1. 1

   וְהַמַּלְאָךְve/ham/mal/AKHand the angelהַחֲמִישִׁיha/cha/mi/SHIfifthתָּקַעta/KAblewוָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I sawכוֹכָבkho/KHAVa starנֹפֵלno/FELfallenמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenאָרְצָהAR/tsato the earthוְלוֹve/LOand to himנִתַּןnit/TANwas givenמַפְתֵּחַmaf/TE/achthe key ofבּוֹרborthe pitהַתְּהוֹם׃hat/te/HOMthe deep

   And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

   וַיִּפְתַּחvay/yif/TACHand he openedאֶת־בּוֹרet-borthe pitהַתְּהוֹםhat/te/HOMthe deepוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upקִיטוֹרki/TORsmokeמִן־הַבּוֹרmin-hab/BORout of the pitכְּקִיטוֹרke/ki/TORlike the smoke ofכִּבְשָׁןkiv/SHANa furnaceגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatוַיֶּחְשַׁךְvay/yech/SHAKHand was darkenedהַשֶּׁמֶשׁhash/SHE/meshthe sunוְהָאֲוִירve/ha/a/VIRand the airמִקִּיטוֹרmik/ki/TORfrom the smoke ofהַבּוֹר׃hab/BORthe pit

   And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

   וּמִן־הַקִּיטוֹרu/MIN-hak/ki/TORand from the smokeיָצָאya/TSAcame outאַרְבֶּהar/BElocustsעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retsupon the earthוְשִׁלְטוֹןve/shil/TONand authorityנִתַּןnit/TANwas givenלָהֶםla/HEMto themכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasלְעַקְרַבֵּיle/ak/rab/BEthe scorpions ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthשִׁלְטוֹן׃shil/TONauthority

   And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

4. 4

   וַיְצֻוּוּvay/tsuv/VUand they were commandedלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInot toהָרַעha/RAharmאֶת־עֵשֶׂבet-E/sevthe grass ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthוְלֹאve/LOand notכׇל־יֶרֶקkhol-YE/rekany green thingוְלֹאve/LOand notכׇל־עֵץkhol-etsany treeכִּיkibutאִם־אֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁיםim-et-ha/a/na/SHIMonly the menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֵין־לָהֶםen-la/HEMhave notחוֹתַםcho/TAMthe seal ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodעַל־מִצְחוֹתָם׃al-mits/cho/TAMon their foreheads

   And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

5. 5

   וְלֹאve/LOand notנִתַּןnit/TANwas it givenלָהֶםla/HEMto themלַהֲמִיתָםla/ha/mi/TAMthat they should kill themכִּי־אִםki-imbutלְהַכְאִיבָםle/hakh/i/VAMto pain themחֲמִשָּׁהcha/mish/SHAfiveחֳדָשִׁיםcho/da/SHIMmonthsוּכְאֵבָםu/khe/e/VAMand their painכִּכְאֵבkikh/EVlike the pain ofאִישׁisha manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomיַכֵּהוּyak/ke/HUstrikes himהָעַקְרָב׃ha/ak/RAVthe scorpion

   And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

6. 6

   וּבַיָּמִיםu/vay/ya/MIMand in the daysהָהֵםha/HEMthoseיְבַקְשׁוּye/vak/SHUwill seekבְנֵי־אָדָםve/NE-a/DAMthe sons of menאֶת־הַמָּוֶתet-ham/MA/vetdeathוְלֹאve/LOand notיִמְצָאֻהוּyim/tsa/u/HUfind itוְיִשְׁאֲלוּve/yish/a/LUand they will askאֶת־נַפְשָׁםet-naf/SHAMfor their soulלָמוּתla/MUTto dieוְהַמָּוֶתve/ham/MA/vetand deathיִבְרַחyiv/RACHwill fleeמֵהֶם׃me/HEMfrom them

   And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

7. 7

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand wasמַרְאֵהmar/Ethe appearance ofהָאַרְבֶּהha/ar/BEthe locustsכְּמַרְאֵהke/mar/Elike the appearance ofסוּסִיםsu/SIMhorsesעֲרוּכֵיa/ru/KHEarrayed forמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAbattleוְעַל־רָאשֵׁיהֶםve/AL-ra/she/HEMand on their headsכַּעֲטָרוֹתka/a/ta/ROTlike crownsכְּעֵיןke/ENlike the gleam ofזָהָבza/HAVgoldוּפְנֵיהֶםu/fe/ne/HEMand their facesכִּפְנֵיkif/NElike the faces ofאָדָם׃a/DAMmen

   And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

8. 8

   וְשֵׂעָרve/se/ARand hairלָהֶםla/HEMthey hadכִּשְׂעַרkis/ARlike the hair ofנָשִׁיםna/SHIMwomenוְשִׁנֵּיהֶםve/shin/ne/HEMand their teethשִׁנֵּיshin/NEthe teeth ofאַרְיֵה׃ar/YEa lion

   And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.

9. 9

   וְשִׁרְיֹנִיםve/shir/yo/NIMand breastplatesלָהֶםla/HEMthey hadכְּשִׁרְיֹנֵיke/shir/yo/NElike breastplates ofבַרְזֶלvar/ZELironוְקוֹלve/KOLand the sound ofכַּנְפֵיהֶםkan/fe/HEMtheir wingsכְּקוֹלke/KOLlike the sound ofמַרְכְּבוֹתmar/ke/VOTchariots ofסוּסִיםsu/SIMhorsesרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyרָצִיםra/TSIMrunningלַמִּלְחָמָה׃lam/mil/cha/MAfor battle

   And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

10. 10

    וּזְנָבוֹתu/ze/na/VOTand tailsלָהֶםla/HEMthey hadכְּזַנְבוֹתke/zan/VOTlike the tails ofעַקְרַבִּיםak/rab/BIMscorpionsוְעֳקָצִיםve/o/ka/TSIMand stingsבְּזַנְבוֹתָםbe/zan/vo/TAMin their tailsוְשִׁלְטוֹנָםve/shil/to/NAMand their authorityלְהָרַעle/ha/RAto harmאֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁיםet-ha/a/na/SHIMthe menחֲמִשָּׁהcha/mish/SHAfiveחֳדָשִׁים׃cho/da/SHIMmonths

    And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

11. 11

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand there wasעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMover themמֶלֶךְME/lekhkingמַלְאַךְmal/AKHthe angel ofהַתְּהוֹםhat/te/HOMthe deepאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseשְׁמוֹshe/MOhis nameבִּלְשׁוֹןbil/SHONin the tongueעִבְרִיתIv/RITHebrewאֲבַדּוֹןA/vad/DONAbaddonוּבִלְשׁוֹןu/vil/SHONand in the tongueיְוָנִיתYe/va/NITGreekשְׁמוֹshe/MOhis nameאַפּוֹלְיוֹן׃Ap/pol/YONApollyon

    And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

12. 12

    אוֹיoywoeאֶחָדe/CHADoneחָלַףcha/LAFhas passedהָלַךְha/LAKHgoneלוֹloawayוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdבָּאִיםba/IMare comingעוֹדodmoreשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoאוֹיִםo/YIMwoesאַחֲרֵי־כֵן׃a/cha/RE-khenafter this

    One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.

13. 13

    וְהַמַּלְאָךְve/ham/mal/AKHand the angelהַשִּׁשִּׁיhash/shish/SHIsixthתָּקַעta/KAblewוָאֶשְׁמַעva/esh/MAand I heardקוֹלkola voiceאֶחָדe/CHADoneמֵאַרְבַּעme/ar/BAfrom the fourקַרְנוֹתkar/NOThorns ofמִזְבַּחmiz/BACHthe altar ofהַזָּהָבhaz/za/HAVgoldאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,

14. 14

    לֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלַמַּלְאָךְlam/mal/AKHto the angelהַשִּׁשִּׁיhash/shish/SHIsixthאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהַשּׁוֹפָרhash/sho/FARthe trumpetבְּיָדוֹbe/ya/DOin his handהַתֵּרhat/TERlooseאֶת־אַרְבַּעַתet-ar/BA/atthe fourהַמַּלְאָכִיםham/mal/a/KHIMangelsהָאֲסוּרִיםha/a/su/RIMboundעַל־הַנָּהָרal-han/na/HARat the riverהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLgreatנְהַר־פְּרָת׃ne/HAR-Pe/RATthe river Euphrates

    Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.

15. 15

    וַיֻּתְּרוּvay/yut/te/RUand were loosedאַרְבַּעַתar/BA/atthe fourהַמַּלְאָכִיםham/mal/a/KHIMangelsהַמּוּכָנִיםham/mu/kha/NIMwho were preparedלַשָּׁעָהlash/sha/Afor the hourוְלַיּוֹםve/lay/YOMand the dayוְלַחֹדֶשׁve/la/CHO/deshand the monthוְלַשָּׁנָהve/lash/sha/NAand the yearלַהֲרֹגla/ha/ROGto killשְׁלִישִׁיתshe/li/SHITa third ofהָאֲנָשִׁים׃ha/a/na/SHIMthe men

    And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.

16. 16

    וּמִסְפַּרu/mis/PARand the number ofצְבָאtse/VAthe army ofהַפָּרָשִׁיםhap/pa/ra/SHIMthe horsemenמָאתַיִםma/TA/yimtwo hundredאֶלֶףE/lefthousandאֲלָפִיםa/la/FIMthousandוָאֶשְׁמַעva/esh/MAand I heardאֶת־מִסְפָּרָם׃et-mis/pa/RAMtheir number

    And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.

17. 17

    וְכֵןve/KHENand soרָאִיתִיra/I/tiI sawאֶת־הַסּוּסִיםet-has/su/SIMthe horsesבַּמַּרְאָהbam/mar/Ain the visionוְאֶת־הַיֹּשְׁבִיםve/ET-hay/yosh/VIMand those sittingעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themוְלָהֶםve/la/HEMand they haveשִׁרְיֹנוֹתshir/yo/NOTbreastplates ofאֵשׁeshfireוּתְכֵלֶתu/te/KHE/letand blueוְגׇפְרִיתve/gof/RITand brimstoneוְרָאשֵׁיve/ra/SHEand the heads ofהַסּוּסִיםhas/su/SIMthe horsesכְּרָאשֵׁיke/ra/SHElike the heads ofאֲרָיוֹתa/ra/YOTlionsוּמִפִּיהֶםu/mip/pi/HEMand out of their mouthsיָצְאוּya/tse/Ucame outאֵשׁeshfireוְקִיטוֹרve/ki/TORand smokeוְגׇפְרִית׃ve/gof/RITand brimstone

    And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.

18. 18

    בִּשְׁלֹשֶׁתbish/LO/shetby threeאֵלֶּהEL/letheseנֶהֶרְגָהne/her/GAwas killedשְׁלִישִׁיתshe/li/SHITa third ofהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menבָּאֵשׁba/ESHby the fireוּבַקִּיטוֹרu/vak/ki/TORand by the smokeוּבַגׇּפְרִיתu/vag/gof/RITand by the brimstoneהַיֹּצְאִיםhay/yots/IMthat came outמִפִּיהֶם׃mip/pi/HEMout of their mouths

    By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.

19. 19

    כִּיkiforשִׁלְטוֹנָםshil/to/NAMtheir authorityבְּפִיהֶםbe/fi/HEMis in their mouthוּבְזַנְבוֹתָםu/ve/zan/vo/TAMand in their tailsכִּיkiforזַנְבוֹתֵיהֶםzan/vo/te/HEMtheir tailsכַּנְּחָשִׁיםkan/ne/cha/SHIMare like serpentsוְרָאשִׁיםve/ra/SHIMand headsלָהֶםla/HEMthey haveוּבָהֶםu/va/HEMand with themיָרֵעוּ׃ya/RE/uthey harm

    For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.

20. 20

    וּשְׁאָרu/she/ARand the rest ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹאlodid notנֶהֶרְגוּne/her/GUwere killedבַּמַּכּוֹתbam/mak/KOTby the plaguesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseבְּכׇל־זֹאתbe/KHOL-zotfor all thisלֹא־שָׁבוּlo-SHA/vudid not turnמִמַּעֲשֵׂיmim/ma/a/SEfrom the works ofיְדֵיהֶםye/de/HEMtheir handsמֵהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹתme/hish/ta/cha/VOTfrom bowing downעוֹדodagainלַשֵּׁדִיםlash/SHE/dimto the demonsוְלַעֲצַבֵּיve/la/a/tsab/BEand to idols ofזָהָבza/HAVgoldוָכֶסֶףva/KHE/sefand silverוּנְחֹשֶׁתu/ne/CHO/shetand bronzeוְאֶבֶןve/E/venand stoneוָעֵץva/ETSand woodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־יִרְאוּlo-yir/Udo not seeוְלֹא־יִשְׁמְעוּve/LO-yish/me/Uand do not hearוְלֹאve/LOand notיְהַלֵּכוּ׃ye/hal/LE/khuwalk

    And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

21. 21

    וְלֹאve/LOand notשָׁבוּSHA/vudid they turnמֵרְצִיחוֹתֵיהֶםmer/tsi/cho/te/HEMfrom their murdersוְלֹאve/LOand notמִכְּשָׁפֵיהֶםmik/ke/sha/fe/HEMfrom their sorceriesוְלֹאve/LOand notמִזְּנוּתָםmiz/ze/nu/TAMfrom their harlotryוְלֹאve/LOand notמִגְּנֵבוֹתֵיהֶם׃mig/ge/ne/vo/te/HEMfrom their thefts

    Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
