   At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

   וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֶלֶדYE/leda childקָטָןka/TANsmallוַיַּעֲמִידֵהוּvay/ya/a/mi/de/HUand stood himבְתוֹכָם׃ve/to/KHAMin their midst

   And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

   וַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאִם־לֹאim-loif notתָשׁוּבוּta/shu/VUyou turnלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beכַּיְלָדִיםkay/la/DIMlike childrenלֹאlonotתָבֹאוּta/VO/uyou will enterאֶל־מַלְכוּתel-mal/KHUTinto the kingdom ofהַשָּׁמָיִם׃hash/sha/MA/yimheaven

   And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכׇּל־הַמַּשְׁפִּילkol-ham/mash/PILwhoever humblesאֶת־עַצְמוֹet-ats/MOhimselfכַּיֶּלֶדkay/YE/ledlike the childהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisהוּאhuhe isהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLthe greatestבְּמַלְכוּתbe/mal/KHUTin the kingdom ofהַשָּׁמָיִם׃hash/sha/MA/yimheaven

   Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

   וְהַמְקַבֵּלve/ham/kab/BELand whoever receivesיֶלֶדYE/ledchildאֶחָדe/CHADoneכָּזֶהka/ZElike thisבִּשְׁמִיbish/MIin my nameאוֹתִיo/TImeהוּאhuheמְקַבֵּל׃me/kab/BELreceives

   And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

   הַמַּכְשִׁילham/makh/SHILwhoever causes to stumbleאֶת־אֶחָדet-e/CHADoneמִן־הַקְּטַנִּיםmin-hak/ke/tan/NIMof the little onesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseהַמַּאֲמִינִיםham/ma/a/mi/NIMwho believeבִּיbiin meנוֹחַNO/achbetterלוֹlofor himשֶׁיִּתָּלֶהshey/yit/ta/LEthat were hungפֶלַח־רֶכֶבFE/lach-RE/khevan upper millstoneעַל־צַוָּארוֹal-tsav/va/ROon his neckוְטֻבַּעve/tub/BAand he were sunkבִּמְצוּלוֹתbim/tsu/LOTin the depths ofיָם׃yamthe sea

   But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

   אוֹיoywoeלָעוֹלָםla/o/LAMto the worldמִן־הַמִּכְשֹׁלִיםmin-ham/mikh/sho/LIMbecause of the stumbling blocksכִּיkiforהַמִּכְשֹׁלִיםham/mikh/sho/LIMthe stumbling blocksבּוֹאbocomeיָבֹאוּya/VO/uwill comeאֲבָלa/VALbutאוֹיoywoeלָאִישׁla/ISHto the manהַהוּאha/HUthatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעַל־יָדוֹal-ya/DOby his handיָבוֹאya/VOcomesהַמִּכְשׁוֹל׃ham/mikh/SHOLthe stumbling block

   Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

   וְאִם־תַּכְשִׁילְךָve/IM-takh/shi/le/KHAand if causes you to stumbleיָדְךָya/de/KHAyour handאוֹoorרַגְלְךָrag/le/KHAyour footקַצֵּץkats/TSETScut offאוֹתָןo/TANthemוְהַשְׁלֵךְve/hash/LEKHand throwמִמֶּךָּmim/MEK/kafrom youטוֹבtovbetterלְךָle/KHAfor youלָבוֹאla/VOto enterלַחַיִּיםla/chay/YIMinto lifeפִּסֵּחַpis/SE/achlameאוֹoorקִטֵּעַkit/TE/amaimedמִהְיוֹתmih/YOTthan to beלְךָle/KHAto youשְׁתֵּיshtetwoיָדַיִםya/DA/yimhandsאוֹ־שְׁתֵּיo-shteor twoרַגְלַיִםrag/LA/yimfeetוְתֻשְׁלַךְve/tush/LAKHand be thrownאֶל־אֵשׁel-eshinto the fire ofעוֹלָם׃o/LAMeternity

   Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

   וְאִם־עֵינְךָve/IM-e/ne/KHAand if your eyeתַכְשִׁילְךָtakh/shi/le/KHAcauses you to stumbleנַקֵּרnak/KERgouge outאוֹתָהּo/TAitוְהַשְׁלֵךְve/hash/LEKHand throwמִמֶּךָּmim/MEK/kafrom youטוֹבtovbetterלְךָle/KHAfor youלָבוֹאla/VOto enterלַחַיִּיםla/chay/YIMinto lifeבְּעַיִןbe/A/yinwith eyeאַחַתa/CHAToneמִהְיוֹתmih/YOTthan to beלְךָle/KHAto youשְׁתֵּיshtetwoעֵינַיִםe/NA/yimeyesוְתֻשְׁלַךְve/tush/LAKHand be thrownאֶל־אֵשׁel-eshinto the fire ofגֵּיהִנֹּם׃Ge/hin/NOMGehenna

   And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

    Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

    כִּיkiforבֶן־הָאָדָםven-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manבָּאbahas comeלְהוֹשִׁיעַle/ho/SHI/ato saveאֶת־הָאֹבֵד׃et-ha/o/VEDthe lost

    For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

    מַה־דַּעְתְּכֶםma-da/te/KHEMwhat is your opinionכִּי־יִהְיוּki-yih/YUif there areלְאִישׁle/ISHto a manמֵאָהme/Aa hundredכְבָשִׂיםkhe/va/SIMsheepוְאָבַדve/a/VADand is lostאֶחָדe/CHADoneמֵהֶםme/HEMof themהֲלֹאha/LOwill he notיַעֲזֹבya/a/ZOVleaveאֶת־הַתִּשְׁעִיםet-hat/tish/IMthe ninetyוְתִשְׁעָהve/tish/Aand nineעַל־הֶהָרִיםal-he/ha/RIMon the mountainsוְהָלַךְve/ha/LAKHand goלְבַקֵּשׁle/vak/KESHto seekאֶת־הָאֹבֵד׃et-ha/o/VEDthe lost one

    How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

13. 13

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it will beכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenיִמְצָאֵהוּyim/tsa/E/huhe finds itאָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכִּי־יִשְׂמַחki-yis/MACHthat he rejoicesעָלָיוa/LAYVover itיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreמֵעַלme/ALthan overהַתִּשְׁעִיםhat/tish/IMthe ninetyוְתִשְׁעָהve/tish/Aand nineאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹאlonotאָבָדוּ׃a/VA/duwere lost

    And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

14. 14

    כֵּןkensoאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuit is notרָצוֹןra/TSONthe willמִלִּפְנֵיmil/lif/NEbeforeאֲבִיכֶםA/vi/KHEMyour Fatherשֶׁבַּשָּׁמָיִםsheb/bash/sha/MA/yimwho is in heavenשֶׁיֹּאבַדshey/yo/VADthat should perishאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִן־הַקְּטַנִּיםmin-hak/ke/tan/NIMof the little onesהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

15. 15

    וְכִיve/KHIand ifיֶחֱטָא־לְךָye/che/TA-le/KHAsins against youאָחִיךָa/CHI/khayour brotherלֵךְlekhgoוְהוֹכַחְתָּve/ho/khach/TAand reproveאוֹתוֹo/TOhimבֵּינְךָbe/ne/KHAbetween youלְבֵינוֹle/ve/NOand himוְאִם־יִשְׁמַעve/IM-yish/MAand if he listensאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youקָנִיתָka/NI/tayou have gainedלְּךָle/KHAfor yourselfאָחִיךָ׃a/CHI/khayour brother

    Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

16. 16

    וְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notיִשְׁמַעyish/MAhe listensוְלָקַחְתָּve/la/kach/TAand you shall takeעִמְּךָim/me/KHAwith youעוֹדodmoreאֶחָדe/CHADoneאוֹoorשְׁנָיִםshe/NA/yimtwoכִּיkiforעַל־פִּיal-piby the mouth ofשְׁנַיִםshe/NA/yimtwoאוֹoorשְׁלֹשָׁהshe/lo/SHAthreeעֵדִיםe/DIMwitnessesיָקוּםya/KUMwill standכׇּל־דָּבָר׃kol-da/VARevery word

    But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

17. 17

    וְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notיִשְׁמַעyish/MAhe listensאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themוְהִגַּדְתָּve/hig/gad/TAand tellאֶל־הַקָּהָלel-hak/ka/HALto the churchוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notיִשְׁמַעyish/MAhe listensגַּם־אֶל־הַקָּהָלgam-el-hak/ka/HALalso to the churchוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand he shall beלְךָle/KHAto youכְּגוֹיke/GOYlike a gentileוּכְמוֹכֵס׃u/khe/mo/KHESand like a tax collector

    And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

18. 18

    אָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁר־תַּאַסְרוּa/SHER-ta/as/RUthat you bindעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retson the earthאָסוּרa/SURboundיִהְיֶהyih/YEwill beבַּשָּׁמָיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenוְכֹלve/KHOLand allאֲשֶׁר־תַּתִּירוּa/SHER-tat/ti/RUthat you looseעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retson the earthמֻתָּרmut/TARloosedיִהְיֶהyih/YEwill beבַּשָּׁמָיִם׃bash/sha/MA/yimin heaven

    Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

19. 19

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youשְׁנַיִםshe/NA/yimtwoמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youכִּי־יִהְיוּki-yih/YUif areלֵבlevof heartאֶחָדe/CHADoneבָּאָרֶץba/A/retson the earthעַל־כׇּל־דָּבָרal-kol-da/VARconcerning anythingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִשְׁאָלוּyish/A/luthey askבּוֹאbocomeיָבוֹאya/VOit will comeלָהֶםla/HEMfor themמֵאֵתme/ETfromאָבִיA/VImy Fatherשֶׁבַּשָּׁמָיִם׃sheb/bash/sha/MA/yimwho is in heaven

    Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

20. 20

    כִּיkiforבְכׇל־מָקוֹםve/KHOL-ma/KOMin every placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereיֵאָסְפוּye/a/se/FUare gatheredשְׁנַיִםshe/NA/yimtwoאוֹoorשְׁלֹשָׁהshe/lo/SHAthreeבִּשְׁמִיbish/MIin my nameשָׁםshamthereאֲנִיa/NII amבְּתוֹכָם׃be/to/KHAMin the midst of them

    For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

21. 21

    וַיִּגַּשׁvay/yig/GASHand came nearאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordכַּמָּהkam/MAhow manyפְּעָמִיםpe/a/MIMtimesיֶחֱטָא־לִיye/che/TA-liwill sin against meאָחִיa/CHImy brotherוּמָחַלְתִּיu/ma/chal/TIand I forgiveלוֹlohimהַעַדha/ADup toשֶׁבַעSHE/vasevenפְּעָמִים׃pe/a/MIMtimes

    Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

22. 22

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלֹא־אֹמַרlo-O/marI do not sayלְךָle/KHAto youעַד־שֶׁבַעad-SHE/vaup to sevenפְּעָמִיםpe/a/MIMtimesכִּיkibutעַד־שִׁבְעִיםad-shiv/IMup to seventyוָשֶׁבַע׃va/SHE/vaand seven

    Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

23. 23

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeדּוֹמָהdo/MAis likeמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimheavenלְמֶלֶךְle/ME/lekhto a kingשֶׁהָיָהshe/ha/YAwho wasיוֹרֵדyo/REDgoing downלְחֶשְׁבּוֹןle/chesh/BONto the reckoningעִם־עֲבָדָיו׃im-a/va/DAYVwith his servants

    Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

24. 24

    וְכַאֲשֶׁרve/kha/a/SHERand whenהֵחֵלhe/CHELhe beganלְחַשֵׁבle/cha/SHEVto reckonהוּבָאhu/VAwas broughtלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himאִישׁisha manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהָיָהha/YAwasחַיָּבchay/YAVowingלוֹlohimעֲשֶׂרֶתa/SE/rettenאֲלָפִיםa/la/FIMthousandכִּכְּרֵיkik/ke/REtalents ofכָסֶף׃KHA/sefsilver

    And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

25. 25

    וְלֹאve/LOand notהָיָה־לוֹha/YA-lohe hadלְשַׁלֵּםle/shal/LEMto payוַיְצַוvay/TSAVcommandedאֲדֹנָיוa/do/NAYVhis lordלִמְכֹּרlim/KORto sellאוֹתוֹo/TOhimוְאֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹve/ET-ish/TOand his wifeוְאֶת־בָּנָיוve/ET-ba/NAYVand his sonsוְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹve/ET-kol-a/SHER-loand all that he hadוִישַׁלֵּם׃vi/shal/LEMand to repay

    But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

26. 26

    וַיִּפֹּלvay/yip/POLand fellהָעֶבֶדha/E/vedthe servantעַל־פָּנָיוal-pa/NAYVon his faceוַיִּשְׁתַּחוּvay/yish/TA/chuand bowed downלוֹloto himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordהַאֲרֶךְ־לִיha/a/REKH-lilengthen for meאַפֶּךָap/PE/khayour angerוַאֲשַׁלֵּםva/a/shal/LEMand I will repayלְךָle/KHAyouהַכֹּל׃hak/KOLall

    The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

27. 27

    וַיֶּהֱמוּvay/ye/he/MUand were stirredמְעֵיme/Ethe inward parts ofאֲדֹנֵיa/do/NEthe lord ofהָעֶבֶדha/E/vedthe servantהַהוּאha/HUthatוַיִּפְטְרֵהוּvay/yif/te/re/HUand released himוַיִּמְחֹלvay/yim/CHOLand forgaveלוֹlohimאֶת־חוֹבוֹ׃et-cho/VOhis debt

    Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

28. 28

    וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outהָעֶבֶדha/E/vedthe servantהַהוּאha/HUthatמִלְּפָנָיוmil/le/fa/NAYVfrom his presenceוַיִּמְצָאvay/yim/TSAand foundאֶחָדe/CHADoneמֵחֲבֵרָיוme/cha/ve/RAYVof his fellow servantsוְהוּאve/HUwhoחַיָּב־לוֹchay/YAV-loowed himמֵאָהme/Aa hundredדִינָרִיםdi/na/RIMdenariiוַיַּחֲזֶק־בּוֹvay/YA/cha/zek-boand he seized himוַיַּחְנְקֵהוּvay/yach/ne/ke/HUand choked himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingשַׁלֵּםshal/LEMpayאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatאַתָּהat/TAyouחַיָּבchay/YAVoweלִי׃lime

    But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

29. 29

    וַיִּפֹּלvay/yip/POLand fellחֲבֵרוֹcha/ve/ROhis fellowלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeרַגְלָיוrag/LAYVhis feetוַיְבַקֵּשׁvay/vak/KESHand pleadedמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuwith himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהַאֲרֶךְ־לִיha/a/REKH-lilengthen for meאַפֶּךָap/PE/khayour angerוַאֲשַׁלְּמָהva/a/shal/le/MAand I will repayלְּךָle/KHAyouהַכֹּל׃hak/KOLall

    And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

30. 30

    וְהוּאve/HUand heמֵאֵןme/ENrefusedוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentוַיַּנִּיחֵהוּvay/yan/ni/CHE/huand put himבַּמִּשְׁמָרbam/mish/MARin custodyעַדaduntilשֶׁיְּשַׁלֶּם־לוֹshey/ye/shal/LEM-lohe repaid himאֶת־חוֹבוֹ׃et-cho/VOhis debt

    And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

31. 31

    וְהָעֲבָדִיםve/ha/a/va/DIMand the servantsחֲבֵרָיוcha/ve/RAYVhis fellowsרָאוּra/Usawאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatנַעֲשָׂהna/a/SAwas doneוַיֵּעָצְבוּvay/ye/a/tse/VUand they were grievedמְאֹדme/ODveryוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand cameוַיַּגִּידוּvay/yag/GI/duand toldלַאֲדֹנֵיהֶםla/a/do/ne/HEMto their lordאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרet-kol-a/SHERall thatנַעֲשָׂה׃na/a/SAwas done

    So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

32. 32

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאֲדֹנָיוa/do/NAYVhis lordוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himאַתָּהat/TAyouעֶבֶדE/vedservantבְּלִיַּעַלbe/liy/YA/alworthlessאֶת־כׇּל־הַחוֹבet-kol-ha/CHOVall the debtהַהוּאha/HUthatמָחַלְתִּיma/chal/TII forgaveלְךָle/KHAyouיַעַןYA/anbecauseאֲשֶׁר־בִּקַּשְׁתָּa/SHER-bik/kash/TAthat you askedמִמֶּנִּי׃mim/MEN/niof me

    Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

33. 33

    הֲלֹאha/LOwas it notהָיָהha/YAsoגַם־עָלֶיךָgam-a/LE/khaalso on youלְרַחֵםle/ra/CHEMto have mercyעַלalonחֲבֵרֶךָcha/ve/re/KHAyour fellowכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasרִחַמְתִּי־אֲנִיri/cham/TI-a/NII had mercyעָלֶיךָ׃a/LE/khaon you

    Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

34. 34

    וַיִּקְצֹףvay/yik/TSOFand was angryאֲדֹנָיוa/do/NAYVhis lordוַיִּתְּנֵהוּvay/yit/te/NE/huand gave himבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofהַנֹּגְשִׂיםhan/nog/SIMthe taskmastersעַדaduntilכִּי־יְשַׁלֵּםki-ye/shal/LEMhe repaysאֶת־כׇּל־חוֹבוֹ׃et-kol-cho/VOall his debt

    And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

    כָּכָהKA/khathusיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEwill doלָכֶםla/KHEMto youגַּם־אָבִיgam-A/VIalso my Fatherשֶׁבַּשָּׁמָיִםsheb/bash/sha/MA/yimwho is in heavenאִם־לֹאim-loif notתִמְחֲלוּtim/cha/LUyou forgiveאִישׁisheach manלְאָחִיוle/a/CHIVhis brotherבְּכׇל־לְבַבְכֶםbe/KHOL-le/vav/KHEMwith all your heartעַל־חַטֹּאתָם׃al-chat/to/TAMtheir sins

    So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
