   The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

   כַּכָּתוּבkak/ka/TUVas it is writtenבַּנְּבִיאִיםban/ne/vi/IMin the prophetsהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iשֹׁלֵחַsho/LE/achsendמַלְאָכִיmal/a/KHIMy messengerלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore youוּפִנָּהu/fin/NAand he will prepareדַּרְכֶּךָdar/KE/khayour wayלְפָנֶיךָ׃le/fa/NE/khabefore you

   As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

   The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

   יוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnהָיָהha/YAwasטֹבֵלto/VELbaptizingבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessוְקוֹרֵאve/ko/REand proclaimingטְבִילַתte/vi/LATthe baptism ofהַתְּשׁוּבָהhat/te/shu/VArepentanceלִסְלִיחַתlis/li/CHATfor the forgiveness ofחֲטָאִים׃cha/ta/IMsins

   John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

   And there went out unto him all the land of Judæa, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

   וְיוֹחָנָןve/Yo/cha/NANand Johnלָבוּשׁla/VUSHwas clothed inשְׂעַרse/ARhair ofגְּמַלִּיםge/mal/LIMcamelsוְאֵזוֹרve/e/ZORand a belt ofעוֹרorleatherבְּמׇתְנָיוbe/mot/NAYVon his loinsוּמַאֲכָלוֹu/ma/a/kha/LOand his food wasחֲגָבִיםcha/ga/VIMlocustsוּדְבַשׁu/de/VASHand honey ofהַיָּעַר׃hay/YA/arthe forest

   And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;

   וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand he proclaimedלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingבּוֹאbocomeיָבֹאya/VOwill comeאַחֲרַיa/cha/RAYafter meהֶחָזָקhe/cha/ZAKthe one strongerמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/nithan Iאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomקָטֹנְתִּיka/TON/tiI am too smallמִלִּכְרֹעַmil/likh/RO/ato bow downלְהַתִּירle/hat/TIRto untieאֶת־שְׂרוֹךְet-se/ROKHthe strap ofנְעָלָיו׃ne/a/LAYVhis sandals

   And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

   I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבַּיָּמִיםbay/ya/MIMin the daysהָהֵםha/HEMthoseוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusמִנְּצֶרֶתmin/Ne/TSE/retfrom Nazarethאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבַּגָּלִילbag/Ga/LILin Galileeוַיִּטָּבֵלvay/yit/ta/VELand was baptizedעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEbyיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnבַּיַּרְדֵּן׃bay/Yar/DENin the Jordan

   And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passאַךְ־עָלֹהakh-a/LOjust come upעָלָהa/LAhe came upמִן־הַמָּיִםmin-ham/MA/yimout of the waterוַיַּרְאvay/YARand he sawהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdנִפְתְּחוּnif/te/CHUwere openedוְהָרוּחַve/Ha/RU/achand the Spiritכְּיוֹנָהke/yo/NAlike a doveיֹרֵדyo/REDdescendingעָלָיו׃a/LAYVon him

    And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand there wasקוֹלkola voiceמִן־הַשָּׁמָיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenאַתָּהat/TAyou areבְּנִיbe/NIMy Sonיְדִידִיye/di/DIMy belovedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomרָצִיתִי־בוֹ׃ra/tsi/TI-voI delight in

    And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

    וּמַהֵרu/ma/HERand quicklyהוֹצִיאוֹho/tsi/Obrought him outהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritהַמִּדְבָּרָה׃ham/mid/BA/rainto the wilderness

    And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness.

13. 13

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand he wasשָׁםshamthereבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessאַרְבָּעִיםar/ba/IMfortyיוֹםyomdaysוְהַשָּׂטָןve/has/Sa/TANand Satanנִסָּהוּnis/SA/hutempted himוַיְהִיvay/HIand he wasעִם־הַחַיּוֹתim-ha/chay/YOTwith the wild beastsוְהַמַּלְאָכִיםve/ham/mal/a/KHIMand the angelsשֵׁרְתוּהוּ׃sher/tu/HUserved him

    And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

    וְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand afterאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהוּשַׂםhu/SAMhad been putיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnבַּמִּשְׁמָרbam/mish/MARin custodyבָּאbacameיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַגָּלִילָהhag/Ga/LI/lainto Galileeוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand proclaimedאֶת־בְּשׂוֹרַתet-be/so/RATthe gospel ofמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוַיֹּאמַר׃vay/yo/MARand said

    Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

    מָלְאָהma/le/Ais fulfilledהָעֵתha/ETthe timeוְקָרְבָהve/ka/re/VAand has drawn nearמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodשׁוּבוּSHU/vurepentוְהַאֲמִינוּve/ha/a/MI/nuand believeבַבְּשׂוֹרָה׃vab/be/so/RAin the gospel

    And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּהִתְהַלְּכוֹbe/hit/hal/le/KHOas he walkedעַל־יַדal-yadbyיָם־הַגָּלִילyam-Hag/ga/LILthe sea of Galileeוַיַּרְאvay/YARhe sawוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonוְאַנְדְּרַיve/An/de/RAYand Andrewאָחִיוa/CHIVhis brotherפֹּרְשִׂיםpor/SIMspreadingמְצוֹדָהme/tso/DAa netבַּיָּםbay/YAMinto the seaכִּיkiforדַיָּגִיםday/ya/GIMfishermenהָיוּ׃ha/YUthey were

    Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

17. 17

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלְכוּle/KHUcomeאַחֲרַיa/cha/RAYafter meוְאֶתֶּנְכֶםve/et/ten/KHEMand I will make youדַּיְּגֵיday/ye/GEfishers ofאֲנָשִׁים׃a/na/SHIMmen

    And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

18. 18

    וַיַּעַזְבוּvay/ya/az/VUand they leftמַהֵרma/HERquicklyאֶת־מִכְמְרֹתֵיהֶםet-mikh/me/ro/te/HEMtheir netsוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand wentאַחֲרָיו׃a/cha/RAYVafter him

    And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

19. 19

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּעָבְרוֹke/a/ve/ROas he passedמְעַטme/ATa littleמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereוַיַּרְאvay/YARhe sawאֶת־יַעֲקֹבet-Ya/a/KOVJamesבֶּן־זַבְדַּיben-Zav/DAYthe son of Zebedeeוְאֶת־יוֹחָנָןve/ET-yo/cha/NANand Johnאָחִיוa/CHIVhis brotherוְגַם־הֵמָּהve/GAM-HEM/maand they also wereבׇאֳנִיָּהvo/o/niy/YAin the boatוּמְתַקְּנִיםu/me/tak/ke/NIMand mendingאֶת־הַמִּכְמֹרוֹת׃et-ham/mikh/mo/ROTthe nets

    And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

20. 20

    וַיְמַהֵרvay/ma/HERand quicklyוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAhe calledאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themוַיַּעַזְבוּvay/ya/az/VUand they leftאֶת־זַבְדַּיet-Zav/DAYZebedeeאֲבִיהֶםa/vi/HEMtheir fatherבׇּאֳנִיָּהbo/o/niy/YAin the boatעִם־הַשְּׂכִירִיםim-has/se/khi/RIMwith the hired menוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand wentאַחֲרָיו׃a/cha/RAYVafter him

    And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

21. 21

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֶל־כְּפַר־נַחוּםel-Ke/FAR-na/CHUMinto Capernaumוַיְמַהֵרvay/ma/HERand quicklyלָבוֹאla/VOenteredבַשַּׁבָּתvash/shab/BATon the sabbathלְבֵיתle/VETinto the house ofהַכְּנֵסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyוַיְלַמֵּד׃vay/lam/MEDand taught

    And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

22. 22

    וַיִּשְׁתּוֹמֲמוּvay/yish/to/ma/MUand they were astonishedעַל־תּוֹרָתוֹal-to/ra/TOat his teachingכִּי־הָיָהki-ha/YAfor he wasמְלַמְּדָםme/lam/me/DAMteaching themכְּאִישׁke/ISHas a man ofשִׁלְטוֹןshil/TONauthorityוְלֹאve/LOand notכַּסֹּפְרִים׃kas/sof/RIMas the scribes

    And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

23. 23

    וְאִישׁve/ISHand a manהָיָהha/YAwasשָׁםshamthereבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofכְּנִסְתָּםke/nis/TAMtheir assemblyאֲשֶׁר־רוּחַa/SHER-RU/achwho had a spirit ofטֻמְאָהtum/Auncleannessבּוֹboin himוַיִּזְעַקvay/yiz/AKand he cried outלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

24. 24

    אֲהָהּa/HAahמָה־לָּנוּma-LA/nuwhat is to usוָלָךְva/LAKHand to youיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַנָּצְרִיhan/Na/tse/RIthe Nazareneלְהַאֲבִידֵנוּle/ha/a/vi/DE/nuto destroy usבָאתָVA/tahave you comeיְדַעְתִּיךָye/da/TI/khaI know youמִיmiwhoאַתָּהat/TAyou areקְדוֹשׁKe/DOSHthe Holy One ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

25. 25

    וַיִּגְעַר־בּוֹvay/yig/AR-boand rebuked himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהֵאָלֵםhe/a/LEMbe silentוְצֵאve/TSEand come outמִמֶּנּוּ׃mim/MEN/nufrom him

    And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

26. 26

    וַיִּסְחָבֵהוּvay/yis/cha/ve/HUand dragged himרוּחַRU/achthe spirit ofהַטֻּמְאָהhat/tum/Auncleannessוַיִּזְעַקvay/yiz/AKand cried outבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outמִמֶּנּוּ׃mim/MEN/nufrom him

    And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

27. 27

    וַיִּבָּהֲלוּvay/yib/ba/ha/LUand they were amazedכֻלָּםkhul/LAMall of themוַיִּשְׁאֲלוּvay/yish/a/LUand they askedאִישׁisha manאֶת־רֵעֵהוּet-re/E/huhis neighborלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמַה־זֹּאתma-zotwhat is thisמַה־הִיאma-hiwhat isהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe teachingהַחֲדָשָׁהha/cha/da/SHAnewאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאַף־לְרוּחוֹתaf-le/ru/CHOTeven the spirits ofהַטֻּמְאָהhat/tum/Auncleannessמְצַוֶּהme/tsav/VEcommandsהוּאhuheבְּשִׁלְטוֹןbe/shil/TONwith authorityוְהֵנָּהve/HEN/naand theyשֹׁמְעוֹתshom/OTlistenלוֹ׃lohim

    And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

    וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outשִׁמְעוֹshim/Ohis reportמַהֵרma/HERquicklyבְּכׇל־סְבִיבוֹתbe/KHOL-se/vi/VOTin all the surroundings ofאֶרֶץE/retsthe land ofהַגָּלִיל׃Hag/ga/LILGalilee

    And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

29. 29

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterצֵאתָםtse/TAMthey went outמִבֵּיתmib/BETfrom the house ofהַכְּנֵסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameבֵּיתָהBE/tato the house ofשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonוְאַנְדְּרַיve/An/de/RAYand AndrewעִםimwithיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJamesוְיוֹחָנָן׃ve/Yo/cha/NANand John

    And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

30. 30

    וְחוֹתֶנֶתve/cho/TE/netand the mother-in-law ofשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonשָׁכְבָהsha/khe/VAlayאֲחוּזַתa/chu/ZATseized byהַקַּדָּחַתhak/kad/da/CHATthe feverוַיְמַהֲרוּvay/ma/ha/RUand quicklyוַיְדַבְּרוּvay/dab/be/RUthey spokeאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himעָלֶיהָ׃a/LE/haabout her

    But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.

    וַיִּגַּשׁvay/yig/GASHand he came nearוַיֹּאחֶזvay/YO/chezand took hold ofבְּיָדָהּbe/ya/DAher handוַיְקִימֶהָvay/ki/ME/haand raised herוַתִּרֶףvat/TI/refand leftמִמֶּנָּהmim/MEN/naherהַקַּדַּחַתhak/kad/DA/chatthe feverפִּתְאֹםpit/OMsuddenlyוַתְּשָׁרֶתvat/te/SHA/retand she servedאוֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

    And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

32. 32

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבָעֶרֶבva/E/revin the eveningכְּבוֹאke/VOwhen setהַשָּׁמֶשׁhash/SHA/meshthe sunוַיָּבִיאוּvay/ya/VI/uthey broughtאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאֵת־כׇּל־הַחוֹלִיםet-kol-ha/cho/LIMall the sickוְאֵתve/ETandאֲחוּזֵיa/chu/ZEthose seized byהַשֵּׁדִים׃hash/she/DIMthe demons

    And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.

33. 33

    וְכׇל־הָעִירve/KHOL-ha/IRand all the cityנֶאֶסְפוּne/es/FUwere gatheredיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherפֶּתַחPE/tachat the door ofהַבַּיִת׃hab/BA/yitthe house

    And all the city was gathered together at the door.

34. 34

    וַיְרַפֵּאvay/rap/PEand he healedרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהָיוּha/YUwereחוֹלִיםcho/LIMsickחֳלָיִיםcho/la/YIMwith sicknessesשׁוֹנִיםsho/NIMvariousוַיְגָרֵשׁvay/ga/RESHand cast outשֵׁדִיםshe/DIMdemonsהַרְבֵּהhar/BEmanyוְלֹא־נָתַןve/LO-na/TANand did not letאֶת־הַשֵּׁדִיםet-hash/she/DIMthe demonsלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakכִּיkiforיְדָעֻהוּ׃ye/da/U/huthey knew him

    And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

    וַיַּשְׁכֵּםvay/yash/KEMand he rose earlyבַּבֹּקֶרbab/BO/kerin the morningבְּעוֹדbe/ODwhile stillנָשֶׁףNA/sheftwilightוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEhe went outוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentאֶל־מְקוֹםel-me/KOMto a placeחׇרְבָּהchor/BAdesolateוַיִּתְפַּלֵּלvay/yit/pal/LELand prayedשָׁם׃shamthere

    And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

36. 36

    וַיִּרְדְּפוּvay/yir/de/FUand pursuedאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVafter himשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonוְהָאֲנָשִׁיםve/ha/a/na/SHIMand the menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereאִתּוֹ׃it/TOwith him

    And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.

37. 37

    וַיִּמְצָאֻהוּvay/yim/tsa/U/huand they found himוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdכֻלָּםkhul/LAMallמְבַקְשִׁיםme/vak/SHIMare seekingאוֹתְךָ׃ot/KHAyou

    And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.

38. 38

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themלְכוּle/KHUcomeוְנֵלְכָהve/nel/KHAlet us goאֶל־עָרֵיel-a/REto the towns ofהַפְּרָזוֹתhap/pe/ra/ZOTthe villagesהַקְּרֹבוֹתhak/ke/ro/VOTnearbyוְאֶקְרָאve/ek/RAand I will proclaimגַם־שָׁםgam-shamthere alsoכִּיkiforבַעֲבוּר־זֹאתva/a/VUR-zotbecause of thisיָצָאתִי׃ya/TSA/tiI came out

    And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand he wasקֹרֵאko/REproclaimingבְּבָתֵּיbe/vat/TEin the houses ofכְנִסְתָּםkhe/nis/TAMtheir assemblyבְּכׇל־הַגָּלִילbe/KHOL-hag/ga/LILthroughout all Galileeוַיְגָרֶשׁvay/GA/reshand cast outאֶת־הַשֵּׁדִים׃et-hash/she/DIMthe demons

    And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.

    וַיָּבוֹאvay/ya/VOand cameאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאִישׁisha manמְצֹרָעme/tso/RAleprousוַיִּתְחַנֵּןvay/yit/chan/NENand pleadedאֵלָיוe/LAYVwith himוַיִּכְרַעvay/yikh/RAand kneltעַל־בִּרְכָּיוal-bir/KAYVon his kneesוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himאִם־תִּרְצֶהim-tir/TSEif you wantתּוּכַלtu/KHALyou canלְטַהֲרֵנִי׃le/ta/ha/RE/nicleanse me

    And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

    וַיְרַחֵםvay/ra/CHEMand had compassionעָלָיוa/LAYVon himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand stretched outיָדוֹya/DOhis handוַיִּגַּע־בּוֹvay/yig/GA-boand touched himוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidרֹצֶהro/TSEwantingאָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amטְהָר׃te/HARbe clean

    And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

42. 42

    עוֹדֶנּוּo/DEN/nuwhile he was stillמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspeakingוְהַצָּרַעַתve/hats/tsa/RA/atand the leprosyסָרָהsa/RAturned asideמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himוַיִּטְהָר׃vay/yit/HARand he was clean

    And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

43. 43

    וַיַּזְהִירֵהוּvay/yaz/hi/re/HUand he charged himוַיְמַהֵרvay/ma/HERand quicklyלְהוֹצִיאוֹle/ho/tsi/Osent him outהַחוּצָה׃ha/CHU/tsaoutside

    And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;

44. 44

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himרְאֵהre/Eseeאַל־תַּגִּידal-tag/GIDdo not tellלְאִישׁle/ISHany manדָּבָרda/VARa wordוְלֵךְve/LEKHand goהֵרָאֵהhe/ra/Eshow yourselfאֶל־הַכֹּהֵןel-hak/ko/HENto the priestוְהַקְרֵבve/hak/REVand offerלְטׇהֳרָתְךָle/to/ho/ra/te/KHAfor your cleansingאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּהet-a/SHER-tsiv/VAwhat commandedמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesלְעֵדוּתle/e/DUTfor a testimonyלָהֶם׃la/HEMto them

    And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

    וְהוּאve/HUbut heיָצָאya/TSAwent outוַיָּחֶלvay/YA/cheland beganלִקְרֹאlik/ROto proclaimהַרְבֵּהhar/BEmuchוּלְהַשְׁמִיעַu/le/hash/MI/aand to make heardהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe matterעַדaduntilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־יָכֹלlo-ya/KHOLhe could notלָבוֹאla/VOenterעוֹדodagainאֶל־עִירel-irinto a cityלְעֵינֵיle/e/NEbefore the eyes ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand he stayedמִחוּץmi/CHUTSoutsideלָעִירla/IRthe cityבִּמְקֹמוֹתbim/ko/MOTin placesחׇרְבָּהchor/BAdesolateוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמִכׇּל־עֲבָרָיוmik/KOL-a/va/RAYVfrom every sideמִסָּבִיב׃mis/sa/VIVaround

    But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
