1. 1

   וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֶל־עֵבֶרel-E/verto the other side ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the land ofהַגַּדְרִיִּם׃hag/Gad/riy/YIMthe Gadarenes

   And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

2. 2

   הוּאhuheיָצָאya/TSAwent outמִן־הׇאֳנִיָּהmin-ho/o/niy/YAfrom the boatוְהִנֵּה־אִישׁve/hin/NE-ishand behold a manאֲשֶׁר־רוּחַa/SHER-RU/achwho had a spirit ofטֻמְאָהtum/Auncleannessבּוֹboin himבָּאbacameלִקְרָאתוֹlik/ra/TOto meet himמִבֵּיןmib/BENfrom amongהַקְּבָרִים׃hak/ke/va/RIMthe tombs

   And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

   וּמוֹשָׁבוֹu/mo/sha/VOand his dwelling wasבַּקְּבָרִיםbak/ke/va/RIMamong the tombsוְגַםve/GAMand evenבַּזִּקִּיםbaz/zik/KIMwith chainsלֹא־יָכֹלlo-ya/KHOLcould notאִישׁisha manלְאָסְרוֹ׃le/a/se/RObind him

   Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

   כִּי־פְעָמִיםki-fe/a/MIMfor timesהַרְבֵּהhar/BEmanyאֲסָרוּהוּa/sa/ru/HUthey had bound himבִּכְבָלִיםbikh/va/LIMwith fettersוּבַזִּקִּיםu/vaz/zik/KIMand chainsוַיְנַתֵּקvay/nat/TEKand he snappedאֶת־הַזִּקִּיםet-haz/zik/KIMthe chainsוַיְשַׁבֵּרvay/shab/BERand brokeאֶת־הַכְּבָלִיםet-hak/ke/va/LIMthe fettersוְאִישׁve/ISHand a manלֹאlonotעָצַרa/TSARhadכֹּחַKO/achstrengthלְכָבְשׁוֹ׃le/kha/ve/SHOto subdue him

   Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

   וְהוּאve/HUand he wasתָמִידta/MIDalwaysלַיְלָהLAY/lanightוְיוֹמָםve/yo/MAMand dayבֶּהָרִיםbe/ha/RIMin the mountainsוּבַקְּבָרִיםu/vak/ke/va/RIMand in the tombsצֹעֵקtso/EKcrying outוּפֹצֵעַu/fo/TSE/aand cuttingאֶת־עַצְמוֹet-ats/MOhimselfבָּאֲבָנִים׃ba/a/va/NIMwith stones

   And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּרְאֹתוֹkir/o/TOwhen he sawאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַet-Ye/SHU/aJesusמֵרָחוֹקme/ra/CHOKfrom afarוַיָּרׇץvay/YA/rotsand he ranוַיִּשְׁתַּחוּvay/yish/TA/chuand bowed downלוֹ׃loto him

   But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

   וַיִּזְעַקvay/yiz/AKand cried outקוֹלkola voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמַה־לִיma-liwhat is to meוָלָךְva/LAKHand to youיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusבֶּן־אֵלben-elson of GodעֶלְיוֹןEl/YONMost Highהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמַשְׁבִּיעֲךָmash/bi/a/KHAadjure youבֵּאלֹהִיםbe/lo/HIMby Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹאlonotתְעַנֵּנִי׃te/an/ne/NIyou torment me

   And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

   כִּיkiforהוּאhuheאָמַרa/MARsaidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himצֵאtsecome outרוּחַRU/achspirit ofהַטֻּמְאָהhat/tum/Auncleannessמִן־הָאָדָםmin-ha/a/DAMfrom the manהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

   For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

9. 9

   וַיִּשְׁאַלvay/yish/ALand he askedאֹתוֹo/TOhimמַה־שְּׁמֶךָma-she/ME/khawhat is your nameוַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלִגְיוֹןLig/YONLegionשְׁמִיshe/MIis my nameכִּי־רַבִּיםki-rab/BIMfor manyאֲנָחְנוּ׃a/NACH/nuare we

   And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

    וַיִּתְחַנֵּןvay/yit/chan/NENand he pleadedאֵלָיוe/LAYVwith himמְאֹדme/ODveryלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInot toשַׁלְּחָםshal/le/CHAMsend themאֶל־מִחוּץel-mi/CHUTSoutsideלָאָרֶץ׃la/A/retsthe land

    And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

11. 11

    וְעֵדֶרve/E/derand a herd ofחֲזִירִיםcha/zi/RIMpigsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyהָיָהha/YAwasשָׁםshamthereרֹעֶהro/Efeedingבְּמוֹרַדbe/mo/RADon the slope ofהֶהָרִים׃he/ha/RIMthe mountains

    Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

12. 12

    וַיִּתְחַנֲנוּ־לוֹvay/yit/cha/na/NU-loand pleaded with himכׇל־הַשֵּׁדִיםkhol-hash/she/DIMall the demonsלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingשַׁלְּחֵנוּshal/le/che/NUsend usאֶל־הַחֲזִירִיםel-ha/cha/zi/RIMinto the pigsוְנָבֹאָהve/na/VO/aand let us enterאֶל־תּוֹכָם׃el-to/KHAMinto them

    And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

    וַיַּנַּחvay/yan/NACHand he letלָהֶםla/HEMthemוַיֵּצְאוּvay/yets/Uand went outרוּחוֹתru/CHOTthe spirits ofהַטֻּמְאָהhat/tum/Auncleannessוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand enteredבַּחֲזִירִיםba/cha/zi/RIMthe pigsוַיִּשְׂתָּעֵרvay/yis/ta/ERand rushedהָעֵדֶרha/E/derthe herdמִן־הַמּוֹרָדmin-ham/mo/RADdown the slopeאֶל־הַיָּםel-hay/YAMinto the seaוְהֵםve/HEMand they wereכְּאַלְפַּיִםke/al/PA/yimabout two thousandבְּמִסְפָּרbe/mis/PARin numberוַיְטֻבְּעוּvay/tub/be/Uand were drownedבַּיָּם׃bay/YAMin the sea

    And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

14. 14

    וַיָּנוּסוּvay/ya/NU/suand fledרֹעֵיro/Ethe herdsmen ofהַחֲזִירִיםha/cha/zi/RIMthe pigsוַיַּגִּידוּvay/yag/GI/duand toldאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe matterבָּעִירba/IRin the cityוּבַשָּׂדוֹתu/vas/sa/DOTand in the fieldsוַיֵּצְאוּvay/yets/Uand they went outלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeאֶת־אֲשֶׁר־נִהְיְתָה׃et-a/SHER-nih/ye/TAwhat had happened

    And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

15. 15

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֶל־יֵשׁוּעַel-Ye/SHU/ato Jesusוַיִּרְאוּvay/yir/Uand sawאֶת־אֲחוּזet-a/CHUZthe one seized byהַשֵּׁדִיםhash/she/DIMthe demonsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho hadהַלִּגְיוֹןhal/lig/YONthe legionבּוֹboin himוְהוּאve/HUand heיוֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVsittingמְלֻבָּשׁme/lub/BASHclothedבְּגָדִיםbe/ga/DIMin garmentsוְטוֹב־שֵׂכֶלve/TOV-SE/kheland of good senseוַיִּירָאוּ׃vay/yi/RA/uand they were afraid

    And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

16. 16

    וַיַּגִּידוּvay/yag/GI/duand toldלָהֶםla/HEMthemהָרֹאִיםha/ro/IMthose who sawאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatנַעֲשָׂהna/a/SAwas doneלַאֲחוּזla/a/CHUZto the one seized byהַשֵּׁדִיםhash/she/DIMthe demonsוְאֶת־דְּבַרve/ET-de/VARand the matter ofהַחֲזִירִים׃ha/cha/zi/RIMthe pigs

    And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

17. 17

    וַיִּתְחַנֲנוּvay/yit/cha/na/NUand they pleadedלוֹlowith himלָסוּרla/SURto departמִגְּבוּלֵיהֶם׃mig/ge/vu/le/HEMfrom their borders

    And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.

18. 18

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּרִדְתּוֹbe/rid/TOas he went downאֶל־הׇאֳנִיָּהel-ho/o/niy/YAto the boatוַיִּתְחַנֵּןvay/yit/chan/NENpleadedאֵלָיוe/LAYVwith himהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהָיָהha/YAhad beenאֲחוּזa/CHUZseized byשֵׁדִיםshe/DIMdemonsלְתִתּוֹle/tit/TOto let himלָשֶׁבֶתla/SHE/vetstayעִמּוֹ׃im/MOwith him

    And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

19. 19

    וְלֹאve/LOand notהִנִּיחַhin/NI/achhe letלוֹlohimוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himשׁוּבshuvreturnלְבֵיתְךָle/ve/te/KHAto your houseאֶל־מִשְׁפַּחְתֶּךָel-mish/pach/te/KHAto your familyוְהַגֵּדve/hag/GEDand tellלָהֶםla/HEMthemאֶת־הַגְּדֹלוֹתet-hag/ge/do/LOTthe great thingsאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat has doneלְךָle/KHAfor youהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordוַיְחֻנֶּךָּ׃vay/chun/nek/KAand has been gracious to you

    Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

20. 20

    וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he wentוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand proclaimedבְּעֶשֶׂרbe/E/serin the tenהֶעָרִיםhe/a/RIMcitiesאֶת־הַגְּדוֹלוֹתet-hag/ge/do/LOTthe great thingsאֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂהa/SHER-a/SAthat had doneלוֹlofor himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיִּתְמְהוּvay/yit/me/HUand marveledכֻּלָּם׃kul/LAMall of them

    And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

21. 21

    וַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand returnedיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלַעֲבֹרla/a/VORto crossבׇּאֳנִיָּהbo/o/niy/YAin the boatאֶל־עֵבֶרel-E/verto the other side ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaוַיִּקָּהֵלvay/yik/ka/HELand gatheredאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהָמוֹןha/MONa crowdרָבravgreatוְהוּאve/HUand he wasעַל־שְׂפַתal-se/FATon the shore ofהַיָּם׃hay/YAMthe sea

    And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.

22. 22

    וְהִנֵּה־בָאve/hin/NE-vaand behold cameאֶחָדe/CHADoneמֵרָאשֵׁיme/ra/SHEof the heads ofהַכְּנֵסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameיָאִירYa/IRJairusוַיַּרְאvay/YARand he sawאֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיִּפֹּלvay/yip/POLand fellלְרַגְלָיו׃le/rag/LAYVat his feet

    And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,

23. 23

    וַיִּתְחַנֵּןvay/yit/chan/NENand pleadedאֵלָיוe/LAYVwith himמְאֹדme/ODmuchלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingבִּתִּיbit/TImy daughterהַקְּטַנָּהhak/ke/tan/NAlittleחָלְתָהcha/le/TAis sickעַד־לָמוּתad-la/MUTto deathאָנָּאan/NApleaseבוֹא־נָאvo-nacome nowוְשִׂיםve/SIMand putיָדֶיךָya/DE/khayour handsעָלֶיהָa/LE/haon herלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתִּוָּשַׁעtiv/va/SHAshe may be savedוְתִחְיֶה׃ve/tich/YEand live

    And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

24. 24

    וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he wentאִתּוֹit/TOwith himוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand wentאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVafter himהָמוֹןha/MONa crowdרָבravgreatוַיִּדְחָקֻהוּ׃vay/yid/cha/ku/HUand pressed him

    And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

25. 25

    וְאִשָּׁהve/ish/SHAand a womanהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasבְּזוֹבbe/ZOVin a flow ofדָּמֶיהָda/ME/haher bloodשְׁתֵּים־עֶשְׂרֵהshtem-es/REtwelveשָׁנָה׃sha/NAyears

    And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

26. 26

    וְהִיאve/HIand sheנַעֲנָהna/a/NAhad sufferedהַרְבֵּהhar/BEmuchתַּחַתTA/chatunderיְדֵיye/DEthe hands ofרֹפְאִיםrof/IMphysiciansרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוְהוֹצִיאָהve/ho/TSI/aand had spentאֶת־כֹּלet-kolallאֲשֶׁר־לָהּa/SHER-lathat she hadוְלֹאve/LOand notלְהוֹעִילle/ho/ILto benefitכִּיkibutאִםimratherכָּבְדָהka/ve/DAgrew heavyמַחֲלָתָהּma/cha/la/TAher sicknessמְאֹד׃me/ODvery

    And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

27. 27

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּשָׁמְעָהּke/sha/me/Awhen she heardאֶת־שֵׁמַעet-SHE/mathe report ofיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַתָּבוֹאvat/ta/VOand she cameבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofהֲמוֹןha/MONthe crowd ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleמֵאַחֲרָיוme/a/cha/RAYVfrom behind himוַתִּגַּעvat/tig/GAand touchedבְּבִגְדוֹ׃be/vig/DOhis garment

    When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

28. 28

    כִּיkiforאָמְרָהa/me/RAshe saidאַךְakhonlyאֶגַּעeg/GAI touchבִּבְגָדָיוbiv/ga/DAYVhis garmentsוְאִוָּשֵׁעָה׃ve/iv/va/SHE/aand I will be saved

    For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

29. 29

    וַיִּיבַשׁvay/yi/VASHand dried upמְקוֹרme/KORthe fountain ofדָּמֶיהָda/ME/haher bloodפִּתְאֹםpit/OMsuddenlyוַתָּבֶןvat/TA/venand she perceivedבִּבְשָׂרָהּbiv/sa/RAin her bodyכִּיkithatנִרְפָּאnir/PAshe was healedנִגְעָהּ׃nig/Aher affliction

    And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

30. 30

    וּבְרֶגַעu/ve/RE/gaand in a momentיָדַעya/DAknewיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusבְּנַפְשׁוֹbe/naf/SHOin his soulכִּיkithatגְּבוּרָהge/vu/RApowerיָצְאָהya/tse/Ahad gone outמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himוַיִּפֶןvay/YI/fenand he turnedבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמִיmiwhoנָגַעna/GAtouchedבִּבְגָדָי׃biv/ga/DAYmy garments

    And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

31. 31

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himתַּלְמִידָיוtal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesהִנְּךָhin/ne/KHAbehold youרֹאֶהro/Eseeאֶת־הֶהָמוֹןet-he/ha/MONthe crowdדּוֹחֵקdo/CHEKpressingאֹתְךָot/KHAyouוְאָמַרְתָּve/a/mar/TAand you sayמִי־נָגַעmi-na/GAwho touchedבִּי׃bime

    And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

32. 32

    וַיַּבֵּטvay/yab/BETand he lookedסָבִיבsa/VIVaroundלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERher whoעָשְׂתָהa/se/TAhad doneזֹּאת׃zotthis

    And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

33. 33

    וְהָאִשָּׁהve/ha/ish/SHAand the womanיָרְאָהya/re/Awas afraidוְחָרְדָהve/cha/re/DAand trembledכִּיkiforיָדְעָהya/de/Ashe knewאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatנַעֲשָׂהna/a/SAwas doneלָהּlato herוַתָּבֹאvat/ta/VOand cameוַתִּפֹּלvat/tip/POLand fellלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himוַתַּגֶּד־לוֹvat/TAG/ged-loand told himאֵת־כׇּלet-kolallהָאֱמֶת׃ha/e/METthe truth

    But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

34. 34

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herבִּתִּיbit/TImy daughterאֱמוּנָתֵךְe/mu/na/TEKHyour faithהוֹשִׁיעָהho/SHI/ahas savedלָּךְlakhyouלְכִיle/KHIgoלְשָׁלוֹםle/sha/LOMin peaceוְחָיִיתve/cha/YITand liveמִנִּגְעֵךְ׃min/nig/EKHfrom your affliction

    And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

35. 35

    עוֹדֶנּוּo/DEN/nuwhile he was stillמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspeakingוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenבָּאִיםba/IMcomingמִבֵּית־רֹאשׁmib/BET-roshfrom the house of the head ofהַכְּנֵסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand saidבִּתְּךָbit/te/KHAyour daughterמֵתָהME/tais deadלָמָּהLAM/mawhyתַטְרִיחַ־עוֹדtat/RI/ach-oddo you trouble anymoreאֶת־הַמּוֹרֶה׃et-ham/mo/REthe teacher

    While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

36. 36

    וְכִשְׁמֹעַve/khish/MO/aand when heardיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe wordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדִּבֵּרוּdib/BE/ruthey spokeוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־רֹאשׁel-roshto the head ofהַכְּנֵסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyאַל־תִּירָאal-ti/RAdo not fearרַקrakonlyהַאֲמִינָה׃ha/a/mi/NAbelieve

    As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

    וְלֹאve/LOand notנָתַןna/TANhe letאִישׁisha manלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetgoאִתּוֹit/TOwith himזוּלָתִיzu/la/TIexceptפֶטְרוֹסFet/ROSPeterוְיַעֲקֹבve/Ya/a/KOVand Jamesוְיוֹחָנָןve/Yo/cha/NANand Johnאֲחִיa/CHIthe brother ofיַעֲקֹב׃Ya/a/KOVJames

    And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

38. 38

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameבֵּית־רֹאשׁbet-roshto the house of the head ofהַכְּנֵסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyוַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawמְהוּמַתme/hu/MATthe tumult ofהַבֹּכִיםhab/bo/KHIMthose weepingוְהַמְיַלֲלִיםve/ham/ya/la/LIMand wailingבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith a voiceגָּדוֹל׃ga/DOLloud

    And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

39. 39

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he came inוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themמַה־תֶּהֱמוּma-te/he/MUwhy are you in tumultוְתִבְכּוּve/tiv/KUand weepהַנַּעֲרָהhan/na/a/RAthe girlלֹאlonotמֵתָהME/tais deadאַךְ־יְשֵׁנָהakh-ye/she/NAbut sleepingהִיא׃hiis she

    And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

40. 40

    וַיִּשְׂחֲקוּvay/yis/cha/KUand they laughedלוֹloat himוְהוּאve/HUand heהוֹצִיאho/TSIput outאֶת־כֻּלָּםet-kul/LAMall of themוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאֶת־אֲבִיet-a/VIthe father ofהַנַּעֲרָהhan/na/a/RAthe girlוְאֶת־אִמָּהּve/ET-im/MAand her motherוְהָאֲנָשִׁיםve/ha/a/na/SHIMand the menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereאִתּוֹit/TOwith himוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand enteredאֶל־הַחֶדֶרel-ha/CHE/derinto the roomאֲשֶׁר־שָׁםa/SHER-shamwhereשֹׁכֶבֶתsho/KHE/vetlayהַנַּעֲרָה׃han/na/a/RAthe girl

    And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

    וַיֹּאחֶזvay/YO/chezand he took holdבְּיַדbe/YADof the hand ofהַנַּעֲרָהhan/na/a/RAthe girlוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herטַלְיְתָאTal/ye/TATalithaקוּמִיKU/micumiפֵּרוּשׁוֹpe/ru/SHOits meaningיַלְדָּהyal/DAgirlאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָךְlakhto youקוּמִיKU/miariseנָא׃nanow

    And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.

    וּמִיָּדu/miy/YADand immediatelyקָמָהKA/maroseהַיַּלְדָּהhay/yal/DAthe girlוַתִּתְהַלֵּךְvat/tit/hal/LEKHand walkedוְהִיאve/HIand she wasבַּת־שְׁתֵּים־עֶשְׂרֵהbat-shtem-es/REtwelveשָׁנָהsha/NAyears oldוַיָּשֹׁמּוּvay/ya/SHOM/muand they were astonishedשַׁמָּהsham/MAwith astonishmentגְדוֹלָה׃ge/do/LAgreat

    And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

43. 43

    וַיַּזְהֵרvay/yaz/HERand he warnedאוֹתָםo/TAMthemמְאֹדme/ODveryלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאַל־יִוָּדַעal-yiv/va/DAlet not be knownהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe matterלְאִישׁle/ISHto any manוַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commandedלָתֵתla/TETto giveלָהּlaherלֶאֱכוֹל׃le/e/KHOLto eat

    And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
