1. 1

   אֶחָיbrethrenחֵפֶץthe-desire-ofלְבָבִיmy-heartוּתְפִילָּתִיand-my-prayerלֵאלֹהִיםto-GodבְּעַדforיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelאֲשֶׁרis-thatיִוָּשֵׁעוּ׃they-might-be-saved

   Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

2. 2

   כִּיforמֵעִידbear-recordאֲנִיIעֲלֵיהֶםthemשֶׁמְּקַנְּאִיםthat-they-have-a-zealלֵאלֹהִיםof-Godאֲבָלbutלֹא־בְדָעַת׃not-according-to-knowledge

   For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

   כִּיforאֶת־צִדְקַתthe-righteousness-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodלֹאnotיָדָעוּthey-knewוַיְבַקְשׁוּand-going-aboutלְהָקִיםto-establishאֶת־צִדְקָתָםtheir-own-righteousnessוּלְצִדְקַתunto-the-righteousness-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodלֹאnotנִכְנָעוּ׃have-they-submitted-themselves

   For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

   כִּיforהַמָּשִׁיחַChristסוֹףis-the-end-ofהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawלִצְדָקָהfor-righteousnessלְכׇל־הַמַּאֲמִיןto-every-one-that-believethבּוֹ׃in-him

   For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

   כִּי־משֶׁהfor-Mosesכָּתַבdescribethעַל־דְּבַרconcerningהַצְּדָקָהthe-righteousnessמִתּוֹךְwhich-is-ofהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawאֲשֶׁרthatיַעֲשֶׂהwhich-doethאֹתָםthose-thingsהָאָדָםthe-manוָחַיshall-liveבָּהֶם׃by-them

   For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

   וְהַצְּדָקָהbut-the-righteousnessאֲשֶׁרwhich-isמִתּוֹךְofהָאֱמוּנָהfaithאֹמֶרֶתspeakethאַל־תֹּאמַרsay-notבִּלְבָבְךָin-yours-heartמִי־יַעֲלֶהwho-shall-ascendהַשָּׁמַיְמָהinto-heavenלְהוֹרִידto-bring-downאֶת־הַמָּשִׁיחַ׃Christ

   But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

   אוֹorמִיwhoיֵרֵדshall-descendלִתְהוֹםinto-the-deepלְהַעֲלוֹתto-bring-upאֶת־הַמָּשִׁיחַChristמִן־הַמֵּתִים׃from-the-dead

   Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

   אֲבָלbutמַה־תֹּאמַרwhat-saith-itקָרוֹבnighאֵלֶיךָyou-isהַדָּבָרthe-wordבְּפִיךָin-your-mouthוּבִלְבָבֶךָand-in-your-heartהוּאthat-isדְּבַרthe-word-ofהָאֱמוּנָהfaithאֲשֶׁרwhichאֲנַחְנוּweמְבַשְׂרִים׃preach

   But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

   כִּיthatאִם־בְּפִיךָif-with-your-mouthתוֹדֶהyou-shall-confessשֶׁיֵּשׁוּעַthat-Jesusהוּאisהָאָדוֹןthe-Lordוְתַאֲמִיןand-shalt-believeבִּלְבָבְךָin-yours-heartשֶׁהָאֱלֹהִיםthat-Godהֱעִירוֹhath-raised-himמִן־הַמֵּתִיםfrom-the-deadתִּוָּשֵׁעַ׃you-shall-be-saved

   That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10. 10

    כִּיforבִלְבָבוֹwith-the-heartיַאֲמִיןbelievethהָאָדָםmanוְהָיְתָהit-isלּוֹto-himלִצְדָקָהunto-righteousnessוּבְפִיהוּand-with-the-mouthיוֹדֶהconfession-is-madeוְהָיְתָה־לּוֹit-is-to-himלִישׁוּעָה׃unto-salvation

    For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11. 11

    כִּיforהַכָּתוּבthe-scriptureאֹמֵרsaithכׇּל־הַמַּאֲמִיןwhosoever-believethבּוֹon-himלֹאnotיֵבוֹשׁ׃shall-be-ashamed

    For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12. 12

    וְאֵיןfor-there-is-noהַפְרֵשׁdifferenceבֵּיןbetweenהַיְּהוּדִיthe-Jewלַיְּוָנִיand-the-GreekכִּיforאָדוֹןLordאֶחָדthe-sameלְכֻלָּםover-allוְהוּאisעָשִׁירrichלְכׇל־קֹרְאָיו׃unto-all-that-call-upon-him

    For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13. 13

    כִּי־כֹלfor-whosoeverאֲשֶׁר־יִקְרָאshall-callבְּשֵׁםupon-the-name-ofיְהוָֹהthe-Lordיִמָּלֵט׃shall-be-saved

    For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14. 14

    וְעַתָּהhow-thenאֵיךְhowיִקְרְאוּshall-they-call-onאֶל־אֲשֶׁרhim-in-whomלֹא־הֶאֱמִינוּthey-have-notבוֹbelievedוְאֵיךְand-howיַאֲמִינוּshall-they-believeבְּמִיin-himשֶׁלּאof-whom-notשָׁמְעוּthey-have-heardאֶת־שִׁמְעוֹthe-report-of-himוְאֵיךְand-howיִשְׁמְעוּshall-they-hearוְאֵיןwithoutמַגִּיד׃a-preacher

    How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15. 15

    וְאֵיךְand-howיַגִּידוּshall-they-preachכִּיexceptאִם־שְׁלוּחִיםthey-be-sentכַּכָּתוּבas-it-is-writtenמַה־נָּאווּhow-beautiful-areרַגְלֵיthe-feet-ofמְבַשֵׂרthem-that-preach-the-gospel-ofשָׁלוֹםpeaceמְבַשֵׂרand-bring-glad-tidings-ofטוֹב׃good-things

    And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

16. 16

    אֲבָלbutלֹא־כֻלָּםthey-have-not-allשָׁמְעוּobeyedלְקוֹלthe-voice-ofהַבְּשׂוֹרָהthe-gospelכִּיforיְשַׁעְיָהוּEsaiasאָמַרsaithהָאָדוֹןLordמִיwhoהֶאֱמִיןhath-believedלִשְׁמֻעָתֵנוּ׃our-report

    But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

17. 17

    אִם־כֵּןso-thenהָאֱמוּנָהfaithבָאָהcomethמִתּוֹךְbyהַשְּׁמוּעָהhearingוְהַשְּׁמוּעָהand-hearingעַל־יְדֵיbyדְבַר־הָאֱלֹהִים׃the-word-of-God.

    So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

18. 18

    וְאֹמַרbut-I-sayהֲכִיhave-theyלֹאnotשָׁמֵעוּheardאׇמְנָםyes-verilyבְּכׇל־הָאָרֶץinto-all-the-earthיָצָאwentקַוָּםtheir-soundוּבִקְצֵהand-unto-the-ends-ofתֵבֵלthe-worldמִלֵּיהֶם׃their-words

    But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

19. 19

    וְאֹמַרbut-I-sayהֲכִיdidיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelלֹאnotיָדָעknowהִנֵּה־כְבָרfirstמשֶׁהMosesאָמַרsaithאֲנִיIאַקְנִיאֲכֶםwill-provoke-you-to-jealousyבְּלֹא־עָםby-them-that-are-no-peopleבְּגוֹיby-a-nationנָבָלfoolishאַכְעִיסְכֶם׃I-will-anger-you

    But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

20. 20

    וִישַׁעְיָהוּbut-Esaiasמְלָאוֹemboldenedלִבּוֹhis-heartלֵאמֹרand-saithנִמְצֵאתִיI-was-foundלְלֹאof-them-that-notבִקְשֻׁנִיsought-meנִדְרַשְׁתִּיI-was-made-manifestלְלוֹאunto-them-that-notשָׁאָלוּ׃asked

    But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

21. 21

    וְעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלbut-to-IsraelהוּאheאֹמֵרsaithפֵּרָשְׂתִּיI-have-stretched-forthיָדַיmy-handsכׇּל־הַיּוֹםall-day-longאֶל־עַםunto-a-peopleסוֹרֵרdisobedientוּמֹרֶה׃and-gainsaying

    But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
