Scripture repeats itself. A handful of roots does most of the work, and the rest arrive slowly — so the order you meet them in decides how soon the page opens. This is that order, counted from the text itself rather than chosen.

Counted across words. A root family gathers every form the reader will actually meet — וַיְדַבֵּר, דָּבָר and מִדְבָּר are one entry, not three — so a root learned is a root recognised wherever it turns up. Names are marked; they are worth knowing but they are not vocabulary.
