   אִםimifמַה־הוּאma-huwhat isיִתְרוֹןyit/RONthe advantage ofהַיְּהוּדִיhay/Ye/hu/DIthe Jewוּמַה־הִיאu/MA-hiand what isתּוֹעֶלֶתto/E/letthe profit ofהַמִּילָה׃ham/mi/LAcircumcision

   What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?

2. 2

   הַרְבֵּהhar/BEmuchמִכׇּל־פָּנִיםmik/KOL-pa/NIMin every wayרִאשׁוֹנָהri/sho/NAfirstכִּיkibecauseבְיָדָםve/ya/DAMin their handהׇפְקְדוּhof/ke/DUwere entrustedדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe words ofאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

   Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

3. 3

   כִּיkiforמָהmawhatאִם־מִקְצָתָםim-mik/tsa/TAMif someלֹאlonotהֶאֱמִינוּhe/e/MI/nubelievedהֲיָפֵרha/ya/FERwill it annulחֶסְרוֹןches/RONthe lack ofאֱמוּנָתָםe/mu/na/TAMtheir faithאֶת־אֱמוּנַתet-e/mu/NATthe faith ofאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

   For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

   חָלִילָהcha/LI/lafar be itאַךְakhbutהָאֵלha/ELGodיְהִיye/HIlet beנֶאֱמָןne/e/MANfaithfulוְכׇל־הָאָדָםve/KHOL-ha/a/DAMand every manכֹּזֵבko/ZEVa liarכַּכָּתוּבkak/ka/TUVas it is writtenלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתִּצְדַּקtits/DAKYou may be justifiedבִּדְבָרֶיךָbid/va/RE/khain Your wordsוְתוּכַלve/tu/KHALand You may prevailבְּהִשָּׁפְטֶךָ׃be/hish/sha/fe/te/KHAwhen You are judged

   God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

   וְאִם־עַוְלָתֵנוּve/IM-av/la/te/NUand if our unrighteousnessתּוֹדִיעַto/DI/amakes knownאֶת־צִדְקַתet-tsid/KATthe righteousness ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodמַה־נֹּאמַרma-NO/marwhat shall we sayהֲיֶשׁ־עָוֶלha/YESH-A/velis there injusticeבָּאֱלֹהִיםba/e/lo/HIMin Godהַנֹּקֵםhan/no/KEMwho takes vengeanceכְּדַבֵּרke/dab/BERas speaksאָדָםa/DAMa manאֲנִיa/NIIמְדַבֵּר׃me/dab/BERspeak

   But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)

   חָלִילָהcha/LI/lafar be itכִּיkiforאִם־כֵּןim-kenif soאֵיךְekhhowיִשְׁפֹּטyish/POTwill judgeהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֶת־הָעוֹלָם׃et-ha/o/LAMthe world

   God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

7. 7

   כִּיkiforאִם־בְּכָזְבִיim-be/kha/ze/VIif by my lieתִּפְרֹץtif/ROTShas more aboundedאֱמֶתe/METthe truth ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלִכְבוֹדוֹlikh/vo/DOto His gloryלָמָּהLAM/mawhyאֶשָּׁפֵטesh/sha/FETam I judgedעוֹדodstillגַּם־אֲנִיgam-a/NII alsoכְּחוֹטֵא׃ke/cho/TEas a sinner

   For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

   וְלָמָּהve/LAM/maand whyלֹאlonotנַעֲשֶׂהna/a/SEshould we doכִּדְבַרkid/VARas the word ofמְחָרֲפֵינוּme/cha/ra/fe/NUthose who revile usוּמוֹצִיאֵיu/mo/tsi/Eand those who bring outדִבָּהdib/BAan evil reportעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuagainst usוְכַאֲשֶׁרve/kha/a/SHERand asיֹאמְרוּyo/me/RUaffirmאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenכִּיkithatאֹמְרִיםom/RIMsayאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweנַעֲשֶׂהna/a/SElet us doהָרַעha/RAevilלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיָבֹאya/VOmay comeהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדִינָםdi/NAMtheir judgmentצֶדֶק׃TSE/dekis righteous

   And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

   מָהmawhatאֵפוֹאe/FOthenהֲטוֹבִיםha/to/VIMare betterאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweמֵהֶםme/HEMthan theyלֹאlonoבִמְאוּמָהvim/U/main anythingכִּיkiforכְבָרkhe/VARbeforeהוֹכַחְנוּho/khach/NUwe have shownכִּיkithatגַם־הַיְּהוּדִיםgam-Hay/ye/hu/DIMboth Jewsגַּם־הַגּוֹיִםgam-Hag/go/YIMand Gentilesכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themתַּחַתTA/chatare underהַחֵטְא׃ha/CHETsin

   What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

10. 10

    כַּכָּתוּבkak/ka/TUVas it is writtenאֵיןenthere is noצַדִּיקtsad/DIKrighteousאֵיןenthere is notגַּם־אֶחָד׃gam-e/CHADeven one

    As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

11. 11

    אֵיןenthere is noמַשְׂכִּילmas/KILone who understandsאֵין־דֹּרֵשׁen-do/RESHthere is no one seekingאֶת־אֱלֹהִים׃et-e/lo/HIMGod

    There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

12. 12

    הַכֹּלhak/KOLallסָרsarturned asideיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherנֶאֱלָחוּne/e/LA/chuthey became corruptאֵיןenthere is noעֹשֵׂה־טוֹבo/SE-tovone doing goodאֵיןenthere is notגַּם־אֶחָד׃gam-e/CHADeven one

    They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

    קֶבֶרKE/vera graveפָּתוּחַpa/TU/achopenגְּרוֹנָםge/ro/NAMtheir throat isלְשׁוֹנָםle/sho/NAMtheir tongueיַחֲלִיקוּןya/cha/LI/kunthey make smoothחֲמַתcha/MATthe venom ofעַכְשׁוּבakh/SHUVan aspתַּחַתTA/chatis underשְׂפָתֵימוֹ׃se/fa/TE/motheir lips

    Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

14. 14

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseאָלָהa/LAcursingפִּיהֶםpi/HEMtheir mouthמָלֵאma/LEis full ofוּמְרֹרוֹת׃u/me/ro/ROTand bitterness

    Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

15. 15

    רַגְלֵיהֶםrag/le/HEMtheir feetיְמַהֲרוּye/ma/ha/RUhurryלִשְׁפׇּךְ־דָּם׃lish/POKH-damto shed blood

    Their feet are swift to shed blood:

16. 16

    שֹׁדshoddevastationוָשֶׁבֶרva/SHE/verand ruinבִּמְסִלּוֹתָם׃bim/sil/lo/TAMare in their highways

    Destruction and misery are in their ways:

17. 17

    וְדֶרֶךְve/DE/rekhand the way ofשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceלֹאlonotיָדָעוּ׃ya/DA/uhave they known

    And the way of peace have they not known:

18. 18

    אֵיןenthere is noפַּחַדPA/chadthe dread ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלְנֶגֶדle/NE/gedbeforeעֵינֵיהֶם׃e/ne/HEMtheir eyes

    There is no fear of God before their eyes.

19. 19

    וַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuand weיָדַעְנוּya/DA/nuknowכִּיkithatכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHERall thatתֹּאמַרto/MARsaysהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawמְדַבֶּרֶתme/dab/BE/retspeaksלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERto them who areתַּחַתTA/chatunderהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִסָּכֵרyis/sa/KHERwill be stoppedכׇּל־פֶּהkol-peevery mouthוִיהִיvi/HIand may beכׇל־הָעוֹלָםkhol-ha/o/LAMall the worldאָשֵׁםa/SHEMguiltyלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

20. 20

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeמִמַּעֲשֵׂיmim/ma/a/SEby the deeds ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawלֹא־יִצְדַּקlo-yits/DAKwill not be justifiedלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore Himכׇּל־בָּשָׂרkol-ba/SARall fleshכִּיkiforעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEbyהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawדַּעַתDA/atis the knowledge ofהַחֵטְא׃ha/CHETsin

    Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

21. 21

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבִּבְלִיbiv/LIwithoutתוֹרָהto/RAlawצִדְקַתtsid/KATthe righteousness ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodנִגְלְתָהnig/le/TAis manifestedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהֵעִידוּhe/I/dutestifiedעָלֶיהָa/LE/haabout itהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawוְהַנְּבִיאִים׃ve/han/ne/vi/IMand the prophets

    But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

22. 22

    וְהִיאve/HIand it isצִדְקַתtsid/KATthe righteousness ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבֶּאֱמוּנַתbe/e/mu/NATby the faith ofיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahאֶל־כֹּלel-kolto allוְעַל־כֹּלve/AL-koland on allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֶאֱמִינוּhe/e/MI/nubelieveכִּיkiforאֵיןenthere is noלְהַבְדִּיל׃le/hav/DILdistinguishing

    Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

23. 23

    כִּי־כֻלָּםki-khul/LAMfor all of themחָטָאוּcha/TA/uhave sinnedוְחַסְרֵי־כְבוֹדve/chas/RE-khe/VODand lacking the glory ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodהֵמָּה׃HEM/mathey are

    For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

24. 24

    וְנִצְדְּקוּve/nits/de/KUand they are justifiedחִנָּםchin/NAMfreelyבְּחַסְדּוֹbe/chas/DOby His graceעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughהַפְּדוּתhap/pe/DUTthe redemptionאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבַּמָּשִׁיחַbam/Ma/SHI/achin the Messiahיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aJesus

    Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25. 25

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomשָׂמוֹsa/MOset himהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלְפָנֵינוּle/fa/NE/nubefore usלְכַפֹּרֶתle/khap/PO/retas a mercy seatעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughהָאֱמוּנָהha/e/mu/NAfaithבְּדָמוֹbe/da/MOin his bloodלְהַרְאוֹתle/har/OTto showאֶת־צִדְקָתוֹet-tsid/ka/TOHis righteousnessלִסְלִיחַתlis/li/CHATfor the forgiveness ofהַחֲטָאִיםha/cha/ta/IMsinsהָרִאשֹׁנִיםha/ri/sho/NIMformerבְּחֶמְלַתbe/chem/LATin the mercy ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

26. 26

    לְהַרְאוֹתle/har/OTto showאֶת־צִדְקָתוֹet-tsid/ka/TOHis righteousnessבָּעֵתba/ETat the timeהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisכִּיkithatצַדִּיקtsad/DIKrighteousהוּאhuHe isוּמַצְדִּיקu/mats/DIKand justifiesאֶת־הַמַּאֲמִיןet-ham/ma/a/MINthe one who believesבְּיֵשׁוּעַ׃be/Ye/SHU/ain Jesus

    To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

27. 27

    וּבְכֵןu/ve/KHENand soאַיֵּהay/YEwhere isהַתְּהִלָּהhat/te/hil/LAboastingאָבָדָהa/VA/dait has perishedוְעַל־יְדֵיve/AL-ye/DEand byאֵי־זוֹe-zowhatתוֹרָהto/RAlawהַעַל־יְדֵי־תוֹרַתHA/al-ye/DE-to/RATis it by the law ofהַמַּעֲשִׂיםham/ma/a/SIMthe worksלֹאlonoכִּיkibutעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEbyתּוֹרַתto/RATthe law ofהָאֱמוּנָה׃ha/e/mu/NAfaith

    Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

28. 28

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeחֹשְׁבִיםchosh/VIMconcludeאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweכִּיkithatבֶאֱמוּנָהve/e/mu/NAby faithיִצְדַּקyits/DAKis justifiedהָאָדָםha/a/DAMmanבִּבְלִיbiv/LIwithoutמַעֲשֵׂיma/a/SEthe works ofתוֹרָה׃to/RAlaw

    Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

29. 29

    אוֹoorהֲרַקha/RAKis onlyאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsהוּאhuis Heהֲלֹאha/LOis He notגַםgamalsoאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/Go/YIMthe Gentilesאָכֵןa/KHENyesגַּם־אֱלֹהֵיgam-e/lo/HEalso the God ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/Go/YIMthe Gentilesהוּא׃huHe is

    Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

30. 30

    כִּיkisinceאֶחָדe/CHADoneהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMis Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיַצְדִּיקyats/DIKwill justifyאֶת־הַמּוּלִיםet-ham/mu/LIMthe circumcisedבָּאֱמוּנָהba/e/mu/NAby faithוְאֶת־הָעֲרֵלִיםve/ET-ha/a/re/LIMand the uncircumcisedעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughהָאֱמוּנָה׃ha/e/mu/NAfaith

    Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

31. 31

    הֲנָפֵרha/na/FERdo we make voidאֵפוֹאe/FOthenאֶת־הַתּוֹרָהet-hat/to/RAthe lawעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughהָאֱמוּנָהha/e/mu/NAfaithחָלִילָהcha/LI/lafar be itאַךְakhbutמְקִימִיםme/ki/MIMestablishאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweאֶת־הַתּוֹרָה׃et-hat/to/RAthe law

    Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
