   And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.

   וְלַמּוֹעֵדve/lam/mo/EDand at the appointed timeשָׁלַחsha/LACHhe sentעֶבֶדE/veda servantאֶל־הַכֹּרְמִיםel-hak/kor/MIMto the vinedressersלָקַחַתla/KA/chatto takeמֵאֵתme/ETfromהַכֹּרְמִיםhak/kor/MIMthe vinedressersמִפְּרִיmip/pe/RIof the fruit ofהַכָּרֶם׃hak/KA/remthe vineyard

   And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.

   וַיֹּאחֲזֻהוּvay/yo/cha/zu/HUand they seized himוַיַּכֻּהוּvay/yak/KU/huand struck himוַיְשַׁלְּחֻהוּvay/shal/le/chu/HUand sent him awayרֵיקָם׃re/KAMempty

   And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.

   וַיֹּסֶףvay/YO/sefand againלִשְׁלֹחַlish/LO/achhe sentאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themעֶבֶדE/veda servantאַחֵרa/CHERanotherוְאֹתוֹve/o/TOand himסָקְלוּsa/ke/LUthey stonedבָאֲבָנִיםva/a/va/NIMwith stonesוּמָחֲצוּu/ma/cha/TSUand they struckרֹאשׁוֹro/SHOhis headוַיְשַׁלְּחֻהוּvay/shal/le/chu/HUand sent him awayבְּחֶרְפָּה׃be/cher/PAin disgrace

   And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.

   וַיֹּסֶףvay/YO/sefand againוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand he sentאַחֵרa/CHERanotherוְגַם־אֹתוֹve/GAM-o/TOand him alsoהָרָגוּha/RA/guthey killedוְכֵןve/KHENand soעָשׂוּa/SUthey didלְרַבִּיםle/rab/BIMto manyאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMothersמֵהֶםme/HEMof themהִכּוּhik/KUthey struckוּמֵהֶםu/me/HEMand of themהָרָגוּ׃ha/RA/guthey killed

   And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.

   וְלוֹve/LOand he hadעוֹדodstillבֵּןbena sonיָחִידya/CHIDonlyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomאֲהֵבוֹa/he/VOhe lovedוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand he sentגַּם־אֹתוֹgam-o/TOhim alsoאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themבָּאַחֲרֹנָהba/a/cha/ro/NAat lastכִּי־אָמַרki-a/MARfor he saidמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbeforeבְנִיve/NImy sonיָגוּרוּ׃ya/GU/ruthey will be in awe

   Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

   וְהַכֹּרְמִיםve/hak/kor/MIMand the vinedressersהָהֵםha/HEMthoseאָמְרוּa/me/RUsaidאִישׁisha manאֶל־רֵעֵהוּel-re/E/huto his neighborהִנֵּה־זֶהhin/NE-zebehold thisהוּאhuisהַיּוֹרֵשׁhay/yo/RESHthe heirלְכוּle/KHUcomeוְנַהַרְגֵהוּve/na/har/GE/hulet us kill himוְהַיְרֻשָּׁהve/hay/rush/SHAand the inheritanceתִּהְיֶהtih/YEwill beלָּנוּ׃LA/nuours

   But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.

   וַיֹּאחֲזֻהוּvay/yo/cha/zu/HUand they seized himוַיַּהַרְגוּvay/ya/har/GUand killedאוֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיַּשְׁלִיכֻהוּvay/yash/li/khu/HUand threw himאֶל־מִחוּץel-mi/CHUTSoutsideלַכָּרֶם׃lak/KA/remthe vineyard

   And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.

9. 9

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowמַה־יַּעֲשֶׂהma-ya/a/SEwhat will doבַּעַלBA/althe master ofהַכָּרֶםhak/KA/remthe vineyardיָבוֹאya/VOcomeוִיאַבֵּדvi/ab/BEDand destroyאֶת־הַכֹּרְמִיםet-hak/kor/MIMthe vinedressersוְנָתַןve/na/TANand giveאֶת־הַכֶּרֶםet-hak/KE/remthe vineyardלַאֲחֵרִים׃la/a/che/RIMto others

   What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.

    הֲלֹאha/LOhave notקְרָאתֶםke/ra/TEMyou readאֶת־הַכָּתוּבet-hak/ka/TUVthe scriptureהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֶבֶןE/vena stoneמָאֲסוּma/a/SUrejectedהַבּוֹנִיםhab/bo/NIMthe buildersהָיְתָהha/ye/TAhas becomeלְרֹאשׁle/ROSHthe head ofפִּנָּה׃pin/NAthe corner

    And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:

    מֵאֵתme/ETfromיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasזֹּאתzotthisהִיאhiit isנִפְלָאתnif/LATmarvelousבְּעֵינֵינוּ׃be/e/NE/nuin our eyes

    This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

12. 12

    וַיְבַקְשׁוּvay/vak/SHUand they soughtלְתָפְשׂוֹle/ta/fe/SOto seize himוַיִּירְאוּvay/yi/re/Uand they fearedמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleיַעַןYA/anbecauseאֲשֶׁר־הֵבִינוּa/SHER-he/VI/nuthey understoodכִּיkithatעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMabout themדִּבֶּרdib/BERhe had spokenאֶת־הַמָּשָׁלet-ham/ma/SHALthe parableהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוַיַּנִּיחֻהוּvay/yan/ni/CHU/huand they left himוַיֵּלֵכוּ׃vay/ye/LE/khuand went

    And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.

    וַיִּשְׁלְחוּvay/yish/le/CHUand they sentאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenמִן־הַפְּרוּשִׁיםmin-Hap/pe/ru/SHIMof the Phariseesוּמֵאַנְשֵׁיu/me/an/SHEand of the men ofהוֹרְדוֹסHor/DOSHerodלִתְפֹּשׂlit/POSto seizeאֹתוֹo/TOhimבִּדְבָרָיו׃bid/va/RAYVin his words

    And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himרַבִּיrab/BIrabbiיָדַעְנוּya/DA/nuwe knowכִּי־אִישׁki-ishthat a man ofאֱמֶתe/METtruthאַתָּהat/TAyou areוְלֹא־תָגוּרve/LO-ta/GURand you do not fearמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbeforeאִישׁisha manכִּיkiforלֹאlonotתִּשָּׂאtis/SAyou liftפְּנֵיpe/NEthe face ofאִישׁisha manוּבֶאֱמֶתu/ve/e/METand in truthמוֹרֶהmo/REteachאַתָּהat/TAyouאֶת־דֶּרֶךְet-DE/rekhthe way ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodהֲמֻתָּרha/mut/TARis it lawfulלָתֵתla/TETto giveמַסmastaxאֶל־קֵיסָרel-Ke/SARto Caesarאִם־לֹא׃im-loor not

    And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Cæsar, or not?

    הֲנִתֵּןha/nit/TENshall we giveאִם־לֹאim-loor notנִתֵּןnit/TENshall we giveוְהוּאve/HUand heיָדַעya/DAknewאֶת־חֲנֻפָּתָםet-cha/nup/pa/TAMtheir hypocrisyוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themמַה־תְּנַסּוּנִיma-te/nas/su/NIwhy do you test meהָבִיאוּha/VI/ubringאֵלַיe/LAYmeדִּינָרdi/NARa denariusוְאֶרְאֶה׃ve/er/Eand I will see

    Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.

16. 16

    וַיָּבִיאוּvay/ya/VI/uand they brought itוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themהַצּוּרָהhats/tsu/RAthe imageהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוְהַמִּכְתָּבve/ham/mikh/TAVand the inscriptionאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat areעָלָיוa/LAYVon itשֶׁל־מִיshel-miwhoseהֵםhemare theyוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himשֶׁל־קֵיסָר׃Shel-ke/SARCaesar's

    And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Cæsar's.

17. 17

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhat isלְקֵיסָרLe/ke/SARCaesar'sתְּנוּte/NUgiveלְקֵיסָרle/Ke/SARto Caesarוְאֵתve/ETandאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhat isלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMGod'sתְּנוּte/NUgiveלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godוַיִּתְמְהוּvay/yit/me/HUand they marveledעָלָיו׃a/LAYVat him

    And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Cæsar the things that are Cæsar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.

18. 18

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand cameאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמִן־הַצַּדּוּקִיםmin-Hats/tsad/du/KIMsome of the Sadduceesהָאֹמְרִיםha/om/RIMwho sayאֵיןenthere is notתְּחִיַּתte/chiy/YATa resurrection ofהַמֵּתִיםham/me/TIMthe deadוַיִּשְׁאָלֻהוּvay/yish/a/lu/HUand they asked himלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,

    רַבִּיrab/BIrabbiמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesכָּתַבka/TAVwroteלָנוּLA/nuto usכִּיkithatיָמוּתya/MUTdiesאֲחִי־אִישׁa/CHI-isha man's brotherוְהִנִּיחַve/hin/NI/achand leavesאִשָּׁהish/SHAa wifeוּבָנִיםu/va/NIMand childrenאֵיןenthere are notלוֹloto himוְלָקַחve/la/KACHand shall takeאָחִיוa/CHIVhis brotherאֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹet-ish/TOhis wifeוְהֵקִיםve/he/KIMand raise upזֶרַעZE/raseedלְאָחִיו׃le/a/CHIVto his brother

    Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

20. 20

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdשִׁבְעָהshiv/Asevenאַחִיםa/CHIMbrothersוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookהָרִאשׁוֹןha/ri/SHONthe firstאִשָּׁהish/SHAa wifeוַיָּמׇתvay/YA/motand diedוְלֹא־הִשְׁאִירve/LO-hish/IRand did not leaveאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVbehind himזָרַע׃ZA/raseed

    Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.

21. 21

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאֹתָהּo/TAherהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NIthe secondוַיָּמׇתvay/YA/motand diedוְלֹא־הִנִּיחַve/LO-hin/NI/achand did not leaveזָרַעZA/raany seedוְכֵןve/KHENand soגַּםgamalsoהַשְּׁלִישִׁי׃hash/she/li/SHIthe third

    And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.

22. 22

    וַיִּקָּחוּהָvay/yik/ka/chu/HAand took herכׇּל־הַשִּׁבְעָהkol-hash/shiv/Athe sevenוְלֹא־הִשְׁאִירוּve/LO-hish/I/ruand did not leaveאַחֲרֵיהֶםa/cha/re/HEMbehind themזָרַעZA/raseedוְאַחֲרֹנָהve/a/cha/ro/NAand lastלְכֻלָּםle/khul/LAMof all of themמֵתָהME/tadiedגַּםgamalsoהָאִשָּׁה׃ha/ish/SHAthe woman

    And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.

23. 23

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבִּתְחִיַּתbit/chiy/YATin the resurrection ofהַמֵּתִיםham/me/TIMthe deadכְּשֶׁיָּקוּמוּke/shey/ya/ku/MUwhen they riseלְמִיle/MIto whomמֵהֶםme/HEMof themתִּהְיֶהtih/YEwill she beלְאִשָּׁהle/ish/SHAa wifeכִּיkiforלַשִּׁבְעָהlash/shiv/Ato the sevenהָיְתָהha/ye/TAshe wasלְאִשָּׁה׃le/ish/SHAa wife

    In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.

24. 24

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themהֲלֹאha/LOis it notטֹעִיםto/IMerringאַתֶּםat/TEMare youבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERbecauseלֹאlonotיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMyou knowאֶת־הַכְּתוּבִיםet-hak/ke/tu/VIMthe scripturesוְלֹאve/LOand notאֶת־גְּבוּרַתet-ge/vu/RATthe power ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

25. 25

    כִּיkiforבְּעֵתbe/ETat the timeקוּמָםku/MAMthey riseמִן־הַמֵּתִיםmin-ham/me/TIMfrom the deadלֹאlonotיִשְׂאוּyis/Uthey marryנָשִׁיםna/SHIMwivesוְלֹאve/LOand notתִּנָּשֶׂאנָהtin/na/SE/naare given in marriageכִּי־יִהְיוּki-yih/YUbut they will beכְּמַלְאֲכֵיke/mal/a/KHElike the angels ofהַשָּׁמָיִם׃hash/sha/MA/yimheaven

    For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

    וְעַל־דְּבַרve/AL-de/VARand concerningהַמֵּתִיםham/me/TIMthe deadשֶׁיָּקוּמוּshey/ya/KU/muthat they riseהֲלֹאha/LOhave you notקְרָאתֶםke/ra/TEMreadבְּסֵפֶרbe/SE/ferin the book ofמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesבַּסְּנֶהbas/se/NEat the bushאֶת־אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּרet-a/SHER-dib/BERwhat spokeאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamוֵאלֹהֵיve/lo/HEand the God ofיִצְחָקYits/CHAKIsaacוֵאלֹהֵיve/lo/HEand the God ofיַעֲקֹב׃Ya/a/KOVJacob

    And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

27. 27

    הָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuis notאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofהַמֵּתִיםham/me/TIMthe deadכִּיkibutאִם־אֱלֹהֵיim-e/lo/HErather the God ofהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMthe livingלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeטוֹעִיםto/IMerrאַתֶּםat/TEMyouהַרְבֵּה׃har/BEgreatly

    He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

    וְאֶחָדve/e/CHADand oneמִן־הַסּוֹפְרִיםmin-has/sof/RIMof the scribesשָׁמַעsha/MAheardאֹתָםo/TAMthemמִתְוַכְּחִיםmit/vak/ke/CHIMdisputingוַיִּקְרַבvay/yik/RAVand came nearאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themוַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawכִּיkithatהֵיטֵבhe/TEVwellהֱשִׁיבָםhe/shi/VAMhe answered themוַיִּשְׁאָלֵהוּvay/yish/a/LE/huand asked himמַה־הִיאma-hiwhich isהָרִאשֹׁנָהha/ri/sho/NAthe firstלְכׇל־הַמִּצְוֹת׃le/KHOL-ham/mits/VOTof all the commandments

    And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

29. 29

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredאֹתוֹo/TOhimיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהָרִאשֹׁנָהha/ri/sho/NAthe firstלְכׇל־הַמִּצְוֹתle/KHOL-ham/mits/VOTof all the commandmentsשְׁמַעshe/MAhearיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELO Israelהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordאֶחָד׃e/CHADis one

    And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

30. 30

    וְאָהַבְתָּve/a/hav/TAand you shall loveאֵת־הָאָדוֹןet-ha/a/DONthe Lordאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godבְּכׇל־לְבָבְךָbe/KHOL-le/va/ve/KHAwith all your heartוּבְכׇל־נַפְשְׁךָu/ve/KHOL-naf/she/KHAand with all your soulוּבְכׇל־מַדָּעֲךָu/ve/KHOL-mad/da/a/KHAand with all your mindוּבְכׇל־מְאֹדֶךָu/ve/KHOL-me/o/DE/khaand with all your mightזֹאתzotthisהִיאhiisהַמִּצְוָהham/mits/VAthe commandmentהָרִאשֹׁנָה׃ha/ri/sho/NAfirst

    And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31. 31

    וְהַשֵּׁנִיתve/hash/she/NITand the secondהַדֹּמָהhad/do/MAlikeלָהּlaitוְאָהַבְתָּve/a/hav/TAand you shall loveלְרֵעֲךָle/re/a/KHAyour neighborכָּמוֹךָka/MO/khaas yourselfוְאֵיןve/ENand there is notמִצְוָהmits/VAa commandmentגְּדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreaterמֵאֵלֶּה׃me/EL/lethan these

    And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

32. 32

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהַסּוֹפֵרhas/so/FERthe scribeאׇמְנָםom/NAMtrulyרַבִּיrab/BIrabbiיָפֶהya/FEwellדִבַּרְתָּdib/BAR/tayou have spokenכִּיkiforאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֶחָדe/CHADoneהוּאhuHe isוְאֵיןve/ENand there is notעוֹדodanotherמִלְבַדּוֹ׃mil/vad/DObesides Him

    And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

33. 33

    וּלְאַהֲבָהu/le/a/ha/VAand to loveאֹתוֹo/TOHimבְּכׇל־לֵבָבbe/KHOL-le/VAVwith all the heartוּבְכׇל־מַדָּעu/ve/KHOL-mad/DAand with all the understandingוּבְכׇל־נֶפֶשׁu/ve/KHOL-NE/feshand with all the soulוּבְכׇל־מְאֹדu/ve/KHOL-me/ODand with all the mightוּלְאַהֲבָהu/le/a/ha/VAand to loveאֶת־רֵעֵהוּet-re/E/huhis neighborכְּנַפְשׁוֹke/naf/SHOas himselfגְּדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreaterהִיאhiis itמִכׇּל־עֹלוֹתmik/KOL-o/LOTthan all burnt offeringsוּזְבָחִים׃u/ze/va/CHIMand sacrifices

    And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

34. 34

    And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

    וְיֵשׁוּעַve/Ye/SHU/aand Jesusמְלַמֵּדme/lam/MEDteachingבַּמִּקְדָּשׁbam/mik/DASHin the templeוַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאֵיךְekhhowיֹאמְרוּyo/me/RUsayהַסּוֹפְרִיםhas/sof/RIMthe scribesכִּיkithatהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahבֶּן־דָּוִדben-Da/VIDthe son of Davidהוּא׃huis

    And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David?

36. 36

    כִּיkiforדָוִדDa/VIDDavidבְּעַצְמוֹbe/ats/MOhimselfאָמַרa/MARsayבְּרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁbe/RU/ach-hak/KO/deshwith the Holy Spiritנְאֻםne/UMthe declaration ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDלַאדֹנִיla/do/NIto my Lordשֵׁבshevsitלִימִינִיli/mi/NIat My right handעַד־אָשִׁיתad-a/SHITuntil I makeאֹיְבֶיךָoy/VE/khayour enemiesהֲדֹםha/DOMa footstoolלְרַגְלֶיךָ׃le/rag/LE/khafor your feet

    For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

37. 37

    הִנֵּה־דָוִדhin/NE-Da/VIDbehold Davidבְּעַצְמוֹbe/ats/MOhimselfקֹרֵא־לוֹko/RE-localls himאָדוֹןa/DONLordוְאֵיךְve/EKHand howהוּאhuis heבְנוֹve/NOhis sonוַיֶּאֱהַבvay/ye/e/HAVand lovedרֹבrovmost ofהָעָםha/AMpeopleלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ato hearאֹתוֹ׃o/TOhim

    David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.

38. 38

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themבְּלַמְּדוֹbe/lam/me/DOas he taughtאֹתָםo/TAMthemהִשָּׁמְרוּhish/sha/me/RUbewareמִן־הַסּוֹפְרִיםmin-has/sof/RIMof the scribesהָאֹהֲבִיםha/o/ha/VIMwho loveלְהִתְהַלֵּךְle/hit/hal/LEKHto walkעֲטוּפֵיa/tu/FEwrapped inטַלִּיתtal/LITrobesוְשֶׁיִּשְׁאֲלוּve/shey/yish/a/LUand that they askבִשְׁלוֹמָםvish/lo/MAMof their peaceבַּשְּׁוָקִים׃bash/she/va/KIMin the markets

    And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,

39. 39

    וְלָשֶׁבֶתve/la/SHE/vetand to sitרִאשֹׁנִיםri/sho/NIMfirstבְּבָתֵּיbe/vat/TEin the houses ofכְנֵסֶתkhe/NE/setassemblyוּלְהָסֵבu/le/ha/SEVand to reclineרִאשֹׁנִיםri/sho/NIMfirstבַּסְּעוּדוֹת׃bas/se/u/DOTat the meals

    And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:

40. 40

    הַבֹּלְעִיםhab/bol/IMwho swallowאֶת־בָּתֵּיet-bat/TEthe houses ofהָאַלְמָנוֹתha/al/ma/NOTthe widowsוּמַאֲרִיכִיםu/ma/a/ri/KHIMand lengthenבַּתְּפִלָּהbat/te/fil/LAin prayerלְמַרְאֵהle/mar/Efor the sight ofעֵינָיִםe/NA/yimeyesהֵמָּהHEM/matheyמִשְׁפָּטmish/PATa judgmentגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatיֶתֶרYE/termoreמְאֹדme/ODveryיִשָּׁפֵטוּ׃yish/sha/fe/TUwill be judged

    Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.

41. 41

    וְיֵשׁוּעַve/Ye/SHU/aand Jesusיָשַׁבya/SHAVsatמִמּוּלmim/MULoppositeאֲרוֹןa/RONthe chest ofהָאוֹצָרha/o/TSARthe treasuryוְהוּאve/HUand heרֹאֶהro/Esawאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleמְשִׂימִיםme/si/MIMputtingמָעוֹתma/OTcoinsבַּאֲרוֹןba/a/RONinto the chest ofהָאוֹצָרha/o/TSARthe treasuryוַעֲשִׁירִיםva/a/shi/RIMand rich menרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyנָתְנוּna/te/NUgaveהַרְבֵּה׃har/BEmuch

    And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.

42. 42

    וַתָּבֹאvat/ta/VOand cameאַלְמָנָהal/ma/NAa widowעֲנִיָּהa/niy/YApoorוַתִּתֵּןvat/tit/TENand she gaveשְׁתֵּיshtetwoפְרוּטוֹתfe/ru/TOTmitesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהֵןhenareרֶבַעRE/vaa quarter ofאִסָּר׃is/SARa farthing

    And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.

43. 43

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand he calledאֶל־תַּלְמִידָיוel-tal/mi/DAYVto his disciplesוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכִּיkithatהָאַלְמָנָהha/al/ma/NAthe widowהָעֲנִיָּהha/a/niy/YApoorהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisנָתְנָהna/te/NAhas givenיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreמִכׇּל־הַנֹּתְנִיםmik/KOL-han/not/NIMthan all who gaveאֶל־אֲרוֹןel-a/RONinto the chest ofהָאוֹצָר׃ha/o/TSARthe treasury

    And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

44. 44

    כִּיkiforכֻלָּםkhul/LAMall of themנָתְנוּna/te/NUgaveמִיִּתְרָםmiy/yit/RAMof their abundanceוְהִיאve/HIbut sheמִמַּחְסֹרָהּmim/mach/so/RAfrom her wantנָתְנָהna/te/NAgaveכׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־לָהּkol-a/SHER-laall that she hadאֵת־כׇּל־מִחְיָתָהּ׃et-kol-mich/ya/TAall her living

    For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
