1. 1

   וַיָּקׇםAnd he aroseמִשָּׁםfrom thence,וַיֵּלֶךְand comethאֶל־גְּבוּלinto the coasts ofיְהוּדָהJudaeaמֵעֵבֶרby the farther side ofהַיַּרְדֵּןJordan:וַיִּקָּהֲלוּand resortעוֹדagain;אֵלָיוunto himהֲמוֹןthe multitudeעָםof the people,וַיְלַמְּדֵםand he taught them,כְּפַעַםasבְּפָעַם׃he was wont.

   And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judæa by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.

   וַיִּגְּשׁוּAnd cameאֵלָיוto him,הַפְּרוּשִׁיםthe Phariseesלְנַסּוֹתוֹtempting him.וַיִּשְׁאָלֻהוּand asked him,וַיֹּאמְרוּsaying,הֲיוּכַלIs it lawfulאִישׁfor a manלְשַׁלַּחto put awayאֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹ׃his wife?

   And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.

3. 3

   וַיַּעַןAnd he answeredוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,מַה־צִּוָּהWhat did commandאֶתְכֶםyou?משֶׁה׃Moses

   And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?

4. 4

   וַיֹּאמְרוּAnd they said,משֶׁהMosesהִתִּירsufferedלִכְתֹּבto writeסֵפֶרa bill ofכְּרִיתֻתdivorcement,וּלְשַׁלֵּחַ׃and to put her away.

   And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.

   וַיַּעַןAnd answeredיֵשׁוּעַJesusוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,מִפְּנֵיForקְשִׁיthe hardness ofלְבַבְכֶםyour heartכָּתַבhe wroteלָכֶםyouאֶת־הַמִּצְוָהprecept.הַזֹּאת׃this

   And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.

6. 6

   אֲבָלButמֵרֵאשִׁיתfrom the beginning ofהַבְּרִיאָהthe creationזָכָרmaleוּנְקֵבָהand femaleבָּרָאmadeאֹתָםthem.אֱלֹהִים׃God

   But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

7. 7

   עַל־כֵּןFor this causeיַעֲזׇב־אִישׁshall a man leaveאֶת־אָבִיוhis fatherוְאֶת־אִמּוֹand mother,וְדָבַקand cleaveבְּאִשְׁתּוֹ׃to his wife;

   For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

8. 8

   וְהָיוּAnd shall beשְׁנֵיהֶםthey twainלְבָשָׂרflesh:אֶחָדoneוְאִם־כֵּןso thenאֵפוֹאthereforeאֵינָםthey areעוֹדno moreשְׁנַיִםtwain,כִּיbutאִם־בָּשָׂרflesh.אֶחָד׃one

   And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

9. 9

   לָכֵןthereforeאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־חִבַּרhath joined together,אֱלֹהִיםGodלֹאnotיַפְרִידֶנּוּlet put asunder.אָדָם׃man

   What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

10. 10

    וַיְהִיAndבַּבָּיִתin the houseוַיָּשׁוּבוּagainתַלְמִידָיוhis disciplesלִשְׁאֹלaskedאֹתוֹhimעַל־זֹאת׃of the same matter.

    And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.

11. 11

    וַיֹּאמֶרAnd he saithאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,הַמְשַׁלֵּחַWhosoever shall put awayאֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹhis wife,וְלֹקֵחַand marryאַחֶרֶתanother,נֹאֵףcommitteth adulteryהוּאheעָלֶיהָ׃against her.

    And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.

12. 12

    וְאִשָּׁהAnd a womanכִּיifתַעֲזֹבshall put awayאִישָׁהּher husband,וְהָיְתָהand be marriedלְאִישׁto a manאַחֵרanother,נֹאֶפֶתcommitteth adulteryהִיא׃she.

    And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

13. 13

    וַיָּבִיאוּAnd they broughtאֵלָיוunto himיְלָדִיםyoung children,לְמַעַןthatיִגַּעhe should touchבָּהֶםthem:וַיִּגְעֲרוּand rebukedהַתַּלְמִידִיםhis disciplesבַּמְּבִיאִיםthose that broughtאֹתָם׃them.

    And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.

14. 14

    וַיַּרְאBut when saw it,יֵשׁוּעַJesusוַיֵּרַעit displeasedלוֹhim much,וַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,הַנִּיחוּSufferלַיְלָדִיםthe little childrenלָבוֹאto comeאֵלַיunto me,וְאַל־תִּמְנָעוּםand forbid them not:כִּיforלְאֵלֶּהof such isמַלְכוּתthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃God.

    But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

15. 15

    אָמֵןVerilyאֹמֵרsayאֲנִיIלָכֶםunto you,כֹּלWhosoeverאֲשֶׁר־לֹאshall notיְקַבֵּלreceiveאֶת־מַלְכוּתthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִיםGodכַּיֶּלֶדas a little child,לֹא־יָבֹאhe shall not enterבָהּ׃therein.

    Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

16. 16

    וַיְחַבְּקֵםAnd he took them up in his arms,וַיָּשֶׁתputיָדָיוhis handsעֲלֵיהֶםupon them,וַיְבָרֲכֵם׃and blessed them.

    And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

17. 17

    וַיְהִיAnd whenבְּצֵאתוֹhe was gone forthלַדֶּרֶךְinto the way,וְהִנֵּה־אִישׁthere came oneרָץrunningלִקְרָאתוֹto meet him,וַיִּכְרַעand kneeledלְפָנָיוto him,וַיִּשְׁאַלand askedאוֹתוֹhim,לֵאמֹרsaying,רַבִּיMaster,הַטּוֹבGoodמָהwhatאֶעֱשֶׂהshall I doוְאִירַשׁthat I may inheritחַיֵּיlife?עוֹלָם׃eternal

    And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

18. 18

    וַיֹּאמֶרAnd saidלוֹunto him,יֵשׁוּעַJesusמַדּוּעַWhyקָרָאתָcall youלִּיmeטוֹבgood?אֵיןthere is noneטוֹבgoodכִּיbutאִםone,אֶחָדthat is,וְהוּאevenהָאֱלֹהִים׃God.

    And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

19. 19

    הֵןBehold,יָדַעְתָּYou knowאֶת־הַמִּצְוֹתthe commandments,לֹאDo notתִנְאָףcommit adultery,לֹאDo notתִרְצָחkill,לֹאDo notתִגְנֹבsteal,לֹא־תַעֲנֶהDo not bearעֵדwitness,שָׁקֶרfalseלֹאDefraudתַעֲשֹׁקnot,כַּבֵּדHonorאֶת־אָבִיךָyour fatherוְאֶת־אִמֶּךָ׃and mother.

    Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

20. 20

    וַיַּעַןAnd he answeredוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלָיוunto him,רַבִּיMaster,אֶת־כׇּל־אֵלֶּהall theseשָׁמַרְתִּיhave I observedמִנְּעוּרָי׃from my youth.

    And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

21. 21

    וַיַּבֶּט־בּוֹThen beholding himיֵשׁוּעַJesusוַיֶּאֱהָבֵהוּloved him,וַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלָיוunto him,אַחַתOne thingחָסַרְתָּyou lack:לֵךְgo your way,מְכֹרsellאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־לְךָwhatsoever you have,וְתֵןand giveלָעֲנִיִּיםto the poor,וִיהִי־לְךָand you shall haveאוֹצָרtreasureבַּשָּׁמָיִםin heaven:וּבוֹאand come,שָׂאtake upאֶת־הַצְּלוּבthe cross,וְלֵךְand followאַחֲרָי׃me.

    Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

22. 22

    וַיֵּצֶר־לוֹAnd he was sadעַל־הַדָּבָרat the sayingהַזֶּהthis,וַיֵּעָצֵבand was grieved,וַיֵּלֶךְand wentלוֹhis way:כִּי־הוֹןfor possessionsרַבgreatהָיָהhe hadלוֹ׃to him.

    And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

23. 23

    וַיַּבֵּטAnd lookedיֵשׁוּעַJesusסָבִיבround about,וַיֹּאמֶרand saithאֶל־תַּלְמִידָיוunto his disciples,כַּמָּהHowיִקְשֶׁהhardlyלְבַעֲלֵיshall they that haveנְכָסִיםrichesלָבוֹאenterבְּמַלְכוּתinto the kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃God!

    And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

24. 24

    וַיִּבָּהֲלוּAnd were astonishedהַתַּלְמִידִיםthe disciplesעַל־דְּבָרָיוat his words.וַיֹּסֶףBut again,יֵשׁוּעַJesusוַיַּעַןansweredוַיֹּאמֶרand saithלָהֶםunto them,בָּנַיChildren,מֶהhowקָשֶׁהhard is itלַבֹּטְחִיםfor them that trustעַל־חֵילָםin richesלָבוֹאto enterאֶל־מַלְכוּתinto the kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃God!

    And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

25. 25

    נָקֵלIt is easierלַגָּמָלfor a camelלַעֲבֹרto go throughבְּנֶקֶבthe eye ofהַמַּחַטa needle,מִבּוֹאthan forעָשִׁירa rich manאֶל־מַלְכוּתto enter into the kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃God.

    It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

26. 26

    וַיּוֹסִיפוּAnd they wereעוֹדyet moreלְהִשְׁתּוֹמֵםastonished out of measure,וַיֹּאמְרוּsayingאִישׁamongאֶל־אָחִיוthemselves,וּמִי־אֵפוֹאWho thenיוּכַלcanלְהִוָּשֵׁעַ׃be saved?

    And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?

27. 27

    וַיַּבֶּט־בָּםAnd looking upon themיֵשׁוּעַJesusוַיֹּאמַרsaith,מִבְּנֵיWith the sons ofאָדָםmenתִּפָּלֵאit is impossible,זֹאתthis thing,אַךְbutלֹאnotמֵאֱלֹהִיםwith God:כִּיforמֵאֱלֹהִיםwith Godלֹאnotיִפָּלֵאis impossible,כׇּל־דָּבָר׃all things.

    And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

28. 28

    וַיָּחֶלThen beganפֶּטְרוֹסPeterלֵאמֹרto sayאֵלָיוunto him,הֵןLo,אֲנַחְנוּweעָזַבְנוּhave leftאֶת־הַכֹּלall,וַנֵּלֶךְand have followedאַחֲרֶיךָ׃you.

    Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

29. 29

    וַיַּעַןAnd answeredיֵשׁוּעַJesusוַיֹּאמֶרand said,אָמֵןVerilyאֹמֵרsayאֲנִיIלָכֶםunto you,כִּיthatאֵיןThere is noאִישׁmanאֲשֶׁרthatעָזַבhath leftאֶת־בֵּיתוֹhouse,אוֹorאֶת־אֶחָיוbrethren,אוֹorאֶת־אַחְיוֹתָיוsisters,אוֹorאֶת־אָבִיוfather,אוֹorאֶת־אִמּוֹmother,אוֹorאֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹwife,אוֹorאֶת־בָּנָיוchildren,אוֹorאֶת־שְׂדוֹתָיוlands,לְמַעֲנִיfor my sake,וּלְמַעַןandהַבְּשׂוֹרָה׃the gospel's,

    And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,

30. 30

    אֲשֶׁרBut heלֹאshallיִקַּחreceiveעַתָּהnowבַּזְּמַןin time,הַזֶּהthisבְּכׇל־הָרְדִיפוֹתwith persecutions;מֵאָהan hundredפְעָמִיםfoldכָּהֵמָּהas many,בָּתִּיםhouses,וְאַחִיםand brethren,וַאֲחָיוֹתand sisters,וְאִמּוֹתand mothers,וּבָנִיםand children,וְשָׂדוֹתand lands,וְלָעוֹלָםand in the worldהַבָּאto comeחַיֵּיeternalעוֹלָם׃life.

    But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

31. 31

    וְאוּלָםButרַבִּיםmanyמִן־הָרִאשׁוֹנִיםthat are firstיִהְיוּshall beאַחֲרוֹנִיםlast;וְהָאַחֲרוֹנִיםand the lastרִאשׁוֹנִים׃first.

    But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.

32. 32

    וַיְהִיAnd they wereבַדֶּרֶךְin the wayבַּעֲלוֹתָםgoing upיְרוּשָׁלַיִםto Jerusalem;וְיֵשׁוּעַand Jesusהוֹלֵךְwentלִפְנֵיהֶםbefore them:וְהֵמָּהand theyנִבְהָלִיםwere amazed;וְהוֹלְכִיםand as they followedאַחֲרָיוhim,בַּחֲרָדָהthey were afraid.וַיּוֹסֶףAnd he tookלָקַחַתagainאֵלָיוunto himאֶת־שְׁנֵים־הֶעָשָׂרthe twelve,וַיָּחֶלand beganלְהַגִּידto tellלָהֶםthemאֶת־אֲשֶׁרwhat thingsיִקְרֵהוּshould happen unto him,לֵאמֹר׃Saying,

    And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,

33. 33

    הִנֵּהBehold,אֲנַחְנוּweעֹלִיםgo upיְרוּשָׁלָיְמָהto Jerusalem;וּבֶן־הָאָדָםand the Son of manיִמָּסֵרshall be deliveredלְרָאשֵׁיunto the chiefהַכֹּהֲנִיםpriests,וְלַסּוֹפְרִיםand unto the scribes;וְיַרְשִׁיעֻהוּand they shall condemn himלָמוּתto death,וְיִמְסְרוּand shall deliverאֹתוֹhimלַגּוֹיִם׃to the Gentiles:

    Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:

34. 34

    וִיהָתֵלּוּAnd they shall mockבוֹhim,וְיַכֻּהוּand shall smite himבַשׂוֹטִיםwith scourges,וְיָרֹקּוּand shall spitבְּפָנָיוupon him,וִימִיתֻהוּand shall kill him:וּבַיּוֹםand the dayהַשְּׁלִישִׁיthirdקוֹםhe shall riseיָקוּם׃again.

    And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.

35. 35

    וַיִּקְרְבוּAnd comeאֵלָיוunto him,יַעֲקֹבJamesוְיוֹחָנָןand John,בְּנֵיthe sons ofזַבְדַּיZebedee,וַיֹּאמְרוּsaying,רַבִּיMaster,חֲפֵצִיםdesirousאֲנַחְנוּare we,שֶׁתַּעֲשֶׂהthat you should doלָנוּfor usאֶת־אֲשֶׁרwhatsoeverנִשְׁאַלwe shall desireמִמֶּךָ׃of you.

    And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.

36. 36

    וַיֹּאמֶרAnd he saidאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,מָה־אִוִּיתֶםWhat would youכִּי־אֶעֱשֶׂהthat I should doלָכֶם׃for you?

    And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?

37. 37

    וַיֹּאמְרוּThey saidאֵלָיוunto him,תְּנָה־לָּנוּGrant unto usלָשֶׁבֶתthat we may sit,אֶחָדoneלִימִינְךָon your right hand,וְאֶחָדand the otherלִשְׂמֹאלְךָon your left hand,בִּכְבוֹדֶךָ׃in your glory.

    They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.

38. 38

    וַיֹּאמֶרBut saidאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,יֵשׁוּעַJesusלֹאnotיְדַעְתֶּםYou knowאֵת־אֲשֶׁרwhatשְׁאַלְתֶּםyou ask:הֲתוּכְלוּcan youלִשְׁתּוֹתdrinkאֶת־הַכּוֹסof the cupאֲשֶׁרthatאֲנִיIשֹׁתֶהdrink of?וּלְהִטָּבֵלand be baptizedהַטְּבִילָהwith the baptismאֲשֶׁרthatאֲנִיI amנִטְבָּל׃baptized with?

    But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

39. 39

    וַיֹּאמְרוּAnd they saidאֵלָיוunto him,נוּכׇלWe can.וַיֹּאמֶרAnd saidאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,יֵשׁוּעַJesusאֶת־הַכּוֹסof the cupאֲשֶׁר־אֲנִיthat Iשֹׁתֶהdrink ofתִּשְׁתּוּYou shall indeed drink;וְהַטְּבִילָהand with the baptismאֲשֶׁרthatאֲנִיI amנִטְבָּלbaptized withalתִּטָּבֵלוּ׃shall you be baptized:

    And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

40. 40

    אַךְButשֶׁבֶתto sitלִימִינִיon my right handוְלִשְׂמֹאלִיand on my left handאֵיןis notבְּיָדִיmineלָתֵתto give;בִּלְתִּיbut it shall be givenלַאֲשֶׁרfor whomהוּכַןit is preparedלָהֶם׃for them.

    But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.

41. 41

    וַיְהִיAnd whenכִּשְׁמֹעַheardזֹאתit,הָעֲשָׂרָהthe tenוַיָּחֵלּוּthey beganלִכְעוֹסto be much displeasedאֶל־יַעֲקֹבwith Jamesוְיוֹחָנָן׃and John.

    And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.

42. 42

    וַיִּקְרָאBut calledלָהֶםthem to him,יֵשׁוּעַJesusוַיֹּאמֶרand saithאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,אַתֶּםYouיְדַעְתֶּםknowכִּיthatהַנֶּחֱשָׁבִיםthey which are accountedלְהִשְׂתָּרֵרto ruleעַל־הַגּוֹיִםover the Gentilesהֵםtheyרֹדִיםexercise lordshipבָּהֶםover them;וּגְדוֹלֵיהֶםand their great onesשׁוֹלְטִיםexercise authorityעֲלֵיהֶם׃upon them.

    But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.

43. 43

    וְלֹאBut notיִהְיֶהshall it beכֵןsoבְּקִרְבְּכֶםamong you:כִּיbutאִם־הֶחָפֵץwhosoever willלִהְיוֹתbeגָּדוֹלgreatבָּכֶםamong you,יִהְיֶהshall beלָכֶםyourלִמְשָׁרֵת׃minister:

    But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:

44. 44

    וְהֶחָפֵץAnd whosoever willלִהְיוֹתbeהָרֹאשׁthe chiefest,יִהְיֶהshall beעֶבֶדservantלַכֹּל׃of all.

    And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

45. 45

    כִּיForבֶן־הָאָדָםthe Son of manגַּם־הוּאevenלֹאnotבָאcameלְמַעַןto the endיְשָׁרֲתוּהוּhe should be served,כִּיbutאִםratherלְשָׁרֵתto minister,וְלָתֵתand to giveאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹhis lifeכֹּפֶרa ransomתַּחַתforרַבִּים׃many.

    For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

46. 46

    וַיָּבֹאוּAnd they cameיְרִיחוֹto Jericho:וַיְהִיandכְּצֵאתוֹas he went outמִירִיחוֹof Jerichoהוּאheוְתַלְמִידָיוwith his disciplesוַהֲמוֹןand a number ofעַםpeople,רַבgreatוְהִנֵּהbehold,בַּרְטִימַיBartimaeus,בֶּן־טִימַיthe son of Timaeus,אִישׁa manעִוֵּרblind,יָשַׁבsatעַל־יַדbyהַדֶּרֶךְthe highway sideלְבַקֵּשׁbeggingצְדָקָה׃alms.

    And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimæus, the son of Timæus, sat by the highway side begging.

47. 47

    וַיִּשְׁמַעAnd when he heardכִּיthatהוּאit wasיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַנָּצְרִיof Nazareth,וַיָּחֶלhe beganלִצְעֹקto cry out,וַיֹּאמַרand say,אָנָּאOבֶן־דָּוִדyou Son of David,יֵשׁוּעַJesus,חׇנֵּנִי׃have mercy on me.

    And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

48. 48

    וַיִּגְעֲרוּ־בוֹAnd charged himרַבִּיםmanyלְהַחֲשֹׁתוֹthat he should hold his peace:וְהוּאbut heהִרְבָּהa great dealעוֹדthe moreלִזְעֹקcried,בֶּן־דָּוִדYou Son of David,חׇנֵּנִי׃have mercy on me.

    And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

    וַיַּעֲמֹדAnd stood still,יֵשׁוּעַJesusוַיֹּאמֶרand commandedקִרְאוּ־לוֹhim to be called.וַיִּקְרְאוּAnd they callלָעִוֵּרthe blind man,וַיֹּאמְרוּsayingאֵלָיוunto him,חֲזַקBe of good comfort,קוּםrise;קָרָא־לָךְ׃he calleth you.

    And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

50. 50

    וַיַּשְׁלֵךְAnd he, casting awayאֶת־שִׂמְלָתוֹhis garment,מֵעָלָיוfrom him,וַיָּקׇםrose,וַיָּבֹאand cameאֶל־יֵשׁוּעַ׃to Jesus.

    And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

51. 51

    וַיַּעַןAnd answeredיֵשׁוּעַJesusוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלָיוunto him,מַה־תִּרְצֶהWhat will youשֶׁאֶעֱשֶׂה־לָּךְthat I should do unto you?וַיֹּאמֶרsaidאֵלָיוunto him,הָעִוֵּרThe blind manרַבּוּנִיLord,אֲשֶׁרthatאֶרְאֶה׃I might receive my sight.

    And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

52. 52

    וַיֹּאמֶרAnd saidיֵשׁוּעַJesusאֵלָיוunto him,לֶךְ־לְךָGo your way;אֱמוּנָתְךָyour faithהוֹשִׁיעָהhath made wholeלָּךְyou.וּכְרֶגַעAnd immediatelyנִפְקְחוּhe receivedעֵינָיוhis sight,וַיֵּלֶךְand followedאַחֲרֵיafterיֵשׁוּעַJesusבַּדָּרֶךְ׃in the way.

    And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
