    אִםifכֵּןsoמַה־הוּאwhat-isיִתְרוֹןthe-advantage-ofהַיְּהוּדִיthe-Jewוּמַה־הִיאor-what-isתּוֹעֶלֶתthe-profit-ofהַמִּילָה׃circumcision

    What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?

    הַרְבֵּהmuchמִכׇּל־פָּנִיםevery-wayתְּחִלָּתוֹchieflyשֶׁבְּיָדָםthat-unto-themהׇפְקְדוּwere-committedדִּבְרֵיthe-oracles-ofאֱלֹהִים׃God

    Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

    וְאִם־מִקְצָתָםfor-what-if-someלֹאnotהֶאֱמִינוּdid-believeמַה־בְּכָךְwhat-thenהַיְבַטֵּלshall-make-without-effectחֶסְרוֹןthe-lack-ofאֱמוּנָתָםtheir-faithאֶת־אֶמוּנַתthe-faithfulness-ofאֱלֹהִים׃God

    For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

    חָלִילָהGod-forbidאֲבָלyeaהָאֵלlet-Godהוּאbeהַנֶּאֱמָןtrueוְכׇל־הָאָדָםbut-every-manכֹּזֵבa-liarכַּכָּתוּבas-it-is-writtenלְמַעַןthatתִּצְדַּקyou-might-be-justifiedבִּדְבָרֶךָin-your-sayingsתִּזְכֶּהmightest-overcomeבְשׇׁפְטֶךָ׃when-you-are-judged

    God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

    וְאִם־עַוְלָתֵנוּbut-if-our-unrighteousnessתּוֹדִיעַcommendאֶת־צִדְקַתthe-righteousness-ofהָאֱלֹהִיםGodמַה־נֹּאמַרwhat-shall-we-sayהֲיֶשׁ־עָוֶלis-there-unrighteousnessבֵּאלֹהִיםin-Godהַמְשַׁלֵּחַwho-sendethחֲרוֹןthe-fierceness-ofאַפּוֹhis-wrathכְּדַבֵּרas-speakבְּנֵי־אָדָםmenאֲנִיIמְדַבֵּר׃speak

    But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)

    חָלִילָהGod-forbidשֶׁאִם־כֵּןfor-thenאֵיךְhowיִשְׁפֹּטshall-judgeהָאֱלֹהִיםGodאֶת־הָעוֹלָם׃the-world

    God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

  7. 7

    כִּיforאִם־בְּכָזְבִיif-through-my-lieתִּרְבֶּהhath-more-aboundedוְתִפְרֹץand-increasedאֲמִתּוֹthe-truth-ofשֶׁלofאֱלֹהִיםGodלִתְהִלָּהunto-gloryלוֹhisלָמָּהwhyאֶשָּׁפֵטam-I-judgedעוֹדyetכְּחוֹטֵא׃as-a-sinner

    For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

    וְלָמָּהand-whyלֹאnotנַעֲשֶׂהlet-us-doכִּדְבַרas-the-report-ofמְחָרֲפֵינוּthem-which-slander-usוּמוֹצִיאֵיand-those-who-bringדִבָּהa-slanderעָלֵינוּagainst-usכְּאִלּוּas-ifאֹמְרִיםsayאֲנַחְנוּweנַעֲשֶׂהlet-us-doהָרַעevilלְמַעַןthatיָבֹאmay-comeהַטּוֹבgoodאֵלֶּהtheseהֵםare-theyאֲשֶׁרwhomעֲלֵיהֶםupon-themיָבֹאshall-comeדִינָםtheir-damnationבְּצֶדֶק׃justly

    And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

    וְעַתָּהand-nowמָהwhat-thenהֲיֶשׁ־לָנוּhave-weמַעֲלָהadvantageיְתֵרָהthe-moreלֹאnoבִמְאוּמָהin-no-wiseכְּבָרalreadyהוֹכַחְנוּwe-have-provedשֶׁגַּם־הַיְּהוּדִיםthat-both-Jewsגַּם־הַיְּוָנִיםand-Gentilesכֻּלָּםall-of-themתַּחַתunderהַחֵטְא׃sin

    What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

    כַּכָּתוּבas-it-is-writtenאֵיןthere-is-noneצַדִּיקrighteousאֵיןthere-isגַּם־אֶחָד׃not-one

    As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

    אֵיןthere-is-noneמַשְׂכִּילthat-understandethאֵין־דֹּרֵשׁthere-is-none-that-seekethאֶת־אֱלֹהִים׃after-God

    There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

  12. 12

    הַכֹּלthey-are-allסָרgone-out-of-the-wayיַחְדָּוtogetherנֶאֱלָחוּbecome-unprofitableאֵיןthere-is-noneעֹשֵׂה־טוֹבthat-doeth-goodאֵיןthere-isגַּם־אֶחָד׃not-one

    They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

    קֶבֶרa-sepulchreפָּתוּחַopenגְּרוֹנָםtheir-throat-isלְשׁוֹנָםwith-their-tonguesיַחֲלִיקוּןthey-have-used-deceitחֲמַתthe-poison-ofעַכְשׁוּבaspsתַּחַתis-underשְׂפָתֵימוֹ׃their-lips

    Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

    אֲשֶׁרwhoseאָלָהcursingפִּיהֶםmouthמָלֵאis-full-ofוּמְרֹרוֹת׃and-bitterness

    Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

    רַגְלֵיהֶםtheir-feetיְמַהֲרוּare-swiftלִשְׁפׇּךְ־דָּם׃to-shed-blood

    Their feet are swift to shed blood:

  16. 16

    שֹׁדdestructionוָשֶׁבֶרand-miseryבִּמְסִלּוֹתָם׃are-in-their-ways

    Destruction and misery are in their ways:

  17. 17

    וְדֶרֶךְand-the-way-ofשָׁלוֹםpeaceלֹאnotיָדָעוּ׃have-they-known

    And the way of peace have they not known:

  18. 18

    אֵיןthere-is-noפַּחַדfear-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodלְנֶגֶדbeforeעֵינֵיהֶם׃their-eyes

    There is no fear of God before their eyes.

  19. 19

    וַאֲנַחְנוּnow-weיָדַעְנוּknowכִּיthatכׇל־מַה־שֶּׁאָמְרָהwhat-things-soever-saithהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawמְדַבֶּרֶתit-saithלָאֵלֶּהto-themשֶׁעוֹלthat-the-yoke-ofהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawעֲלֵיהֶםis-upon-themכְּדֵיthatשֶׁיִּסָּכֵרmay-be-stoppedכׇּל־פֶּהevery-mouthוִיהִיand-may-becomeכׇל־הָעוֹלָםall-the-worldחַיָּבguiltyלִפְנֵיbeforeאֱלֹהִים׃God

    Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

    מִפְּנֵיthereforeשֶׁמִּמַּעֲשֵׂיby-the-deeds-ofהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawלֹא־יִצְדַּקshall-be-justified-noלְפָנָיוin-his-sightכׇּל־בָּשָׂרfleshכִּיforעַל־יְדֵיbyהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawדַּעַתis-the-knowledge-ofהַחֵטְא׃sin

    Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

    וְעַתָּהbut-nowבִּבְלִיwithoutתוֹרָהthe-lawצִדְקַתthe-righteousness-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodיָצְאָהisלָאוֹרmanifestedאֲשֶׁרbeingהֵעִידוּwitnessedעָלֶיהָto-itהַתּוֹרָהby-the-lawוְהַנְּבִיאִים׃and-the-prophets

    But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

    וְהִיאevenצִדְקַתthe-righteousness-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodבֶּאֱמוּנַתby-the-faith-ofיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַChristאֶל־כֹּלunto-allוְעַל־כֹּלand-upon-allאֲשֶׁרthatהֶאֱמִינוּbelieveבוֹin-himכִּיforאֵיןthere-is-noלְהַבְדִּיל׃difference

    Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

    כִּי־כֻלָּםfor-allחָטָאוּhave-sinnedוְחַסְרֵי־כְבוֹדand-come-short-of-the-glory-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodהֵמָּה׃they

    For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

  24. 24

    וְנִצְדְּקוּbeing-justifiedחִנָּםfreelyבְּחַסְדּוֹby-his-graceעַל־יְדֵיthroughהַפְּדוּתthe-redemptionאֲשֶׁרthatהָיְתָהisבַּמָּשִׁיחַin-Christיֵשׁוּעַ׃Jesus

    Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

  25. 25

    אֲשֶׁרwhomשָׂמוֹhath-set-forthהָאֱלֹהִיםGodלְפָנֵינוּpubliclyלְכַפֹּרֶתa-propitiationעַל־יְדֵיthroughהָאֱמוּנָהfaithבְּדָמוֹin-his-bloodלְהַרְאוֹתto-declareאֶת־צִדְקָתוֹhis-righteousnessאַחֲרֵיfor-thatאֲשֶׁרwhichהֶעֱבִירhe-passed-overאֶת־הַחֲטָאִיםthe-sinsהָרִאשֹׁנִיםformerבְּעֵתin-the-time-ofחֶמְלָתוֹ׃his-forbearance

    Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

    לְהַרְאוֹתto-declareאֶת־צִדְקָתוֹhis-righteousnessבָּעֵתat-the-timeהַזֹּאתthisכִּיthatצַדִּיקjustהוּאhe-isוּמַצְדִּיקand-the-justifier-ofאֶת־בֶּן־אֱמוּנַתhim-of-the-faith-ofיֵשׁוּעַ׃Jesus

    To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

    וּבְכֵןthenאַיֵּהwhere-isתְּהִלַּתthe-boasting-ofהַמִּתְהַלֵּלhim-that-boastethהֲלֹאis-it-notאָבָדָהexcludedוְעַל־יְדֵיbyאֵיזוּwhatתוֹרָהlawהַעַל־יְדֵי־תוֹרַתof-the-law-ofהַמַּעֲשִׂיםworksלֹאnayכִּיbutעַל־יְדֵיbyתּוֹרַתthe-law-ofהָאֱמוּנָה׃faith

    Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

    לָכֵןthereforeדָּנִיםconcludeאֲנַחְנוּweשֶׁבֶּאֱמוּנָהthat-by-faithיִצְדַּקis-justifiedהָאָדָםa-manבִּבְלִיwithoutמַעֲשֵׂיthe-deeds-ofתוֹרָה׃the-law

    Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

    אוֹorהֲרַקis-he-onlyאֱלֹהֵיthe-God-ofהַיְּהוּדִיםthe-Jewsהָאֱלֹהִיםis-Godהֲלֹאis-he-notגַםalsoאֱלֹהֵיthe-God-ofהַגּוֹיִםthe-Gentilesאָכֵןyesגַּם־אֱלֹהֵיalso-the-God-ofהַגּוֹיִםthe-Gentilesהוּא׃he-is

    Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

  30. 30

    כִּיseeingאֶחָדoneהָאֱלֹהִיםGodהַמַּצְדִּיקwhich-shall-justifyאֶת־הַמּוּלִיםthe-circumcisionמִתּוֹךְbyהָאֱמוּנָהfaithוְאֶת־הָעֲרֵלִיםand-the-uncircumcisionעַל־יְדֵיthroughהָאֱמוּנָה׃faith

    Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

  31. 31

    הַמְבַטְּלִיםdo-we-make-voidאֵפוֹאthenאֲנַחְנוּweאֶת־הַתּוֹרָהthe-lawעַל־יְדֵיthroughהָאֱמוּנָהfaithחָלִילָהGod-forbidאַךְyeaמְקַיְּמִיםestablishאֲנַחְנוּweאֶת־הַתּוֹרָה׃the-law

    Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
