   And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,

   אַתֶּםat/TEMyouיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMknowכִּיkithatעוֹדodyetיוֹמַיִםyo/MA/yimtwo daysוְהַפֶּסַחve/hap/PE/sachand the passoverבָּאbacomesוּבֶן־הָאָדָםu/VEN-ha/a/DAMand the Son of manיִמָּסֵרyim/ma/SERis deliveredלְהִצָּלֵב׃le/hits/tsa/LEVto be crucified

   Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

   וַיִּקָּהֲלוּvay/yik/ka/ha/LUand assembledרָאשֵׁיra/SHEthe chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַסּוֹפְרִיםve/has/sof/RIMand the scribesוְזִקְנֵיve/zik/NEand the elders ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleאֶל־חֲצַרel-cha/TSARto the court ofהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLhighוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameקַיָּפָא׃Kay/ya/FACaiaphas

   Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

   וַיִּוָּעֲצוּvay/yiv/va/a/TSUand took counselיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherלִתְפֹּשׂlit/POSto seizeאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַet-Ye/SHU/aJesusבְּעׇרְמָהbe/or/MAby craftinessוְלַהֲמִיתוֹ׃ve/la/ha/mi/TOand to kill him

   And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

   וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאַךְ־לֹאakh-lobut notבֶחָגve/CHAGat the feastפֶּן־תִּהְיֶהpen-tih/YElest there beמְהוּמָהme/hu/MAa tumultבָּעָם׃ba/AMamong the people

   But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבִּהְיוֹתbih/YOTwhen wasיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusבֵּית־הִינִיbet-Hi/NIin Bethanyבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonהַמְּצֹרָע׃ham/me/tso/RAthe leper

   Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

   וַתִּקְרַבvat/tik/RAVand came nearאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאִשָּׁהish/SHAa womanוּבְיָדָהּu/ve/ya/DAand in her handפַּךְpakha flask ofמִרְקַחַתmir/KA/chatointmentיְקָרָהye/ka/RAcostlyמְאֹדme/ODveryוַתִּצֹּקvat/tits/TSOKand she pouredעַל־רֹאשׁוֹal-ro/SHOon his headבַּהֲסִיבּוֹba/ha/sib/BOas he reclinedלֶאֱכֹל׃le/e/KHOLto eat

   There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

   וַיִּרְאוּvay/yir/Uand sawהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMhis disciplesוַיִּכְעֲסוּvay/yikh/a/SUand they were angryוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidעַל־מָהal-mafor whatהָאִבּוּדha/ib/BUDis the wasteהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

   But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

   כִּיkiforהַמִּרְקַחַתham/mir/KA/chatthe ointmentהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasרְאוּיָהre/u/YAfitלְהִמָּכֵרle/him/ma/KHERto be soldבִּמְחִירbim/CHIRfor a priceרָבravgreatוְלָתֵתve/la/TETand givenלָעֲנִיִּים׃la/a/niy/YIMto the poor

   For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

    וַיֵּדַעvay/YE/daand knewיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themלָמָּהLAM/mawhyתַּלְאוּtal/Udo you wearyאֶת־הָאִשָּׁהet-ha/ish/SHAthe womanהֲלֹאha/LOis it notמַעֲשֶׂהma/a/SEa workטוֹבtovgoodעָשְׂתָהa/se/TAshe has doneעִמָּדִי׃im/ma/DIto me

    When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

    כִּיkiforהָעֲנִיִּיםha/a/niy/YIMthe poorבְּכׇל־עֵתbe/KHOL-etat all timesאִתְּכֶםit/te/KHEMare with youוְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIand Iאֵינֶנִּיe/NEN/niam notבְּקִרְבְּכֶםbe/kir/be/KHEMamong youבְּכׇל־עֵת׃be/KHOL-etat all times

    For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

    כִּיkiforאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatשׇׁפְכָהshof/KHAshe pouredאֶת־הַמִּרְקַחַתet-ham/mir/KA/chatthe ointmentהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisעַל־גּוּפִיal-gu/FIon my bodyלִקְבוּרָתִיlik/vu/ra/TIfor my burialעָשְׂתָהa/se/TAshe didזֹּאת׃zotthis

    For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.

    אָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youבְּכׇל־מָקוֹםbe/KHOL-ma/KOMin every placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתִּקָּרֵאtik/ka/REwill be proclaimedהַבְּשׂוֹרָהhab/be/so/RAthe gospelהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisבְּכׇל־הָעוֹלָםbe/KHOL-ha/o/LAMin the whole worldגַּםgamalsoאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatעָשְׂתָהa/se/TAhas doneהִיאhisheיְסֻפַּרye/sup/PARwill be toldלְזִכָּרוֹןle/zik/ka/RONfor a memorialלָהּ׃laof her

    Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

    וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִשְּׁנֵים־הֶעָשָׂרmish/she/NEM-he/a/SARthe twelveוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudasאִישׁ־קְרִיּוֹתIsh-ke/riy/YOTIscariotאֶל־רָאשֵׁיel-ra/SHEto the chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִים׃hak/ko/ha/NIMthe priests

    Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמָה־תִּתְּנוּma-tit/te/NUwhat will you giveלִיlimeוְאֶמְסְרֶנּוּve/em/se/ren/NUand I will deliver himבְיֶדְכֶםve/yed/KHEMinto your handוַיִּשְׁקְלוּ־לוֹvay/yish/ke/LU-loand they weighed out to himשְׁלֹשִׁיםshe/lo/SHIMthirtyכָּסֶף׃KA/sefsilver

    And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

16. 16

    וּמִן־הָעֵתu/MIN-ha/ETand from the timeהַהִיאha/HIthatבִּקֵּשׁbik/KESHhe soughtתֹּאֲנָהto/a/NAopportunityלִמְסֹרlim/SORto deliverאוֹתוֹ׃o/TOhim

    And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

17. 17

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבָרִאשׁוֹןva/ri/SHONon the firstלְחַגle/CHAGof the feast ofהַמַּצּוֹתham/mats/TSOTunleavened breadוַיִּגְּשׁוּvay/yig/ge/SHUcame nearהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesאֶל־יֵשׁוּעַel-Ye/SHU/ato Jesusלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאֵיפֹהe/FOwhereנָכִיןna/KHINshall we prepareלְךָle/KHAfor youלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLto eatאֶת־הַפָּסַח׃et-hap/PA/sachthe passover

    Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

18. 18

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלְכוּle/KHUgoהָעִירָהha/I/rato the cityאֶל־פְּלֹנִיel-pe/lo/NIto suchאַלְמֹנִיal/mo/NIand suchוַאֲמַרְתֶּםva/a/mar/TEMand sayאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysרַבֵּנוּrab/be/NUour masterעִתִּיit/TImy timeקְרוֹבָהke/ro/VAis nearוּבְבֵיתְךָu/ve/ve/te/KHAand in your houseאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEI will keepאֶת־הַפֶּסַחet-hap/PE/sachthe passoverעִם־תַּלְמִידָי׃im-tal/mi/DAYwith my disciples

    And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

19. 19

    וַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand didהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוָּםtsiv/VAMcommanded themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיָּכִינוּvay/ya/KHI/nuand they preparedאֶת־הַפָּסַח׃et-hap/PA/sachthe passover

    And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

20. 20

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבָעֶרֶבva/E/revin the eveningוַיַּסֵּבvay/yas/SEVhe reclinedעִם־שְׁנֵים־הֶעָשָׂר׃im-she/NEM-he/a/SARwith the twelve

    Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

21. 21

    וּבְאׇכְלָםu/ve/okh/LAMand as they ateוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARhe saidאָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youיִמְסְרֵנִי׃yim/se/re/NIwill deliver me

    And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

22. 22

    וַיִּתְעַצְּבוּvay/yit/ats/tse/VUand they were grievedמְאֹדme/ODveryוַיָּחֵלּוּvay/ya/CHEL/luand beganאִישׁisheachאִישׁishmanלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלוֹloto himהֶאָנֹכִיhe/a/no/KHIam Iהוּאhuheאֲדֹנִי׃a/do/NImy Lord

    And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

23. 23

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatטָבַלta/VALdippedעִמִּיim/MIwith meאֶת־יָדוֹet-ya/DOhis handבַּקְּעָרָהbak/ke/a/RAin the bowlהוּאhuheיִמְסְרֵנִי׃yim/se/re/NIwill deliver me

    And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

24. 24

    הֵןhenbeholdבֶּן־הָאָדָםben-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manהָלוֹךְha/LOKHgoיֵלֵךְye/LEKHgoesכַּכָּתוּבkak/ka/TUVas it is writtenעָלָיוa/LAYVof himוְאוֹיve/OYbut woeלָאִישׁla/ISHto the manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעַל־יָדוֹal-ya/DOby his handיִמָּסֵרyim/ma/SERis deliveredבֶּן־הָאָדָםben-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manטוֹבtovbetterלָאִישׁla/ISHfor the manהַהוּאha/HUthatשֶׁלֹּאshel/LOif notנוֹלָד׃no/LADhe had been born

    The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudasהַמֹּסֵרham/mo/SERwho deliveredאוֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidרַבִּיrab/BIrabbiהַאֲנִיha/a/NIam Iהוּאhuheוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאַתָּהat/TAyouאָמָרְתָּ׃a/mar/TAhave said

    Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

26. 26

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּאׇכְלָםbe/okh/LAMas they were eatingוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHtookיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֶת־הַלֶּחֶםet-hal/LE/chemthe breadוַיְבָרֶךְvay/VA/rekhand blessedוַיִּפְרֹסvay/yif/ROSand brokeוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveלַתַּלְמִידִיםlat/tal/mi/DIMto the disciplesוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidקְחוּke/CHUtakeוְאִכְלוּve/ikh/LUand eatזֶהzethisהוּאhuisגּוּפִי׃gu/FImy body

    And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand he tookאֶת־הַכּוֹסet-hak/KOSthe cupוַיּוֹדֶהvay/yo/DEand gave thanksוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidשְׁתוּshe/TUdrinkמִמֶּנָּהmim/MEN/naof itכֻּלְּכֶם׃kul/le/KHEMall of you

    And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

28. 28

    כִּיkiforזֶהzethisהוּאhuisדָּמִיda/MImy bloodדַּם־הַבְּרִיתdam-hab/be/RITthe blood of the covenantהַחֲדָשָׁהha/cha/da/SHAnewהַנִּשְׁפָּךְhan/nish/PAKHwhich is shedבְּעַדbe/ADforרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyלִסְלִיחַתlis/li/CHATfor the forgiveness ofחֲטָאִים׃cha/ta/IMsins

    For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youלֹאlonotאֶשְׁתֶּהesh/TEI will drinkמֵעַתָּהme/at/TAfrom now onמִפְּרִיmip/pe/RIof the fruit ofהַגֶּפֶןhag/GE/fenthe vineהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisעַדaduntilהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayהַהוּאha/HUthatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֶשְׁתֶּהesh/TEI drinkאֹתוֹo/TOitעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMwith youוְהוּאve/HUand itחָדָשׁcha/DASHnewבְּמַלְכוּתbe/mal/KHUTin the kingdom ofאָבִי׃A/VImy Father

    But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

30. 30

    וַיָּשִׁירוּvay/ya/SHI/ruand when they had sungשִׁירshira hymnוַיֵּצְאוּvay/yets/Uthey went outאֶל־הַרel-harto the mount ofהַזֵּיתִים׃Haz/ze/TIMOlives

    And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

31. 31

    אָזazthenאָמַרa/MARsaidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאַתֶּםat/TEMyouכֻּלְּכֶםkul/le/KHEMall of youתִּכָּשְׁלוּtik/ka/she/LUwill stumbleבִיvibecause of meהַלָּיְלָהhal/LAY/latonightכִּיkiforכָתוּבkha/TUVit is writtenאַכֶּהak/KEI will strikeאֶת־הָרֹעֶהet-ha/ro/Ethe shepherdוּתְפוּצֶיןָu/te/fu/TSE/naand will be scatteredהַצֹּאן׃hats/TSONthe flock

    Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

32. 32

    וְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand afterקוּמִיKU/mimy risingאֵלֵךְe/LEKHI will goלִפְנֵיכֶםlif/ne/KHEMbefore youהַגָּלִילָה׃hag/Ga/LI/lato Galilee

    But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

33. 33

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himגַּםgamevenכִּי־יִכָּשְׁלוּki-yik/ka/she/LUif stumbleבְךָve/KHAbecause of youכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themאֲנִיa/NIIלֹאlonotאֶכָּשֵׁלek/ka/SHELwill stumbleלְעוֹלָם׃le/o/LAMever

    Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלְךָle/KHAto youכִּיkithatבַלַּיְלָהval/LAY/laon the nightהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeיִקְרָאyik/RAcallsהַתַּרְנְגוֹלhat/tar/ne/GOLthe roosterתְּכַחֵשׁte/kha/CHESHyou shall denyבִּיbimeשָׁלֹשׁsha/LOSHthreeפְּעָמִים׃pe/a/MIMtimes

    Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterגַּםgamevenאִםimifעָלַיa/LAYit is on meלָמוּתla/MUTdieאִתְּךָit/te/KHAwith youלֹאlonotאֲכַחֵשׁa/kha/CHESHwill I denyבָּךְbakhyouוְכֵןve/KHENand soאָמְרוּa/me/RUsaidגַּםgamalsoכׇּל־הַתַּלְמִידִים׃kol-hat/tal/mi/DIMall the disciples

    Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

    אַחֲרֵי־כֵןa/cha/RE-khenafterwardבָּאbacameאִתָּםit/TAMwith themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֶל־מָקוֹםel-ma/KOMto a placeהַנִּקְרָאhan/nik/RAcalledגַּת־שְׁמָנֵיGat-she/ma/NEGethsemaneוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־הַתַּלְמִידִיםel-hat/tal/mi/DIMto the disciplesשְׁבוּshe/VUsitלָכֶםla/KHEMfor yourselvesפֹּהpohereעַד־אֲשֶׁרad-a/SHERuntilאֵלֵךְe/LEKHI goשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereוְהִתְפַּלָּלְתִּי׃ve/hit/pal/LAL/tiand pray

    Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand he tookאִתּוֹit/TOwith himאֶת־פֶּטְרוֹסet-Pet/ROSPeterוְאֶת־שְׁנֵיve/ET-she/NEand the twoבְּנֵיbe/NEsons ofזַבְדָּיZav/DAYZebedeeוַיָּחֶלvay/YA/cheland beganלְהֵעָצֵבle/he/a/TSEVto be grievedוְלָמוּג׃ve/la/MUGand to melt

    And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

38. 38

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHImy soulמָרָה־לִיma/RA-liis bitter to meעַד־מָוֶתad-MA/vetto deathעִמְדוּim/DUstayפֹהfohereוְשִׁקְדוּve/shik/DUand keep watchעִמִּי׃im/MIwith me

    Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

    וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he wentמְעַטme/ATa littleמֵאִתָּםme/it/TAMfrom themוַיִּפֹּלvay/yip/POLand fellעַל־פָּנָיוal-pa/NAYVon his faceוַיִּתְפַּלֵּלvay/yit/pal/LELand prayedלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאָבִיA/VImy Fatherאִם־יוּכַלim-yu/KHALif it canלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTbeתַּעֲבׇר־נָאta/a/VOR-nalet pass nowמֵעָלַיme/a/LAYfrom meהַכּוֹסhak/KOSthe cupהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאַךְakhbutלֹאlonotכִרְצוֹנִיkhir/tso/NIas I willכִּיkibutאִםimratherכִּרְצוֹנֶךָ׃kir/tso/ne/KHAas You will

    And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

    And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

    Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

    וַיּוֹסֶףvay/YO/sefand he againלָלֶכֶת־לוֹla/LE/khet-lowentשֵׁנִיתshe/NITa second timeוַיִּתְפַּלֵּלvay/yit/pal/LELand prayedלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאָבִיA/VImy Fatherאִם־לֹאim-loif notתוּכַלtu/KHALcanהַכּוֹסhak/KOSthe cupהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisלַעֲבֹרla/a/VORpassמֵעָלַיme/a/LAYfrom meבִּלְתִּיbil/TIunlessאִםimifאֶשְׁתֶּהesh/TEI drinkאֹתָהּo/TAitיְהִיye/HIlet it beכִּרְצוֹנֶךָ׃kir/tso/ne/KHAaccording to Your will

    He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

43. 43

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameוַיִּמְצָאֵםvay/yim/tsa/EMand found themגַּםgamalsoבַּפַּעַםbap/PA/amat the timeהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisיְשֵׁנִיםye/she/NIMsleepingכִּיkiforעֵינֵיהֶםe/ne/HEMtheir eyesכְּבֵדוֹת׃ke/ve/DOTwere heavy

    And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

44. 44

    וַיַּנִּיחֵםvay/yan/ni/CHEMand he left themוַיּוֹסֶףvay/YO/sefand againלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetwentוַיִּתְפַּלֵּלvay/yit/pal/LELand prayedשְׁלִישִׁיתshe/li/SHITa third timeבְּאׇמְרוֹbe/om/ROsayingעוֹד־הַפַּעַםod-hap/PA/amagainכַּדָּבָרkad/da/VARaccording to the wordהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

45. 45

    Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

46. 46

    קוּמוּKU/muariseוְנֵלֵכָהve/ne/LE/khaand let us goהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהַמֹּסֵרham/mo/SERhe who deliversאוֹתִיo/TImeהֹלֵךְho/LEKHis comingוְקָרֵב׃ve/ka/REVand is near

    Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

    עוֹדֶנּוּo/DEN/nuwhile he was stillמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspeakingוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudasאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִשְּׁנֵים־הֶעָשָׂרmish/she/NEM-he/a/SARof the twelveבָּאbacameוְעִמּוֹve/im/MOand with himהָמוֹןha/MONa crowdרָבravgreatבַּחֲרָבוֹתba/cha/ra/VOTwith swordsוּבְמַקְלוֹתu/ve/mak/LOTand with clubsמֵאֵתme/ETfromרָאשֵׁיra/SHEthe chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְזִקְנֵיve/zik/NEand the elders ofהָעָם׃ha/AMthe people

    And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

    וְהַמֹּסֵרve/ham/mo/SERand he who deliveredאֹתוֹo/TOhimנָתַןna/TANgaveלָהֶםla/HEMthemאוֹתota signלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomאֶשָּׁקֵהוּesh/sha/ke/HUI kissזֶהzethisהוּאhuis heתִּפְשׂוּהוּ׃tif/su/HUseize him

    Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.

    וּמִיָּדu/miy/YADand immediatelyנִגַּשׁnig/GASHhe came nearאֶל־יֵשׁוּעַel-Ye/SHU/ato Jesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceלְךָle/KHAto youרַבִּיrab/BIrabbiוַיְנַשֶּׁק־לוֹ׃vay/nash/SHEK-loand kissed him

    And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusרֵעִיre/Imy friendעַל־מֶהal-mefor whatבָאתָVA/tahave you comeוַיִּגְּשׁוּvay/yig/ge/SHUand they came nearוַיִּשְׁלְחוּvay/yish/le/CHUand they stretched outאֶת־יְדֵיהֶםet-ye/de/HEMtheir handsבְּיֵשׁוּעַbe/Ye/SHU/aon Jesusוַיִּתְפְּשׂוּvay/yit/pe/SUand seizedאֹתוֹ׃o/TOhim

    And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִן־הָאֲנָשִׁיםmin-ha/a/na/SHIMof the menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereעִם־יֵשׁוּעַim-Ye/SHU/awith Jesusשָׁלַחsha/LACHstretched outיָדוֹya/DOhis handוַיִּשְׁלֹףvay/yish/LOFand drewחַרְבּוֹchar/BOhis swordוַיַּךְvay/YAKHand struckאֶת־עֶבֶדet-E/vedthe servant ofהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLhighוַיְקַצֵּץvay/kats/TSETSand cut offאֶת־אׇזְנוֹ׃et-oz/NOhis ear

    And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.

52. 52

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהָשֵׁבha/SHEVreturnאֶת־חַרְבְּךָet-char/be/KHAyour swordאֶל־תַּעְרָהּel-ta/RAto its sheathכִּיkiforכׇּל־אֹחֲזֵיkol-o/cha/ZEall who take hold ofחֶרֶבCHE/reva swordבַּחֶרֶבba/CHE/revwith the swordיֹאבֵדוּ׃yo/VE/duwill perish

    Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

    הֲתֹאמַרha/to/MARdo you sayבְּלִבְּךָbe/lib/be/KHAin your heartכִּיkithatלֹאlonotיָכֹלְתִּיya/KHOL/tiI canלְהִתְפַּלֵּלle/hit/pal/LELprayעַתָּהat/TAnowאֶלeltoאָבִיA/VImy Fatherוִיצַוֶּה־לִיvi/tsav/VE-liand He would command for meיוֹתֵרyo/TERmore thanמִשְּׁנֵים־עָשָׂרmish/she/NEM-a/SARtwelveלִגְיוֹנוֹתlig/yo/NOTlegionsשֶׁל־מַלְאָכִים׃shel-mal/a/KHIMof angels

    Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

54. 54

    וְאֵיכָכָהve/e/kha/KHAand howאֵפוֹאe/FOthenיִמָּלְאוּyim/ma/le/Uwould be fulfilledהַכְּתוּבִיםhak/ke/tu/VIMthe scripturesכִּי־כֵןki-khenthat soהָיֹהha/YObeתִהְיֶה׃tih/YEit must be

    But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

55. 55

    בַּשָּׁעָהbash/sha/Aat the hourהַהִיאha/HIthatאָמַרa/MARsaidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֶל־הֲמוֹןel-ha/MONto the crowd ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleכְּצֵאתke/TSETas one goes outעַל־פָּרִיץal-pa/RITSagainst a robberיְצָאתֶםye/tsa/TEMyou have come outבַּחֲרָבוֹתba/cha/ra/VOTwith swordsוּבְמַקְלוֹתu/ve/mak/LOTand with clubsלְתָפְשֵׂנִיle/ta/fe/se/NIto seize meוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iהָיִיתִיha/YI/tiwasיֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVsittingוּמְלַמֵּדu/me/lam/MEDand teachingבַּמִּקְדָּשׁbam/mik/DASHin the templeיוֹםyomdayיוֹםyomby dayוְלֹאve/LOand notהֶחֱזַקְתֶּםhe/che/zak/TEMyou took holdבִּי׃bion me

    In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

56. 56

    וְכׇל־זֹאתve/KHOL-zotand all thisהָיְתָהha/ye/TAhappenedלְמַלֹּאתle/mal/LOTto fulfillכִּתְבֵיkit/VEthe writings ofהַנְּבִיאִיםhan/ne/vi/IMthe prophetsאָזazthenעֲזָבוּהוּa/za/vu/HUleft himהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themוַיָּנוּסוּ׃vay/ya/NU/suand fled

    But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

57. 57

    וְהָאֲנָשִׁיםve/ha/a/na/SHIMand the menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתָּפְשׂוּTAF/suseizedאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַet-Ye/SHU/aJesusהוֹלִיכֻהוּho/li/khu/HUled himאֶל־קַיָּפָאel-Kay/ya/FAto Caiaphasהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLhighאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereנִקְהֲלוּnik/ha/LUwere assembledהַסּוֹפְרִיםhas/sof/RIMthe scribesוְהַזְּקֵנִים׃ve/haz/ze/ke/NIMand the elders

    And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

58. 58

    וּפֶטְרוֹסu/Fet/ROSbut Peterהֹלֵךְho/LEKHwentאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVafter himמֵרָחוֹקme/ra/CHOKfrom afarעַדadup toלַחֲצַרla/cha/TSARthe court ofהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLhighוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand wentפְנִימָהfe/NI/mainsideוַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand satאֵצֶלE/tselbesideהַמְשָׁרֲתִיםham/sha/ra/TIMthe attendantsלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeמַה־יִּהְיֶהma-yih/YEwhat would beאַחֲרִיתa/cha/RITthe end ofהַדָּבָר׃had/da/VARthe matter

    But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.

59. 59

    וְרָאשֵׁיve/ra/SHEand the chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַזְּקֵנִיםve/haz/ze/ke/NIMand the eldersוְכׇל־הַסַּנְהֶדְרִיןve/KHOL-has/san/hed/RINand all the Sanhedrinבִּקְשׁוּbik/SHUsoughtעֵדוּתe/DUTtestimony ofשֶׁקֶרSHE/kerfalsehoodבְּיֵשׁוּעַbe/Ye/SHU/aagainst Jesusלַהֲמִיתוֹ׃la/ha/mi/TOto put him to death

    Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;

60. 60

    וְלֹאve/LOand notמָצָאוּma/TSA/uthey foundוְאַףve/AFand evenכִּיkithoughבָאוּVA/ucameשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereעֵדֵיe/DEwitnesses ofשֶׁקֶרSHE/kerfalsehoodרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyלֹאlonotמָצָאוּma/TSA/uthey foundוּבָאַחֲרוֹנָהu/va/a/cha/ro/NAand at lastנִגְּשׁוּnig/ge/SHUcame nearשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoעֵדֵיe/DEwitnesses ofשֶׁקֶר׃SHE/kerfalsehood

    But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,

61. 61

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidזֶהzethis manאָמַרa/MARsaidיֵשׁyeshit isלְאֵלle/ELin the power ofיָדִיya/DImy handלַהֲרֹסla/ha/ROSto tear downאֶת־הֵיכַלet-he/KHALthe temple ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוְלִבְנוֹתוֹve/liv/no/TOand to build itבִּשְׁלֹשֶׁתbish/LO/shetin threeיָמִים׃ya/MIMdays

    And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

62. 62

    וַיָּקׇםvay/YA/komand roseהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLhighוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהֲלֹאha/LOdo you notתַעֲנֶהta/a/NEanswerדָּבָרda/VARa wordמַה־זֶּהma-zewhat is thisיָעִידוּ־בְךָya/i/DU-ve/KHAthey testify against youהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

63. 63

    וְיֵשׁוּעַve/Ye/SHU/abut Jesusהֶחֱרִישׁhe/che/RISHwas silentוַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLhighוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himמַשְׁבִּיעֲךָmash/bi/a/KHAI adjure youאֲנִיa/NIIבֵּאלֹהִיםbe/lo/HIMby Godחַיִּיםchay/YIMlivingשֶׁתֹּאמַרshet/to/MARthat you tellלָנוּLA/nuusאִם־אַתָּהim-at/TAif you areהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahבֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִים׃ben-Ha/e/lo/HIMthe Son of God

    But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

64. 64

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאַתָּהat/TAyouאָמָרְתָּa/mar/TAhave saidוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youמֵעַתָּהme/at/TAfrom now onתִּרְאוּtir/Uyou will seeאֶת־בֶּן־הָאָדָםet-Ben-ha/a/DAMthe Son of manיֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVsittingלִימִיןli/MINat the right hand ofהַגְּבוּרָהhag/Ge/vu/RAthe Powerוּבָאu/VAand comingעִם־עַנְנֵיim-an/NEwith the clouds ofהַשָּׁמָיִם׃hash/sha/MA/yimheaven

    Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

65. 65

    וַיִּקְרַעvay/yik/RAand toreהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLhighאֶת־בְּגָדָיוet-be/ga/DAYVhis garmentsוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidמְגַדֵּףme/gad/DEFblasphemingהוּאhuis heוּמַה־לָּנוּu/MA-LA/nuwhat need have weעוֹדodmoreלְבַקֵּשׁle/vak/KESHto seekעֵדִיםe/DIMwitnessesהֲלֹאha/LOhave notעַתָּהat/TAnowשְׁמַעְתֶּםshe/ma/TEMyou heardאֶת־גִּדּוּפוֹ׃et-gid/du/FOhis blasphemy

    Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

66. 66

    מַה־דַּעְתְּכֶםma-da/te/KHEMwhat is your opinionוַיַּעֲנוּvay/ya/a/NUand they answeredוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאִישׁ־מָוֶתish-MA/veta man of deathהוּא׃huis he

    What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

67. 67

    וַיָּרֹקּוּvay/ya/rok/KUand they spatבְּפָנָיוbe/fa/NAYVin his faceוַיַּכֻּהוּvay/yak/KU/huand struck himבְאֶגְרוֹףve/eg/ROFwith the fistוַאֲחֵרִיםva/a/che/RIMand othersהִכֻּהוּhik/KU/hustruck himעַל־הַלֶּחִי׃al-hal/LE/chion the cheek

    Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,

68. 68

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהִנָּבֵאhin/na/VEprophesyלָנוּLA/nuto usהַמָּשִׁיחַHam/ma/SHI/achMessiahמִיmiwhoהוּאhuisהַמַּכֶּהham/mak/KEwho struckאוֹתְךָ׃ot/KHAyou

    Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

69. 69

    וּפֶטְרוֹסu/Fet/ROSnow Peterיָשַׁבya/SHAVsatמִחוּץmi/CHUTSoutsideלַבַּיִתlab/BA/yitthe houseבֶּחָצֵרbe/cha/TSERin the courtוַתִּגַּשׁvat/tig/GASHand came nearאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himשִׁפְחָהshif/CHAa maidservantאַחַתa/CHAToneלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingגַּם־אַתָּהgam-at/TAyou alsoהָיִיתָha/YI/tawereעִם־יֵשׁוּעַim-Ye/SHU/awith Jesusהַגָּלִילִי׃hag/Ga/li/LIthe Galilean

    Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.

    וַיְכַחֵשׁvay/kha/CHESHand he deniedבִּפְנֵיbif/NEbeforeכֻלָּםkhul/LAMall of themלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלֹאlonotיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowמָה־אַתְּma-attwhat youאֹמָרֶת׃o/MA/retare saying

    But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.

    וַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORand he passedאֶל־פֶּתַחel-PE/tachinto the entrance ofהַשַּׁעַרhash/SHA/arthe gateוַתֵּרֶאvat/TE/reand sawאוֹתוֹo/TOhimאַחֶרֶתa/CHE/retanotherוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidלָאֲנָשִׁיםla/a/na/SHIMto the menאֲשֶׁר־שָׁםa/SHER-shamwho were thereגַּם־זֶהgam-zethis one alsoהָיָהha/YAwasעִם־יֵשׁוּעַim-Ye/SHU/awith Jesusהַנָּצְרִי׃han/Na/tse/RIthe Nazarene

    And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.

    And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.

    וּמְעַטu/me/ATand a littleאַחֲרֵי־כֵןa/cha/RE-khenafterwardוַיִּגְּשׁוּvay/yig/ge/SHUcame nearהָעֹמְדִיםha/om/DIMthose standingשָׁםshamthereוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֶל־פֶּטְרוֹסel-Pet/ROSto Peterאֲבָלa/VALtrulyגַּם־אַתָּהgam-at/TAyou alsoמֵהֶםme/HEMare of themכִּיkiforגַם־לְשׁוֹנְךָgam-le/shon/KHAeven your tongueמְגַלָּהme/gal/LArevealsאוֹתְךָ׃ot/KHAyou

    And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.

    Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

    וַיִּזְכֹּרvay/yiz/KORand rememberedפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterאֶת־דְּבַרet-de/VARthe word ofיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדִּבֶּרdib/BERhe spokeאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeיִקְרָאyik/RAcallsהַתַּרְנְגוֹלhat/tar/ne/GOLthe roosterתְּכַחֵשׁte/kha/CHESHyou shall denyבִּיbimeשָׁלֹשׁsha/LOSHthreeפְּעָמִיםpe/a/MIMtimesוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand he went outהַחוּצָהha/CHU/tsaoutsideוַיְמָרֵרvay/ma/RERand was bitterבַּבֶּכִי׃bab/BE/khiin weeping

    And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
