   Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

   Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

   וְאַתָּהve/at/TAbut youבַּעֲשׂוֹתְךָba/a/sot/KHAwhen you doצְדָקָהtse/da/KAalmsאַל־תֵּדַעal-te/DAlet not knowשְׂמֹאלְךָse/mo/le/KHAyour left handאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatעֹשָׂהo/SAdoesיְמִינֶךָ׃ye/mi/NE/khayour right hand

   But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

   לְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתִּהְיֶהtih/YEmay beצִדְקָתְךָtsid/ka/te/KHAyour almsבַּסָּתֶרbas/SA/terin secretוְאָבִיךָve/A/VI/khaand your Fatherהָרֹאֶהha/ro/Ewho seesבַּמִּסְתָּרִיםbam/mis/ta/RIMin the hidden placesהוּאhuHeבַּגָּלוּיbag/ga/LUYopenlyיִגְמְלֶךָ׃yig/me/le/KHAwill repay you

   That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

   And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

   But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

   וּבְהִתְפַּלֶּלְכֶםu/ve/hit/pal/lel/KHEMbut when you prayאַל־תְּפַטְפְּטוּal-te/fat/pe/TUdo not babbleכַּגּוֹיִםkag/go/YIMas the nationsהָאֹמְרִיםha/om/RIMwho sayבִּלְבָבָםbil/va/VAMin their heartsבְּרֹבbe/ROVby the abundance ofדְּבָרֵינוּde/va/re/NUour wordsנִשָּׁמֵעַ׃nish/sha/ME/awe will be heard

   But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

   וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youאַל־תִּדַּמּוּal-tid/DAM/mudo not be likeלָהֶםla/HEMto themכִּיkiforיוֹדֵעַyo/DE/aknowsאֲבִיכֶםA/vi/KHEMyour Fatherכׇּל־צׇרְכְּכֶםkol-tsor/ke/KHEMall your needבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeתִּשְׁאֲלוּtish/a/LUyou askמִמֶּנּוּ׃mim/MEN/nuHim

   Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכֹּהkothusתִתְפַּלָּלוּtit/pal/la/LUyou shall prayאָבִינוּA/VI/nuour Fatherשֶׁבַּשָּׁמַיִםsheb/bash/sha/MA/yimwho are in heavenיִתְקַדַּשׁyit/kad/DASHbe hallowedשְׁמֶךָ׃she/ME/khaYour name

   After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

    תָּבֹאta/VOlet comeמַלְכוּתֶךָmal/khu/TE/khaYour kingdomיֵעָשֶׂהye/a/SElet be doneרְצוֹנְךָre/tson/KHAYour willכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenגַּםgamalsoבָּאָרֶץ׃ba/A/retson earth

    Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

    אֶת־לֶחֶםet-LE/chemthe breadחֻקֵּנוּchuk/ke/NUour portionתֵּן־לָנוּten-LA/nugive usהַיּוֹם׃hay/YOMtoday

    Give us this day our daily bread.

12. 12

    וּמְחַל־לָנוּu/me/CHAL-LA/nuand forgive usעַל־חֹבוֹתֵינוּal-cho/vo/te/NUour debtsכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasמָחַלְנוּma/chal/NUhave forgivenגַּם־אֲנַחְנוּgam-a/NACH/nuwe alsoלְחַיָּבֵינוּ׃le/chay/ya/ve/NUour debtors

    And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13. 13

    וְאַל־תְּבִיאֵנוּve/AL-te/vi/e/NUand do not bring usלִידֵיli/DEintoנִסָּיוֹןnis/sa/YONtrialכִּיkibutאִםimratherתְּחַלְּצֵנוּte/chal/le/tse/NUdeliver usמִן־הָרָעmin-ha/RAfrom evilכִּיkiforלְךָle/KHAyours isהַמַּמְלָכָהham/mam/la/KHAthe kingdomוְהַגְּבוּרָהve/hag/ge/vu/RAand the powerוְהַתִּפְאֶרֶתve/hat/tif/E/retand the gloryלְעוֹלְמֵיle/OL/mefor ages ofעוֹלָמִיםo/la/MIMagesאָמֵן׃a/MENamen

    And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

    כִּיkiforאִםimifתִּמְחֲלוּtim/cha/LUyou forgiveלִבְנֵי־אָדָםliv/NE-a/DAMmenעַל־חַטֹּאתָםal-chat/to/TAMtheir sinsיִמְחַלyim/CHALwill forgiveגַּם־לָכֶםgam-la/KHEMalso youאֲבִיכֶםA/vi/KHEMyour Fatherשֶׁבַּשָּׁמָיִם׃sheb/bash/sha/MA/yimwho is in heaven

    For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15. 15

    וְאִםve/IMbut ifלֹאlonotתִמְחֲלוּtim/cha/LUyou forgiveלִבְנֵיliv/NEthe sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenגַּם־אֲבִיכֶםgam-A/vi/KHEMalso your Fatherלֹא־יִמְחַלlo-yim/CHALwill not forgiveלְחַטֹּאתֵיכֶם׃le/chat/to/te/KHEMyour sins

    But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

16. 16

    וְכִיve/KHIand whenתָצוּמוּta/TSU/muyou fastאַל־תִּהְיוּal-tih/YUdo not beזֹעֲפִיםzo/a/FIMgloomyכַּחֲנֵפִיםka/cha/ne/FIMas the hypocritesהַמְשַׁנִּיםham/shan/NIMwho disfigureאֶת־פְּנֵיהֶםet-pe/ne/HEMtheir facesלְהֵרָאוֹתle/he/ra/OTthat they may appearצָמִיםtsa/MIMfastingלִבְנֵיliv/NEto the sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenאָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youהֵמָּהHEM/matheyנָשְׂאוּna/se/Uhave receivedאֶת־שְׂכָרָם׃et-se/kha/RAMtheir reward

    Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

17. 17

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAbut youכִּיkiwhenתָצוּםta/TSUMyou fastסוּךְsukhanointאֶת־רֹאשְׁךָet-ro/she/KHAyour headוּרְחַץu/re/CHATSand washאֶת־פָּנֶיךָ׃et-pa/NE/khayour face

    But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

18. 18

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־תֵרָאֶהlo-te/ra/Eyou appear notצָםtsamfastingלִבְנֵיliv/NEto the sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenכִּיkibutאִםimratherלְאָבִיךָle/A/VI/khato your Fatherבַּסָּתֶרbas/SA/terwho is in secretוְאָבִיךָve/A/VI/khaand your Fatherהָרֹאֶהha/ro/Ewho seesבַּמִּסְתָּרִיםbam/mis/ta/RIMin the hidden placesהוּאhuHeבַּגָּלוּיbag/ga/LUYopenlyיִגְמְלֶךָ׃yig/me/le/KHAwill repay you

    That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

19. 19

    אַלaldo notתַּאַצְרוּta/ats/RUlay upלָכֶםla/KHEMfor yourselvesאוֹצָרוֹתo/tsa/ROTtreasuresבָּאָרֶץba/A/retson earthאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereיֹאכְלוּםyo/khe/LUMconsume themשָׁםshamthereסָסsasmothוְרָקָבve/ra/KAVand rustוְגַנָּבִיםve/gan/na/VIMand thievesיַחְתְּרוּyach/te/RUbreak throughוְגָנָבוּ׃ve/ga/na/VUand steal

    Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20. 20

    אֲבָלa/VALbutתַּאַצְרוּta/ats/RUlay upלָכֶםla/KHEMfor yourselvesאוֹצָרוֹתo/tsa/ROTtreasuresבַּשָּׁמָיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereסָסsasmothוְרָקָבve/ra/KAVnor rustלֹא־יֹאכְלוּםlo-yo/khe/LUMdo not consume themשָׁםshamthereוְגַנָּבִיםve/gan/na/VIMand thievesלֹאlodo notיַחְתְּרוּyach/te/RUbreak throughוְלֹאve/LOnorיִגְנֹבוּ׃yig/no/VUsteal

    But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21. 21

    כִּיkiforבִמְקוֹםvim/KOMin the placeאֲשֶׁר־אוֹצַרְכֶםa/SHER-o/tsar/KHEMwhere your treasureבּוֹboisשָׁםshamthereיִהְיֶהyih/YEwill beגַם־לְבַבְכֶם׃gam-le/vav/KHEMalso your heart

    For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

22. 22

    נֵרnerthe lamp ofהַגּוּףhag/GUFthe bodyהָעָיִןha/A/yinis the eyeוְאִם־עֵינְךָve/IM-e/ne/KHAif your eyeתְמִימָהte/mi/MAis wholeכׇּל־גּוּפְךָkol-guf/KHAyour whole bodyיֵאוֹר׃ye/ORwill be light

    The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

23. 23

    וְאִם־עֵינְךָve/IM-e/ne/KHAbut if your eyeרָעָהra/Ais evilכׇּל־גּוּפְךָkol-guf/KHAyour whole bodyיֶחְשָׁךְyech/SHAKHwill be darkוְאִםve/IMand ifיֶחְשַׁךְyech/SHAKHis darkהָאוֹרha/ORthe lightאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבְּקִרְבְּךָbe/kir/be/KHAin youמָה־רַבma-ravhow great isהַחֹשֶׁךְ׃ha/CHO/shekhthe darkness

    But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

24. 24

    לֹאlonotיוּכַלyu/KHALcanאִישׁishmanלַעֲבֹדla/a/VODserveשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoאֲדֹנִיםa/do/NIMmastersכִּיkiforיִשְׂנָאyis/NAhe will hateאֶת־הָאֶחָדet-ha/e/CHADthe oneוְיֶאֱהַבve/ye/e/HAVand loveאֶת־הָאַחֵרet-ha/a/CHERthe otherאוֹoorיִדְבַּקyid/BAKhe will clingבְּאֶחָדbe/e/CHADto the oneוְיִבְזֶהve/yiv/ZEand despiseאֶת־הָאַחֵרet-ha/a/CHERthe otherלֹאlonotתּוּכְלוּtukh/LUyou canעֲבוֹדa/VODserveאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodוְאֶת־הַמָּמוֹן׃ve/ET-ham/ma/MONand mammon

    No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאַלaldo notתִּדְאֲגוּtid/a/GUworryלְנַפְשְׁכֶםle/naf/she/KHEMfor your lifeמַה־תֹּאכְלוּma-to/khe/LUwhat you shall eatוּמַה־תִּשְׁתּוּu/MA-tish/TUand what you shall drinkוּלְגוּפְכֶםu/le/guf/KHEMand for your bodyמַה־תִּלְבָּשׁוּma-til/BA/shuwhat you shall wearהֲלֹאha/LOis notהַנֶּפֶשׁhan/NE/feshthe lifeהִיאhiisיְקָרָהye/ka/RAmore preciousמִן־הַמָּזוֹןmin-ham/ma/ZONthan the foodוְהַגּוּףve/hag/GUFand the bodyיָקָרya/KARmore preciousמִן־הַמַּלְבּוּשׁ׃min-ham/mal/BUSHthan the clothing

    Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

    הַבִּיטוּhab/BI/tulookאֶל־עוֹףel-ofat the birds ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe skyוּרְאוּu/re/Uand seeהֵןhenbeholdלֹאlonotיִזְרְעוּyiz/re/Uthey sowוְלֹאve/LOand notיִקְצְרוּyik/tse/RUdo they reapוְלֹאve/LOand notיַאַסְפוּya/as/FUdo they gatherלַאֲסָמִיםla/a/sa/MIMinto barnsוַאֲבִיכֶםva/A/vi/KHEMand your Fatherשֶׁבַּשָּׁמַיִםsheb/bash/sha/MA/yimwho is in heavenמְכַלְכֵּלme/khal/KELsustainsאֹתָםo/TAMthemהֲלֹאha/LOare notאַתֶּםat/TEMyouנַעֲלֵיתֶםna/a/le/TEMsurpassעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemמְאֹד׃me/ODgreatly

    Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27. 27

    וּמִיu/MIand whoבָכֶםva/KHEMof youבְּדַאֲגָתוֹbe/da/a/ga/TOby his worryingיוּכַלyu/KHALcanלְהוֹסִיףle/ho/SIFaddעַל־קוֹמָתוֹal-ko/ma/TOto his statureאַמָּהam/MAcubitאֶחָת׃e/CHATone

    Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28. 28

    וְלִלְבוּשׁve/lil/VUSHand for clothingלָמָּהLAM/mawhyתִדְאָגוּtid/a/GUdo you worryהִתְבּוֹנְנוּ־נָאhit/bon/NU-naconsider nowאֶל־שׁוֹשַׁנֵּיel-sho/shan/NEthe lilies ofהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEthe fieldהַצֹּמְחוֹתhats/tsom/CHOTthat growלֹאlonotיַעַמְלוּya/am/LUthey toilוְלֹאve/LOand notיִטְווּ׃yit/VUdo they spin

    And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29. 29

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכִּיkithatגַם־שְׁלֹמֹהgam-She/lo/MOeven Solomonבְּכׇל־הֲדָרוֹbe/KHOL-ha/da/ROin all his gloryלֹא־הָיָהlo-ha/YAwas notלָבוּשׁla/VUSHclothedכְּאַחַתke/a/CHATlike oneמֵהֵנָּה׃me/HEN/naof these

    And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30. 30

    וְאִם־כָּכָהve/IM-KA/khaand if thusמַלְבִּישׁmal/BISHclothesהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֶת־חֲצִירet-cha/TSIRthe grass ofהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEthe fieldאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayצֹמֵחַtso/ME/achgrowsוּמָחָרu/ma/CHARand tomorrowיֻשְׁלַךְyush/LAKHis thrownלְתוֹךְle/TOKHintoהַתַּנּוּרhat/tan/NURthe ovenאַףafhow much moreכִּי־אֶתְכֶםki-et/KHEMyouקְטַנֵּיke/tan/NEO you small ofאֱמוּנָה׃e/mu/NAfaith

    Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31. 31

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאַל־תִּדְאֲגוּal-tid/a/GUdo not worryלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמַה־נֹּאכַלma-no/KHALwhat shall we eatוּמַה־נִּשְׁתֶּהu/MA-nish/TEand what shall we drinkוּמַה־נִּלְבָּשׁ׃u/MA-nil/BASHand what shall we wear

    Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32. 32

    כִּיkiforאֶת־כׇּל־אֵלֶּהet-kol-EL/leall theseמְבַקְשִׁיםme/vak/SHIMseekהַגּוֹיִםhag/go/YIMthe nationsכִּיkiforיֹדֵעַyo/DE/aknowאֲבִיכֶםA/vi/KHEMyour Fatherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho isבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenכִּיkithatצְרִיכִיםtse/ri/KHIMneedאַתֶּםat/TEMyouלְכׇל־אֵלֶּה׃le/KHOL-EL/leall these

    (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33. 33

    אַךְakhbutדִּרְשׁוּdir/SHUseekבָרִאשׁוֹנָהva/ri/sho/NAfirstאֶת־מַלְכוּתet-mal/KHUTthe kingdom ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוְאֶת־צִדְקָתוֹve/ET-tsid/ka/TOand His righteousnessוְנוֹסַףve/no/SAFand will be addedלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכׇּל־אֵלֶּה׃kol-EL/leall these

    But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאַל־תִּדְאֲגוּal-tid/a/GUdo not worryלְיוֹםle/YOMfor the day ofמָחָרma/CHARtomorrowכִּיkiforיוֹםyomthe day ofמָחָרma/CHARtomorrowהוּאhuitיִדְאַגyid/AGwill worryלוֹlofor itselfוְדַיָּהּve/day/YAand enoughלַצָּרָהlats/tsa/RAis the troubleבְּשַׁעְתָּהּ׃be/sha/TAin its hour
