   I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,

   כִּי־גָדוֹלki-ga/DOLthat great isעִצְּבוֹנִיits/tse/vo/NImy griefוְאֵין־קֵץve/EN-ketsand there is no endלְדַאֲבוֹןle/da/a/VONto the sorrow ofלִבִּי׃lib/BImy heart

   That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.

   כִּיkiforמִי־יִתֵּןmi-yit/TENwould thatהֱיוֹתִיhe/yo/TII wereאֲנִיa/NIIלְחֵרֶםle/CHE/remaccursedמִן־הַמָּשִׁיחַmin-Ham/ma/SHI/achfrom the Messiahבְּעַדbe/ADforאַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersשְׁאֵרִיshe/e/RImy kinוּבְשָׂרִי׃u/ve/sa/RIand my flesh

   For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֵםhemareבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוְלָהֶםve/la/HEMand theirs isמִשְׁפַּטmish/PATthe right ofהַבָּנִיםhab/ba/NIMthe sonsוְהַכָּבוֹדve/hak/ka/VODand the gloryוְהַבְּרִיתוֹתve/hab/be/ri/TOTand the covenantsוּמַתַּןu/mat/TANand the giving ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawוְהָעֲבוֹדָהve/ha/a/vo/DAand the serviceוְהַהַבְטָחוֹת׃ve/ha/hav/ta/CHOTand the promises

   Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

   וְלָהֶםve/la/HEMand theirs areהָאָבוֹתha/a/VOTthe fathersוּמֵהֶםu/me/HEMand from themיָצָאya/TSAcameהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahלְפִיle/FIaccording toבְשָׂרוֹve/sa/ROhis fleshאֲשֶׁר־הוּאa/SHER-huwho isעַל־הַכֹּלal-hak/KOLover allאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodמְבֹרָךְme/vo/RAKHblessedלְעוֹלָמִיםle/o/la/MIMforeverאָמֵן׃a/MENamen

   Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

   אֲבָלa/VALbutלֹאlonotכִּי־נָפַלki-na/FALthat has fallenדְּבַרde/VARthe word ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאָרְצָהAR/tsato the groundכִּיkiforלֹא־כֹלlo-kholnot allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho areמִיִּשְׂרָאֵלmiy/Yis/ra/ELfrom IsraelיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהֵמָּה׃HEM/maare they

   Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

7. 7

   וְלֹאve/LOand notבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERbecauseהֵםhemthey areזֶרַעZE/rathe seed ofאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamכֻּלָּםkul/LAMare all of themבָּנִיםba/NIMsonsכִּיkibutבְיִצְחָקve/Yits/CHAKin Isaacיִקָּרֵאyik/ka/REwill be calledלְךָle/KHAto youזָרַע׃ZA/raseed

   Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

8. 8

   הוּאhuthat isלֹאlonotבְנֵי־הַבָּשָׂרve/NE-hab/ba/SARthe sons of the fleshהֵמָּהHEM/maare theyבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodכִּיkibutאִםimratherבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofהַהַבְטָחָהha/hav/ta/CHAthe promiseהֵםhemareהַנֶּחֱשָׁבִיםhan/ne/che/sha/VIMthose countedלְזָרַע׃le/ZA/raas seed

   That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

   כִּי־זֶהki-zefor this isדְּבַרde/VARthe word ofהַהַבְטָחָהha/hav/ta/CHAthe promiseבָּעֵתba/ETat the timeהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאָבוֹאa/VOI will comeוּלְשָׂרָהu/Le/sa/RAand to Saraבֵן׃vena son

   For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.

    וְלֹא־זֹאתve/LO-zotand not thisלְבַדle/VADonlyכִּיkibutגַּם־רִבְקָהGam-riv/KARebecca alsoהָרָהha/RAconceivedלְאֶחָדle/e/CHADby oneלְיִצְחָקle/Yits/CHAKby Isaacאָבִינוּ׃a/VI/nuour father

    And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;

11. 11

    כִּיkiforבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeיֻלְּדוּyul/le/DUwere bornבָנֶיהָva/NE/haher sonsוְעוֹדve/ODand yetלֹא־עֲשׂוּlo-a/SUhad not doneטוֹבtovgoodאוֹ־רָעo-raor evilלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתָּקוּםta/KUMmight standעֲצַתa/TSATthe counsel ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodכְּפִיke/FIaccording toבְחִירָתוֹve/chi/ra/TOHis choosingלֹאlonotמִמַּעֲשִׂיםmim/ma/a/SIMof worksכִּיkibutאִםimratherמִן־הַקֹּרֵא׃min-hak/ko/REof him that calls

    (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)

12. 12

    נֶאֱמַרne/e/MARit was saidלָהּlato herכִּי־רַבki-ravthat the elderיַעֲבֹדya/a/VODwill serveצָעִיר׃tsa/IRthe younger

    It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.

13. 13

    כַּכָּתוּבkak/ka/TUVas it is writtenוָאֹהַבva/o/HAVand I lovedאֶת־יַעֲקֹבet-Ya/a/KOVJacobוְאֶת־עֵשָׂוve/ET-e/SAVand Esauשָׂנֵאתִי׃sa/NE/tiI hated

    As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

14. 14

    מַה־נֹּאמַרma-NO/marwhat shall we sayאֵפוֹאe/FOthenהֲיֶשׁ־עָוֶלha/YESH-A/velis there injusticeעִם־אֱלֹהִיםim-e/lo/HIMwith Godחָלִילָה׃cha/LI/lafar be it

    What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

15. 15

    כִּיkiforלְמֹשֶׁהle/Mo/SHEto Mosesאָמַרa/MARHe saidוְחַנֹּתִיve/chan/no/TIand I will be graciousאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERto whomאָחֹןa/CHONI will be graciousוְרִחַמְתִּיve/ri/cham/TIand I will have compassionאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERto whomאֲרַחֵם׃a/ra/CHEMI will have compassion

    For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

16. 16

    לָכֵןla/KHENso thenהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe matterלֹא־בְיַדlo-ve/YADnot in the hand ofהָרֹצֶהha/ro/TSEthe one who willsוְלֹא־בְיַדve/LO-ve/YADand not in the hand ofהָרָץha/RATSthe one who runsכִּיkibutאִם־בְּיַדim-be/YADrather in the hand ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodהַחוֹנֵן׃ha/cho/NENthat shows mercy

    So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

17. 17

    כִּי־כֵןki-khenfor soהַכָּתוּבhak/ka/TUVthe scriptureאֹמֵרo/MERsaysלְפַרְעֹהle/Far/Oto Pharaohבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURfor the sake ofזֹאתzotthisהֶעֱמַדְתִּיךָhe/e/mad/TI/khaI have made you standבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURso thatהַרְאוֹתhar/OTI might showבְּךָbe/KHAin youאֶת־כֹּחִיet-ko/CHIMy powerוּלְמַעַןu/le/MA/anand so thatיְסֻפַּרye/sup/PARwill be toldשְׁמִיshe/MIMy nameבְּכׇל־הָאָרֶץ׃be/KHOL-ha/A/retsin all the earth

    For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

18. 18

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhomיַחְפֹּץyach/POTSHe desiresיָחֹןya/CHONHe is gracious toוְאֶת־אֲשֶׁרve/ET-a/SHERand whomיַחְפֹּץyach/POTSHe desiresיַקְשֶׁה׃yak/SHEHe hardens

    Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

19. 19

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youתֹּאמַרto/MARyou will sayאֵלַיe/LAYto meלָמָּה־זֶּהLAM/ma-zewhy thenעוֹדodyetיִמְצָאyim/TSAdoes he findעָוֹןa/VONiniquityכִּיkiforנֶגֶדNE/gedagainstרְצוֹנוֹre/tso/NOHis willמִיmiwhoיִתְיַצָּב׃yit/yats/TSAVcan stand

    Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?

20. 20

    אֲבָלa/VALbutבֶּן־אָדָםben-a/DAMson of manמִיmiwhoאַתָּהat/TAare youכִּיkithatתָרִיבta/RIVyou contendאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMwith Godהֲיֹאמַרha/yo/MARwill sayיֵצֶרYE/tserthe thing formedלְיֹצְרוֹle/yots/ROto the one who formed itמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyכָּכָהKA/khasoעֲשִׂיתָנִי׃a/si/TA/nihave you made me

    Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

21. 21

    הֲלֹאha/LOhas notשִׁלְטוֹןshil/TONauthorityלַיֹּצֵרlay/yo/TSERto the potterעַל־הַחֹמֶרal-ha/CHO/merover the clayלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto makeמִן־הַגֹּלֶםmin-hag/GO/lemof the lumpהָאֶחָדha/e/CHADoneכְּלִיke/LIa vessel ofאֶחָדe/CHADoneלְכָבוֹדle/kha/VODfor honorוְאַחֵרve/a/CHERand anotherלְקָלוֹן׃le/ka/LONfor dishonor

    Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

22. 22

    וּמָהu/MAand whatאֵפוֹאe/FOthenאִם־הָאֱלֹהִיםim-ha/e/lo/HIMif Godהֶחָפֵץhe/cha/FETSwishingלְהַרְאוֹתle/har/OTto showזַעְמוֹza/MOHis indignationוּלְהוֹדִיעַu/le/ho/DI/aand to make knownגְּבוּרָתוֹge/vu/ra/TOHis mightנָשָׂאna/SAboreבְּרֹבbe/ROVwith muchאֹרֶךְO/rekhthe patience ofאַפּוֹap/POHis angerאֶת־כְּלֵיet-ke/LEthe vessels ofהַזַּעַםhaz/ZA/amindignationהַנְּכוֹנִיםhan/ne/kho/NIMpreparedלַאֲבַדּוֹן׃la/a/vad/DONfor destruction

    What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

23. 23

    וּלְמַעַןu/le/MA/anand thatיוֹדִיעַyo/DI/ahe might make knownגַּם־אֶת־עֹשֶׁרgam-et-O/sheralso the riches ofכְּבוֹדוֹke/vo/DOHis gloryבִּכְלֵיbikh/LEon the vessels ofהַחֲנִינָהha/cha/ni/NAmercyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהֵכִיןhe/KHINHe preparedמִקֶּדֶםmik/KE/dembeforehandלְכָבוֹד׃le/kha/VODfor glory

    And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

24. 24

    אַףafevenאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomקָרָאka/RAHe has calledלֹאlonotמִן־הַיְּהוּדִיםmin-Hay/ye/hu/DIMfrom the Jewsלְבַדָּםle/vad/DAMaloneכִּיkibutאַףafalsoמִן־הַגּוֹיִם׃min-Hag/go/YIMfrom the Gentiles

    Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

25. 25

    כְּאׇמְרוֹke/om/ROas He saysבְהוֹשֵׁעַve/Ho/SHE/ain Oseeאֶקְרָאek/RAI will callלְלֹא־עַמִּיle/LO-am/MIto not My peopleעַמִּיam/MIMy peopleוּלְלֹא־אֲהוּבָהu/le/LO-a/hu/VAand to not lovedאֲהוּבָה׃a/hu/VAloved

    As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.

26. 26

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it will beבִּמְקוֹםbim/KOMin the placeאֲשֶׁר־יֵאָמֵרa/SHER-ye/a/MERwhere it is saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themלֹא־עַמִּיlo-am/MInot My peopleאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areשָׁםshamthereיֵאָמֵרye/a/MERit will be saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themבְּנֵיbe/NEsons ofאֵל־חָי׃el-chaythe living God

    And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.

27. 27

    וִישַׁעְיָהוּVi/sha/YA/huand Esaiasקֹרֵאko/REcries outעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלal-Yis/ra/ELconcerning Israelכִּיkithatאִם־יִהְיֶהim-yih/YEif beמִסְפַּרmis/PARthe number ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכְּחוֹלke/CHOLas the sand ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaשְׁאָרshe/ARa remnantיִוָּשֵׁעַ׃yiv/va/SHE/awill be saved

    Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

28. 28

    כִּיkiforמְכַלֶּהme/khal/LEhe will finishהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe matterוְחֹרֵץve/cho/RETSand cut it shortבִּצְדָקָהbits/da/KAin righteousnessכִּיkibecauseדָבָרda/VARa workחָרוּץcha/RUTSdecidedאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEwill makeעַל־הָאָרֶץ׃al-ha/A/retsupon the earth

    For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.

29. 29

    וְכַאֲשֶׁרve/kha/a/SHERand asאָמַרa/MARsaidיְשַׁעְיָהוּYe/sha/YA/huEsaiasמִלְּפָנִיםmil/le/fa/NIMbeforeלוּלֵיlu/LEunlessיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsהוֹתִירho/TIRhad leftלָנוּLA/nuusזֶרַעZE/raa seedכִּסְדֹםKis/DOMas Sodomaהָיִינוּha/YI/nuwe would have beenלַעֲמֹרָהla/A/mo/RAto Gomorrhaדָּמִינוּ׃da/MI/nuwe would have been like

    And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

30. 30

    מַה־נֹּאמַרma-NO/marwhat shall we sayאֵפוֹאe/FOthenכִּיkithatהַגּוֹיִםhag/Go/YIMthe Gentilesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹאlonotרָדְפוּra/de/FUpursuedאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַצְּדָקָהhats/tse/da/KArighteousnessהִשִּׂיגוּhis/SI/guhave attainedאֶת־הַצְּדָקָהet-hats/tse/da/KArighteousnessהִיאhithat isהַצְּדָקָהhats/tse/da/KAthe righteousnessאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isמִן־הָאֱמוּנָה׃min-ha/e/mu/NAof faith

    What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

31. 31

    וְיִשְׂרָאֵלve/Yis/ra/ELand Israelבְּרָדְפוֹbe/ra/de/FOin pursuingתּוֹרַתto/RATthe law ofצְדָקָהtse/da/KArighteousnessלְתוֹרַתle/to/RATto the law ofהַצְּדָקָהhats/tse/da/KArighteousnessלֹאlonotהִגִּיעַ׃hig/GI/adid attain

    But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

32. 32

    וְעַל־מָהve/AL-maand for what reasonעַל־אֲשֶׁר־לֹאal-a/SHER-lobecause notמֵאֱמוּנָהme/e/mu/NAfrom faithדְּרָשׁוּהָde/ra/shu/HAthey sought itכִּיkibutאִם־מִמַּעֲשֵׂיim-mim/ma/a/SErather from the works ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawכִּיkiforהִתְנַגְּפוּhit/nag/ge/FUthey stumbledבְּאֶבֶןbe/E/venat the stone ofנֶגֶף׃NE/gefstumbling

    Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

33. 33

    כַּכָּתוּבkak/ka/TUVas it is writtenהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iיִסַּדyis/SADlayבְּצִיּוֹןbe/Tsiy/YONin ZionאֶבֶןE/vena stone ofנֶגֶףNE/gefstumblingוְצוּרve/TSURand a rock ofמִכְשׁוֹלmikh/SHOLoffenseוְכׇל־הַמַּאֲמִיןve/KHOL-ham/ma/a/MINand everyone who believesבּוֹboin himלֹאlonotיֵבוֹשׁ׃ye/VOSHwill be ashamed

    As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
