    אִם־כֵּןthenמַה־נֹּאמַרwhat-shall-we-sayהֲנַעֲמֹדshall-we-continueבַּחֵטְאin-sinלְמַעַןthatיִרְבֶּהmay-aboundהֶחָסֶד׃grace

    What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

    חָלִילָהGod-forbidלָּנוּusכִּיwe-whoמַתְנוּare-deadלַחֵטְאto-sinוְאֵיךְhow-shall-weנוֹסִיףcontinueלִחְיוֹתto-liveבּוֹ׃therein

    God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

    אוֹorהַאֵינְכֶםknow-youיֹדְעִיםnotכִּיthatכֻלָּנוּso-many-of-us-asהַנִּטְבָּלִיםwere-baptizedלַמָּשִׁיחַinto-ChristיֵשׁוּעַJesusלְמוֹתוֹinto-his-deathנִטְבָּלְנוּ׃were-baptized

    Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

    לָכֵןthereforeנִקְבַּרְנוּwe-are-buriedעִמּוֹwith-himבַּטְּבִילָהby-baptismלַמָּוֶתinto-deathלְמַעַןthatנִתְהַלֵּךְwe-should-walkבְּחַיִּיםin-lifeמְחֻדָּשִׁיםnewness-ofכַּאֲשֶׁרlike-asהַמָּשִׁיחַChristנֵעוֹרwas-raised-upמִן־הַמֵּתִיםfrom-the-deadעַל־יְדֵיbyכְּבוֹדthe-glory-ofהָאָב׃the-Father

    Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

    כִּיforאִם־נִדְבַּקְנוּif-we-have-been-planted-togetherבְּדִמְיוֹןin-the-likeness-ofמוֹתוֹhis-deathאָכֵןalsoדְּבוּקִיםplanted-togetherנִהְיֶהwe-shall-beגַּם־לִתְחִיָּתוֹ׃in-his-resurrection

    For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

    בַּאֲשֶׁרin-thatיֹדְעִיםknowingאֲנַחְנוּweכִּי־נִצְלַבthat-is-crucifiedעִמּוֹwith-himהָאָדָםthe-manהַיָּשָׁןoldאֲשֶׁרwhichבָּנוּin-usלְמַעַןthatיֹאבַדmight-be-destroyedגּוּףthe-body-ofהַחֵטְאsinוְלֹאand-notנִהְיֶהwe-should-beעוֹדhenceforthעֲבָדִיםservantsלַחֵטְא׃to-sin

    Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

    כִּיforהַמֵּתhe-that-is-deadנִקָּהis-freedמִן־הַחֵטְא׃from-sin

    For he that is dead is freed from sin.

  8. 8

    וְהִנֵּהnowאִם־מַתְנוּif-we-be-deadעִם־הַמָּשִׁיחַwith-Christנַאֲמִיןwe-believeכִּי־גַם־נִחְיֶהthat-we-shall-also-liveעִמּוֹ׃with-him

    Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

    בַּאֲשֶׁרin-thatיָדַעְנוּwe-knowכִּיthatהַמָּשִׁיחַChristאַחֲרֵיafterאֲשֶׁרthatנֵעוֹרhe-was-raisedמִן־הַמֵּתִיםfrom-the-deadלֹאnoיָמוּתdiethעוֹדmoreוְלֹאand-notיִשְׁלַט־בּוֹhath-dominion-over-himעוֹדany-moreהַמָּוֶת׃death

    Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

    כִּיforאֲשֶׁרin-thatמֵתhe-diedמֵתhe-diedלַחֵטְאunto-sinפַּעַםonceאֶחָדfor-allוַאֲשֶׁרbut-in-thatחַיhe-livethחַיhe-livethהוּאheלֵאלֹהִים׃unto-God

    For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

    וְכֵןlikewiseגַּם־אַתֶּםyou-alsoהֱיוּreckonבְעֵינֵיכֶםyourselvesכְּמֵתִיםto-be-deadלַחֵטְאunto-sinוְחַיִּיםbut-aliveלֵאלֹהִיםunto-Godבַּמָּשִׁיחַthrough-ChristיֵשׁוּעַJesusאֲדֹנֵינוּ׃our-Lord

    Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

    אִם־כֵּןthereforeאֵפוֹאthenאַל־תִּשְׁלַטlet-not-reignהַחַטָּאתsinבְּגוּפְכֶםin-your-bodyאֲשֶׁרwhichיָמוּתis-mortalלְהַטּוֹתto-inclineלְבַבְכֶםyour-heartאַחֲרֵיafterתַאֲוֹתָיו׃its-lusts

    Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

    וְאַל־תִּתְּנוּneither-yield-youאֶת־אֵבָרֵיכֶםyour-membersלִהְיוֹתto-beלִכְלֵי־עָוֶלinstruments-of-unrighteousnessלַחֵטְאunto-sinאֲבָלbutתְּנוּyieldעַצְמְכֶםyourselvesלֵאלֹהִיםunto-Godכַּחַיִּיםas-those-that-are-aliveמֵעִםfromהַמֵּתִיםthe-deadוְאֵבָרֵיכֶםand-your-membersלִכְלֵיas-instruments-ofצְדָקָהrighteousnessלֵאלֹהִים׃unto-God

    Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

    כִּיforהַחֵטְאsinלֹאnotיִשְׂתָּרֵרshall-have-dominionעוֹדany-moreעֲלֵיכֶםover-youמִפְּנֵיforשֶׁאֵינְכֶםyou-are-notתַּחַתunderהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawכִּיbutאִם־תַּחַתunderהֶחָסֶד׃grace

    For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

    וְעַתָּהwhat-thenהֲנֶחֱטָאshall-we-sinמִפְּנֵיbecauseשֶׁאֵיןnotאֲנַחְנוּwe-areתַּחַתunderהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawכִּיbutאִם־תַּחַתunderהֶחָסֶדgraceחָלִילָה׃God-forbid

    What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

    הֲלֹאknow-youיְדַעְתֶּםnotכִּיthatאֲשֶׁרto-whomתִּתְּנוּyou-yieldנַפְשְׁכֶםyourselvesלוֹto-himלִהְיוֹתto-beעֲבָדָיוhis-servantsלָסוּרto-obeyלְמִשְׁמַעְתּוֹhis-commandעֲבָדִיםservantsאַתֶּםyou-areלוֹto-himלִשְׁמֹעַto-obeyבְּקוֹלוֹhis-voiceאִם־לַחֵטְאwhether-of-sinאֱלֵי־מָוֶתunto-deathאִם־לַמִּשְׁמַעַתor-of-obedienceאֱלֵי־צְדָקָה׃unto-righteousness

    Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

    אֲבָלbutתּוֹדֹתthanksלֵאלֹהִיםbe-to-Godכִּי־הֱיִיתֶםthat-you-wereעַבְדֵיthe-servants-ofהַחֵטְאsinוְאַחַרbutשְׁמַעְתֶּםyou-have-obeyedבְּכׇל־לְבַבְכֶםfrom-all-your-heartלְצוּרַתthat-form-ofהַלֶּקַחdoctrineאֲשֶׁרwhichחֻנַּכְתֶּםyou-were-instructedבָּהּ׃therein

    But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

  18. 18

    שֻׁחֲרַרְתֶּםyou-were-made-freeמִידֵיfromהַחֵטְאsinלָכֵןthenהִשְׁתַּעְבַּדְתֶּםyou-became-servantsלַצְּדָקָה׃of-righteousness

    Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

    כְּדֶרֶךְafter-the-manner-ofבְּנֵי־אָדָםmenאֲנִיIמְדַבֵּרspeakמִפְּנֵיbecause-ofבְשַׂרְכֶםyour-fleshהֶחָלוּשׁthe-infirmity-ofכִּיforכַּאֲשֶׁרasלְפָנִיםof-oldהֲכִינוֹתֶםyou-have-yieldedאֶת־אֵבָרֵיכֶםyour-membersלַעֲבוֹדַתservants-toהַטֻּמְאָהuncleannessוְהָרֶשַׁעand-to-iniquityלְהַרְשִׁיעַunto-iniquityכֵּןeven-soעַתָּהnowהָכִינוּyieldאֶת־אֵבָרֵיכֶםyour-membersלַעֲבוֹדַתservants-toהַצְּדָקָהrighteousnessלְהִתְקַדֵּשׁ׃unto-holiness

    I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

    כִּי־בְעֵתfor-whenהֱיוֹתְכֶםyou-wereעַבְדֵיthe-servants-ofהַחֵטְאsinחׇפְשִׁיםfreeהֱיִיתֶםyou-wereמִן־הַצְּדָקָה׃from-righteousness

    For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

    וּמָהwhatאֵפוֹאthenהַפְּרִיfruitשֶׁהָיָהhadלָכֶםyouאָזthenמִן־הַמַּעֲשִׂיםin-those-thingsאֲשֶׁרwhereofעַתָּהnowתֵבשׁוּyou-are-ashamedמֵהֶםof-themכִּיforאַחֲרִיתָםthe-end-of-themהַמָּוֶת׃is-death

    What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

    אָכֵןbutעַתָּהnowבִּהְיוֹתְכֶםbeingמְשֻׁחֲרָרִיםmade-freeמִידֵיfromהַחֵטְאsinוּמְשֻׁעְבָּדִיםand-become-servantsלֵאלֹהִיםto-Godיֵשׁthere-isלָכֶםto-youפֶּרְיְכֶםyour-fruitלִקְדֻשָּׁהunto-holinessוְאַחֲרִיתוֹand-the-endחַיֵּיthe-life-ofעוֹלָם׃everlasting

    But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

  23. 23

    כִּי־שְׂכַרfor-the-wages-ofהַחֵטְאsinהוּאisהַמָּוֶתdeathוּמַתְּנַתbut-the-gift-ofחֶסֶדgrace-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodהִיאisחַיֵּיthe-life-ofהָעוֹלָמִיםeternalבַּמָּשִׁיחַthrough-ChristיֵשׁוּעַJesusאֲדֹנֵינוּ׃our-Lord

    For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
