   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכׇּל־בֶּן־הָאָדָםkol-ben-ha/a/DAMevery son of manהַדָּןhad/DANwho judgesאֵיןenthere is noלְךָle/KHAto youפִּתְחוֹןpit/CHONan opening ofפֶּהpemouthכִּיkiforבַדָּבָרvad/da/VARin the thingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתָּדִיןta/DINyou judgeאֶת־חֲבֵרְךָet-cha/ver/KHAyour companionתַּרְשִׁיעַtar/SHI/ayou condemnנַפְשְׁךָnaf/she/KHAyour soulבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERbecauseאַתָּהat/TAyouהַדָּןhad/DANwho judgesתַּעֲשֶׂהta/a/SEdoכְמַעֲשֵׂהוּ׃khe/ma/a/SE/huaccording to his deeds

   Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

   וְיָדַעְנוּve/ya/DA/nuand we knowכִּי־מִשְׁפַּטki-mish/PATthat the judgment ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodמִשְׁפַּטmish/PATis a judgment ofאֱמֶתe/METtruthעַל־עֹשֵׂיal-o/SEagainst the doers ofאֵלֶּה׃EL/lethese

   But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

3. 3

   וְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youבֶן־אָדָםven-a/DAMson of manהַדָּןhad/DANwho judgesאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־פָּעֲלוּet-a/SHER-pa/a/LUthose who didכָאֵלֶּהkha/EL/lesuch thingsוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youעֹשֶׂהo/SEdoכְמַעֲשֵׂיהֶםkhe/ma/a/se/HEMaccording to their deedsהֲתֹאמַרha/to/MARdo you thinkלְהִמָּלֵטle/him/ma/LETto escapeמִמִּשְׁפַּטmim/mish/PATthe judgment ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

   And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

   אוֹoorתָבוּזta/VUZdo you despiseלְעֹשֶׁרle/O/sherthe riches ofטוּבוֹtu/VOHis goodnessוּלְחֶמְלָתוֹu/le/chem/la/TOand His forbearanceוּלְאֹרֶךְu/le/O/rekhand the length ofאַפּוֹap/POHis angerוְלֹאve/LOand notתֵדַעte/DAknowingכִּי־טוֹבַתki-to/VATthat the goodness ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodמְבִיאָהme/vi/Aleadsאֹתְךָot/KHAyouאֶלeltoהַתְּשׁוּבָה׃hat/te/shu/VArepentance

   Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

   וּבִקְשִׁיu/vik/SHIand by the hardness ofלְבָבְךָle/va/ve/KHAyour heartהַמְמָאֵןham/ma/ENthat refusesלָשׁוּבla/SHUVto returnתִּצְבֹּרtits/BORyou heap upלְךָle/KHAfor yourselfעֶבְרָהev/RAwrathלְיוֹםle/YOMfor the day ofעֶבְרַתev/RATthe wrath ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוְהִגָּלוֹתve/hig/ga/LOTand the revealing ofמִשְׁפַּטmish/PATthe judgment ofצִדְקוֹ׃tsid/KOHis righteousness

   But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיְשַׁלֵּםye/shal/LEMwill repayלְאִישׁle/ISHto each manכְּמַעֲשֵׂהוּ׃ke/ma/a/SE/huaccording to his deeds

   Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

   חַיֵּיchay/YEthe life ofעוֹלָםo/LAMeternityלַשֹּׁקְדִיםlash/shok/DIMto those who persistלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodוְשֹׁחֲרֵיve/sho/cha/REand seekers ofכָבוֹדkha/VODgloryוְהָדָרve/ha/DARand splendorוְאַל־מָוֶת׃ve/AL-MA/vetand immortality

   To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

8. 8

   וְעַל־בְּנֵיve/AL-be/NEand on the sons ofהַמֶּרִיham/ME/rirebellionוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whoלֹא־שָׁמְעוּlo-sha/me/Udo not listenלָאֱמֶתla/e/METto the truthכִּיkibutאִםimratherשָׁמְעוּ־לָעַוְלָהsha/me/U-la/av/LAlisten to unrighteousnessעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themחֲרוֹן־אַףcha/RON-afburning angerוְחֵמָה׃ve/che/MAand wrath

   But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

   צָרָהtsa/RAtroubleוּמְצוּקָהu/me/tsu/KAand distressעַל־כׇּל־נֶפֶשׁal-kol-NE/feshon every soul ofאָדָםa/DAMmanעֹשֶׂהo/SEwho doesהָרָעha/RAevilעַל־הַיְּהוּדִיal-Hay/ye/hu/DIon the Jewבַתְּחִלָּהvat/te/chil/LAfirstוְגַם־עַל־הַיְּוָנִי׃ve/GAM-al-hay/ye/va/NIand also on the Greek

   Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

10. 10

    וְכָבוֹדve/kha/VODand gloryוְהָדָרve/ha/DARand splendorוְשָׁלוֹםve/sha/LOMand peaceלְכׇל־עֹשֶׂהle/KHOL-o/SEto everyone who doesהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodלַיְּהוּדִיlay/Ye/hu/DIto the Jewבַתְּחִלָּהvat/te/chil/LAfirstוְגַםve/GAMand alsoלַיְּוָנִי׃lay/Ye/va/NIto the Greek

    But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

11. 11

    כִּיkiforאֵיןenthere is noמַשֹּׂאmas/SOlifting ofפָנִיםfa/NIMfacesעִם־הָאֱלֹהִים׃im-ha/e/lo/HIMwith God

    For there is no respect of persons with God.

12. 12

    כִּיkiforכׇל־אֲשֶׁרkhol-a/SHERall whoחָטְאוּcha/te/Usinnedוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noלָהֶםla/HEMto themתּוֹרָהto/RAlawגַּםgamalsoבִּבְלִי־תוֹרָהbiv/LI-to/RAwithout lawיֹאבֵדוּyo/VE/duwill perishוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand those whoחָטְאוּcha/te/Usinnedוְלָהֶםve/la/HEMand to themתּוֹרָהto/RAis lawעַל־פִּיal-pibyהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawיִשָּׁפֵטוּ׃yish/sha/fe/TUwill be judged

    For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

13. 13

    כִּיkiforלֹאlonotשֹׁמְעֵיshom/Ethe hearers ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawצַדִּיקִיםtsad/di/KIMare righteousלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodכִּיkibutאִםimratherעֹשֵׂיo/SEthe doers ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawהֵםhemtheyיִצְדָּקוּ׃yits/da/KUwill be justified

    (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

14. 14

    כִּיkiforהַגּוֹיִםhag/Go/YIMthe Gentilesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoאֵין־לָהֶםen-la/HEMhave noתּוֹרָהto/RAlawבַּעֲשׂוֹתָםba/a/so/TAMwhen they doכְּדִבְרֵיke/div/REaccording to the words ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawמֵאֲלֵיהֶםme/a/le/HEMof themselvesגַּם־בְּאֵיןgam-be/ENalso withoutתּוֹרָהto/RAlawהֵםhemthey areתּוֹרָהto/RAa lawלְנַפְשָׁם׃le/naf/SHAMto themselves

    For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

15. 15

    בְּהַרְאוֹתָםbe/har/o/TAMin showingמַעֲשֵׂהma/a/SEthe work ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawכָּתוּבka/TUVwrittenעַל־לִבָּםal-lib/BAMon their heartוְכִלְיוֹתֵיהֶםve/khil/yo/te/HEMand their kidneysמְעִידוֹתme/i/DOTbearing witnessבָהֶםva/HEMin themוּמַחְשְׁבוֹתָםu/mach/she/vo/TAMand their thoughtsבְּקִרְבָּםbe/kir/BAMwithin themשֹׂטְנוֹתsot/NOTaccusingזֹאתzotoneאֶת־זֹאתet-zotanotherאוֹoorמַצְדִּיקוֹת׃mats/di/KOTexcusing

    Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

16. 16

    בְּיוֹםbe/YOMon the dayאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhenיִשְׁפֹּטyish/POTwill judgeהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֶת־כׇּל־תַּעֲלֻמוֹתet-kol-ta/a/lu/MOTall the hidden things ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofהָאָדָםha/a/DAMmanבְּיַדbe/YADby the hand ofיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahכְּפִיke/FIaccording toבְשׂוֹרָתִי׃ve/so/ra/TImy gospel

    In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

17. 17

    הֵןhenbeholdאַתָּהat/TAyouנִקְרָאnik/RAare calledבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMby the nameיְהוּדִיYe/hu/DIa Jewוְנִשְׁעַנְתָּve/nish/AN/taand you leanעַל־הַתּוֹרָהal-hat/to/RAon the lawוְתִתְהַלֵּלve/tit/hal/LELand make your boastבֵּאלֹהִים׃be/lo/HIMin God

    Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,

18. 18

    וְיָדַעְתָּve/ya/da/TAand you knowאֶת־רְצוֹנוֹet-re/tso/NOHis willוְתָבִיןve/ta/VINand you discernבֵּין־טוֹבben-tovbetween goodלָרַעla/RAand evilבְּהַשְׂכִּילְךָbe/has/ki/le/KHAbeing instructedבַתּוֹרָה׃vat/to/RAin the law

    And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;

19. 19

    וּבָטַחְתָּu/va/TACH/taand you trustבְנַפְשְׁךָve/naf/she/KHAin yourselfלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beמוֹלִיךְmo/LIKHa leader ofהָעִוְרִיםha/iv/RIMthe blindוְאוֹרve/ORand a lightלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERto those who areבַּחֹשֶׁךְ׃ba/CHO/shekhin darkness

    And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,

20. 20

    אֹמֵןo/MENa tutor ofלְחַסְרֵיle/chas/REthose lackingלֵבlevheartוּמוֹרֵהu/mo/REand a teacher ofהָעוֹלָלִיםha/o/la/LIMbabesוְיֵשׁve/YESHand there isלְךָle/KHAto youצוּרַתtsu/RATthe form ofהַמַּדָּעham/mad/DAknowledgeוְהָאֱמֶתve/ha/e/METand truthבַּתּוֹרָה׃bat/to/RAin the law

    An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.

21. 21

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youהֲתוֹרֶהha/to/REdo you teachאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMothersוְנַפְשְׁךָve/naf/she/KHAand yourselfלֹאlonotתוֹרֶהto/REyou teachהֲתֹאמַרha/to/MARdo you sayלֹאlonotתִגְנֹבtig/NOVstealוְהִנְּךָve/hin/ne/KHAand behold youגֹנֵב׃go/NEVsteal

    Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?

22. 22

    הֲתֹאמַרha/to/MARdo you sayלֹאlonotתִנְאָףtin/AFcommit adulteryוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youנֹאֵףno/EFcommit adulteryתְּשַׁקֵּץte/shak/KETSyou detestאֶת־הָאֱלִילִיםet-ha/e/li/LIMthe idolsוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youגֹּזֵלgo/ZELrobאֶת־הַקֳּדָשִׁים׃et-hak/ko/da/SHIMthe holy things

    Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?

23. 23

    תִּתְהַלֵּלtit/hal/LELyou boastבַּתּוֹרָהbat/to/RAin the lawוַתְּנַבֵּלvat/te/nab/BELand you disgraceאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodבְּעָבְרְךָbe/a/ve/re/KHAby your transgressingאֶת־הַתּוֹרָה׃et-hat/to/RAthe law

    Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?

24. 24

    כִּיkiforבִגְלַלְכֶםvig/lal/KHEMbecause of youשֵׁםshemthe name ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodמְחֻלָּלme/chul/LALis profanedבַּגּוֹיִםbag/go/YIMamong the nationsכַּכָּתוּב׃kak/ka/TUVas it is written

    For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.

25. 25

    הֵןhenbeholdהַמִּילָהham/mi/LAcircumcisionתוֹעִילto/ILprofitsאִם־תִּשְׁמֹרim-tish/MORif you keepאֶת־הַתּוֹרָהet-hat/to/RAthe lawאֲבָלa/VALbutאִם־עֹבֵרim-o/VERif a transgressor ofאַתָּהat/TAyou areאֶת־הַתּוֹרָהet-hat/to/RAthe lawמִילָתְךָmi/la/te/KHAyour circumcisionהָיְתָה־לְּךָha/ye/TA-le/KHAhas become to youלְעׇרְלָה׃le/or/LAuncircumcision

    For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.

26. 26

    וְאִם־יִשְׁמֹרve/IM-yish/MORand if keepsהֶעָרֵלhe/a/RELthe uncircumcisedאֶת־מִשְׁפְּטֵיet-mish/pe/TEthe ordinances ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawהֲלֹאha/LOwill notתֵחָשֶׁב־לוֹte/CHA/shev-lobe counted to himעׇרְלָתוֹor/la/TOhis uncircumcisionלְמִילָה׃le/mi/LAfor circumcision

    Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?

27. 27

    וְהֶעָרֵלve/he/a/RELand the uncircumcisedמִלֵּדָהmil/le/DAfrom birthהַמְקַיֵּםham/kay/YEMwho fulfillsאֶת־הַתּוֹרָהet-hat/to/RAthe lawהוּאhuheיִשְׁפֹּטyish/POTwill judgeאֹתְךָot/KHAyouאֲשֶׁר־לְךָa/SHER-le/KHAwho haveהַכְּתָבhak/ke/TAVthe letterוְהַמִּילָהve/ham/mi/LAand circumcisionוְעָבַרְתָּve/a/VAR/taand you transgressאֶת־הַתּוֹרָה׃et-hat/to/RAthe law

    And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?

28. 28

    כִּיkiforלֹאlonotלְמַרְאֵהle/mar/Eto the sight ofעֵינַיִםe/NA/yimeyesהוּאhuisהַיְּהוּדִיhay/Ye/hu/DIthe Jewוְלֹאve/LOand notהָאוֹתha/OTthe signהַנִּרְאָהhan/nir/Athat is seenבַבָּשָׂרvab/ba/SARin the fleshהִיאhiisהַמִּילָה׃ham/mi/LAthe circumcision

    For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

29. 29

    כִּיkibutאִם־בְּקִרְבּוֹim-be/kir/BOrather withinהוּאhuhe isיְהוּדִיYe/hu/DIa Jewוּמִילָהu/mi/LAand circumcisionהִיאhiisבַּלֵּבbal/LEVin the heartכְּפִיke/FIaccording toהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritוְלֹאve/LOand notכְּפִיke/FIaccording toהַכְּתָבhak/ke/TAVthe letterאֲשֶׁר־לֹאa/SHER-lowhose notמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEfrom the sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenתְּהִלָּתוֹte/hil/la/TOis his praiseכִּיkibutאִם־מֵאֵתim-me/ETrather fromהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
