   כׇּל־נֶפֶשׁkol-NE/feshevery soulתִּכָּנַעtik/ka/NAlet submitלַמֶּמְשָׁלוֹתlam/mem/sha/LOTto the powersהָעֶלְיוֹנוֹתha/el/yo/NOThigherכִּי־אֵיןki-enfor there is noמֶמְשָׁלָהmem/sha/LAauthorityכִּיkibutאִם־מֵאֵתim-me/ETrather fromהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוְהַמֶּמְשָׁלוֹתve/ham/mem/sha/LOTthe powersהַנִּמְצָאוֹתhan/nim/tsa/OTthat existמֵאֵתme/ETofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodמְמֻנּוֹת׃me/mun/NOTare ordained

   Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכׇּל־הַמִּתְקוֹמֵםkol-ham/mit/ko/MEMeveryone who rises up againstלַמֶּמְשָׁלָהlam/mem/sha/LAthe powerמִתְקוֹמֵםmit/ko/MEMresistsלְחֻקַּתle/chuk/KATthe statute ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוְהַמִּתְקוֹמְמִיםve/ham/mit/kom/MIMand they that resistיִקְחוּyik/CHUwill receiveלָהֶםla/HEMto themselvesדִּין׃dinjudgment

   Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

   כִּיkiforאֵיןenare notפַּחַדPA/chada terrorהַשַּׁלִּיטִיםhash/shal/li/TIMthe rulersלַמַּעֲשִׂיםlam/ma/a/SIMto worksהַטּוֹבִיםhat/to/VIMgoodכִּיkibutאִם־לָרָעִיםim-la/ra/IMrather to the evilהֲתַחְפֹּץha/tach/POTSdo you wantאֵפוֹאe/FOthenלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInotיְרֹאye/ROfearמִן־הַמֶּמְשָׁלָהmin-ham/mem/sha/LAof the powerעֲשֵׂהa/SEdoהַטּוֹבhat/TOVthe goodוְהָיָה־לְךָve/ha/YA-le/KHAand you will haveתְהִלָּהte/hil/LApraiseמֵאִתָּהּ׃me/it/TAfrom it

   For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

   כִּיkiforמְשָׁרֶתֶתme/sha/RE/teta servant ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodהִיאhiit isלְטוֹבle/TOVfor goodלָךְlakhto youאֲבָלa/VALbutאִם־הָרַעim-ha/RAif evilתַּעֲשֶׂהta/a/SEyou doיְרָאye/RAfearכִּיkiforלֹאlonotלְחִנָּםle/chin/NAMfor nothingחֲגֻרַת־חֶרֶבcha/gu/RAT-CHE/revgirded with a swordהִיאhiit isכִּי־מְשָׁרֶתֶתki-me/sha/RE/tetfor a servant ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodהִיאhiit isנֹקֶמֶתno/KE/metavengingלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto executeחֵמָהche/MAwrathבְּעֹשֵׂהbe/o/SEon the one who doesהָרָע׃ha/RAevil

   For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMyou must needsלְהִכָּנֵעַle/hik/ka/NE/ato submitלֹאlonotבַעֲבוּרva/a/VURbecause ofהַקֶּצֶףhak/KE/tsefthe wrathלְבַדle/VADonlyכִּי־גַםki-gambut alsoבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURfor the sake ofהַלֵּב׃hal/LEVthe heart

   Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeנֹתְנִיםnot/NIMgiveאַתֶּםat/TEMyouגַּםgamalsoאֶת־הַמַּסet-ham/MASthe taxכִּיkiforמְשָׁרֲתֵיme/sha/ra/TEservants ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodהֵםhemthey areעֹמְדִיםom/DIMstandingלָזֹאתla/ZOTfor thisעַלalatמִשְׁמַרְתָּם׃mish/mar/TAMtheir post

   For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeתְּנוּte/NUgiveלַכֹּלlak/KOLto allאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטָםet-mish/pa/TAMtheir justiceהַמַּסham/MASthe taxלַאֲשֶׁר־לוֹla/a/SHER-loto whom is dueהַמַּסham/MASthe taxוְהַמֶּכֶסve/ham/ME/khesand the tollלַאֲשֶׁר־לוֹla/a/SHER-loto whom is dueהַמֶּכֶסham/ME/khesthe tollוְהַמּוֹרָאve/ham/mo/RAand the fearלַאֲשֶׁר־לוֹla/a/SHER-loto whom is dueהַמּוֹרָאham/mo/RAthe fearוְהַכָּבוֹדve/hak/ka/VODand the honorלַאֲשֶׁר־לוֹla/a/SHER-loto whom is dueהַכָּבוֹד׃hak/ka/VODthe honor

   Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

   וְאַל־תִּהְיוּve/AL-tih/YUand do not beלֹוִיםlo/VIMoweלְאִישׁle/ISHto a manמְאוּמָהme/U/maany thingזוּלָתִיzu/la/TIexceptאַהֲבַתa/ha/VATthe love ofאִישׁisheachאֶת־רֵעֵהוּet-re/E/huhis neighborכִּיkiforהָאֹהֵבha/o/HEVthe one who lovesאֶת־חֲבֵרוֹet-cha/ve/ROhis companionמִלֵּאmil/LEhas fulfilledאֶת־הַתּוֹרָה׃et-hat/to/RAthe law

   Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

   כִּיkiforמִצְוֹתmits/VOTthe commandmentsלֹאlonotתִנְאָףtin/AFyou shall commit adulteryלֹאlonotתִרְצָחtir/TSACHyou shall murderלֹאlonotתִגְנֹבtig/NOVyou shall stealלֹאlonotתַעֲנֶהta/a/NEyou shall bearעֵדedwitnessשֶׁקֶרSHE/kerof falsehoodלֹאlonotתַחְמֹדtach/MODyou shall covetוְאִםve/IMand ifיֵשׁyeshthere be anyמִצְוָהmits/VAcommandmentאַחֶרֶתa/CHE/retotherכֻּלָּהּkul/LAall of itבַּמַּאֲמָרbam/ma/a/MARin sayingהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisהוּאhuit isוְאָהַבְתָּve/a/hav/TAand you shall loveלְרֵעֲךָle/re/a/KHAyour neighborכָּמוֹךָ׃ka/MO/khaas yourself

   For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

    הָאַהֲבָהha/a/ha/VAloveלֹאlonoתָרַעta/RAdoes evilלָרֵעla/REto the neighborעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeהָאַהֲבָהha/a/ha/VAloveהִיאhiisמְלֹאme/LOthe fullness ofהַתּוֹרָה׃hat/to/RAthe law

    Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

    וְזֹאתve/ZOTand thisכִּיkiforאַתֶּםat/TEMyouיֹדְעִיםyod/IMknowאֶת־הָעֵתet-ha/ETthe timeכִּי־כְבָרki-khe/VARthat alreadyעֵתetit is timeלְהָקִיץle/ha/KITSto awakeמִן־הַשֵּׁנָהmin-hash/she/NAfrom sleepכִּיkiforיְשׁוּעָתֵנוּye/shu/a/TE/nuour salvationקְרוֹבָהke/ro/VAis nearעַתָּהat/TAnowמִן־הָעֵתmin-ha/ETfrom the timeהֶאֱמַנּוּ׃he/e/man/NUwe believed

    And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

    הַלַּיְלָהhal/LAY/lathe nightחָלַףcha/LAFhas passedוְהַיּוֹםve/hay/YOMand the dayקָרֵבka/REVis nearלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeנָסִירָה־נָּאna/si/RA-nalet us put away nowאֶת־מַעֲשֵׂיet-ma/a/SEthe works ofהַחֹשֶׁךְha/CHO/shekhthe darknessוְנִלְבְּשָׁהve/nil/be/SHAand let us put onאֶת־כְּלֵיet-ke/LEthe gear ofנֶשֶׁקNE/shekweaponsהָאוֹר׃ha/ORthe light

    The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

    כְּבַיּוֹםke/vay/YOMas in the dayנִתְהַלְּכָהnit/hal/le/KHAlet us walkבְּיֹשֶׁרbe/YO/sherin uprightnessלֹאlonotבְזוֹלֲלוּתve/zo/la/LUTin gluttonyוּבְשִׁכָּרוֹןu/ve/shik/ka/RONand drunkennessוְלֹאve/LOand notבְּמִשְׁכָּבbe/mish/KAVin bedוּבְזִמָּהu/ve/zim/MAand wantonnessוְלֹאve/LOand notבִמְרִיבָהvim/ri/VAin strifeוְקִנְאָה׃ve/kin/Aand jealousy

    Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

    כִּיkibutאִם־לִבְשׁוּim-liv/SHUrather put onאֶת־הָאָדוֹןet-ha/a/DONthe LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahוְאַל־תָּכִינוּve/AL-ta/khi/NUand make not provisionלַבָּשָׂרlab/ba/SARfor the fleshלְמַלֵּאle/mal/LEto fulfillתַּאֲוֹתָיו׃ta/a/vo/TAYVits lusts

    But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
