   And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomזָנוּza/NUcommitted harlotryאִתָּהּit/TAwith herמַלְכֵיmal/KHEthe kings ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthוַיִּשְׁכְּרוּvay/yish/ke/RUand were drunkיֹשְׁבֵיyosh/VEinhabitants ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthמִיֵּיןmiy/YENfrom the wine ofזְנוּתָהּ׃ze/nu/TAher harlotry

   With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

   וַיִּשָּׂאֵנִיvay/yis/sa/E/niand he carried meבָרוּחַVa/RU/achin the Spiritהַמִּדְבָּרָהham/mid/BA/rato the wildernessוָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I sawאִשָּׁהish/SHAa womanיֹשֶׁבֶתyo/SHE/vetsittingעַל־חַיָּהal-chay/YAon a beastאֲדֻמָּהa/dum/MAredכַתּוֹלָעkhat/to/LAlike crimsonמְלֵאַתme/le/ATfull ofשְׁמוֹתshe/MOTnames ofגִּדּוּףgid/DUFblasphemyוְלָהּve/LAand it hadשִׁבְעָהshiv/Asevenרָאשִׁיםra/SHIMheadsוְעֶשֶׂרve/E/serand tenקְרָנָיִם׃ke/ra/NA/yimhorns

   So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

   וְהָאִשָּׁהve/ha/ish/SHAand the womanלְבוּשָׁהּle/vu/SHAher clothingאַרְגָּמָןar/ga/MANpurpleוְשָׁנִיve/sha/NIand scarletוַתַּעַדvat/TA/adand adornedזָהָבza/HAVgoldוְאֶבֶן־יְקָרָהve/E/ven-ye/ka/RAand precious stoneוּפְנִינִיםu/fe/ni/NIMand pearlsוּבְיָדָהּu/ve/ya/DAand in her handכּוֹסkosa cup ofזָהָבza/HAVgoldמְלֵאָהme/le/Afull ofתוֹעֵבוֹתto/e/VOTabominationsוְטֻמְאַתve/tum/ATand the uncleanness ofזְנוּתָהּ׃ze/nu/TAher harlotry

   And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

   וְעַל־מִצְחָהּve/AL-mits/CHAand on her foreheadשֵׁםshema nameכָּתוּבka/TUVwrittenסוֹדsodsecretבָּבֶלBa/VELBabylonהַגְּדוֹלָהhag/ge/do/LAgreatאֵםemthe mother ofהַזֹּנוֹתhaz/zo/NOTharlotsוְתוֹעֲבוֹתve/to/a/VOTand the abominations ofהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe earth

   And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

6. 6

   וָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I sawאֶת־הָאִשָּׁהet-ha/ish/SHAthe womanשְׁכוּרָהshe/khu/RAdrunkמִדַּםmid/DAMfrom the blood ofהַקְּדֹשִׁיםhak/ke/do/SHIMthe saintsוּמִדַּםu/mid/DAMand from the blood ofעֵדֵיe/DEthe witnesses ofיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוּבִרְאוֹתִיu/vir/o/TIand when I sawאֹתָהּo/TAherוָאֶתְמַהּva/et/MAand I wonderedתִּמָּהוֹןtim/ma/HONwith astonishmentגָּדוֹל׃ga/DOLgreat

   And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלַיe/LAYto meהַמַּלְאָךְham/mal/AKHthe angelלָמָּהLAM/mawhyתָּמַהְתָּta/mah/TAdid you marvelאֲנִיa/NIIאַגִּידag/GIDwill tellלְךָle/KHAyouאֶת־סוֹדet-sodthe secret ofהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanוְהַחַיָּהve/ha/chay/YAand the beastהַנֹּשֵׂאתhan/no/SETthat carriesאֹתָהּo/TAherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלָהּlahasשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATthe sevenהָרָאשִׁיםha/ra/SHIMheadsוְעֶשֶׂרve/E/serand tenהַקְּרָנָיִם׃hak/ke/ra/NA/yimhorns

   And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

   הַחַיָּהha/chay/YAthe beastאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatרָאִיתָra/I/tayou sawהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasוְאֵינֶנָּהve/e/NEN/naand is notוְהִיאve/HIand itתַּעֲלֶהta/a/LEwill come upמִן־הַתְּהוֹםmin-hat/te/HOMfrom the deepוְתֵלֵךְve/te/LEKHand goלַאֲבַדּוֹןla/a/vad/DONto destructionוְיִתְמְהוּve/yit/me/HUand will wonderיֹשְׁבֵיyosh/VEinhabitants ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseלֹא־נִכְתְּבוּlo-nikh/te/VUare not writtenשְׁמוֹתָםshe/mo/TAMtheir namesבְּסֵפֶרbe/SE/ferin the book ofהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMlifeמִיְּסוֹדmiy/ye/SODfrom the foundation ofהָעוֹלָםha/o/LAMthe worldבִּרְאוֹתָםbir/o/TAMwhen they seeאֶת־הַחַיָּהet-ha/chay/YAthe beastאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasוְאֵינֶנָּהve/e/NEN/naand is notוְעוֹדve/ODand yetיֶשְׁנָהּ׃yesh/NAis

   The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

   פֹּהpohere isהַשֵּׂכֶלhas/SE/khelthe mindאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלוֹlohasחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATthe sevenהָרָאשִׁיםha/ra/SHIMheadsשִׁבְעָהshiv/Asevenהָרִיםha/RIMmountainsהֵמָּהHEM/maareאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanיֹשֶׁבֶתyo/SHE/vetsitsעֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMon them

   And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

10. 10

    וְשִׁבְעָהve/shiv/Aand sevenמְלָכִיםme/la/KHIMkingsהֵמָּהHEM/mathey areחֲמִשָּׁהcha/mish/SHAfiveנָפְלוּna/fe/LUhave fallenוְהָאֶחָדve/ha/e/CHADand the oneיֶשְׁנוֹyesh/NOisוְהָאַחֵרve/ha/a/CHERand the otherעוֹדodyetלֹא־בָאlo-vahas not comeוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it will beכִּיkiwhenיָבוֹאya/VOhe comesעָמֹדa/MODremainיַעֲמֹדya/a/MODhe will remainלִזְמַןliz/MANfor a timeמְעָט׃me/ATlittle

    And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

    וְהַחַיָּהve/ha/chay/YAand the beastאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasוְאֵינֶנָּהve/e/NEN/naand is notוְהוּאve/HUand itהַשְּׁמִינִיhash/she/mi/NIthe eighthוְהוּאve/HUand it isמִן־הַשִּׁבְעָהmin-hash/shiv/Aof the sevenוְהֹלֵךְve/ho/LEKHand goesלַאֲבַדּוֹן׃la/a/vad/DONto destruction

    And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

    וְעֶשֶׂרve/E/serand the tenהַקְּרָנַיִםhak/ke/ra/NA/yimhornsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatרָאִיתָra/I/tayou sawעֲשָׂרָהa/sa/RAtenמְלָכִיםme/la/KHIMkingsהֵםhemareאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹא־קִבְּלוּlo-kib/be/LUhave not receivedמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTkingdomעַד־הֵנָּהad-HEN/nauntil nowאַךְakhbutשִׁלְטוֹןshil/TONauthorityכַּמְּלָכִיםkam/me/la/KHIMas kingsיְקַבְּלוּye/kab/be/LUthey receiveשָׁעָהsha/Ahourאַחַתa/CHAToneעִם־הַחַיָּה׃im-ha/chay/YAwith the beast

    And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

13. 13

    אֵלֶּהEL/letheseעֵצָהe/TSAcounselאַחַתa/CHAToneלָהֶםla/HEMhaveוְאֶת־גְּבוּרָתָםve/ET-ge/vu/ra/TAMand their mightוְאֶת־עֻזָּםve/ET-uz/ZAMand their strengthיִתְּנוּyit/te/NUthey giveלַחַיָּה׃la/chay/YAto the beast

    These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14. 14

    אֵלֶּהEL/letheseיַעֲשׂוּya/a/SUwill makeמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarעִם־הַשֶּׂהim-Has/SEwith the LambוְהַשֶּׂהVe/has/SEand the Lambיִכְבְּשֵׁםyikh/be/SHEMwill overcome themכִּיkiforהוּאhuhe isאֲדֹנֵיa/do/NELord ofהָאֲדֹנִיםha/a/do/NIMlordsוּמֶלֶךְu/ME/lekhand King ofהַמְּלָכִיםham/me/la/KHIMkingsוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand those who areעִמּוֹim/MOwith himקְרוּאִיםke/ru/IMcalledוּבְחִירִיםu/ve/chi/RIMand chosenוְנֶאֱמָנִיםve/ne/e/ma/NIMand faithfulהֵמָּה׃HEM/mathey

    These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

15. 15

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֵלַיe/LAYto meהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe watersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatרָאִיתָra/I/tayou sawאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereהַזּוֹנָהhaz/zo/NAthe harlotיֹשֶׁבֶתyo/SHE/vetsitsעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themעַמִּיםam/MIMpeoplesוַהֲמֹנִיםva/ha/mo/NIMand multitudesהֵמָּהHEM/maareוְגוֹיִםve/go/YIMand nationsוּלְשֹׁנוֹת׃u/le/sho/NOTand tongues

    And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

16. 16

    וְעֶשֶׂרve/E/serand the tenהַקְּרָנַיִםhak/ke/ra/NA/yimhornsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatרָאִיתָra/I/tayou sawעַל־הַחַיָּהal-ha/chay/YAon the beastהֵמָּהHEM/matheyיִשְׂנְאוּyis/ne/Uwill hateאֶת־הַזּוֹנָהet-haz/zo/NAthe harlotוְעָשׂוּהָve/a/su/HAand will make herגַּלְמוּדָהgal/mu/DAdesolateוַעֲרֻמָּהva/a/rum/MAand nakedוְאָכְלוּve/a/khe/LUand will eatאֶת־בְּשָׂרָהּet-be/sa/RAher fleshוְאֹתָהּve/o/TAand herיִשְׂרְפוּyis/re/FUthey will burnבָאֵשׁ׃va/ESHwith fire

    And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

17. 17

    כִּיkiforהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodנָתַןna/TANhas putבְּלִבָּםbe/lib/BAMin their heartלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doאֶת־רְצוֹנוֹet-re/tso/NOHis willוְלַעֲשׂוֹתve/la/a/SOTand to makeעֵצָהe/TSAcounselאַחַתa/CHAToneוְלָתֵתve/la/TETand to giveאֶת־מַלְכוּתָםet-mal/khu/TAMtheir kingdomלַחַיָּהla/chay/YAto the beastעַדaduntilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִמָּלְאוּyim/ma/le/Uwill be fulfilledדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe words ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

18. 18

    וְהָאִשָּׁהve/ha/ish/SHAand the womanאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatרָאִיתָra/I/tayou sawהִיאhiisהָעִירha/IRthe cityהַגְּדוֹלָהhag/ge/do/LAgreatהַמֹּלֶכֶתham/mo/LE/khetthat reignsעַל־מַלְכֵיal-mal/KHEover the kings ofהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe earth

    And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
