   And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judæa beyond Jordan;

   And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

   וַיִּגְּשׁוּvay/yig/ge/SHUand came nearאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהַפְּרוּשִׁיםhap/Pe/ru/SHIMthe Phariseesלְנַסּוֹתוֹle/nas/so/TOto test himוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand saidהֲמֻתָּרha/mut/TARis it lawfulלְאִישׁle/ISHfor a manלְשַׁלַּחle/shal/LACHsend awayאֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹet-ish/TOhis wifeעַל־כׇּל־דָּבָר׃al-kol-da/VARfor any matter

   The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

   And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

   וְאֹמֵרve/o/MERand saidעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeיַעֲזׇב־אִישׁya/a/ZOV-isha man will leaveאֶת־אָבִיוet-a/VIVhis fatherוְאֶת־אִמּוֹve/ET-im/MOand his motherוְדָבַקve/da/VAKand clingבְּאִשְׁתּוֹbe/ish/TOto his wifeוְהָיוּve/ha/YUand they will beשְׁנֵיהֶםshe/ne/HEMthe two of themלְבָשָׂרle/va/SARfleshאֶחָד׃e/CHADone

   And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

6. 6

   אִם־כֵּןim-kenif soאֵינָםe/NAMthey are notעוֹדodanymoreשְׁנַיִםshe/NA/yimtwoכִּיkibutאִם־בָּשָׂרim-ba/SARrather fleshאֶחָדe/CHADoneלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatחִבֵּרchib/BERhas joinedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאַל־יַפְרֵדal-yaf/REDlet not separateהָאָדָם׃ha/a/DAMman

   Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

   וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himוְלָמָּהve/LAM/maand whyזֶּהzethenצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesלָתֶת־לָהּLA/tet-lato give herסֵפֶרSE/fera scroll ofכְּרִיתֻתke/ri/TUTdivorceוּלְשַׁלְּחָהּ׃u/le/shal/le/CHAand to send her away

   They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofקְשִׁיke/SHIthe hardness ofלְבַבְכֶםle/vav/KHEMyour heartsהִנִּיחַhin/NI/achpermittedלָכֶםla/KHEMyouמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesלְשַׁלַּחle/shal/LACHto send awayאֶת־נְשֵׁיכֶםet-ne/she/KHEMyour wivesוּמֵרֹאשׁu/me/ROSHand from the beginningלֹאlonotהָיָהha/YAwasהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe matterכֵּן׃kenso

   He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

   וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youהַמְשַׁלֵּחַham/shal/LE/achwhoever sends awayאֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹet-ish/TOhis wifeשֶׁלֹּאshel/LOnotעַל־דְּבַרal-de/VARfor the matter ofזְנוּתze/NUTfornicationוְנֹשֵׂאve/no/SEand marriesאַחֶרֶתa/CHE/retanotherנֹאֵףno/EFcommits adulteryהוּאhuheוְהַנֹּשֵׂאve/han/no/SEand whoever marriesאֶת־הַגְּרוּשָׁהet-hag/ge/ru/SHAthe divorced womanנֹאֵףno/EFcommits adulteryהוּא׃huhe

   And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesאִם־זֶהim-zeif this isמִשְׁפַּטmish/PATthe case ofהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹet-ish/TOwith his wifeלֹאlonotטוֹבtovit is goodלָקַחַתla/KA/chatto takeאִשָּׁה׃ish/SHAa wife

    His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themלֹאlonotיוּכַלyu/KHALcanכׇּל־אָדָםkol-a/DAMevery manקַבֵּלkab/BELreceiveאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe wordהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכִּי־אִםki-imbut onlyאֵלֶּהEL/lethoseאֲשֶׁר־נִתַּןa/SHER-nit/TANto whom it is givenלָהֶם׃la/HEMthem

    But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

    For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

    אָזazthenיָבִיאוּya/VI/uthey broughtאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיְלָדִיםye/la/DIMchildrenלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיָשִׂיםya/SIMhe might putעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themאֶת־יָדָיוet-ya/DAYVhis handsוְיִתְפַּלָּלve/yit/pal/LALand prayוַיִּגְעֲרוּ־בָםvay/yig/a/RU-vamand rebuked themהַתַּלְמִידִים׃hat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciples

    Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

14. 14

    וְיֵשׁוּעַve/Ye/SHU/abut Jesusאָמַרa/MARsaidהַנִּיחוּhan/NI/chuletלַיְלָדִיםlay/la/DIMthe childrenוְאַל־תִּמְנָעוּםve/AL-tim/na/UMand do not hinder themמִבּוֹאmib/BOfrom comingאֵלָיe/LAYto meכִּיkiforלְאֵלֶּהle/EL/leto suchמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהַשָּׁמָיִם׃hash/sha/MA/yimheaven

    But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

15. 15

    וַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand he laidאֶת־יָדָיוet-ya/DAYVhis handsעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themוַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORand passed onמִשָּׁם׃mish/SHAMfrom there

    And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

16. 16

    וְהִנֵּה־אִישׁve/hin/NE-ishand behold a manנִגָּשׁnig/GASHcame nearאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidרַבִּיrab/BIrabbiהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodמַהmawhatהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEshall I doוְאֶקְנֶהve/ek/NEand I may acquireחַיֵּיchay/YEthe life ofעוֹלָם׃o/LAMeternity

    And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17. 17

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמָה־זֶּהma-zewhyתִּקְרָאֵנִיtik/ra/e/NIdo you call meטוֹבtovgoodאֵין־טוֹבen-tovthere is none goodכִּיkibutאִם־אֶחָדim-e/CHADonly oneוְהוּאve/HUand He isהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוְאִם־חֶפְצְךָve/IM-chef/tse/KHAand if your desire isלָבוֹאla/VOto enterלַחַיִּיםla/chay/YIMinto lifeשְׁמֹרshe/MORkeepאֶת־הַמִּצְוֹת׃et-ham/mits/VOTthe commandments

    And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

18. 18

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמָהmawhatהֵנָּהHEN/naare theyוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֵלֶּהEL/letheseהֵןhenareלֹאlonotתִרְצָחtir/TSACHyou shall murderלֹאlonotתִנְאָףtin/AFyou shall commit adulteryלֹאlonotתִגְנֹבtig/NOVyou shall stealלֹאlonotתַעֲנֶהta/a/NEyou shall bearעֵדedas witness ofשָׁקֶר׃SHA/kerfalsehood

    He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

19. 19

    כַּבֵּדkab/BEDhonorאֶת־אָבִיךָet-a/VI/khayour fatherוְאֶת־אִמֶּךָve/ET-im/ME/khaand your motherוְאָהַבְתָּve/a/hav/TAand you shall loveלְרֵעֲךָle/re/a/KHAyour neighborכָּמוֹךָ׃ka/MO/khaas yourself

    Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

20. 20

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהַבָּחוּרhab/ba/CHURthe young manאֶת־כׇּל־אֵלֶּהet-kol-EL/leall these thingsשָׁמַרְתִּיsha/MAR/tiI have keptמִנְּעוּרָיmin/ne/u/RAYfrom my youthוּמֶהu/MEand whatחָסַרְתִּיcha/sar/TIdo I lackעוֹד׃odyet

    The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

21. 21

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאִם־חֶפְצְךָim-chef/tse/KHAif your desire isלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beשָׁלֵםsha/LEMcompleteלֵךְlekhgoמְכֹרme/KHORsellאֶת־רְכֻשְׁךָet-re/khush/KHAyour goodsוְנָתַתָּve/na/tat/TAand giveלָעֲנִיִּיםla/a/niy/YIMto the poorוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand there will beלְךָle/KHAto youאוֹצָרo/TSARtreasureבַּשָּׁמָיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenוְשׁוּבve/SHUVand come backהֲלֹםha/LOMhereוְהָלַכְתָּve/ha/lakh/TAand goאַחֲרָי׃a/cha/RAYafter me

    Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

22. 22

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּשְׁמֹעַkish/MO/awhen heardהַבָּחוּרhab/ba/CHURthe young manאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe wordהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוַיִּתְעַצֵּבvay/yit/ats/TSEVhe was grievedוַיֵּלַךְvay/ye/LAKHand wentכִּיkiforנְכָסִיםne/kha/SIMpossessionsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyהָיוּha/YUwereלוֹ׃loto him

    But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

23. 23

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֶל־תַּלְמִידָיוel-tal/mi/DAYVto his disciplesאָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youקָשֶׁהka/SHEhardלֶעָשִׁירle/a/SHIRfor a rich manלָבוֹאla/VOto enterאֶל־מַלְכוּתel-mal/KHUTinto the kingdom ofהַשָּׁמָיִם׃hash/sha/MA/yimheaven

    Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

24. 24

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youנָקֵלna/KELeasierלַגָּמָלlag/ga/MALfor a camelלַעֲבֹרla/a/VORto passבְּנֶקֶבbe/NE/kevthrough the eye ofהַמַּחַטham/MA/chata needleמִבֹּאmib/BOthan to enterעָשִׁירa/SHIRa rich manאֶל־מַלְכוּתel-mal/KHUTinto the kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

25. 25

    וְהַתַּלְמִידִיםve/hat/tal/mi/DIMand the disciplesכְּשׇׁמְעָםke/shom/AMwhen they heardזֹאתzotthisהִשְׁתּוֹמֲמוּhish/to/ma/MUwere astonishedמְאֹדme/ODveryוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidמִיmiwhoאֵפוֹאe/FOthenיוּכַלyu/KHALcanלְהִוָּשֵׁעַ׃le/hiv/va/SHE/abe saved

    When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

26. 26

    וַיַּבֶּט־בָּםvay/yab/BET-bamand looked at themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEfor the sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenיִפָּלֵאyip/pa/LEis too hardהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe thingוּמֵהָאֱלֹהִיםu/me/ha/e/lo/HIMbut for Godלֹאlonotיִפָּלֵאyip/pa/LEis too hardכׇל־דָּבָר׃khol-da/VARany thing

    But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

27. 27

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהֵןhenbeholdאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweעָזַבְנוּa/ZAV/nuhave leftאֶת־הַכֹּלet-hak/KOLallוַנֵּלֶךְvan/NE/lekhand wentאַחֲרֶיךָa/cha/RE/khaafter youוּמַה־יִּהְיֶהu/MA-yih/YEand what will beחֶלְקֵנוּ׃chel/ke/NUour portion

    Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

28. 28

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאַתֶּםat/TEMyouהַהֹלְכִיםha/hol/KHIMwho wentאַחֲרָיa/cha/RAYmeבְּהִתְחַדֵּשׁbe/hit/chad/DESHin the renewing ofהַבְּרִיאָהhab/be/ri/Athe creationכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenיֵשֵׁבye/SHEVsitsבֶּן־הָאָדָםben-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manעַל־כִּסֵּאal-kis/SEon the throne ofכְבוֹדוֹkhe/vo/DOhis gloryגַּם־אַתֶּםgam-at/TEMyou alsoתֵּשְׁבוּtesh/VUwill sitעַל־שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂרal-she/NEM-a/SARon twelveכִּסְאוֹתkis/OTthronesלִשְׁפֹּטlish/POTto judgeאֶת־שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂרet-she/NEM-a/SARthe twelveשִׁבְטֵיshiv/TEthe tribes ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

    And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

    וְכׇל־אִישׁve/KHOL-ishand every manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָזַבa/ZAVhas leftבָּתִּיםbat/TIMhousesוְאַחִיםve/a/CHIMor brothersוַאֲחָיוֹתva/a/cha/YOTor sistersוְאָבve/AVor fatherוָאֵםva/EMor motherוְאֵשֶׁתve/E/shetor wifeוּבָנִיםu/va/NIMor childrenוְשָׂדוֹתve/sa/DOTor landsלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofשְׁמִיshe/MImy nameהוּאhuheיִקַּחyik/KACHshall receiveמֵאָהme/Aa hundredשְׁעָרִיםshe/a/RIMmeasuresוְחַיֵּיve/chay/YEand the life ofעוֹלָםo/LAMeternityיִירָשׁ׃yi/RASHwill inherit

    And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

30. 30

    וְאוּלָםve/u/LAMbutרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמִן־הָרִאשׁוֹנִיםmin-ha/ri/sho/NIMof the firstיִהְיוּyih/YUwill beאַחֲרוֹנִיםa/cha/ro/NIMlastוּמִן־הָאַחֲרוֹנִיםu/MIN-ha/a/cha/ro/NIMand of the lastרִאשׁוֹנִים׃ri/sho/NIMfirst

    But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
