    כִּיForדוֹמָהis like untoמַלְכוּתthe kingdom ofהַשָּׁמַיִםheavenלְאִישׁa manבַּעַל־בָּיִתthat is an householder,אֲשֶׁרwhichהִשְׁכִּיםwent out earlyבַּבֹּקֶרin the morningוַיֵּצֵאand went outלִשְׂכֹּרto hireפֹּעֲלִיםlaborersלְכַרְמוֹ׃into his vineyard.

    For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.

    וַיִּפְסַקAnd when he had agreedעִםwithהַפֹּעֲלִיםthe laborersדִּינָרfor a pennyלַיּוֹםa day,וַיִּשְׁלָחֵםhe sent themאֶל־כַּרְמוֹ׃into his vineyard.

    And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

    וַיֵּצֵאAnd he went outבַּשָּׁעָהabout hour,הַשְׁלִישִׁיתthe thirdוַיַּרְאand sawאֲחֵרִיםothersעֹמְדִיםstandingבְּטֵלִיםidleבַּשּׁוּק׃in the marketplace,

    And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,

    וַיֹּאמֶרAnd saidלָהֶםunto them;לְכוּGo youגַם־אַתֶּםalsoאֶל־כַּרְמִיinto the vineyard,וַאֲנִיand Iאֶתֵּןwill giveלָכֶםyouכַּמִּשְׁפָּטwhat is right.וַיֵּלֵכוּ׃And they went their way.

    And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.

    וַיֵּצֵאAgain he went outגַּםaboutבַּשָּׁעָהthe hourהַשִׁשִׁיתthe sixthגַּםandבַּתְּשִׁיעִיתninth hour,וַיַּעַשׂand didכַּדָּבָרaccording toהַזֶּה׃this manner.

    Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.

    וַיֵּצֵאAnd he went outבִּשְׁעַתat the hour ofעַשְׁתֵּי־עֶשְׂרֵהthe eleventh,וַיִּמְצָאand foundאֲחֵרִיםothersעֹמְדִיםstandingבְּטֵלִיםidle,וַיֹּאמֶרand saithאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,לָמָּהWhyאַתֶּםyouעֹמְדִיםstandפֹּהhereבְּטֵלִיםidle?כׇּל־הַיּוֹם׃all the day

    And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

    וַיֹּאמְרוּThey sayלוֹunto him,כִּיBecauseלֹא־שָׂכַרhath hiredאוֹתָנוּus.אִישׁno manוַיֹּאמֶרHe saithאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,לְכוּGo youגַם־אַתֶּםalsoאֶל־הַכֶּרֶםinto the vineyard;וּשְׂכַרְכֶםand whatsoever is right,יֻתַּןshall be givenלָכֶם׃unto you.

    They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.

    וַיְהִיSo whenבָעֶרֶבeven was come,וַיֹּאמֶרsaithבַּעַלthe lord ofהַכֶּרֶםthe vineyardאֶל־פְּקִידוֹunto his steward,קְרָאCallאֶת־הַפֹּעֲלִיםthe laborers,וְתֵןand giveלָהֶםthemאֶת־שְׂכָרָםtheir hire,הָחֵלbeginningבָּאַחֲרוֹנִיםfrom the lastוְכַלֵּהand endingבָּרִאשׁוֹנִים׃unto the first.

    So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.

    וַיָּבֹאוּAnd when they cameהַנִּשְׂכָּרִיםthat were hiredבִּשְׁעַתat the hour ofאַחַת־עֶשְׂרֵהthe eleventh,וַיִּקְחוּthey receivedאִישׁeveryאִישׁmanדִּינָרa pennyאֶחָד׃apiece.

    And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.

    וּבְבֹאBut when came,הָרִאשׁוֹנִיםthe firstדִּמּוּthey supposedבְנַפְשָׁםwithin themselvesכִּיthatיִקְחוּthey should have receivedיוֹתֵרmore;וַיִּקְחוּand they receivedגַּם־הֵםlikewiseאִישׁeveryאִישׁmanדִּינָרa pennyאֶחָד׃apiece.

    But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.

    וַיְהִיAndבְקַחְתָּםwhen they had received it,וַיִּלּוֹנוּthey murmuredעַל־בַּעַלagainst the goodman ofהַבַּיִתthe house,לֵאמֹר׃Saying,

    And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,

    אֵלֶּהTheseהָאַחֲרוֹנִיםlastלֹאnotעָשׂוּhave wroughtכִּיbutאִםonlyשָׁעָהhour,אֶחָתoneוְאַתָּהand youהִשְׁוִיתָhast made equalאֹתָםthemלָנוּunto us,אֲשֶׁרwhichסָבַלְנוּhave borneאֶת־טֹרַחthe burdenהַיּוֹםof the dayוְחֻמּוֹ׃and heat.

    Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.

  13. 13

    וַיַּעַןBut he answeredוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֶל־אֶחָדto oneמֵהֶםof them,רֵעִיFriend,לֹאnoהוֹנֵיתִיI do wrong:אֹתְךָyouהֲלֹאdid not youדִינָרfor a penny?פָּסַקְתָּagreeעִמִּי׃with me

    But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?

  14. 14

    קַחTakeאֶת־שֶׁלְּךָthat your is,וָלֵךְand go your way:וַאֲנִיIרְצוֹנִיwillשֶׁאֶתֵּןgiveלָזֶהunto thisהָאַחֲרוֹןlast,כָּמוֹךָ׃even as unto you.

    Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.

    הֲלֹאIs it not lawfulאוּכַלthat I mayלַעֲשׂוֹתdoבְּשֶׁלִּיwith mine own?כִּרְצוֹנִיwhat I willהַאִם־תֵּרַעIs evil,עֵינְךָyour eyeעַל־אֲשֶׁרbecauseטוֹבgood?אָנִי׃I am

    Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?

  16. 16

    כֵּןSoיִהְיוּshall beהָאַחֲרוֹנִיםthe lastרִאשׁוֹנִיםfirst,וְהָרִאשׁוֹנִיםand the firstיִהְיוּshall beאַחֲרוֹנִיםlast:כִּי־רַבִּיםfor manyהֵםbeהַקְּרוּאִיםcalled,וּמְעַטִּיםbut fewהַנִּבְחָרִים׃chosen.

    So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

  17. 17

    וַיְהִיAndכַּעֲלוֹתgoing upיֵשׁוּעַJesusיְרוּשָׁלַיִםto Jerusalemוַיִּקַּחtookאֵלָיוunto himאֶת־שְׁנֵים־הֶעָשָׂרthe twelveהַתַּלְמִידִיםdisciplesלְבַדָּםapartוַיֹּאמֶרand saidלָהֶםunto them,בַּדָּרֶךְ׃in the way,

    And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,

  18. 18

    הִנְנוּBehold, weעֹלִיםgo upיְרוּשָׁלָיְמָהto Jerusalem;וּבֶן־הָאָדָםand the Son of manיִמָּסֵרshall be betrayedלְרָאשֵׁיunto the chiefהַכֹּהֲנִיםpriestsוְלַסּוֹפְרִיםand unto the scribes,וְהִרְשִׁיעֻהוּand they shall condemn himלָמוּת׃to death,

    Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,

  19. 19

    וּמָסְרוּAnd shall deliverאוֹתוֹhimלַגּוֹיִםto the Gentilesלְהָתֵלto mockבּוֹhim,וּלְהַכּוֹתand to smiteאוֹתוֹhimבַּשּׁוֹטִיםwith scourges,וְלִצְלֹבand to crucifyאוֹתוֹhim:וּבַיּוֹםand dayהַשְּׁלִישִׁיthe thirdיָקוּם׃he shall rise again.

    And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

    אָזThenנִגְּשָׁהcameאֵלָיוto himאֵםthe mother ofבְּנֵיchildrenזַבְדַּיZebedee'sעִם־בָּנֶיהָwith her sons,וַתִּשְׁתַּחוּworshippingלוֹhim,לְבַקֵּשׁand desiringמִמֶּנּוּof him.דָּבָר׃a certain thing

    Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.

  21. 21

    וַיֹּאמֶרAnd he saidאֵלֶיהָunto her,מַה־בַּקָּשָׁתֵךְWhat will you?וַתֹּאמֶרShe saithאֵלָיוunto him,אֱמׇר־נָאGrantוְיֵשְׁבוּthat may sit,שְׁנֵי־בָנַיmy two sonsהָאֵלֶּהtheseאֶחָדthe oneלִימִינְךָon your right hand,וְאֶחָדand the otherלִשְׂמֹאלְךָon the left,בְּמַלְכוּתֶךָ׃in your kingdom.

    And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.

  22. 22

    וַיַּעַןBut answeredיֵשׁוּעַJesusוַיֹּאמֶרand said,לֹאnotיְדַעְתֶּםYou knowאֵת־אֲשֶׁרwhatשְׁאֶלְתֶּםyou ask.הֲיָכֹלAre you ableתּוּכְלוּindeedלִשְׁתּוֹתto drink ofאֶת־הַכּוֹסthe cupאֲשֶׁרthatאֲנִיIעָתִידam about toלִשְׁתּוֹתוֹdrink of,וּלְהִטָּבֵלand to be baptizedטְבִילָהwith the baptismאֲשֶׁרthatאֲנִיIנִטְבָּלam baptized with?וַיֹּאמְרוּThey sayאֵלָיוunto him,נוּכׇל׃We are able.

    But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

  23. 23

    וַיֹּאמֶרAnd he saithאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,הֵןindeedאֶת־כּוֹסִיof my cup,תִשְׁתּוּYou shall drinkוּטְבִילָהand with the baptismאֲשֶׁרthatאֲנִיIנִטְבָּלam baptized withתִּטָּבֵלוּbe baptized:וְשֶׁבֶתbut to sitלִימִינִיon my right hand,וְלִשְׂמֹאלִיand on my left,אֵיןis notבְּיָדִיmineלְתִתָּהto give,בִּלְתִּיbutלַאֲשֶׁרit shall be given to them for whomהוּכַןit is preparedלָהֶםfor themמֵאֵתofאָבִי׃my Father.

    And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

  24. 24

    וַיְהִיAndכַּאֲשֶׁרwhenשָׁמְעוּ־זֹאתheard it,הָעֲשָׂרָהthe tenוַיִכְעֲסוּthey were moved with indignationאֶל־שְׁנֵיagainst the twoהָאַחִים׃brethren.

    And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.

  25. 25

    וַיֵשׁוּעַBut Jesusקָרָאcalledלָהֶםthem unto him,וַיֹּאמַרand said,אַתֶּםYouיְדַעְתֶּםknowכִּי־שָׂרֵיthat the princes ofהַגּוֹיִםthe Gentilesרֹדִיםexercise dominionבָּהֶםover them,וְהַגְּדוֹלִיםand they that are greatשֹׁלְטִיםexercise authorityעֲלֵיהֶם׃upon them.

    But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

  26. 26

    וְאַתֶּםButאַל־יְהִיit shall not beכֵןsoבֵּינֵיכֶםamong you:כִּיbutהֶחָפֵץwhosoever willלִהְיוֹתbeגָּדוֹלgreatבְּקִרְבְּכֶםamong you,יְהִיlet him beלָכֶםyourלִמְשָׁרֵת׃minister;

    But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

  27. 27

    וְהֶחָפֵץAnd whosoever willלִהְיוֹתbeלְרֹאשׁchiefבְּקִרְבְּכֶםamong you,יְהִיlet him beלָכֶםyourעָבֶד׃servant:

    And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

  28. 28

    כַּאֲשֶׁרEven asבֶּן־הָאָדָםthe Son of manלֹאnotבָאcameלְמַעַןthatאֲשֶׁר־יְשָׁרְתוּהוּhe should be served,כִּיbutאִםratherלְשָׁרֵתto minister,וְלָתֵתand to giveאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹhis lifeכֹּפֶרa ransomתַּחַתforרַבִּים׃many.

    Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

  29. 29

    וַיְהִיAndכְּצֵאתָםas they departedמִירִיחוֹfrom Jericho,וַיֵּלֶךְfollowedאַחֲרָיוhim.הֲמוֹןmultitudeעַם־רָב׃a great

    And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.

  30. 30

    וְהִנֵּהAnd, behold,שְׁנֵי־עִוְרִיםtwo blind menיֹשְׁבִיםsittingעַל־יַדbyהַדָּרֶךְthe way side,וַיִּשְׁמְעוּwhen they heardכִּיthatיֵשׁוּעַJesusעֹבֵרpassed by,וַיִּצְעֲקוּcried out,לֵאמֹרsaying,חָנֵּנוּ־נָאHave mercy on us,אֲדֹנֵינוּO Lord,בֶּן־דָּוִד׃you Son of David.

    And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.

  31. 31

    וַיִּגְעַר־בָּםAnd rebuked them,הָעָםthe multitudeלְהַחֲשֹׁתָםbecause they should hold their peace:וְהֵםbut theyצָעֲקוּcriedעוֹדthe more,וַיֹּאמְרוּsaying,אֲדֹנֵינוּO Lord,חָנֵּנוּ־נָאHave mercy on us,בֶּן־דָּוִד׃you Son of David.

    And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.

  32. 32

    וַיַּעֲמֹדAnd stood still,יֵשׁוּעַJesusוַיִּקְרָאand calledלָהֶםthem,וַיֹּאמַרand said,מַה־תִּרְצוּWhat will youשֶׁאֶעֱשֶׂהthat I shall doלָכֶם׃unto you?

    And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?

  33. 33

    וַיֹּאמְרוּThey sayאֵלָיוunto him,אֲדֹנֵינוּLord,אֲשֶׁרthatתִּפָּקַחְנָהmay be opened.עֵינֵינוּ׃our eyes

    They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.

  34. 34

    וְרַחֲמֵיSo the compassion ofיֵשׁוּעַJesusנִכְמָרוּwas moved on them,וַיִּגַּעand touchedבְּעֵינֵיהֶםtheir eyes:וּפִתְאֹםand immediatelyנִפְקְחוּreceived sight,עֵינֵיהֶםtheir eyesוַיֵּלְכוּand they followedאַחֲרָיו׃him.

    So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
