   And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themלְכוּle/KHUgoאֶל־הַכְּפָרel-hak/ke/FARto the villageאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isמִמּוּלְכֶםmim/mul/KHEMopposite youוּמִיָּדu/miy/YADand immediatelyתִּמְצְאוּtim/tse/Uyou will findאָתוֹןa/TONa donkeyאֲסוּרָהa/su/RAtiedוְעַיִרve/A/yirand a coltעִמָּהּim/MAwith herהַתִּירוּhat/ti/RUuntieאֹתָםo/TAMthemוְהָבִיאוּve/ha/VI/uand bringאֵלָי׃e/LAYto me

   Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.

   וְכִי־יֹאמַרve/KHI-yo/MARand if saysאִישׁisha manאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youדָּבָרda/VARanythingוַאֲמַרְתֶּםva/a/mar/TEMand you shall sayהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordצָרִיךְtsa/RIKHhas needלָהֶםla/HEMof themוּמִיָּדu/miy/YADand immediatelyיְשַׁלְּחֵם׃ye/shal/le/CHEMhe will send them

   And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.

   וְכׇל־זֹאתve/KHOL-zotand all thisהָיְתָהha/ye/TAhappenedלְמַלֹּאתle/mal/LOTto fulfillמַה־שֶׁנֶּאֱמַרma-shen/ne/e/MARwhat was saidבְּיַדbe/YADby the hand ofהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

   אִמְרוּim/RUsayלְבַת־צִיּוֹןle/VAT-tsiy/YONthe daughter of Zionהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdמַלְכֵּךְmal/KEKHyour kingיָבוֹאya/VOcomesלָךְlakhto youעָנִיa/NIhumbleוְרֹכֵבve/ro/KHEVand ridingעַל־חֲמוֹרal-cha/MORon a donkeyוְעַל־עַיִרve/AL-A/yirand on a coltבֶּן־אֲתֹנוֹת׃ben-a/to/NOTthe foal of she-donkeys

   Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

   וַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand wentהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesוַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand didכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedאֹתָםo/TAMthemיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aJesus

   And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,

   וַיָּבִיאוּvay/ya/VI/uand broughtאֶת־הָאָתוֹןet-ha/a/TONthe donkeyוְאֶת־הָעַיִרve/ET-ha/A/yirand the coltוַיָּשִׂימוּvay/ya/SI/muand putעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themאֶת־בִּגְדֵיהֶםet-big/de/HEMtheir garmentsוַיּוֹשִׁיבֻהוּvay/yo/shi/vu/HUand they seated himעֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMon them

   And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

   וְרֹבve/ROVand most ofהֶהָמוֹןhe/ha/MONthe crowdפָּרְשׂוּPAR/suspreadאֶת־בִּגְדֵיהֶםet-big/de/HEMtheir garmentsעַל־הַדָּרֶךְal-had/DA/rekhon the roadוַאֲחֵרִיםva/a/che/RIMand othersכָּרְתוּka/re/TUcut downסְעִיפֵיse/i/FEbranches ofעֵצִיםe/TSIMtreesוַיִּשְׁטָחוּםvay/yish/ta/CHUMand spread themעַל־הַדָּרֶךְ׃al-had/DA/rekhon the road

   And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.

   וַהֲמוֹןva/ha/MONand the crowd ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleהַהֹלְכִיםha/hol/KHIMwho wentלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himוְאַחֲרָיוve/a/cha/RAYVand after himקָרְאוּka/re/Ucried outלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהוֹשַׁע־נָאHo/SHA-naHosannaלְבֶן־דָּוִדle/VEN-da/VIDto the son of Davidבָּרוּךְba/RUKHblessed isהַבָּאhab/BAhe who comesבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDהוֹשַׁע־נָאHo/SHA-naHosannaבַּמְּרוֹמִים׃bam/me/ro/MIMin the highest

   And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּבֹאוֹbe/vo/Owhen he cameיְרוּשָׁלָיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yiminto Jerusalemוַתֵּהֹםvat/te/HOMand was stirredכׇּל־הָעִירkol-ha/IRall the cityוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidמִיmiwho isזֶה׃zethis

    And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהֲמֹןha/MONthe crowd ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleזֶהzethisהוּאhuisהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusמִנְּצֶרֶתmin/Ne/TSE/retfrom Nazarethאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבַּגָּלִיל׃bag/Ga/LILin Galilee

    And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֶל־מִקְדַּשׁel-mik/DASHinto the temple ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוַיְגָרֶשׁvay/GA/reshand drove outמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereאֵת־כׇּל־הַמּוֹכְרִיםet-kol-ham/mokh/RIMall the sellersוְהַקּוֹנִיםve/hak/ko/NIMand the buyersבַּמִּקְדָּשׁbam/mik/DASHin the templeוַיַּהֲפֹךְvay/ya/ha/FOKHand overturnedאֶת־שֻׁלְחֲנוֹתet-shul/cha/NOTthe tables ofהַשֻּׁלְחָנִיםhash/shul/cha/NIMthe money changersוְאֶת־מֹשְׁבוֹתve/ET-mosh/VOTand the seats ofמֹכְרֵיmokh/REthe sellers ofהַיּוֹנִים׃hay/yo/NIMdoves

    And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,

13. 13

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themהֵןhenbeholdכָּתוּבka/TUVwrittenכִּיkithatבֵיתִיve/TIMy houseבֵּיתbeta house ofתְּפִלָּהte/fil/LAprayerיִקָּרֵאyik/ka/REwill be calledוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMbut youשַׂמְתֶּםsam/TEMhave madeאֹתוֹo/TOitלִמְעָרַתlim/a/RATa cave ofפָּרִיצִים׃pa/ri/TSIMrobbers

    And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

14. 14

    וַיִּגְּשׁוּvay/yig/ge/SHUand came nearאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himעִוְרִיםiv/RIMthe blindוּפִסְחִיםu/fis/CHIMand the lameבַּמִּקְדָּשׁbam/mik/DASHin the templeוַיִּרְפָּאֵם׃vay/yir/pa/EMand he healed them

    And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.

15. 15

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּרְאוֹתkir/OTwhen sawרָאשֵׁיra/SHEthe chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַסּוֹפְרִיםve/has/sof/RIMand the scribesאֵת־הַנִּפְלָאוֹתet-han/nif/la/OTthe wondersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשָׂהa/SAhe didוְאֵת־הַיְלָדִיםve/ET-hay/la/DIMand the childrenהַצֹּעֲקִיםhats/tso/a/KIMcrying outבַּמִּקְדָּשׁbam/mik/DASHin the templeוְאֹמְרִיםve/om/RIMand sayingהוֹשַׁע־נָאHo/SHA-naHosannaלְבֶן־דָּוִדle/VEN-da/VIDto the son of Davidוַיִּחַרvay/YI/charand it angeredלָהֶם׃la/HEMthem

    And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they were sore displeased,

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהֲשֹׁמֵעַha/sho/ME/ado hearאַתָּהat/TAyouאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatאֹמְרִיםom/RIMare sayingאֵלֶּהEL/letheseוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themשֹׁמֵעַsho/ME/ahearאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIהֲכִיha/KHIdidלֹאlonotקְרָאתֶםke/ra/TEMreadמִפִּיmip/PIfrom the mouth ofעוֹלֲלִיםo/la/LIMinfantsוְיוֹנְקִיםve/yon/KIMand nursing babesכּוֹנַנְתָּko/NAN/taYou have establishedתְּהִלָּה׃te/hil/LApraise

    And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

17. 17

    וַיַּעַזְבֵםvay/ya/az/VEMand he left themוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outאֶל־מִחוּץel-mi/CHUTSoutsideלָעִירla/IRthe cityאֶל־בֵּית־הִינִיel-Bet-hi/NIto Bethanyוַיָּלֶןvay/YA/lenand lodgedשָׁם׃shamthere

    And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.

18. 18

    וּבַבֹּקֶרu/vab/BO/kerand in the morningשָׁבshavreturningאֶל־הָעִירel-ha/IRinto the cityוְהוּאve/HUand he wasרָעֵב׃ra/EVhungry

    Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.

19. 19

    וַיַּרְאvay/YARand he sawתְּאֵנָהte/e/NAa fig treeאַחַתa/CHAToneעַל־הַדָּרֶךְal-had/DA/rekhby the roadוַיִּקְרַבvay/yik/RAVand came nearאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato itוְלֹא־מָצָאve/LO-ma/TSAand did not findבָהּvaon itמְאוּמָהme/U/maanythingבִּלְתִּיbil/TIexceptהֶעָלִיםhe/a/LIMthe leavesוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato itמֵעַתָּהme/at/TAfrom now onלֹא־יִהְיֶהlo-yih/YElet there not beמִמֵּךְmim/MEKHfrom youפְּרִיpe/RIfruitעַד־עוֹלָםad-o/LAMforeverוַתִּיבַשׁvat/ti/VASHand witheredהַתְּאֵנָהhat/te/e/NAthe fig treeפִּתְאֹם׃pit/OMsuddenly

    And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

20. 20

    וַיִּרְאוּvay/yir/Uand sawהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesוַיִּתְמְהוּvay/yit/me/HUand they marveledוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵיךְekhhowיָבְשָׁהya/ve/SHAhas witheredהַתְּאֵנָהhat/te/e/NAthe fig treeפִּתְאֹם׃pit/OMsuddenly

    And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!

21. 21

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאִם־תִּהְיֶהim-tih/YEif there isבָכֶםva/KHEMin youאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAfaithוְלֹאve/LOand notחָלַקcha/LAKis dividedלִבְּכֶםlib/be/KHEMyour heartכְּמַעֲשֵׂהke/ma/a/SElike the deed ofהַתְּאֵנָהhat/te/e/NAto the fig treeהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisתַּעֲשׂוּta/a/SUyou will doוְאַףve/AFbut evenתֹּאמְרוּto/me/RUyou sayאֶל־הָהָרel-ha/HARto the mountainהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisהִנָּשֵׂאhin/na/SEbe lifted upוְנֶעְתַּקְתָּve/ne/tak/TAand be movedאֶל־תּוֹךְel-tokhinto the midst ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaוְהָיָהve/ha/YAit will beכֵן׃khenso

    Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

22. 22

    וְכֹלve/KHOLand allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתִּשְׁאֲלוּtish/a/LUyou askבַּתְּפִלָּהbat/te/fil/LAin prayerוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youמַאֲמִינִיםma/a/mi/NIMbelievingיָבֹאya/VOit will comeלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameאֶל־הַמִּקְדָּשׁel-ham/mik/DASHinto the templeוַיְלַמֵּדvay/lam/MEDand taughtשָׁםshamthereוְרָאשֵׁיve/ra/SHEand the chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְזִקְנֵיve/zik/NEand the elders ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleנִגְּשׁוּnig/ge/SHUcame nearאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidבְּאֵי־זוֹbe/E-zoby whatרְשׁוּתre/SHUTauthorityאַתָּהat/TAyouעֹשֶׂהo/SEdoאֵלֶּהEL/letheseוּמִיu/MIand whoנָתַןna/TANgaveלְךָle/KHAyouהָרְשׁוּתha/re/SHUTthe authorityהַזֹּאת׃haz/ZOTthis

    And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

24. 24

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themגַּם־אֲנִיgam-a/NII alsoאֶשְׁאֲלָהesh/a/LAwill askאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouדָּבָרda/VARa wordאֶחָדe/CHADoneאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאִם־תַּגִּידוּim-tag/GI/duif you tellאֹתוֹo/TOitלִיlimeגַּם־אֲנִיgam-a/NII alsoאַגִּידag/GIDwill tellלָכֶםla/KHEMyouבְּאֵי־זוֹbe/E-zoby whatרְשׁוּתre/SHUTauthorityאֲנִיa/NIIעֹשֶׂהo/SEdoאֵלֶּה׃EL/lethese

    And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

25. 25

    טְבִילַתte/vi/LATthe baptism ofיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnמֵאַיִןme/A/yinfrom whereהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwas itהֲמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםha/MIN-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenאִם־מִבְּנֵיim-mib/be/NEor from the sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenוַיַּחְשְׁבוּvay/yach/she/VUand they reasonedבִלְבָבָםvil/va/VAMin their heartלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאִם־נֹאמַרim-no/MARif we sayמִשָּׁמַיִםmish/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenוְאָמַרve/a/MARand he will sayאֵלֵינוּe/LE/nuto usמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyאֵפוֹאe/FOthenלֹאlonotהֶאֱמַנְתֶּםhe/e/man/TEMyou believedלוֹ׃lohim

    The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?

26. 26

    וְאִם־נֹאמַרve/IM-no/MARand if we sayמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEfrom the sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenיְרֵאִיםye/re/IMafraidאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areאֶת־הֲמוֹןet-ha/MONof the crowd ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleכִּי־כֻלָּםki-khul/LAMfor all of themחֹשְׁבִיםchosh/VIMholdאֶת־יוֹחָנָןet-Yo/cha/NANJohnלְנָבִיא׃le/na/VIa prophet

    But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.

27. 27

    וַיַּעֲנוּvay/ya/a/NUand they answeredאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַet-Ye/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidלֹאlonotיָדָעְנוּya/DA/nuwe knowוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themגַּם־אֲנִיgam-a/NII alsoלֹאlonotאֹמַרo/MARsayלָכֶםla/KHEMyouמָהmawhat isרְשׁוּתִיre/shu/TImy authorityכִּיkithatאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEI doאֵלֶּה׃EL/lethese

    And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

    אֲבָלa/VALbutמַה־דַּעְתְּכֶםma-da/te/KHEMwhat is your opinionאִישׁisha manהָיָהha/YAthere wasוְלוֹve/LOand he hadשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoבָנִיםva/NIMsonsוַיִּגַּשׁvay/yig/GASHand he came nearאֶל־הָרִאשׁוֹןel-ha/ri/SHONto the firstוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidבְּנִיbe/NImy sonלֵךְlekhgoהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayוַעֲבֹדva/a/VODworkבְּכַרְמִי׃be/khar/MIin my vineyard

    But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

29. 29

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלֹאlonotחָפַצְתִּיcha/FATS/tiI wantוְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןve/a/cha/RE-khenand afterwardנִחַםni/CHAMhe regrettedוַיֵּלַךְ׃vay/ye/LAKHand went

    He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

30. 30

    וַיִּגַּשׁvay/yig/GASHand he came nearאֶל־הַשֵּׁנִיel-hash/she/NIto the secondוַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeכָּזֹאתka/ZOTlike thisגַּם־אֵלָיוgam-e/LAYVto him alsoוַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהִנְנִיhin/NIhere I amאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordוְלֹאve/LOand notהָלָךְ׃ha/LAKHwent not

    And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

    מִיmiwhoמִשְּׁנֵיהֶםmish/she/ne/HEMof the two of themעָשָׂהa/SAdidאֶת־רְצוֹןet-re/TSONthe will ofאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהָרִאשׁוֹןha/ri/SHONthe firstוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youהַמּוֹכְסִיםham/mokh/SIMthe tax collectorsוְהַזּוֹנוֹתve/haz/zo/NOTand the prostitutesיְקַדְּמוּye/kad/de/MUwill go beforeאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouלָבוֹאla/VOto enterאֶל־מַלְכוּתel-mal/KHUTinto the kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

    For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

    שִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearמָשָׁלma/SHALa parableאַחֵרa/CHERanotherאִישׁisha manבַּעַל־בַּיִתBA/al-BA/yitmaster of a houseהָיָהha/YAthere wasאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנָטַעna/TAplantedכֶּרֶםKE/rema vineyardוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand madeגָּדֵרga/DERa hedgeסָבִיבsa/VIVaroundלוֹloitוַיַּחְצֹבvay/yach/TSOVand hewedיֶקֶבYE/keva winepressוַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand builtמִגְדָּלmig/DALa towerבְּתוֹכוֹbe/to/KHOin its midstוַיִּתְּנֵהוּvay/yit/te/NE/huand gave itאֶל־כֹּרְמִיםel-kor/MIMto vinedressersוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentבְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekhon a wayמֵרָחוֹק׃me/ra/CHOKfar off

    Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:

34. 34

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּהַגִּיעַbe/hag/GI/awhen arrivedעֵתetthe time ofהַבָּצִירhab/ba/TSIRthe vintageוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand he sentעֲבָדָיוa/va/DAYVhis servantsאֶל־הַכֹּרְמִיםel-hak/kor/MIMto the vinedressersלָקַחַתla/KA/chatto takeאֶת־פִּרְיוֹ׃et-pir/YOits fruit

    And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.

35. 35

    וַיַּחֲזִיקוּvay/ya/cha/ZI/kuand seizedהַכֹּרְמִיםhak/kor/MIMthe vinedressersבַּעֲבָדָיוba/a/va/DAYVhis servantsאֶת־זֶהet-zethis oneהִכּוּhik/KUthey beatוְאֶת־זֶהve/ET-zeand this oneהָרְגוּha/re/GUthey killedוְאֶת־זֶהve/ET-zeand this oneסָקָלוּ׃sa/ka/LUthey stoned

    And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

36. 36

    וַיּוֹסֶףvay/YO/sefand he againשְׁלֹחַshe/LO/achsentעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMservantsאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMotherרַבִּיםrab/BIMmoreמִן־הָרִאשׁוֹנִיםmin-ha/ri/sho/NIMthan the firstוְגַם־לָהֶםve/GAM-la/HEMand to them alsoעֲשׂוּa/SUthey didכֵן׃khenso

    Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.

37. 37

    וּבָאַחֲרוֹנָהu/va/a/cha/ro/NAand at lastשָׁלַחsha/LACHhe sentאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאֶת־בְּנוֹet-be/NOhis sonכִּיkiforאָמַרa/MARhe saidמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbeforeבְנִיve/NImy sonיָגוּרוּ׃ya/GU/ruthey will be in awe

    But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.

38. 38

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּרְאוֹתkir/OTwhen sawהַכֹּרְמִיםhak/kor/MIMthe vinedressersאֶת־הַבֵּןet-hab/BENthe sonוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאִישׁisha manאֶל־אָחִיוel-a/CHIVto his brotherזֶהzethisהוּאhuisהַיּוֹרֵשׁhay/yo/RESHthe heirלְכוּle/KHUcomeוְנַהַרְגֵהוּve/na/har/GE/hulet us kill himוְנֹאחֲזָהve/no/cha/ZAand let us take holdבְּנַחֲלָתוֹ׃be/na/cha/la/TOof his inheritance

    But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.

39. 39

    וַיַּחֲזִיקוּvay/ya/cha/ZI/kuand they seizedבוֹvohimוַיִּדְחָפוּהוּvay/yid/cha/fu/HUand pushed himאֶל־מִחוּץel-mi/CHUTSoutsideלַכָּרֶםlak/KA/remthe vineyardוַיַּהַרְגוּvay/ya/har/GUand killedאֹתוֹ׃o/TOhim

    And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.

40. 40

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowכִּי־יָבוֹאki-ya/VOwhen comesבַּעַלBA/althe master ofהַכָּרֶםhak/KA/remthe vineyardמַה־יַּעֲשֶׂהma-ya/a/SEwhat will he doלַכֹּרְמִיםlak/kor/MIMto the vinedressersהָהֵם׃ha/HEMthose

    When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

41. 41

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיָרַעya/RAhe will do evilלָרָעִיםla/ra/IMto the evilוִיאַבְּדֵםvi/ab/be/DEMand destroy themוְאֶת־הַכֶּרֶםve/ET-hak/KE/remand the vineyardיִתֵּןyit/TENhe will giveלְכֹרְמִיםle/khor/MIMto vinedressersאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMotherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיָשִׁיבוּya/SHI/vuwill returnלוֹlohimאֶת־פִּרְיוֹet-pir/YOits fruitבְּעִתּוֹ׃be/it/TOin its season

    They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

42. 42

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהֲכִיha/KHIdidלֹא־קְרָאתֶםlo-ke/ra/TEMyou not readבַּכְּתוּבִיםbak/ke/tu/VIMin the scripturesאֶבֶןE/vena stoneמָאֲסוּma/a/SUrejectedהַבּוֹנִיםhab/bo/NIMthe buildersהָיְתָהha/ye/TAhas becomeלְרֹאשׁle/ROSHthe head ofפִּנָּהpin/NAthe cornerמֵאֵתme/ETfromהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasזֹּאתzotthisהִיאhiit isנִפְלָאתnif/LATmarvelousבְּעֵינֵינוּ׃be/e/NE/nuin our eyes

    Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

43. 43

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכִּי־תֻקַּחki-tuk/KACHthat will be takenמִכֶּםmik/KEMfrom youמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוְתִסֹּבve/tis/SOVand be turned overלְגוֹיle/GOYto a nationאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEwill produceאֶת־פִּרְיָהּ׃et-pir/YAits fruit

    Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

44. 44

    וְהַנֹּפֵלve/han/no/FELand he who fallsעַל־הָאֶבֶןal-ha/E/venon the stoneהַהִיאha/HIthatיִשָּׁבֵרyish/sha/VERwill be brokenוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whomתִּפֹּלtip/POLit fallsעָלָיוa/LAYVon himתִּשְׁחָקֵהוּ׃tish/cha/ke/HUit will crush him

    And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

45. 45

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּשְׁמֹעַkish/MO/awhen heardרָאשֵׁיra/SHEthe chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַפְּרוּשִׁיםve/hap/Pe/ru/SHIMand the Phariseesאֶת־מְשָׁלָיוet-me/sha/LAYVhis parablesוַיָּבִינוּvay/ya/VI/nuthey understoodכִּיkithatעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMabout themדִּבֵּר׃dib/BERhe spoke

    And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

46. 46

    וַיְבַקְשׁוּvay/vak/SHUand they soughtלְתָפְשׂוֹle/ta/fe/SOto seize himוַיִּירְאוּvay/yi/re/Uand they fearedמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofרָב־הָעָםrav-ha/AMthe many peopleכִּיkiforלְנָבִיאle/na/VIa prophetחֲשָׁבֻהוּ׃cha/sha/vu/HUthey held him

    But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
