   And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,

   וַיֵּהָפֵךְvay/ye/ha/FEKHand he was changedלְעֵינֵיהֶםle/e/ne/HEMbefore their eyesוַיַּזְהִירוּvay/yaz/hi/RUand shoneפָנָיוfa/NAYVhis faceכַּשֶּׁמֶשׁkash/SHE/meshlike the sunוּבְגָדָיוu/ve/ga/DAYVand his garmentsכָּאוֹרka/ORlike the lightהִלְבִּינוּ׃hil/BI/nubecame white

   And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

   וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdנִרְאוּnir/Uappearedאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesוְאֵלִיָּסve/E/liy/YASand Eliasוְהֵםve/HEMand they wereמִדַּבְּרִיםmid/dab/be/RIMspeakingאִתּוֹ׃it/TOwith him

   And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

   Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

   עוֹדֶנּוּo/DEN/nuwhile he was stillמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspeakingוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdעֲנַן־אוֹרa/NAN-ora cloud of lightהֵצַלhe/TSALovershadowedעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdקוֹלkola voiceמִתּוֹךְmit/TOKHfrom the midst ofהֶעָנָןhe/a/NANthe cloudאֹמֵרo/MERsayingזֶה־בְּנִיze-Be/NIthis is My Sonיְדִידִיye/di/DIMy belovedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomרָצִיתִיra/tsi/TII delightבוֹvoin himאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himתִּשְׁמָעוּן׃tish/ma/UNyou shall listen

   While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּשְׁמֹעַkish/MO/awhen heardהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesוַיִּפְּלוּvay/yip/pe/LUthey fellעַל־פְּנֵיהֶםal-pe/ne/HEMon their facesוַיִּירְאוּvay/yi/re/Uand were afraidמְאֹד׃me/ODvery

   And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.

   וַיִּגַּשׁvay/yig/GASHand came nearיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיִּגַּע־בָּםvay/yig/GA-bamand touched themוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidקוּמוּKU/muariseאַל־תִּירָאוּ׃al-ti/RA/udo not fear

   And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.

8. 8

   וַיִּשְׂאוּvay/yis/Uand they lifted upעֵינֵיהֶםe/ne/HEMtheir eyesוְלֹאve/LOand notרָאוּra/Uthey sawאִישׁisha manבִּלְתִּיbil/TIexceptיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלְבַדּוֹ׃le/vad/DOalone

   And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.

   וּבְרִדְתָּםu/ve/rid/TAMand as they went downמִן־הָהָרmin-ha/HARfrom the mountainצִוָּהtsiv/VAcommandedעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלֹאlodo notתַגִּידוּtag/GI/dutellלְאִישׁle/ISHany manאֶת־דְּבַרet-de/VARthe matter ofהַמַּרְאֶהham/mar/Ethe visionעַדaduntilאִם־קָםim-kamhas risenבֶּן־הָאָדָםben-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manמֵעִםme/IMfromהַמֵּתִים׃ham/me/TIMthe dead

   And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.

    וַיִּשְׁאָלֻהוּvay/yish/a/lu/HUand asked himתַלְמִידָיוtal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמַה־זֶּהma-zewhy thenאֹמְרִיםom/RIMsayהַסּוֹפְרִיםhas/sof/RIMthe scribesאֵלִיָּסE/liy/YASEliasבּוֹאbocomeיָבוֹאya/VOmust comeבָּרִאשׁוֹנָה׃ba/ri/sho/NAfirst

    And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?

11. 11

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאָכֵןa/KHENtrulyאֵלִיָּסE/liy/YASEliasיָבֹאya/VOwill comeבָרִאשׁוֹנָהva/ri/sho/NAfirstוְהֵשִׁיבve/he/SHIVand restoreאֶת־הַכֹּל׃et-hak/KOLall things

    And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.

    אֲבָלa/VALbutאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאֵלִיָּסE/liy/YASEliasכְּבָרke/VARalreadyבָּאbahas comeוְלֹאve/LOand notהִכִּירֻהוּhik/ki/RU/huthey recognized himוַיַּעֲשׂוּ־בוֹvay/ya/a/SU-voand they did to himכִּרְצוֹנָםkir/tso/NAMas they desiredוְכֵןve/KHENand soגַּם־בֶּן־הָאָדָםgam-ben-Ha/a/DAMalso the Son of manיְעֻנֶּהye/un/NEwill sufferעַל־יָדָם׃al-ya/DAMat their hands

    But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

    אָזazthenהֵבִינוּhe/VI/nuunderstoodהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesכִּיkithatעַל־יוֹחָנָןal-Yo/cha/NANabout Johnהַמַּטְבִּילham/Mat/BILthe Baptistדִּבֶּרdib/BERhe spokeאֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMto them

    Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

14. 14

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּבוֹאָםke/vo/AMwhen they cameאֶל־הֲמוֹןel-ha/MONto the crowd ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוַיִּגַּשׁvay/yig/GASHcame nearאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאִישׁisha manוַיִּכְרַעvay/yikh/RAand kneltעַל־בִּרְכָּיוal-bir/KAYVon his kneesלְנֶגְדּוֹ׃le/neg/DObefore him

    And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,

15. 15

    וַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordרַחֵם־נָאra/CHEM-nahave mercy nowעַל־בְּנִיal-be/NIon my sonכִּי־מֻכֵּהki-muk/KEfor struck byיָרֵחַya/RE/achthe moonהוּאhuhe isוְחׇלְיוֹve/chol/YOand his sicknessרָעrais evilכִּי־פְעָמִיםki-fe/a/MIMfor timesרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyהוּאhuheנֹפֵלno/FELfallsבָּאֵשׁba/ESHinto the fireוּפְעָמִיםu/fe/a/MIMand timesרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyאֶל־תּוֹךְel-tokhinto the midst ofהַמָּיִם׃ham/MA/yimthe water

    Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatic, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.

16. 16

    וָאָבִיאva/a/VIand I broughtאֹתוֹo/TOhimאֶל־תַּלְמִידֶיךָel-tal/mi/de/KHAto your disciplesוְלֹאve/LOand notיָכְלוּya/khe/LUthey couldלִרְפֹּאlir/POhealלוֹ׃lohim

    And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.

17. 17

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהוֹיhoyOדּוֹרdorgenerationחֲסַרcha/SARlackingאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAfaithוּפְתַלְתֹּלu/fe/tal/TOLand crookedעַד־מָתַיad-ma/TAYhow longאֶהְיֶהeh/YEshall I beעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMwith youעַד־מָתַיad-ma/TAYhow longאֶשָּׂאes/SAshall I bearאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouהָבִיאוּha/VI/ubringאוֹתוֹo/TOhimאֵלַיe/LAYto meהֵנָּה׃HEN/nahere

    Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.

18. 18

    וַיִּגְעַר־בּוֹvay/yig/AR-boand rebuked himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outהַשֵּׁדhash/SHEDthe demonמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himוַיֵּרָפֵאvay/ye/ra/FEand was healedהַנַּעַרhan/NA/arthe boyמִן־הַשָּׁעָהmin-hash/sha/Afrom the hourהַהִיא׃ha/HIthat

    And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

19. 19

    וַיִּגְּשׁוּvay/yig/ge/SHUand came nearהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesאֶל־יֵשׁוּעַel-Ye/SHU/ato Jesusוְהוּאve/HUwhile he wasלְבַדּוֹle/vad/DOaloneוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweלֹאlonotיָכֹלְנוּya/khol/NUcouldלְגָרֲשׁוֹ׃le/ga/ra/SHOto cast him out

    Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?

20. 20

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofחֹסֶרCHO/serthe lack ofאֱמוּנַתְכֶםe/mu/nat/KHEMyour faithכִּיkiforאָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאִם־יֵשׁim-yeshif you haveבָּכֶםba/KHEMin youאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAfaithכְּגַרְגַּרke/gar/GARlike a grain ofהַחַרְדָּלha/char/DALmustardוַאֲמַרְתֶּםva/a/mar/TEMand you will sayאֶל־הָהָרel-ha/HARto the mountainהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisהֵעָתֵקhe/a/TEKmoveמִזֶּהmiz/ZEfrom hereשָׁמָּהSHAM/mato thereוְנֶעְתַּקve/ne/TAKand it will moveמִמְּקוֹמוֹmim/me/ko/MOfrom its placeוְאֵיןve/ENand there is notדָּבָרda/VARa thingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיִבָּצֵרyib/ba/TSERwill be impossibleמִכֶּם׃mik/KEMfor you

    And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

21. 21

    וְהַמִּיןve/ham/MINand the kindהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלֹאlonotיֵצֵאye/TSEgoes outכִּיkibutאִםimratherבִּתְפִלָּהbit/fil/LAby prayerוּבְצוֹם׃u/ve/TSOMand fasting

    Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

22. 22

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּעׇבְרָםbe/ov/RAMwhile they passed throughבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofהַגָּלִילHag/ga/LILGalileeוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusעָתִידa/TIDis aboutבֶּן־הָאָדָםben-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manלְהִמָּסֵרle/him/ma/SERto be deliveredבִּידֵיbi/DEinto the hands ofאֲנָשִׁים׃a/na/SHIMmen

    And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:

23. 23

    וַיַּהַרְגֻהוּvay/ya/har/GU/huand they will kill himוּבַיּוֹםu/vay/YOMand on the dayהַשְּׁלִישִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthirdקוֹםkomriseיָקוּםya/KUMhe will riseוַיִּתְעַצְּבוּvay/yit/ats/tse/VUand they were grievedמְאֹד׃me/ODvery

    And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.

24. 24

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּבוֹאָםke/vo/AMwhen they cameאֶל־כְּפַר־נַחוּםel-Ke/FAR-na/CHUMto Capernaumוַיִּגְּשׁוּvay/yig/ge/SHUcame nearאֶל־פֶּטְרוֹסel-Pet/ROSto Peterגַּבָּאֵיgab/ba/Ethe collectors ofמַחֲצִיתma/cha/TSITthe half ofהַשָּׁקֶלhash/SHA/kelthe shekelוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהֲלֹאha/LOdoes notיִתֵּןyit/TENgiveרַבְּכֶםrab/be/KHEMyour masterאֶת־מַחֲצִיתet-ma/cha/TSITthe half ofהַשָּׁקֶל׃hash/SHA/kelthe shekel

    And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?

25. 25

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיִתֵּןyit/TENhe givesוּבְבוֹאוֹu/ve/vo/Oand when he cameהַבַּיְתָהhab/BAY/tainto the houseקִדֵּםkid/DEManticipatedאֹתוֹo/TOhimיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלִשְׁאֹלlish/OLto askוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidמַה־דַּעְתְּךָma-da/te/KHAwhat is your opinionשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonמַלְכֵיmal/KHEthe kings ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthמִמִּיmim/MIfrom whomיִקְחוּyik/CHUtakeמֶכֶסME/khestollוּמַסu/MASand tributeמֵאֵתme/ETfromבְּנֵיהֶםbe/ne/HEMtheir sonsאוֹoorמֵאֵתme/ETfromהַזָּרִים׃haz/za/RIMthe strangers

    He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?

26. 26

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמֵאֵתme/ETfromהַזָּרִיםhaz/za/RIMthe strangersוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאִם־כֵּןim-kenif soאֵפוֹאe/FOthenהַבָּנִיםhab/ba/NIMthe sonsפְּטוּרִיםpe/tu/RIMexemptהֵמָּה׃HEM/maare

    Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.

    וְאוּלָםve/u/LAMbutלְמַעַןle/MA/ansoאֲשֶׁר־לֹא־נִהְיֶהa/SHER-lo-nih/YEthat we will not beלָהֶםla/HEMto themלְמִכְשׁוֹלle/mikh/SHOLa stumbling blockלֵךְlekhgoאֶל־הַיָּםel-hay/YAMto the seaוְהִשְׁלַכְתָּve/hish/lakh/TAand throwחַכָּהchak/KAa hookאֶל־תּוֹכוֹel-to/KHOinto itוְאֶת־הַדָּגve/ET-had/DAGand the fishהָרִאשׁוֹןha/ri/SHONthe firstאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיַעֲלֶהya/a/LEcomes upשָׂאֵהוּsa/E/hutake it upוְכַאֲשֶׁרve/kha/a/SHERand whenתִּפְתַּחtif/TACHyou openאֶת־פִּיוet-pivits mouthתִּמְצָאtim/TSAyou will findבוֹvoin itמַטְבֵּעַmat/BE/aa coinאוֹתוֹo/TOitקַחkachtakeוְשָׁקַלְתָּve/sha/kal/TAand payעַלalforיָדִיya/DImy handוְעַלve/ALand forיָדֶךָ׃ya/DE/khayour hand

    Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.
