   פּוֹלוֹסPaulאֲסִירprisoner-ofהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-MessiahיֵשׁוּעַJesusוְטִימוֹתִיּוֹסand-Timothyהָאָחthe-brotherאֶל־פִילֵימוֹןto-Philemonהֶחָבִיבthe-belovedוְהָעֹזֵרand-fellow-laborerאֹתָנוּ׃with-us

   Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,

2. 2

   וְאֶל־אַפִּיָּהand-to-Apphiaהָאֲהוּבָהthe-loved oneוְאֶל־אַרְכִפּוֹסand-to-Archippusהֶחָבֵרthe-fellow-soldierלָנוּwith-usבְּמִלְחֲמֹתֵינוּin-our-warsוְאֶל־הַקְּהִלָּהand-the-churchאֲשֶׁרwhichבְּבֵיתֶךָ׃in-your-house

   And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:

3. 3

   חֶסֶדgraceלָכֶםto-youוְשָׁלוֹםand-peaceמֵאֵתfromאֱלֹהִיםGodאָבִינוּour-fatherוַאֲדֹנֵינוּand-the-LordיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃the-Messiah

   Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4. 4

   מוֹדֶהI-thankאֲנִיIלֵאלֹהַיmy-Godבְּכׇל־עֵתalwaysבְּהַזְכִּירִיmaking-mention-ofאֹתְךָyouבִּתְפִלּוֹתָי׃in-my-prayers

   I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,

   אַחֲרֵיafterשָׁמְעִיhearing-ofאַהֲבָתְךָyour-loveוֶאֱמוּנָתְךָand-faithאֲשֶׁר־בְּךָwhich-you-haveלַאֲדֹנֵינוּto-lord-ourיֵשׁוּעַJesusוּלְכׇל־הַקְּדוֹשִׁים׃and-for-all-the-saints

   Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;

   לְמַעַןin-order-thatאֲשֶׁרwhichתִּתְחַזֵּקmay-become-effectualהִתְחַבְּרוּתthe-communication-ofאֱמוּנָתְךָyour-faithבְּדַעַתby-the-acknowledging-ofכׇּל־טוֹבall-goodאֲשֶׁרwhichבָּכֶםin-youלְשֵׁםto-the name ofהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahיֵשׁוּעַ׃Jesus

   That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

7. 7

   כִּיbecauseשִׂמְחָהjoyגְדוֹלָהgreatוְנֶחָמָהand-consolationיֶשׁ־לָנוּwe-haveבְּאַהֲבָתֶךָin-love-yourבַּאֲשֶׁרbecauseהָיְתָהwasרְוָחָהare-refreshedלִמְעֵיthe-bowels-ofהַקְּדוֹשִׁיםthe-saintsעַל־יָדְךָby-youאָחִי׃my-brother

   For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.

8. 8

   לָכֵןthereforeאַף־כִּיthoughיֵשׁ־לִיI-haveאֹמֶץboldnessרַבmuchבַּמָּשִׁיחַin-the-Messiahלְצַוֹּתְךָto-enjoin-youאֵת־הַנָּכוֹן׃that-which-is-convenient

   Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,

9. 9

   הִנֵּהyetבָחַרְתִּיI-ratherלְמַעַןfor-sake-ofהָאַהֲבָהlove'sלְחַלּוֹתbeseechאֶת־פָּנֶיךָyouאָנֹכִיIפּוֹלוֹסPaulהַזָּקֵןthe-agedוְעַתָּהand-nowגַּם־אֲסִירalso-a-prisoner-ofיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃the-Messiah

   Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

10. 10

    הִנְנִיbehold-Iמְחַלֶּהentreatingאֶת־פָּנֶיךָface-yourעַל־בְּנִיfor-my-sonאֲשֶׁרwhomחוֹלַלְתִּיוI-have-begottenבִּהְיוֹתִיwhile-I-wasבַּמַּאֲסָרin-bondsעַל־אֳנִיסִימוֹס׃concerning-Onesimus

    I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:

11. 11

    אֲשֶׁרwhichמִלְּפָנִיםfrom-beforeלֹא־הוֹעִילwas-unprofitableלָךְto-youוְעַתָּהbut-nowהוּאisלְהוֹעִילprofitableגַּם־לְךָalso-for-youגַם־לִיalso-to-meוַהֲשִׁיבֹתִיוand-I-have-sent-him-backאֵלֶיךָ׃to-you

    Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:

12. 12

    וְאַתָּהfor-youקַבֶּל־נָאreceiveאֹתוֹhimשֶׁהוּאthat-isיָקָרmine-ownלְלִבִּי׃bowels

    Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:

13. 13

    חָפַצְתִּיI-wouldלַעֲצֹרhave-retainedאֹתוֹhimאֶצְלִיwith-meשֶׁיְּשָׁרֲתֵנִיthat-he-might-minister-to-meתַחְתֶּיךָin-your-steadבְּמוֹסְרוֹתin-the-bands-ofהַבְּשׂוֹרָה׃the-gospel

    Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:

14. 14

    אֲבָלbutלֹאnotחָפַצְתִּיI-wouldלַעֲשׂוֹתdoדָּבָרnothingשֶׁלּאwithoutבִרְצוֹנֶךָyour-mindכְּדֵיthatשֶׁלּא־תִהְיֶהshould-not-beטוֹבָתְךָyour-benefitבְּאֹנֶסof-necessityכִּיbutאִם־בִּנְדָבָה׃willingly

    But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

15. 15

    כִּיbecauseאוּלַיperhapsנִפְרַדhe-departedמִמְּךָfrom-youלְשָׁעָהfor-a-seasonבַּעֲבוּרthatאֲשֶׁרwhichיִהְיֶה־לְּךָyou-shouldest-have-himלְעוֹלָם׃forever

    For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;

16. 16

    וּמֵעַתָּהand-from-this-timeלֹאnotכְעֶבֶדas-a-servantכִּיbutאִםratherלְמַעְלָהaboveמֵעֶבֶדa-servantכְּאָחa-brotherאָהוּבbelovedבְּיוֹתֵרspeciallyלִיto-meוְאַףand-yetכִּי־לְךָbecause-for-youהֵןyeaבַּבָּשָׂרin-the-fleshהֵןyeaבָּאָדוֹן׃in-the-Lord

    Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

17. 17

    וְהִנֵּהand-beholdאִם־תַּחְשְׁבֵנִיif-you-count-meלְחָבֵרa-partnerלָךְto-youתְּקַבְּלֶנּוּreceive-himכָּמוֹנִי׃like-unto-me

    If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.

18. 18

    וְאִם־הֵרַעif-he-hath-wrongedלְךָyouבְּדָבָרin-anythingאוֹorחַיָּב־הוּאowethלְךָyouדָּבָרoughtחַשְּׁבֵהוּput-that-on-mine-accountלִי׃to-me

    If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;

19. 19

    אֲנִיIפּוֹלוֹסPaulכָּתַבְתִּיI-have-writtenבְיָדִיin-hand-myאֲנִיIאֲשַׁלֵּםwill-repayוְלֹאalbeit-notאֹמַרI-do-sayכִּי־אַתָּהthat-youחַיָּבowestלִיto-meגַּם־אֶת־נַפְשֶׁךָ׃even-yours-own-self

    I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.

20. 20

    כֵּןthusאָחִיmy-brotherאֵהָנֶה־נָּאlet-me-have-joyמִמְּךָfrom-youבָּאָדוֹןin-the-Lordנַחֶם־נָּאrefreshאֶת־לִבִּיmy-bowelsבָּאָדוֹן׃in-the-Lord

    Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.

21. 21

    כָּתַבְתִּיI-have-writtenאֵלֶיךָto-youוַאֲנִיand-Iבָטוּחַhaving-confidenceבְּךָin-youשֶׁתִּשְׁמַעin-your-obedienceלִיto-meוְיֹדֵעַand-knowingאֲנִיIשֶׁתּוֹסִיףyou-wilt-also-doלַעֲשׂוֹתmore-thanעַל־אֲשֶׁרthatאָמָרְתִּי׃I-say

    Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.

22. 22

    וְגַם־לִיand-also-to-meתָכִיןprepare-meבֵּיתaמָלוֹןlodgingכִּיforאֲקַוֶּהI-trustאֲשֶׁרthatאֶנָּתֵןI-shall-be-givenלָכֶםto-youעַל־יְדֵיby-means-ofתְּפִלּוֹתֵיכֶם׃the-prayers-of-your(pl)

    But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.

23. 23

    אֶפַּפְרָסEpaphrasהָאָסוּרthe-prisonerאִתִּיwith-meבַּמָּשִׁיחַin-the-MessiahיֵשׁוּעַJesusשֹׁאֵלsalutethלִשְׁלוֹמֶךָ׃you

    There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;

24. 24

    וּמַרְקוֹסand-Markוַאֲרִסְטַרְכוֹסand-Aristarchusוְדִימָסand-Demasוְלוּקָסand-Lukeעֹזְרַי׃my-fellowlaborers

    Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.

25. 25

    חֶסֶדgraceיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahאֲדֹנֵינוּour-Lordעִם־רוּחֲכֶםwith-your-spiritאָמֵן׃amen

    The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
