   מַה־נֹּאמַרma-NO/marwhat shall we sayאֵפוֹאe/FOthenהֲנַעֲמֹדha/na/a/MODshall we remainבַּחֵטְאba/CHETin sinלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיִרְבֶּהyir/BEmay increaseהֶחָסֶד׃he/CHA/sedgrace

   What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2. 2

   חָלִילָהcha/LI/lafar be itלָּנוּLA/nufor usכִּיkiforמַתְנוּMAT/nuwe diedלַחֵטְאla/CHETto sinוְאֵיךְve/EKHand howנוֹסִיףno/SIFwill we continueלִחְיוֹתlich/YOTto liveבּוֹ׃boin it

   God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

3. 3

   הַאֵינְכֶםha/e/ne/KHEMdo you notיֹדְעִיםyod/IMknowכִּיkithatכֻלָּנוּkhul/LA/nuall of usהַנִּטְבָּלִיםhan/nit/ba/LIMwho were baptizedלַמָּשִׁיחַlam/Ma/SHI/achinto the MessiahיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלְמוֹתוֹle/mo/TOinto his deathנִטְבָּלְנוּ׃nit/ba/le/NUwere baptized

   Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeנִקְבַּרְנוּnik/bar/NUwe were buriedעִמּוֹim/MOwith himבַּטְּבִילָהbat/te/vi/LAby the baptismלַמָּוֶתlam/MA/vetinto deathלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahנֵעוֹרne/ORwas raisedמִן־הַמֵּתִיםmin-ham/me/TIMfrom the deadעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughכְּבוֹדke/VODthe glory ofהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherכֵּןkeneven soגַּם־אֲנַחְנוּgam-a/NACH/nuwe alsoנִתְהַלֵּךְnit/hal/LEKHwe may walkבְּחַיִּיםbe/chay/YIMin lifeחֲדָשִׁים׃cha/da/SHIMnew

   Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

   כִּיkiforאִם־נִטַּעְנוּim-nit/ta/NUif we have been plantedיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherבִּדְמוּתbid/MUTin the likeness ofמוֹתוֹmo/TOhis deathנִהְיֶהnih/YEwe will beגַּםgamalsoבִּדְמוּתbid/MUTin the likeness ofתְּחִיָּתוֹ׃te/chiy/ya/TOhis resurrection

   For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6. 6

   בַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERsinceיֹדְעִיםyod/IMknowingאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweכִּי־נִצְלַבki-nits/LAVthat was crucifiedעִמּוֹim/MOwith himהָאָדָםha/a/DAMthe manהַיָּשָׁןhay/ya/SHANoldאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבָּנוּBA/nuin usלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיִשָּׁמֵדyish/sha/MEDwill be destroyedגּוּףgufthe body ofהַחֵטְאha/CHETsinוְלֹאve/LOand notנִהְיֶהnih/YEwe would beעוֹדodanymoreעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMservantsלַחֵטְא׃la/CHETto sin

   Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

   כִּיkiforהַמֵּתham/METthe one who has diedנִקָּהnik/KAis acquittedמִן־הַחֵטְא׃min-ha/CHETfrom sin

   For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8. 8

   וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאִם־מַתְנוּim-MAT/nuif we diedעִם־הַמָּשִׁיחַim-Ham/ma/SHI/achwith the Messiahנַאֲמִיןna/a/MINwe believeכִּי־גַם־נִחְיֶהki-gam-nich/YEthat we will also liveעִמּוֹ׃im/MOwith him

   Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

   בַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERsinceיָדַעְנוּya/DA/nuwe knowכִּיkithatהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterנֵעוֹרne/ORhe was raisedמִן־הַמֵּתִיםmin-ham/me/TIMfrom the deadלֹאlonotיָמוּתya/MUTwill dieעוֹדodagainוְלֹאve/LOand notיִשְׁלַט־בּוֹyish/LAT-bowill rule over himעוֹדodanymoreהַמָּוֶת׃ham/MA/vetdeath

   Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

10. 10

    כִּיkiforאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatמֵתmethe diedמֵתmethe diedלַחֵטְאla/CHETto sinפַּעַםPA/ama timeאַחַתa/CHAToneוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand thatחַיchayhe livesחַיchayhe livesלֵאלֹהִים׃le/lo/HIMto God

    For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

    וְכֵןve/KHENand soגַּם־אַתֶּםgam-at/TEMyou alsoחִשְׁבוּchish/VUcountאֶת־נַפְשְׁכֶםet-naf/she/KHEMyourselvesלְמֵתִיםle/me/TIMto be dead indeedלַחֵטְאla/CHETto sinוּלְחַיִּיםu/le/chay/YIMbut aliveלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godבַּמָּשִׁיחַbam/Ma/SHI/achin the MessiahיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֲדֹנֵינוּ׃a/do/NE/nuour Lord

    Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12. 12

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאַל־תִּמְלֹךְal-tim/LOKHlet not reignהַחַטָּאתha/chat/TATsinבְּגוּפְכֶםbe/guf/KHEMin your bodyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיָמוּתya/MUTwill dieלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתִּשְׁמְעוּtish/me/Uyou obeyלָהּlaitבְּתַאֲוֹתָיו׃be/ta/a/vo/TAYVin its lusts

    Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13. 13

    וְאַל־תִּתְּנוּve/AL-tit/te/NUand do not giveאֶת־אֵבָרֵיכֶםet-e/va/re/KHEMyour membersלִכְלֵי־עָוֶלlikh/LE-A/velas instruments of unrighteousnessלַחֵטְאla/CHETto sinאֲבָלa/VALbutתְּנוּte/NUgiveאֶת־נַפְשְׁכֶםet-naf/she/KHEMyourselvesלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godכַּחַיִּיםka/chay/YIMas the livingמִן־הַמֵּתִיםmin-ham/me/TIMfrom the deadוְאֵבָרֵיכֶםve/e/va/re/KHEMand your membersלִכְלֵיlikh/LEas instruments ofצְדָקָהtse/da/KArighteousnessלֵאלֹהִים׃le/lo/HIMto God

    Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

    כִּיkiforהַחֵטְאha/CHETsinלֹאlonotיִשְׂתָּרֵרyis/ta/RERwill ruleעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMover youכִּיkiforאֵינְכֶםe/ne/KHEMyou are notתַּחַתTA/chatunderהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawכִּיkibutאִם־תַּחַתim-TA/chatrather underהֶחָסֶד׃he/CHA/sedgrace

    For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

15. 15

    מָהmawhatאֵפוֹאe/FOthenהֲנֶחֱטָאha/ne/che/TAshall we sinכִּיkibecauseאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuwe are notתַּחַתTA/chatunderהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawכִּיkibutאִם־תַּחַתim-TA/chatrather underהֶחָסֶדhe/CHA/sedgraceחָלִילָה׃cha/LI/lafar be it

    What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

16. 16

    הֲלֹאha/LOdo notיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMyou knowכִּיkithatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERto whomתִּתְּנוּtit/te/NUyou yieldנַפְשְׁכֶםnaf/she/KHEMyourselvesלוֹloto himלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beעֲבָדָיוa/va/DAYVhis servantsלָסוּרla/SURto goלְמִשְׁמַעְתּוֹle/mish/ma/TOat his biddingעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMservantsאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areלוֹloto himלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ato listenבְּקוֹלוֹbe/ko/LOto his voiceאִם־לַחֵטְאim-la/CHETwhether of sinאֱלֵי־מָוֶתe/LE-MA/vetto deathאִם־לַמִּשְׁמַעַתim-lam/mish/MA/ator of obedienceאֱלֵי־צְדָקָה׃e/LE-tse/da/KAto righteousness

    Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

17. 17

    אֲבָלa/VALbutתּוֹדֹתto/DOTthanksלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godכִּי־הֱיִיתֶםki-he/yi/TEMthat you wereעַבְדֵיav/DEthe servants ofהַחֵטְאha/CHETsinוְאַחַרve/a/CHARand afterwardשְׁמַעְתֶּםshe/ma/TEMyou listenedמִלִּבְּכֶםmil/lib/be/KHEMfrom the heartלְצוּרַתle/tsu/RATto the form ofהַלֶּקַחhal/LE/kachthe teachingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנִמְסַרnim/SARwas deliveredלָכֶם׃la/KHEMyou

    But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

18. 18

    וּבְצֵאתְכֶםu/ve/tse/te/KHEMand when you went outלַחׇפְשִׁיla/chof/SHIto freedomמִן־הַחֵטְאmin-ha/CHETfrom sinהֱיִיתֶםhe/yi/TEMyou becameעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMservantsלַצְּדָקָה׃lats/tse/da/KAto righteousness

    Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

19. 19

    כְּדֶרֶךְke/DE/rekhafter the manner ofבְּנֵי־אָדָםbe/NE-a/DAMthe sons of menאֲנִיa/NIIמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspeakמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofבְשַׂרְכֶםve/sar/KHEMyour fleshהֶחָלוּשׁhe/cha/LUSHthat is weakכִּיkiforכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasלְפָנִיםle/fa/NIMformerlyנְתַתֶּםne/tat/TEMyou gaveאֶת־אֵבָרֵיכֶםet-e/va/re/KHEMyour membersעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMservantsלַטֻּמְאָהlat/tum/Ato uncleannessוְלָעָוֹןve/la/a/VONand to iniquityלְעָוֹןle/a/VONas iniquityכֵּןkensoעַתָּהat/TAnowתְּנוּte/NUgiveאֶת־אֵבָרֵיכֶםet-e/va/re/KHEMyour membersעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMservantsלַצְּדָקָהlats/tse/da/KAto righteousnessלִקְדֻשָּׁה׃lik/dush/SHAto holiness

    I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

20. 20

    כִּי־בְעֵתki-ve/ETfor at the timeהֱיוֹתְכֶםhe/yot/KHEMyou wereעַבְדֵיav/DEthe servants ofהַחֵטְאha/CHETsinחׇפְשִׁיםchof/SHIMfreeהֱיִיתֶםhe/yi/TEMyou wereמִן־הַצְּדָקָה׃min-hats/tse/da/KAfrom righteousness

    For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

21. 21

    וּמָהu/MAand whatפְּרִיpe/RIfruitהָיָהha/YAhadלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאָזazthenבַּדְּבָרִיםbad/de/va/RIMin those thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעַתָּהat/TAnowתֵבֹשׁוּte/VO/shuyou are ashamedמֵהֶםme/HEMof themכִּיkiforאַחֲרִיתָםa/cha/ri/TAMtheir endהַמָּוֶת׃ham/MA/vetis death

    What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

22. 22

    אֲבָלa/VALbutעַתָּהat/TAnowבְּצֵאתְכֶםbe/tse/te/KHEMwhen you came outלַחׇפְשִׁיla/chof/SHIto freedomמִן־הַחֵטְאmin-ha/CHETfrom sinוִהְיוֹתְכֶםvih/yot/KHEMand becomeעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMservantsלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godיֵשׁyeshthere isפֶּרְיְכֶםper/ye/KHEMyour fruitלִקְדֻשָּׁהlik/dush/SHAto holinessוְאַחֲרִיתוֹve/a/cha/ri/TOand its endחַיֵּיchay/YEthe life ofעוֹלָם׃o/LAMeternity

    But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

23. 23

    כִּי־שְׂכַרki-se/KHARfor the wages ofהַחֵטְאha/CHETsinהוּאhuisהַמָּוֶתham/MA/vetdeathוּמַתְּנַתu/mat/te/NATand the gift ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodהִיאhiisחַיֵּיchay/YEthe life ofעוֹלָםo/LAMeternityבַּמָּשִׁיחַbam/Ma/SHI/achin the MessiahיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֲדֹנֵינוּ׃a/do/NE/nuour Lord

    For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
