   Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

   In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

   וַיְגַלvay/GALand He revealedבְּעִתָּיוbe/it/TAYVin His timesאֶת־דְּבָרוֹet-de/va/ROHis wordבַּקְּרִיאָהbak/ke/ri/Ain the proclamationאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהׇפְקְדָהhof/ke/DAwas entrustedבְּיָדִיbe/ya/DIinto my handעַל־פִּיal-piaccording toמִצְוַתmits/VATthe commandment ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodמוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ׃Mo/shi/e/NUour Savior

   But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

   To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeהִנַּחְתִּיךָhin/nach/ti/KHAI left youבִקְרֵיטִיVik/re/TIin Creteלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתְּסַדֵּרte/sad/DERyou may set in orderאֶת־הֶחָסֵרet-he/cha/SERwhat is lackingוְתַסְמִיךְve/tas/MIKHand appointזְקֵנִיםze/ke/NIMeldersבְּכׇל־עִירbe/KHOL-irin every cityוָעִירva/IRand cityכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוִּיתִיךָ׃tsiv/vi/TI/khaI commanded you

   For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

   אִם־יִמָּצֵאim-yim/ma/TSEif is foundאִישׁisha manנָקִיna/KIinnocentבַּעַל־אִשָּׁהBA/al-ish/SHAthe husband of a wifeאַחַתa/CHAToneוְיֶשׁ־לוֹve/YESH-loand he hasבָּנִיםba/NIMchildrenנֶאֱמָנִיםne/e/ma/NIMfaithfulאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאֵיןennotעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themשִׂטְנַתsit/NATan accusation ofזוֹלֲלוּתzo/la/LUTcarousingאוֹoorמֶרִי׃ME/rirebellion

   If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

   כִּיkiforעַל־הַפָּקִידal-hap/pa/KIDon the overseerלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTbeנָקִיna/KIinnocentכְּסֹכֵןke/so/KHENas a stewardאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלֹאlonotעֹשֶׂהo/SEdoingכִרְצֹנוֹkhir/tso/NOhis willלֹאlonotקְצַרke/TSARshort ofאַפַּיִםap/PA/yimangerלֹאlonotסֹבֵאso/VEa drunkard ofיַיִןYA/yinwineלֹאlonoבַעַלVA/almaster ofאֶגְרֹףeg/ROFthe fistלֹאlonotבֹצֵעַvo/TSE/agreedy forבֶּצַעBE/tsagainרָע׃raevil

   For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

   כִּיkibutאִם־אֹהֵבim-o/HEVrather a lover ofלִפְתֹּחַlif/TO/achto openדַּלְתּוֹdal/TOhis doorלָאֹרֵחַla/o/RE/achto the guestאֹהֵבo/HEVa lover ofטוֹבִיםto/VIMgoodנָבוֹןna/VONprudentצַדִּיקtsad/DIKjustקָדוֹשׁka/DOSHholyוּמֹשֵׁלu/mo/SHELand rulingבְּרוּחוֹ׃be/ru/CHOhis spirit

   But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

   מַחֲזִיקma/cha/ZIKholding fastבַּדָּבָרbad/da/VARto the wordהַנֶּאֱמָןhan/ne/e/MANfaithfulכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasלֻמַּדlum/MADhe was taughtלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיוּכַלyu/KHALhe may be ableבַּלֶּקַחbal/LE/kachby the teachingהַתָּמִיםhat/ta/MIMthe soundגַּםgambothלְהַזְהִירle/haz/HIRto urgeגַּםgamandלְהוֹכִיחַle/ho/KHI/achto rebukeאֶת־הַמְּרִיבִים׃et-ham/me/ri/VIMthose who contend

   Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

    כִּיkiforיֵשׁyeshthere areרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyסוֹרְרִיםsor/RIMrebelsוְדֹבְרֵיve/dov/REand speakers ofהֶבֶלHE/velvanityוּמַתְעִיםu/mat/IMand deceiversוְיוֹתֵרve/yo/TERand moreאֲשֶׁרa/SHERtheyמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEfrom the sons ofהַמִּילָה׃ham/mi/LAthe circumcision

    For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

11. 11

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseפִּיהֶםpi/HEMtheir mouthיִסָּכֵרyis/sa/KHERmust be stoppedהַמְעַוְּתִיםham/av/ve/TIMwho pervertבָּתִּיםbat/TIMhousesשְׁלֵמִיםshe/le/MIMwholeוּמְלַמְּדִיםu/me/lam/me/DIMand teachingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹאlonotנָאוֶהna/VEis fittingלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofבֶּצַעBE/tsagainרָע׃raevil

    Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

12. 12

    אֶחָדe/CHADoneמֵהֶםme/HEMof themנְבִיאne/VIa prophetלָהֶםla/HEMof their ownאָמַרa/MARsaidבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofקְרֵיטִיKe/re/TICreteכֹּזְבִיםkoz/VIMliarsתָּמִידta/MIDalwaysחַיּוֹתchay/YOTbeastsרָעוֹתra/OTevilכְּרֵשִׂיםke/re/SIMbelliesעֲצֵלִים׃a/tse/LIMlazy

    One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

13. 13

    וְהָעֵדוּתve/ha/e/DUTand the testimonyהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאֱמֶתe/METis trueוּבַעֲבוּר־כֵּןu/va/a/VUR-kenand thereforeתּוֹכִיחֵםto/khi/CHEMrebuke themתּוֹכֵחָהto/khe/CHAwith a rebukeקָשָׁהka/SHAhardלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיִהְיוּyih/YUthey may beתְמִימִיםte/mi/MIMsoundבָּאֱמוּנָה׃ba/e/mu/NAin the faith

    This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

    וְלֹאve/LOand notיָשִׂימוּya/SI/musetלֵבlevheartלְבַדֵּיle/vad/DEto fables ofהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMof the Jewsוּלְמִצְוֹתu/le/mits/VOTand commandments ofאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenהַסָּרִיםhas/sa/RIMwho turn asideמִן־הָאֱמֶת׃min-ha/e/METfrom the truth

    Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

15. 15

    הַכֹּלhak/KOLallטָהוֹרta/HORis pureלַטְּהוֹרִיםlat/te/ho/RIMto the pureאֲבָלa/VALbutלַנִּטְמְאִיםlan/nit/me/IMto the defiledוּלְחַסְרֵיu/le/chas/REand to those lackingאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAfaithאֵין־דָּבָרen-da/VARnothing isטָהוֹרta/HORpureכִּיkiforגַם־מַחְשְׁבוֹתָםgam-mach/she/vo/TAMeven their thoughtsוְלִבָּםve/lib/BAMand their heartנִטְמְאוּ׃nit/me/Uare defiled

    Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

16. 16

    מוֹדִיםmo/DIMconfessהֵםhemthey areכִּיkiforיָדְעוּya/de/Uthey knowאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodוּבְמַעֲשֵׂיהֶםu/ve/ma/a/se/HEMand by their deedsמְכַחֲשִׁיםme/kha/cha/SHIMthey denyבּוֹboHimנִתְעָבִיםnit/a/VIMabominableוּמַמְרִיםu/mam/RIMand disobedientוְנִמְאָסִיםve/nim/a/SIMand rejectedלְכׇל־מַעֲשֶׂהle/KHOL-ma/a/SEfor any workטוֹב׃tovgood

    They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
