   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passלִפְנוֹתlif/NOTat the turning ofהַבֹּקֶרhab/BO/kerthe morningוַיִּוָּעֲצוּvay/yiv/va/a/TSUtook counselכׇּל־רָאשֵׁיkol-ra/SHEall the chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְזִקְנֵיve/zik/NEand the elders ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleעַל־יֵשׁוּעַal-Ye/SHU/aagainst Jesusלַהֲמִיתוֹ׃la/ha/mi/TOto put him to death

   When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

   וַיַּאַסְרוּvay/ya/as/RUand they boundאֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיּוֹלִיכֻהוּvay/yo/li/KHU/huand led himמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereוַיִּמְסְרֻהוּvay/yim/se/ru/HUand delivered himאֶל־פּוֹנְטִיּוֹסel-Pon/tiy/YOSto PontiusפִּילָטוֹסPi/la/TOSPilateהַהֶגְמוֹן׃ha/heg/MONthe governor

   And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

   וַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudasהַמֹּסֵרham/mo/SERwho deliveredאוֹתוֹo/TOhimכִּיkithatהִרְשִׁיעֻהוּhir/shi/u/HUthey condemned himוַיִּנָּחֵםvay/yin/na/CHEMand he regrettedוַיָּשֶׁבvay/YA/shevand returnedאֶת־שְׁלֹשִׁיםet-she/lo/SHIMthe thirtyהַכֶּסֶףhak/KE/sefsilverאֶל־רָאשֵׁיel-ra/SHEto the chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַזְּקֵנִיםve/haz/ze/ke/NIMand the eldersלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

   חָטָאתִיcha/TA/tiI have sinnedכִּי־דָםki-damfor bloodנָקִיna/KIinnocentהִסְגָּרְתִּיhis/gar/TII have handed overוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidמַה־לָּנוּma-LA/nuwhat is it to usוְלָזֹאתve/la/ZOTand to thisאַתָּהat/TAyouתִּרְאֶה׃tir/Ewill see

   Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

   וַיַּשְׁלֵךְvay/yash/LEKHand he threwאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףet-hak/KE/sefthe silverאֶל־הַהֵיכָלel-ha/he/KHALinto the templeוַיִּפֶןvay/YI/fenand turnedוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentוַיֵּחָנַק׃vay/ye/cha/NAKand hanged himself

   And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

   וַיִּקְחוּvay/yik/CHUand tookרָאשֵׁיra/SHEthe chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףet-hak/KE/sefthe silverוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidלֹא־מֻתָּרlo-mut/TARit is not lawfulלָנוּLA/nufor usלְתִתּוֹle/tit/TOto put itאֶל־אֲרוֹןel-a/RONinto the chest ofהַקָּרְבָּןhak/kor/BANthe offeringכִּי־מְחִירki-me/CHIRfor the price ofדָּמִיםda/MIMbloodהוּא׃huit is

   And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

   וַיִּוָּעֲצוּvay/yiv/va/a/TSUand they took counselוַיִּקְנוּ־בוֹvay/yik/NU-voand bought with itאֶת־שְׂדֵהet-se/DEthe field ofהַיּוֹצֵרhay/yo/TSERthe potterלִקְבוּרַתlik/vu/RATfor the burial ofהַגֵּרִים׃hag/ge/RIMthe strangers

   And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeיִקָּרֵאyik/ka/REis calledלַשָּׂדֶהlas/sa/DEthe fieldהַהוּאha/HUthatשְׂדֵהse/DEthe field ofהַדָּםhad/DAMbloodעַדadtoהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

   Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.

   אָזazthenנִתְמַלֵּאnit/mal/LEwas fulfilledמַה־שֶׁנֶּאֱמַרma-shen/ne/e/MARwhat was saidבְּיַדbe/YADby the hand ofיִרְמְיָהYir/me/YAJeremyהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetוַיִּקְחוּvay/yik/CHUand they tookשְׁלֹשִׁיםshe/lo/SHIMthe thirtyהַכֶּסֶףhak/KE/sefsilverאֶדֶרE/derthe goodlyהַיְקָרhay/KARpriceאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיָקַרya/KARhe was prized atמֵעַל־בְּנֵיme/AL-be/NEby the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

    וַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUand gaveאֹתָםo/TAMthemאֶל־שְׂדֵהel-se/DEfor the field ofהַיּוֹצֵרhay/yo/TSERthe potterכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordאוֹתִי׃o/TIme

    And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.

    וְיֵשׁוּעַve/Ye/SHU/aand Jesusהׇעֳמַדho/o/MADwas stoodלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהַהֶגְמוֹןha/heg/MONthe governorוַיִּשְׁאָלֵהוּvay/yish/a/LE/huand asked himהַהֶגְמוֹןha/heg/MONthe governorלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהַאַתָּהha/at/TAare youהוּאhuheמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאַתָּהat/TAyouאָמָרְתָּ׃a/mar/TAhave said

    And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

    וְרָאשֵׁיve/ra/SHEand the chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַזְּקֵנִיםve/haz/ze/ke/NIMand the eldersדִּבְּרוּdib/be/RUspokeעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst himשִׂטְנָתָםsit/na/TAMtheir accusationוְהוּאve/HUand heלֹא־עָנָהlo-a/NAdid not answerדָבָר׃da/VARa word

    And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himפִּילָטוֹסPi/la/TOSPilateהַאֵינְךָha/e/ne/KHAdo you notשֹׁמֵעַsho/ME/ahearכַּמָּהkam/MAhow muchהֵםhemtheyמְעִידִיםme/i/DIMtestifyבָּךְ׃bakhagainst you

    Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?

14. 14

    וְלֹאve/LOand notעָנָהוּa/NA/huhe answered himאַף־דָּבָרaf-da/VAReven a wordאֶחָדe/CHADoneוַיִּתְמַהּvay/yit/MAand marveledהַהֶגְמוֹןha/heg/MONthe governorעַד־מְאֹד׃ad-me/ODgreatly

    And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

15. 15

    וְהַהֶגְמוֹןve/ha/heg/MONand the governorהָיָהha/YAwasמַתִּירmat/TIRreleasingלָעָםla/AMto the peopleבְּכׇל־חַגbe/KHOL-chagat every feastאָסִירa/SIRa prisonerאֶחָדe/CHADoneאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhomיֶחְפָּצוּ׃yech/PA/tsuthey desired

    Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.

16. 16

    וּבָעֵתu/va/ETand at the timeהַהִיאha/HIthatהָיָהha/YAthere wasלָהֶםla/HEMto themאָסִירa/SIRa prisonerמְפֻרְסָםme/fur/SAMnotoriousוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameבַּר־אַבָּא׃Bar-ab/BABarabbas

    And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.

17. 17

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenנִקְהֲלוּnik/ha/LUthey were gatheredוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themפִּילָטוֹסPi/la/TOSPilateאֶת־מִיet-miwhomתִרְצוּtir/TSUdo you wantשֶׁאַתִּירshe/at/TIRthat I releaseלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאֵת־בַּר־אַבָּאet-Bar-ab/BABarabbasאוֹoorאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַet-Ye/SHU/aJesusהַנִּקְרָאhan/nik/RAwho is calledבְּשֵׁם־מָשִׁיחַ׃be/SHEM-ma/SHI/achby the name Messiah

    Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?

    כִּיkiforיָדַעya/DAhe knewאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatמִקִּנְאָתָםmik/kin/a/TAMfrom their jealousyבּוֹboof himהִסְגִּרֻהוּ׃his/gi/ru/HUthey handed him over

    For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

19. 19

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּשִׁבְתּוֹbe/shiv/TOas he satעַל־כִּסֵּאal-kis/SEon the seat ofהַדִּיןhad/DINjudgmentוַתִּשְׁלַחvat/tish/LACHand sentאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאִשְׁתּוֹish/TOhis wifeלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאַל־תְּהִיal-te/HIlet not beיָדְךָya/de/KHAyour handבַּצַּדִּיקbats/tsad/DIKagainst the righteous manהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכִּיkiforבַעֲבוּרוֹva/a/vu/RObecause of himהַרְבֵּהhar/BEmuchעֻנֵּיתִיun/NE/tiI have sufferedהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayבַּחֲלוֹם׃ba/cha/LOMin a dream

    When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

20. 20

    וְרָאשֵׁיve/ra/SHEand the chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַזְּקֵנִיםve/haz/ze/ke/NIMand the eldersהִסִּיתוּhis/si/TUincitedאֶת־הֲמוֹןet-ha/MONthe crowd ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleלִשְׁאֹלlish/OLto askלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesאֵת־בַּר־אַבָּאet-Bar-ab/BABarabbasוּלְאַבֵּדu/le/ab/BEDand to destroyאֵת־יֵשׁוּעַ׃et-Ye/SHU/aJesus

    But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

21. 21

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredהַהֶגְמוֹןha/heg/MONthe governorוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאֶת־מִיet-miwhomמִשְּׁנֵיהֶםmish/she/ne/HEMof the twoתִּרְצוּtir/TSUdo you wantשֶׁאַתִּירshe/at/TIRthat I releaseלָכֶםla/KHEMto youוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵת־בַּר־אַבָּא׃et-Bar-ab/BABarabbas

    The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

22. 22

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themפִּילָטוֹסPi/la/TOSPilateוּמָה־אֶעֱשֶׂהu/MA-e/e/SEand what shall I doלְיֵשׁוּעַle/Ye/SHU/ato Jesusהַנִּקְרָאhan/nik/RAwho is calledבְּשֵׁם־מָשִׁיחַbe/SHEM-ma/SHI/achby the name Messiahוַיַּעֲנוּvay/ya/a/NUand answeredכֻלָּםkhul/LAMall of themיִצָּלֵב׃yits/tsa/LEVlet him be crucified

    Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהַהֶגְמוֹןha/heg/MONthe governorוּמֶה־עָשָׂהu/ME-a/SAand what has he doneרָעָהra/Aevilוַיִּצְעֲקוּvay/yits/a/KUand they cried outעוֹדodmoreוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidיִצָּלֵב׃yits/tsa/LEVlet him be crucified

    And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּרְאוֹתkir/OTwhen sawפִּילָטוֹסPi/la/TOSPilateכִּיkithatלֹא־יוֹעִילlo-yo/ILit did not profitמְאוּמָהme/U/maanythingוְכִיve/KHIand thatרָבְתָהra/ve/TAincreasedעוֹדodmoreהַמְּהוּמָהham/me/hu/MAthe tumultוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand he tookמַיִםMA/yimwaterוַיִּרְחַץvay/yir/CHATSand washedאֶת־יָדָיוet-ya/DAYVhis handsלְעֵינֵיle/e/NEbefore the eyes ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidנָקִיna/KIinnocentאָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amמִדַּםmid/DAMof the blood ofהַצַּדִּיקhats/tsad/DIKthe righteous manהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאַתֶּםat/TEMyouרְאוּ׃re/Usee

    When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

    וַיַּעֲנוּvay/ya/a/NUand answeredכׇל־הָעָםkhol-ha/AMall the peopleוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidדָּמוֹda/MOhis bloodעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuis on usוְעַל־בָּנֵינוּ׃ve/AL-ba/NE/nuand on our sons

    Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

26. 26

    אָזazthenהִתִּירhit/TIRhe releasedלָהֶםla/HEMto themאֵת־בַּר־אַבָּאet-Bar-ab/BABarabbasוְאֵתve/ETandיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהִכָּהhik/KAhe struckבַשּׁוֹטִיםvash/sho/TIMwith whipsוַיִּמְסֹרvay/yim/SORand deliveredאוֹתוֹo/TOhimלְהִצָּלֵב׃le/hits/tsa/LEVto be crucified

    Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

    וַיִּקְחוּvay/yik/CHUand tookאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEthe men ofהַצָּבָאhats/tsa/VAthe armyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat belongedלַהֶגְמוֹןla/heg/MONto the governorאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַet-Ye/SHU/aJesusוַיְבִיאֻהוּvay/vi/U/huand brought himאֶל־בֵּית־הַמִּשְׁפָּטel-bet-ham/mish/PATto the house of judgmentוַיַּאַסְפוּvay/ya/as/FUand gatheredעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst himאֵת־כׇּל־הַגְּדוּד׃et-kol-hag/ge/DUDthe whole troop

    Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.

    וַיַּפְשִׁיטוּvay/yaf/SHI/tuand they strippedאוֹתוֹo/TOhimאֶת־בְּגָדָיוet-be/ga/DAYVhis garmentsוַיַּעַטְפֻהוּvay/ya/at/fu/HUand wrapped him inמְעִילme/ILa robeשָׁנִי׃sha/NIof scarlet

    And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

29. 29

    וַיְשָׂרֲגוּvay/sa/ra/GUand they woveקֹצִיםko/TSIMthornsוַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand madeעֲטֶרֶתa/TE/reta crownוַיָּשִׂימוּvay/ya/SI/muand putעַל־רֹאשׁוֹal-ro/SHOupon his headוְקָנֶהve/ka/NEand a reedבִּימִינוֹbi/mi/NOin his right handוַיִּכְרְעוּvay/yikh/re/Uand they kneltלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himוַיִּתְלוֹצֲצוּvay/yit/lo/tsa/TSUand mockedבוֹvohimלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceלְךָle/KHAto youמֶלֶךְME/lekhking ofהַיְּהוּדִים׃hay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jews

    And when they had plaited a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

30. 30

    וַיָּרֹקּוּvay/ya/rok/KUand they spatבּוֹboon himוַיִּקְחוּvay/yik/CHUand tookאֶת־הַקָּנֶהet-hak/ka/NEthe reedוַיַּכֻּהוּvay/yak/KU/huand struck himעַל־רֹאשׁוֹ׃al-ro/SHOon his head

    And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

31. 31

    וְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand afterהִתְלוֹצֲצָםhit/lo/tsa/TSAMthey mockedבּוֹbohimהִפְשִׁיטוּhif/SHI/tuthey strippedאוֹתוֹo/TOhimאֶת־הַמְּעִילet-ham/me/ILthe robeוַיַּלְבִּישֻׁהוּvay/yal/bi/shu/HUand clothed himאֶת־בְּגָדָיוet-be/ga/DAYVhis garmentsוַיּוֹבִילֻהוּvay/yo/vi/lu/HUand led himלִצְלֹב׃lits/LOVto crucify

    And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְצֵאתָםve/tse/TAMas they went outוַיִּמְצְאוּvay/yim/tse/Uand foundאִישׁisha manקוּרִינִיKu/ri/NIa Cyrenianוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonוַיֶּאֶנְסוּvay/ye/en/SUand they forcedאֹתוֹo/TOhimלָשֵׂאתla/SETto carryלוֹlofor himאֶת־צְלוּבוֹ׃et-tse/lu/VOhis cross

    And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֶל־הַמָּקוֹםel-ham/ma/KOMto the placeהַנִּקְרָאhan/nik/RAcalledגָּלְגָּלְתָּאGal/gal/TAGolgothaהוּאhuthat isמְקוֹםme/KOMthe place ofגֻּלְגֹּלֶת׃gul/GO/leta skull

    And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,

    וַיִּתְּנוּ־לוֹvay/yit/te/NU-loand they gave himלִשְׁתּוֹתlish/TOTto drinkחֹמֶץCHO/metsvinegarמָסוּךְma/SUKHmixedבִּמְרוֹרוֹתbim/ro/ROTwith gallוַיִּטְעַםvay/yit/AMand he tastedוְלֹאve/LOand notאָבָהa/VAhe was willingלִשְׁתּוֹת׃lish/TOTto drink

    They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenצָלְבוּtsa/le/VUthey crucifiedאוֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיְחַלְּקוּvay/chal/le/KUand dividedאֶת־בְּגָדָיוet-be/ga/DAYVhis garmentsלָהֶםla/HEMamong themוַיַּפִּלוּvay/yap/PI/luand castגוֹרָלgo/RALlotsלְמַלֹּאתle/mal/LOTto fulfillאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־נֶאֱמַרet-a/SHER-ne/e/MARwhat was saidבְּפִיbe/FIby the mouth ofהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetיְחַלְּקוּye/chal/le/KUthey divideבְגָדַיve/ga/DAYmy garmentsלָהֶםla/HEMamong themוְעַל־לְבוּשִׁיve/AL-le/vu/SHIand for my clothingיַפִּילוּyap/PI/luthey castגוֹרָל׃go/RALlots

    And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

    וַיֵּשְׁבוּvay/yesh/VUand they satשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereוַיִּשְׁמְרוּvay/yish/me/RUand they guardedאוֹתוֹ׃o/TOhim

    And sitting down they watched him there;

37. 37

    וַיָּשִׂימוּvay/ya/SI/muand they putאֶת־דְּבַרet-de/VARthe matter ofאַשְׁמָתוֹash/ma/TOhis guiltמִמַּעַלmim/MA/alaboveלְרֹאשׁוֹle/ro/SHOhis headוַיִּכְתְּבוּvay/yikh/te/VUand they wroteזֶהzethisהוּאhuisיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofהַיְּהוּדִים׃hay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jews

    And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

    Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

39. 39

    וְהָעֹבְרִיםve/ha/ov/RIMand those passing byגִּדְּפוּgid/de/FUblasphemedאוֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיָּנִיעוּvay/ya/NI/uand shookאֶת־רֹאשָׁם׃et-ro/SHAMtheir heads

    And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

40. 40

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand saidאַתָּהat/TAyouהַהֹרֵסha/ho/RESwho tear downאֶת־הַהֵיכָלet-ha/he/KHALthe templeוּבֹנֵהוּu/vo/ne/HUand build itבִּשְׁלֹשֶׁתbish/LO/shetin threeיָמִיםya/MIMdaysהוֹשַׁעho/SHAsaveלְנַפְשֶׁךָle/naf/SHE/khayourselfוְאִםve/IMand ifבֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִיםben-Ha/e/lo/HIMthe Son of Godאַתָּהat/TAyou areרְדָהre/DAcome downמִן־הַצְּלוּב׃min-hats/tse/LUVfrom the cross

    And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

41. 41

    וְכֵןve/KHENand soהִלְעִיגוּhil/i/GUmockedגַּם־רָאשֵׁיgam-ra/SHEalso the chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsעִם־הַסּוֹפְרִיםim-has/sof/RIMwith the scribesוְהַזְּקֵנִיםve/haz/ze/ke/NIMand the eldersלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

42. 42

    אֶת־אֲחֵרִיםet-a/che/RIMothersהוֹשִׁיעַho/SHI/ahe savedוּלְעַצְמוֹu/le/ats/MOand himselfלֹאlonotיוּכַלyu/KHALcan heלְהוֹשִׁיעַle/ho/SHI/ato saveאִם־מֶלֶךְim-ME/lekhif the king ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהוּאhuhe isיֵרֶד־נָאYE/red-nalet him come down nowעַתָּהat/TAnowמִן־הַצְּלוּבmin-hats/tse/LUVfrom the crossוְנַאֲמִיןve/na/a/MINand we will believeבּוֹ׃boin him

    He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

43. 43

    בָּטַחBA/tachhe trustedבֵּאלֹהִיםbe/lo/HIMin Godעַתָּהat/TAnowיְפַלְּטֵהוּye/fal/le/TE/hulet Him deliver himאִם־חָפֵץim-cha/FETSif He delightsבּוֹboin himכִּיkiforאָמַרa/MARhe saidבֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִיםben-Ha/e/lo/HIMthe Son of Godאֲנִי׃a/NII am

    He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

44. 44

    וְכָזֹאתve/kha/ZOTand like thisחֵרְפֻהוּcher/fu/HUreproached himגַּם־הַפָּרִיצִיםgam-hap/pa/ri/TSIMalso the robbersהַנִּצְלָבִיםhan/nits/la/VIMwho were crucifiedאִתּוֹ׃it/TOwith him

    The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

45. 45

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand there wasחֹשֶׁךְCHO/shekhdarknessעַל־כׇּל־הָאָרֶץal-kol-ha/A/retsover all the landמִןminfromהַשָּׁעָהhash/sha/Athe hourהַשִּׁשִּׁיתhash/shish/SHITsixthעַדaduntilהַשָּׁעָהhash/sha/Athe hourהַתְּשִׁיעִית׃hat/te/shi/ITninth

    Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

46. 46

    וּכְעֵתu/khe/ETand about the time ofהַשָּׁעָהhash/sha/Athe hourהַתְּשִׁיעִיתhat/te/shi/ITninthוַיִּזְעַקvay/yiz/AKcried outיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudאֵלִיE/LIEliאֵלִיE/LIEliלְמָהle/MAlamaשְׁבַקְתָּנִיshe/vak/ta/NIsabachthaniוְהוּאve/HUand it isאֵלִיe/LImy Godאֵלִיe/LImy Godלָמָהla/MAwhyעֲזַבְתָּנִי׃a/zav/TA/nihave You forsaken me

    And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

47. 47

    וַיִּשְׁמְעוּvay/yish/me/Uand heardאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenמִן־הָעֹמְדִיםmin-ha/om/DIMof those standingשָׁםshamthereוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהוּאhuheקוֹרֵאko/REcallsאֶל־אֵלִיָּס׃el-E/liy/YASfor Elias

    Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

48. 48

    וַיְמַהֵרvay/ma/HERand quicklyאֶחָדe/CHADoneמֵהֶםme/HEMof themוַיָּרׇץvay/YA/rotsranוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookסְפוֹגse/FOGa spongeוַיְמַלֵּאvay/mal/LEand filledאֹתוֹo/TOitחֹמֶץCHO/metswith vinegarוַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand putעַל־קָנֶהal-ka/NEon a reedוַיַּשְׁקֵהוּ׃vay/yash/ke/HUand gave him drink

    And straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

49. 49

    וְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menאָמְרוּa/me/RUsaidהַנִּיחוּhan/NI/chuleaveלוֹlohimוְנִרְאֶהve/nir/Eand let us seeאִם־יָבוֹאim-ya/VOif will comeאֵלִיָּסE/liy/YASEliasלְהוֹשִׁיעוֹ׃le/ho/shi/Oto save him

    The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

50. 50

    וְיֵשׁוּעַve/Ye/SHU/aand Jesusהוֹסִיףho/SIFagainלִקְרֹאlik/ROcriedבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudוַתֵּצֵאvat/te/TSEand went outרוּחוֹ׃ru/CHOhis spirit

    Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

51. 51

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdנִקְרְעָהnik/re/Awas tornפָּרֹכֶתpa/RO/khetthe veil ofהַהֵיכָלha/he/KHALthe templeמִלְמַעְלָהmil/MA/lafrom aboveלְמַטָּהle/MAT/tato belowלִשְׁנַיִםlish/NA/yimin twoקְרָעִיםke/ra/IMpiecesוַתִּרְעַשׁvat/tir/ASHand quakedהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthוְהַסְּלָעִיםve/has/se/la/IMand the rocksהִתְבַּקָּעוּ׃hit/bak/KA/usplit

    And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

52. 52

    וְהַקְּבָרִיםve/hak/ke/va/RIMand the tombsנִפְתָּחוּnif/TA/chuwere openedוְרַבִּיםve/rab/BIMand manyמִגּוּפֵיmig/gu/FEof the bodies ofהַקְּדוֹשִׁיםhak/ke/do/SHIMthe saintsיְשֵׁנֵיye/she/NEsleepers ofאַדְמַתad/MATthe ground ofעָפָרa/FARdustנֵעוֹרוּ׃ne/o/RUawoke

    And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

53. 53

    וַיֵּצְאוּvay/yets/Uand came outמִן־הַקְּבָרִיםmin-hak/ke/va/RIMfrom the tombsאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterתְחִיָּתוֹte/chiy/ya/TOhis resurrectionוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand wentאֶל־הָעִירel-ha/IRinto the cityהַקְּדוֹשָׁהhak/ke/do/SHAholyוַיֵּרָאוּvay/ye/ra/Uand appearedלָרַבִּים׃la/rab/BIMto many

    And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

54. 54

    וְשַׂר־הַמֵּאָהve/SAR-ham/me/Aand the centurionוְהָאֲנָשִׁיםve/ha/a/na/SHIMand the menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereאִתּוֹit/TOwith himהַשֹּׁמְרִיםhash/shom/RIMguardingאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַet-Ye/SHU/aJesusכִּרְאוֹתָםkir/o/TAMwhen they sawאֶת־הָרַעַשׁet-ha/RA/ashthe earthquakeוְאֶת־אֲשֶׁרve/ET-a/SHERand whatנִהְיְתָהnih/ye/TAhappenedנִבְהֲלוּniv/ha/LUthey were terrifiedמְאֹדme/ODveryוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאָכֵןa/KHENtrulyזֶהzethisהָיָהha/YAwasבֶן־אֱלֹהִים׃ven-E/lo/HIMthe Son of God

    Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

55. 55

    וְשָׁםve/SHAMand there wereנָשִׁיםna/SHIMwomenרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהָלְכוּha/le/KHUwentאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusמִן־הַגָּלִילmin-Hag/ga/LILfrom Galileeלְשׇׁרְתוֹle/shor/TOto serve himוְהֵנָּהve/HEN/naand they wereרֹאוֹתro/OTwatchingמֵרָחוֹק׃me/ra/CHOKfrom afar

    And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:

56. 56

    וּבְתוֹכָןu/ve/to/KHANand among themמִרְיָםMir/YAMMaryהַמַּגְדָּלִיתHam/mag/da/LITMagdaleneוּמִרְיָםu/Mir/YAMand Maryאֵם־יַעֲקֹבem-Ya/a/KOVthe mother of Jamesוְיוֹסֵיve/Yo/SEand Josesוְאֵםve/EMand the mother ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofזַבְדָּי׃Zav/DAYZebedee

    Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's children.

57. 57

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבָעֶרֶבva/E/revin the eveningוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOcameאִישׁisha manעָשִׁירa/SHIRrichמִן־הָרָמָתַיִםmin-Ha/ra/ma/TA/yimfrom Arimathaeaוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephוְגַם־הוּאve/GAM-huand he alsoמִתַּלְמִידֵיmit/tal/mi/DEof the disciples ofיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aJesus

    When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathæa, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:

58. 58

    וַיִּגַּשׁvay/yig/GASHand he came nearאֶל־פִּילָטוֹסel-Pi/la/TOSto Pilateלִשְׁאֹלlish/OLto askאֶת־גְּוִיַּתet-ge/viy/YATthe body ofיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commandedפִּילָטוֹסPi/la/TOSPilateוַתִּנָּתֶןvat/tin/na/TENand it was givenלוֹ׃loto him

    He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.

59. 59

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephאֶת־הַגְּוִיָּהet-hag/ge/viy/YAthe bodyוַיִּכְרֹךְvay/yikh/ROKHand wrappedאוֹתָהּo/TAitבְּסָדִיןbe/sa/DINin a linen clothטָהוֹר׃ta/HORclean

    And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

60. 60

    וַיְשִׂימֶהָvay/si/ME/haand put itבַּקֶּבֶרbak/KE/verin the tombהֶחָדָשׁhe/cha/DASHnewאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatחָצַב־לוֹcha/TSAV-lohe had hewn for himselfבַּסָּלַעbas/SA/lain the rockוַיָּגֶלvay/YA/geland rolledאֶבֶןE/vena stoneגְּדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatעַל־פֶּתַחal-PE/tachon the opening ofהַקֶּבֶרhak/KE/verthe tombוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentלוֹ׃lohis way

    And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.

61. 61

    וּמִרְיָםu/Mir/YAMand MaryהַמַּגְדָּלִיתHam/mag/da/LITMagdaleneוּמִרְיָםu/Mir/YAMand Maryהָאַחֶרֶתha/a/CHE/retthe otherהָיוּha/YUwereיֹשְׁבוֹתyosh/VOTsittingשָׁםshamthereמִמּוּלmim/MULoppositeהַקָּבֶר׃hak/KA/verthe tomb

    And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.

62. 62

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passמִמׇּחֳרַתmim/mo/cho/RATon the morrow ofעֶרֶבE/revthe eve ofהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathוַיִּקָּהֲלוּvay/yik/ka/ha/LUassembledרָאשֵׁיra/SHEthe chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַפְּרוּשִׁיםve/hap/Pe/ru/SHIMand the Phariseesאֶל־פִּילָטוֹס׃el-Pi/la/TOSto Pilate

    Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,

63. 63

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour lordזָכַרְנוּza/KHAR/nuwe rememberכִּיkithatאָמַרa/MARsaidהַמֵּסִיתham/me/SITthe deceiverהַהוּאha/HUthatבְּעוֹדֶנּוּbe/o/DEN/nuwhile he was stillחָיchayaliveמִקְצֵהmik/TSEat the end ofשְׁלֹשֶׁתshe/LO/shetthreeיָמִיםya/MIMdaysקוֹםkomriseאָקוּם׃a/KUMI will rise

    Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.

64. 64

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeצַוֵּה־נָאtsav/VE-nacommand nowוְיִסָּכֵרve/yis/sa/KHERand let be stoppedפִּיpithe mouth ofהַקֶּבֶרhak/KE/verthe tombעַד־הַיּוֹםad-hay/YOMuntil the dayהַשְּׁלִישִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthirdפֶּן־יָבֹאוּpen-ya/VO/ulest comeתַלְמִידָיוtal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesבַּלַּיְלָהbal/LAY/laby nightוּגְנָבֻהוּu/ge/na/vu/HUand steal himוְאָמְרוּve/a/me/RUand sayאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMto the peopleהִנֵּה־קָםhin/NE-kambehold he has risenמִן־הַמֵּתִיםmin-ham/me/TIMfrom the deadוְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAand will beהַתַּרְמִיתhat/tar/MITthe deceitהָאַחֲרוֹנָהha/a/cha/ro/NAlastרָעָהra/Aworseמִן־הָרִאשׁוֹנָה׃min-ha/ri/sho/NAthan the first

    Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

65. 65

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themפִּילָטוֹסPi/la/TOSPilateהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdלָכֶםla/KHEMyou haveאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEmen ofמִשְׁמָרmish/MARa guardלְכוּle/KHUgoסִכְרוּהוּsikh/ru/HUstop it upכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasיְדַעְתֶּם׃ye/da/TEMyou know

    Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.

66. 66

    וַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand they wentוַיִּסְכְּרוּvay/yis/ke/RUand stoppedאֶת־פִּיet-pithe mouth ofהַקֶּבֶרhak/KE/verthe tombוַיַּחְתְּמוּvay/yach/te/MUand sealedאֶת־הָאֶבֶןet-ha/E/venthe stoneוַיַּעֲמִידוּvay/ya/a/MI/duand stationedעָלָיוa/LAYVover itאֶת־הַמִּשְׁמָר׃et-ham/mish/MARthe guard

    So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
