    Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

    אֲשֶׁרwhichהִבְטִיחַhe-had-promisedאֹתָהּitמֵרֹאשׁaforeעַל־יְדֵיbyנְבִיאָיוhis-prophetsבְּכִתְבֵיin-the-scriptures-ofהַקֹּדֶשׁ׃the-holy

    (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)

    עַל־דְּבַרconcerningבְּנוֹhis-Sonאֲשֶׁרwhichמִזֶּרַעof-the-seed-ofדָּוִדDavidלְפִיaccording-toהַבָּשָׂרthe-fleshהוּאevenיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַChristאֲדֹנֵינוּ׃our-Lord

    Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

    אֲשֶׁרandהוּכַןdeclared-to-beלְבֶן־הָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Son-of-Godבִּגְבוּרָהwith-powerלְפִיaccording-toרוּחַthe-Spirit-ofהַקְּדֻשָּׁהholinessבִּתְחִיָּתוֹby-his-resurrectionמִבֵּיןfromהַמֵּתִים׃the-dead

    And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

    אֲשֶׁר־עַל־יָדוֹby-whomנִתַּןwas-givenלָנוּusחֶסֶדgraceוּשְׁלִיחוּתand-apostleshipלְהָקִיםto-raise-upמִשְׁמַעַתobedience-ofהָאֱמוּנָהthe-faithבְּכׇל־הַגּוֹיִםamong-all-nationsלְמַעַןforשְׁמוֹ׃his-name

    By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

    וּבְתוֹכָםamong-whomהִנְּכֶםare-youגַּם־אַתֶּםalsoקְרוּאֵיthe-called-ofיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃Christ

    Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:

    כׇּל־יְדִידֵיall-the-beloved-ofהָאֱלֹהִיםGodוּמְקֹרָאִיםand-calledלִהְיוֹתto-beקְדוֹשִׁיםsaintsאֲשֶׁרwhich-areבְּרוֹמִיin-Romeחֶסֶדgraceוְשָׁלוֹםand-peaceלָכֶםto-youמֵאֵתfromהָאֱלֹהִיםGodאָבִינוּour-Fatherוַאֲדֹנֵינוּand-the-LordיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃Christ

    To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

    בָּרִאשׁוֹנָהfirstמוֹדֶהthankאֲנִיIלֵאלֹהַיmy-Godבְּיֵשׁוּעַthrough-JesusהַמָּשִׁיחַChristעַל־כֻּלְּכֶםfor-you-allאֲשֶׁרthatאֱמוּנַתְכֶםyour-faithמוּדַעַתis-spoken-ofבְּכׇל־הָעוֹלָם׃throughout-the-whole-world

    First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

    כִּיforעֵדmy-witness-isהָאֱלֹהִיםGodאֲשֶׁרwhomאֲנִיIעֹבֵדserveאֹתוֹhimבְּרוּחִיwith-my-spiritבִּבְשׂוֹרַתin-the-gospel-ofבְּנוֹhis-Sonכִּיthatתָמִידwithout-ceasingאֲנִיIמַזְכִּירmake-mention-ofאֶתְכֶם׃you

    For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

    וּמִתְחַנֵּןmaking-requestאֲנִיIבְּכׇל־עֵתalwaysבִּתְפִילּוֹתַיin-my-prayersאֲשֶׁרthatאַצְלִיחַI-might-prosperלָבוֹאto-comeאֲלֵיכֶםunto-youרַק־הַפַּעַםnow-at-lengthבְּחֵפֶץby-the-will-ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃God

    Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.

    כִּיforכָלְתָהlongsנַפְשִׁיmy-soulלִרְאוֹתְכֶםto-see-youוּלְהַאֲצִילthat-I-may-impartאֲלֵיכֶםunto-youמַתַּתa-giftרוּחַspiritualלְמַעַןto-the-endחַזֵּקyou-may-be-establishedלִבְּכֶם׃your-hearts

    For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

    לְהִתְנַחֵםthat-I-may-be-comforted-togetherעִמָּכֶםwith-youאֲנִיIבֶאֱמוּנַתְכֶםby-your-faithוְאַתֶּםand-youבֶּאֱמוּנָתִי׃by-my-faith

    That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

    וְלֹא־אֲכַחֵדand-I-would-not-hideמִכֶּםfrom-youאַחַיbrethrenכִּי־פְעָמִיםthat...timesרַבּוֹתmanyשַׂמְתִּיI-purposedעַל־לִבִּיin-my-heartלָבוֹאto-comeאֲלֵיכֶםunto-youלִהְיוֹתthat-might-beלִיmineפְרִיfruitגַּם־בָּכֶםamong-you-alsoכְּמוֹeven-asבְּיֶתֶרamong-otherהַגּוֹיִםGentilesוְלֹא־עָלְתָהbut-I-was-letבְּיָדִיin-my-purposeעַד־הֵנָּה׃hitherto

    Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.

    מְחֻיָּבdebtorאָנֹכִיI-amלַיְּוָנִיםto-the-Greeksוְלַלּעֲזִיםand-to-the-Barbariansגַּםbothלַחֲכָמִיםto-the-wiseוְלַפְּתָאִים׃and-to-the-unwise

    I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.

    לָכֵןsoנְדָבַנִיis-readyלִבִּיmy-heartלְהַשְׁמִיעַto-preachאֶת־הַבְּשׂוֹרָהthe-gospelגַּם־אֶתְכֶםto-you-alsoבְּנֵיsons-ofרוֹמִי׃Rome

    So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

    כִּיforאֵינֶנִּיI-am-notבוֹשׁashamedמִבְּשׂוֹרַתof-the-gospel-ofהַמָּשִׁיחַChristאֲשֶׁרforגְּבוּרַתthe-power-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodהִיאit-isלִתְשׁוּעָהunto-salvationלְכׇל־הַמַּאֲמִיןto-every-one-that-believethלַיְּהוּדִיto-the-Jewרִאשׁוֹנָהfirstוְגַם־לַיְּוָנִי׃and-also-to-the-Greek

    For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

    כִּי־בָהּfor-thereinנִגְלְתָהis-revealedצִדְקַתthe-righteousness-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodמֵאֱמוּנָהfrom-faithאֶל־אֱמוּנָהto-faithכַּכָּתוּבas-it-is-writtenוְצַדִּיקand-the-justבֶּאֱמוּנָתוֹby-his-faithיִחְיֶה׃shall-live

    For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

    כִּיforנִגְלָהis-revealedחֲרוֹןthe-wrath-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםfrom-heavenעַלagainstכׇּל־רִשְׁעַתall-ungodliness-ofבְּנֵיthe-sons-ofאָדָםmenוְעַוְלָתָםand-their-unrighteousnessאֲשֶׁרwhoיַעַצְרוּholdאֶת־הָאֱמֶתthe-truthבְּעַוְלָה׃in-unrighteousness

    For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

    יַעַןbecauseאֲשֶׁרthatדַּעַתthe-knowledge-ofהָאֱלֹהִיםGodגְּלוּיָהis-manifestבְקִרְבָּםin-themכִּיforהָאֱלֹהִיםGodגִּלָּהhath-shewedלָהֶם׃it-unto-them

    Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

    כִּיforמַהוּתוֹhis-essenceהַנַּעֲלָמָהinvisibleהִיאit-isכֹּחוֹhis-powerתִּוָּדַעis-understoodבְּמַעֲשָׂיוby-his-worksוְתֵרָאֶהand-are-seenבָהֶםin-themגְּבוּרָתוֹhis-powerהַנִּצְחִיתeternalוֵאלָהוּתוֹand-Godheadמֵעֵתfrom-the-timeנִבְרָאwas-createdהָעוֹלָםthe-worldעַד־אֲשֶׁרso-thatאֵיןthere-is-noלָהֶםto-themפִּתְחוֹןopening-ofפֶּהmouthלְהִתְנַצֵּל׃to-excuse-themselves

    For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

    כִּיbecauseהִכִּירוּthey-knewאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםGodוְלֹא־כִבְּדֻהוּthey-glorified-him-notכֵאלֹהִיםas-Godוְגַם־לֹאneitherהוֹדוּgave-thanksלוֹhimכִּיbutאִם־הָלְכוּthey-walked-afterאַחֲרֵיafterהַהֶבֶלvanityבְּמוֹעֲצוֹתֵיהֶםin-their-imaginationsוַיֶּחְשַׁךְand-was-darkenedלִבָּםtheir-heartהַנִּבְעָר׃foolish

    Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

    וּבְאָמְרָםand-professingחֲכָמִיםwiseאֲנָחְנוּwe-areהָיוּthey-becameלִכְסִילִים׃fools

    Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

  23. 23

    וַיָּמִירוּand-changedאֶת־כְּבוֹדthe-glory-ofהָאֱלֹהִיםGodאֲשֶׁרwhichהוּאhe-isחַיlivingוְקַיָּםand-enduringבִּדְמוּתinto-the-likeness-ofצֶלֶםan-image-ofאָדָםmanאֲשֶׁרwhichהוּאhe-isכָלֶהcorruptibleוְהוֹלֵךְand-perishingצֶלֶםan-image-ofכׇּל־עוֹףall-birdsוְהוֹלֵךְand-things-that-goעַל־אַרְבַּעon-fourוְרֶמֶשׂand-creeping-things-ofהָאֲדָמָה׃the-earth

    And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

  24. 24

    עַל־כֵּןwhereforeגַּם־הָאֱלֹהִיםGod-alsoנְתָנָםgave-them-upלַטֻּמְאָהto-uncleannessבְּתַאֲוֹתthrough-the-lusts-ofלִבָּםtheir-heartsלְנַבֵּלto-dishonorגְּוִיּוֹתֵיהֶםtheir-bodiesאִישׁoneבְּרֵעֵהוּ׃with-another

    Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

  25. 25

    אֲשֶׁרwhoהֵמִירוּchangedאֲמִתּוֹthe-truth-ofשֶׁלofהָאֱלֹהִיםGodבַּשָּׁקֶרinto-a-lieוַיְכַבְּדוּand-worshipedאֶת־הַבְּרִיָּהthe-creatureלְעׇבְדָהּto-serve-itתַּחַתmore-thanבֹּרְאָהּthe-Creatorהַמְבֹרָךְwho-is-blessedלְעוֹלָמִיםfor-everאָמֵן׃Amen

    Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

    בַּעֲבוּרforזֹאתthis-causeנְתָנָםgave-them-upהָאֱלֹהִיםGodלְתַאֲוֹתunto-affections-ofבּוּשָׁהvileכִּי־נְשֵׁיהֶםfor-their-womenהֶחֱלִיפוּdid-changeאֶת־דֶּרֶךְthe-way-ofאֶרֶץnatureבְּשֶׁלּאinto-what-is-notכְּדֶרֶךְafter-the-way-ofאָרֶץ׃nature

    For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

    וְכֵןand-likewiseגַּם־הַזְּכָרִיםalso-the-menעָזְבוּleavingדֶרֶךְthe-use-ofגֶּבֶרa-manבְּאִשָּׁהwith-a-womanוַיֵּחַמּוּburnedזֶהoneבָזֶהtoward-anotherבְּתַאֲוָתָםin-their-lustוַיַּעֲשׂוּworkingתוֹעֵבָהunseemlinessזָכָרmenעִם־זָכָרwith-menוַיִּקְחוּand-receivingשְׂכַרthe-recompence-ofמְשׁוּבָתָםtheir-errorהָרָאוּיwhich-was-meetלָהֶםto-themבְּעֶצֶםinגּוּפָם׃their-body

    And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

  28. 28

    וְכַאֲשֶׁרand-even-asמָאֲסוּthey-rejectedדַּעַתthe-knowledge-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodנְתָנָםgave-them-overהָאֱלֹהִיםGodבִּידֵיtoדֵעָהa-mindנִמְאָסָהreprobateלַעֲשׂוֹתto-doאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־לֹאthose-things-which-notיֵעָשֶׂה׃are-convenient

    And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

    וַיִּרֶבand-aboundedבְּקִרְבָּםamong-themכׇּל־חָמָסall-unrighteousnessזְנוּתfornicationוָרֶשַׁעand-wickednessבֶּצַעcovetousnessוָאָוֶןand-maliciousnessוַיִּמָּלְאוּfull-ofקִנְאָהenvyוָרֶצַחand-murderוּמְרִיבָהand-debateוּמִרְמָהand-deceitוְתַהְפֻּכוֹתand-malignityהֹלְכֵיgoers-about-asרָכִיל׃whisperers,

    Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

  30. 30

    וּמַלְשִׁינִיםbackbitersשׂנְאֵיhaters-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodוְגֵאִיםdespitefulוְזֵדִיםproudוּמִתְהֹלֲלִיםboastersוְחשְׁבֵיinventors-ofאָוֶןevilוְלֹאnotשֹׁמְעִיםobedientבְּקוֹלto-the-voice-ofאֲבוֹתָם׃their-parents

    Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

  31. 31

    נִבְעָרִיםwithoutמִדַּעַתunderstandingוּבֹגְדִיםcovenantbreakersאַכְזָרִיםcruelנֹטְרֵיbearers-ofשִׂנְאָהmaliceוְלֹאand-notרַחֲמָנִים׃merciful

    Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

  32. 32

    יוֹדְעִיםknowingהֵמָּהtheyאֶת־מִשְׁפַּטthe-judgment-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodכִּי־עֹשֵׂיthat-doers-ofאֵלֶּהsuch-thingsבְּנֵי־מָוֶתworthy-of-deathהֵםareוְלֹאand-notלְבַדonlyשֶׁיַּעֲשׂוּthat-they-doאֶת־אֵלֶּהtheseכִּיbutגַם־רוֹצִיםalso-have-pleasureבְּעֹשֵׂיהֶם׃in-them-that-do-them

    Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
