1. 1

   וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand he calledאֶת־שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂרet-she/NEM-a/SARthe twelveתַּלְמִידָיוtal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themגְּבוּרָהge/vu/RApowerוְשׇׁלְטָןve/shol/TANand authorityעַלaloverכׇּל־הַשֵּׁדִיםkol-hash/she/DIMall the demonsוְלִרְפֹּאve/lir/POand to healחֳלָיִים׃cho/la/YIMdiseases

   Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

   וַיִּשְׁלָחֵםvay/yish/la/CHEMand he sent themלִקְרֹאlik/ROto proclaimאֶת־מַלְכוּתet-mal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוְלִרְפֹּאve/lir/POand to healאֶת־הָחֹלִים׃et-ha/cho/LIMthe sick

   And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themאַל־תִּקְחוּal-tik/CHUdo not takeמְאוּמָהme/U/maanythingלַדָּרֶךְlad/DA/rekhfor the roadלֹאlonotמַטּוֹתmat/TOTstaffsוְלֹאve/LOand notתַרְמִילtar/MILa bagוְלֹא־לֶחֶםve/LO-LE/chemand not breadוְלֹא־כָסֶףve/LO-KHA/sefand not silverוְאַל־יִהְיֶהve/AL-yih/YEand let there not beלְאִישׁle/ISHto a manמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youשְׁתֵּיshtetwoכֻתֳּנוֹת׃khut/to/NOTtunics

   And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.

   And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.

   וְכֹלve/KHOLand allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹא־יְקַבְּלוּlo-ye/kab/be/LUdo not receiveאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouצְאוּtse/Ugo outמִן־הָעִירmin-ha/IRfrom the cityהַהִיאha/HIthatוְנַעֲרוּve/na/a/RUand shake offאֶת־הֶעָפָרet-he/a/FARthe dustמֵעַלme/ALfromרַגְלֵיכֶםrag/le/KHEMyour feetלְעֵדוּתle/e/DUTfor a testimonyבָּהֶם׃ba/HEMagainst them

   And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

   וַיֵּצְאוּvay/yets/Uand they went outוַיַּעַבְרוּvay/ya/av/RUand passedבַכְּפָרִיםvak/ke/fa/RIMthrough the villagesמְבַשְּׂרִיםme/vas/se/RIMbringingאֶת־הַבְּשׂוֹרָהet-hab/be/so/RAthe good newsוּמְרַפְּאִיםu/me/rap/pe/IMand healingבְּכׇל־מָקוֹם׃be/KHOL-ma/KOMin every place

   And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.

   וְהוֹרְדוֹסve/Hor/DOSand Herodשַׂרsarruler ofהָרֹבַעha/RO/vathe quarterשָׁמַעsha/MAheardאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרet-kol-a/SHERall thatנַעֲשָׂהna/a/SAwas doneעַל־יָדוֹal-ya/DOby himוַתִּפָּעֶםvat/tip/PA/emand was troubledרוּחוֹru/CHOhis spiritכִּי־יֵשׁki-yeshfor there wereאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoאָמְרוּa/me/RUsaidיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnנֵעוֹרne/ORhad been awakenedמִן־הַמֵּתִים׃min-ham/me/TIMfrom the dead

   Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead;

   And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהוֹרְדוֹסHor/DOSHerodהֵןhenbeholdאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIנָשָׂאתִיna/SA/titook offאֶת־רֹאשׁet-roshthe head ofיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnמֵעָלָיוme/a/LAYVfrom himוּמִי־זֶהu/MI-zeand who is thisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERabout whomאֲנִיa/NIIשֹׁמֵעַsho/ME/ahearעָלָיוa/LAYVabout himכַּדְּבָרִיםkad/de/va/RIMthings likeהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיְבַקֵּשׁvay/vak/KESHand he soughtלִרְאוֹתוֹ׃lir/o/TOto see him

   And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.

    And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

    וַהֲמוֹןva/ha/MONand the crowd ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleיָדְעוּya/de/Uknewוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand they wentאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVafter himוַיְקַבְּלֵםvay/kab/be/LEMand he received themוַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand he spokeאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themעַל־מַלְכוּתal-mal/KHUTabout the kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוַיִּרְפָּאvay/yir/PAand he healedאֶת־הַצְּרִיכִיםet-hats/tse/ri/KHIMthose who neededלִרְפוּאָה׃lir/fu/Ahealing

    And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.

    וְהַיּוֹםve/hay/YOMand the dayרָפָהra/FAwanedלַעֲרֹבla/a/ROVtoward eveningוּשְׁנֵיםu/she/NEMand the twoהֶעָשָׂרhe/a/SARtenנִגְּשׁוּnig/ge/SHUcame nearוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himשַׁלַּח־נָאshal/LACH-nasend away nowאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleוְיֵלְכוּve/yel/KHUand let them goאֶל־הַכְּפָרִיםel-hak/ke/fa/RIMto the villagesוְהַחֲצֵרִיםve/ha/cha/tse/RIMand the hamletsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat areסְבִיבוֹתֵינוּse/vi/vo/te/NUaround usלָלוּןla/LUNto lodgeוְלִמְצֹאve/lim/TSOand to findמָזוֹןma/ZONfoodכִּי־פֹהki-fofor hereבְּמָקוֹםbe/ma/KOMin a placeשׁוֹמֵםsho/MEMdesolateאֲנָחְנוּ׃a/NACH/nuwe are

    And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themתְּנוּ־אַתֶּםte/NU-at/TEMyou giveלָהֶםla/HEMthemלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLto eatוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵיןenthere is notלָנוּLA/nuto usכִּיkibutאִםimonlyחֲמֵשֶׁתcha/ME/shetfiveכִּכְּרוֹת־לֶחֶםkik/ke/ROT-LE/chemloaves of breadוְדָגִיםve/da/GIMand fishשְׁנַיִםshe/NA/yimtwoבִּלְתִּיbil/TIunlessאִם־נֵלֵךְim-ne/LEKHwe goוְנִקְנֶה־אֹכֶלve/nik/NE-O/kheland buy foodלְכׇל־הָעָםle/KHOL-ha/AMfor all the peopleהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.

    כִּיkiforהָיוּha/YUthere wereכַּחֲמֵשֶׁתka/cha/ME/shetabout fiveאַלְפֵי־אִישׁal/FE-ishthousand menוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־תַּלְמִידָיוel-tal/mi/DAYVto his disciplesהוֹשִׁיבוּho/shi/VUseatאֹתָםo/TAMthemשׁוּרוֹתshu/ROTrowsשׁוּרוֹתshu/ROTby rowsחֲמִשִּׁיםcha/mish/SHIMfiftyאִישׁishmenהַשּׁוּרָהhash/SHU/rathe rowהָאֶחָת׃ha/e/CHATone

    For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.

15. 15

    וַיַּעֲשׂוּ־כֵןvay/ya/a/SU-khenand they did soוַיּוֹשִׁיבוּvay/yo/SHI/vuand seatedאֶת־כֻּלָּם׃et-kul/LAMall of them

    And they did so, and made them all sit down.

16. 16

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand he tookאֶת־חֲמֵשֶׁתet-cha/ME/shetthe fiveכִּכְּרוֹתkik/ke/ROTloaves ofהַלֶּחֶםhal/LE/chembreadוְאֶת־שְׁנֵיve/ET-she/NEand the twoהַדָּגִיםhad/da/GIMfishוַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand lifted upעֵינָיוe/NAYVhis eyesהַשָּׁמַיְמָהhash/sha/MAY/matoward heavenוַיְבָרֶךְvay/VA/rekhand blessedעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMover themוַיִּפְרֹסvay/yif/ROSand brokeוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveלְתַלְמִידָיוle/tal/mi/DAYVto his disciplesלָשׂוּםla/SUMto putלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָעָם׃ha/AMthe people

    Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.

    וַיֹּאכְלוּvay/yo/khe/LUand ateכֻלָּםkhul/LAMall of themוַיִּשְׂבָּעוּvay/yis/BA/uand were satisfiedוַיִּשְׂאוּvay/yis/Uand they took upמִן־הַפְּתוֹתִיםmin-hap/pe/to/TIMof the piecesהַנּוֹתָרִיםhan/no/ta/RIMleft overלָהֶםla/HEMby themמְלֹאme/LOthe fullness ofשְׁנֵים־עָשָׂרshe/NEM-a/SARtwelveסַלִּים׃sal/LIMbaskets

    And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passהוּאhuheמִתְפַּלֵּלmit/pal/LELwas prayingלְבַדּוֹle/vad/DOaloneוַיֵּאָסְפוּvay/ye/a/se/FUgatheredאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himתַּלְמִידָיוtal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesוַיִּשְׁאַלvay/yish/ALand he askedאֹתָםo/TAMthemלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהֲמוֹןha/MONthe crowd ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleמָה־אֹמְרִיםma-om/RIMwhat do they sayלִיliof meמִי־אָנִי׃mi-A/niwho I am

    And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?

    וַיַּעֲנוּvay/ya/a/NUand they answeredוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnהַמַּטְבִּילham/Mat/BILthe Baptistוְיֵשׁve/YESHand there areאֹמְרִיםom/RIMwho sayאֵלִיָּסE/liy/YASEliasוַאֲחֵרִיםva/a/che/RIMand othersאֹמְרִיםom/RIMsayקָםkamhas risenנָבִיאna/VIa prophetאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִן־הַנְּבִיאִיםmin-han/ne/vi/IMof the prophetsהַקַּדְמוֹנִים׃hak/kad/mo/NIMof old

    They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.

20. 20

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youמַה־תֹּאמְרוּma-to/me/RUwhat do you sayלִיliof meמִי־אָנִיmi-A/niwho I amוַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמְשִׁיחַMe/SHI/achthe Messiah ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאָתָּה׃AT/tayou are

    He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.

    וְהוּאve/HUand heהֵעִידhe/IDwarnedבָּםbamthemוַיְצַוֵּםvay/tsav/VEMand commanded themלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInotהַגִּידhag/GIDto tellלְאִישׁle/ISHto any manאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe matterהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing;

22. 22

    וַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand he saidצָרִיךְtsa/RIKHmustבֶּן־הָאָדָםben-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manלֵעָנֹתle/a/NOTto sufferהַרְבֵּהhar/BEmuchוְהַזְּקֵנִיםve/haz/ze/ke/NIMand the eldersוְרָאשֵׁיve/ra/SHEand the chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַסּוֹפְרִיםve/has/sof/RIMand the scribesיִמְאָסֻהוּyim/a/su/HUwill reject himוְיֵהָרֵגve/ye/ha/REGand be killedוּבַיּוֹםu/vay/YOMand on the dayהַשְּׁלִישִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthirdקוֹםkomriseיָקוּם׃ya/KUMhe will rise

    Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.

    וְאֶל־כֻּלָּםve/EL-kul/LAMand to all of themאָמַרa/MARhe saidאִישׁisha manכִּי־יַחְפֹּץki-yach/POTSif desiresלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goאַחֲרָיa/cha/RAYafter meיְכַחֵשׁye/kha/CHESHlet him denyבְּנַפְשׁוֹbe/naf/SHOhimselfוְנָשָׂאve/na/SAand take upאֶת־צְלוּבוֹet-tse/lu/VOhis crossיוֹםyomdayיוֹםyomby dayוְהָלַךְve/ha/LAKHand goאַחֲרָי׃a/cha/RAYafter me

    And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

24. 24

    כִּיkiforהֶחָפֵץhe/cha/FETSwhoever desiresלְהַצִּילle/hats/TSILto saveאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹet-naf/SHOhis lifeתֹּאבַדto/VADwill be lostנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis lifeמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himוְהַמְאַבֵּדve/ham/ab/BEDand whoever losesאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹet-naf/SHOhis lifeלְמַעֲנִיle/ma/a/NIfor my sakeהוּאhuheיַצִּילֶנָּה׃yats/tsi/LEN/nawill save it

    For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

25. 25

    כִּיkiforמַה־יּוֹעִילma-yo/ILwhat will profitהָאָדָםha/a/DAMthe manשֶׁיִּקְנֶהshey/yik/NEif he gainsאֵת־כׇּל־הָעוֹלָםet-kol-ha/o/LAMthe whole worldוְאִבַּדve/ib/BADand losesוְהִשְׁחִיתve/hish/CHITand destroysאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹ׃et-naf/SHOhis soul

    For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

26. 26

    כִּיkiforכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHERwhoeverיֵבוֹשׁye/VOSHis ashamedמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/niof meוּמִדְּבָרַיu/mid/de/va/RAYand of my wordsבֶּן־הָאָדָםben-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manיֵבוֹשׁye/VOSHwill be ashamedמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof himבְּבוֹאוֹbe/vo/Owhen he comesבִּכְבוֹדוֹbikh/vo/DOin his gloryוּבִכְבוֹדu/vikh/VODand in the glory ofאָבִיוA/VIVhis Fatherוְהַמַּלְאָכִיםve/ham/mal/a/KHIMand of the angelsהַקְּדוֹשִׁים׃hak/ke/do/SHIMholy

    For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

27. 27

    וּבֶאֱמֶתu/ve/e/METand trulyאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youיֵשׁyeshthere areמִן־הָעֹמְדִיםmin-ha/om/DIMof those standingפֹּהpohereאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹא־יִטְעֲמוּlo-yit/a/MUwill not tasteמָוֶתMA/vetdeathעַדaduntilכִּי־יִרְאוּki-yir/Uthey seeאֶת־מַלְכוּתet-mal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּשְׁמֹנָהkish/mo/NAabout eightיָמִיםya/MIMdaysאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHhe tookאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאֶת־פֶּטְרוֹסet-Pet/ROSPeterוְאֶת־יוֹחָנָןve/ET-yo/cha/NANand Johnוְאֶת־יַעֲקֹבve/ET-ya/a/KOVand Jamesוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upאֶל־הָהָרel-ha/HARto the mountainלְהִתְפַּלֵּלle/hit/pal/LELto prayשָׁם׃shamthere

    And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּהִתְפַּלֲלוֹbe/hit/pa/la/LOas he prayedוַיֵּהָפְכוּvay/ye/ha/fe/KHUwas changedפָנָיוfa/NAYVhis faceוּלְבוּשׁוֹu/le/vu/SHOand his clothingהִלְבִּיןhil/BINbecame whiteוְהִבְרִיק׃ve/hiv/RIKand flashed

    And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenמִדַּבְּרִיםmid/dab/be/RIMspeakingאִתּוֹit/TOwith himמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesוְאֵלִיָּס׃ve/E/liy/YASand Elias

    And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

31. 31

    הֵמָּהHEM/matheyנִרְאוּnir/Uappearedבִּכְבוֹדָםbikh/vo/DAMin their gloryוְהִגִּידוּve/hig/GI/duand spokeאֶת־אַחֲרִיתוֹet-a/cha/ri/TOof his endאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיְמַלְּאֶנָּהye/mal/le/en/NAhe would fulfillבִּירוּשָׁלָיִם׃bI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalem

    Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

    וּפֶטְרוֹסu/Fet/ROSand Peterוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand those who wereאִתּוֹit/TOwith himנִרְדָּמִיםnir/da/MIMdeep asleepוַיָּקִיצוּvay/ya/KI/tsuand they awokeוַיִּרְאוּvay/yir/Uand they sawאֶת־כְּבוֹדוֹet-ke/vo/DOhis gloryוְאֶת־שְׁנֵיve/ET-she/NEand the twoהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMmenהָעֹמְדִיםha/om/DIMstandingעָלָיו׃a/LAYVby him

    But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

    And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.

    עוֹדodstillהוּאhuheמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERwas speakingכָּזֹאתka/ZOTlike thisוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdעָנָןa/NANa cloudסֹכֵךְso/KHEKHcoveredעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMover themוּכְבוֹאָםu/khe/vo/AMand as they enteredבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHwithinהֶעָנָןhe/a/NANthe cloudוַיֶּחֱרָדוּ׃vay/ye/che/RA/duthey trembled

    While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.

35. 35

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdקוֹלkola voiceמִן־הֶעָנָןmin-he/a/NANout of the cloudאֹמֵרo/MERsayingזֶה־בְּנִיze-Be/NIthis is My Sonיְדִידִיye/di/DIMy belovedאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himתִּשְׁמָעוּן׃tish/ma/UNyou shall listen

    And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

36. 36

    וּבְהִשָּׁמַעu/ve/hish/sha/MAand when was heardהַקּוֹלhak/KOLthe voiceנִמְצָאnim/TSAwas foundיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלְבַדּוֹle/vad/DOaloneוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyהֶחֱשׁוּhe/che/SHUwere silentוְלֹא־הִגִּידוּve/LO-hig/GI/duand did not tellדָבָרda/VARa wordלְאִישׁle/ISHto any manבַּיָּמִיםbay/ya/MIMin the daysהָהֵםha/HEMthoseמִכֹּלmik/KOLof allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatרָאוּ׃ra/Uthey had seen

    And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.

37. 37

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passמִמׇּחֳרָתmim/mo/cho/RATon the next dayבְּרִדְתָּםbe/rid/TAMas they went downמִן־הָהָרmin-ha/HARfrom the mountainוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEwent outעַם־רַבam-ravmany peopleלִקְרָאתוֹ׃lik/ra/TOto meet him

    And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.

38. 38

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאִישׁisha manאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִן־הָעָםmin-ha/AMfrom the peopleזֹעֵקzo/EKcried outלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאָנָּאan/NApleaseרַבִּיrab/BIrabbiפְּנֵה־נָאpe/NE-naturn nowאֶל־בְּנִיel-be/NIto my sonכִּיkiforיָחִידya/CHIDan only oneהוּאhuis heלִי׃lito me

    And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.

39. 39

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdכִּיkiwhenאָחַזa/CHAZseizesבּוֹbohimרוּחַRU/achthe spiritהוּאhuheמְצַעֵקme/tsa/EKcries outפִּתְאֹםpit/OMsuddenlyוְהָרוּחַve/ha/RU/achand the spiritמְרוֹצֵץme/ro/TSETSdashesאֹתוֹo/TOhimבְּהוֹרִידbe/ho/RIDletting fallרִירוֹri/ROhis spittleוּמַקְשֶׁהu/mak/SHEand it is hardלָסוּרla/SURto departמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himוִידַכֵּאvi/dak/KEand crushesאֹתוֹ׃o/TOhim

    And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him.

40. 40

    וָאֲבַקֵּשׁva/a/vak/KESHand I askedמִתַּלְמִידֶיךָmit/tal/mi/de/KHAof your disciplesלְגָרֲשׁוֹle/ga/ra/SHOto cast it outוְלֹאve/LOand notיָכֹלוּ׃ya/KHO/luthey could

    And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not.

41. 41

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidהוֹיhoyOדּוֹרdorgenerationחֲסַרcha/SARlackingאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAfaithוּפְתַלְתֹּלu/fe/tal/TOLand crookedעַד־מָתַיad-ma/TAYhow longאֶהְיֶהeh/YEshall I beעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMwith youוְאֶשָּׂאve/es/SAand bearאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMwith youהָבֵאha/VEbringאֶת־בִּנְךָet-bin/KHAyour sonהֵנָּה׃HEN/nahere

    And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.

42. 42

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passעוֹדֶנּוּo/DEN/nuwhile he was yetנִגָּשׁnig/GASHcoming nearהִפִּילוֹhip/pi/LOthrew him downהַשֵּׁדhash/SHEDthe demonוַיְרוֹצֲצֵהוּvay/ro/tsa/tse/HUand dashed himוְיֵשׁוּעַve/Ye/SHU/aand Jesusגָּעַרga/ARrebukedבָּרוּחַba/RU/achthe spiritהַטָּמֵאhat/ta/MEuncleanוַיְרַפֵּאvay/rap/PEand healedאֶת־הַנַּעַרet-han/NA/arthe boyוַיְשִׁיבֵהוּvay/shi/VE/huand returned himלְאָבִיו׃le/a/VIVto his father

    And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

43. 43

    וַיִּשְׁתּוֹמֲמוּvay/yish/to/ma/MUand were astonishedכֻלָּםkhul/LAMall of themעַל־גְּדֻלַּתal-ge/dul/LATat the greatness ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּתָמְהָםbe/ta/me/HAMas they marveledכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themעַל־כֹּלal-kolat allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשָׂהa/SAhe didוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/mersaidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֶל־תַּלְמִידָיו׃el-tal/mi/DAYVto his disciples

    And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,

44. 44

    שִׂימוּSI/muputאַתֶּםat/TEMyouבְּאׇזְנֵיכֶםbe/oz/ne/KHEMin your earsאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseכִּיkiforעָתִידa/TIDis aboutבֶּן־הָאָדָםben-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manלְהִמָּסֵרle/him/ma/SERto be deliveredבִּידֵיbi/DEinto the hands ofבְנֵי־אָדָם׃ve/NE-a/DAMthe sons of men

    Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.

45. 45

    וְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyלֹאlonotהֵבִינוּhe/VI/nuunderstoodאֶת־הַמַּאֲמָרet-ham/ma/a/MARthe sayingהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוַיְהִיvay/HIand it wasנֶעְלָםne/LAMhiddenמִדַּעְתָּםmid/da/TAMfrom their knowledgeוַיִּירְאוּvay/yi/re/Uand they fearedלִשְׁאֹלlish/OLto askאֹתוֹo/TOhimעַל־הַמַּאֲמָרal-ham/ma/a/MARabout the sayingהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.

46. 46

    וַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland it came upעַל־לְבָבָםal-le/va/VAMon their heartלַחֲשׁוֹבla/cha/SHOVto thinkמִיmiwhoהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLis the greatestבָּהֶם׃ba/HEMamong them

    Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.

47. 47

    וַיֵּדַעvay/YE/daand knewיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֶת־מַחֲשֶׁבֶתet-ma/cha/SHE/vetthe thought ofלִבָּםlib/BAMtheir heartוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand he tookיֶלֶדYE/leda childוַיַּעֲמִידֵהוּvay/ya/a/mi/de/HUand stood himאֶצְלוֹ׃ets/LObeside him

    And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,

48. 48

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themהַמְקַבֵּלham/kab/BELwhoever receivesאֶת־הַיֶּלֶדet-hay/YE/ledthe childהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלִשְׁמִיlish/MIin my nameאוֹתִיo/TImeהוּאhuheמְקַבֵּלme/kab/BELreceivesוְהַמְקַבֵּלve/ham/kab/BELand whoever receivesאוֹתִיo/TImeהוּאhuheמְקַבֵּלme/kab/BELreceivesאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERhim whoשְׁלָחָנִיshe/la/CHA/nisent meכִּיkiforהַקָּטֹןhak/ka/TONthe leastבְּכֻלְּכֶםbe/khul/le/KHEMamong all of youהוּאhuheיִהְיֶהyih/YEwill beהַגָּדוֹל׃hag/ga/DOLgreat

    And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

49. 49

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidמוֹרֶהmo/REteacherרָאִינוּra/I/nuwe sawאִישׁisha manמְגָרֵשׁme/ga/RESHcasting outשֵׁדִיםshe/DIMdemonsבִּשְׁמֶךָbish/ME/khain your nameוַנִּכְלָאvan/nikh/LAand we restrainedאוֹתוֹo/TOhimכִּיkibecauseאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuhe does notהוֹלֵךְho/LEKHgoעִמָּנוּ׃im/MA/nuwith us

    And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.

50. 50

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאַל־תִּכְלָאוּal-tikh/la/Udo not restrainכִּיkiforכֹלkholallאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuis notלְצָרֵינוּle/tsa/RE/nuagainst usלָנוּLA/nufor usהוּא׃huis he

    And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

51. 51

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenקָרְבוּka/re/VUdrew nearיְמֵיye/MEthe days ofהֵעָלוֹתוֹhe/a/lo/TOhis being taken upוַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semhe setאֶת־פָּנָיוet-pa/NAYVhis faceלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goיְרוּשָׁלָיִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

    And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

52. 52

    וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand he sentמַלְאָכִיםmal/a/KHIMmessengersלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand they wentוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand cameאֶל־אֶחָדel-e/CHADinto oneמִכְּפָרֵיmik/ke/fa/REof the villages ofהַשֹּׁמְרוֹנִיםhash/Shom/ro/NIMthe Samaritansלְהָכִיןle/ha/KHINto prepareלוֹ׃lofor him

    And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.

53. 53

    וְלֹאve/LOand notקִבְּלֻהוּkib/be/lu/HUthey received himכִּיkiforפָנָיוfa/NAYVhis faceהֹלְכִיםhol/KHIMwas goingיְרוּשָׁלָיִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

    And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.

54. 54

    וַיִּרְאוּvay/yir/Uand sawיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJamesוְיוֹחָנָןve/Yo/cha/NANand Johnתַּלְמִידָיוtal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour Lordהֲתִרְצֶהha/tir/TSEdo you wantוְנֹאמַרve/no/MARthat we sayשֶׁתֵּרֵדshet/te/REDthat come downאֵשׁeshfireמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom the heavensוְתֹאכְלֵםve/to/khe/LEMand consume themכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasעָשָׂהa/SAdidאֵלִיָּס׃E/liy/YASElias

    And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?

55. 55

    וַיִּפֶןvay/YI/fenand he turnedוַיִּגְעַר־בָּםvay/yig/AR-bamand rebuked themוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidלֹאlonotיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMknowמֵאֵי־זוֹme/E-zoof what manner ofרוּחַRU/achspiritאַתֶּם׃at/TEMyou are

    But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

56. 56

    כִּיkiforבֶן־הָאָדָםven-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manלֹאlonotבָאvacameלְאַבֵּדle/ab/BEDto destroyנַפְשׁוֹתnaf/SHOTthe souls ofאָדָםa/DAMmenכִּיkibutאִםimratherלְהוֹשִׁיעַle/ho/SHI/ato saveוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand they wentלָהֶםla/HEMtheir wayאֶל־כְּפָרel-ke/FARto a villageאַחֵר׃a/CHERother

    For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

57. 57

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּלֶכְתָּםbe/lekh/TAMas they wentבַּדֶּרֶךְbad/DE/rekhon the wayוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/mersaidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאִישׁisha manאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordאֵלְכָהel/KHAI will goאַחֲרֶיךָa/cha/RE/khaafter youאֶל־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרel-kol-a/SHERto whereverתֵּלֵךְ׃te/LEKHyou go

    And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

58. 58

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלַשּׁוּעָלִיםlash/shu/a/LIMthe foxes haveיֵשׁyeshthere areמְאוּרוֹתme/u/ROTdensוּלְעוֹףu/le/OFand the birds ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensקִנִּיםkin/NIMnestsוּבֶן־הָאָדָםu/VEN-ha/a/DAMbut the Son of manאֵין־לוֹen-lohas noמָקוֹםma/KOMa placeלְהָנִיחַle/ha/NI/achto layרֹאשׁוֹ׃ro/SHOhis head

    And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

59. 59

    וְאֶל־אִישׁve/EL-ishand to a manאַחֵרa/CHERotherאָמַרa/MARhe saidלֵךְlekhgoאַחֲרָיa/cha/RAYafter meוְהוּאve/HUand heאָמַרa/MARsaidאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordתֶּן־לִיten-lilet meוְאֵלְכָהve/el/KHAand I will goבָרִאשׁוֹנָהva/ri/sho/NAfirstלִקְבֹּרlik/BORto buryאֶת־אָבִי׃et-a/VImy father

    And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

60. 60

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַנַּחhan/NACHleaveלַמֵּתִיםlam/me/TIMthe deadלִקְבֹּרlik/BORto buryאֶת־מֵתֵיהֶםet-me/te/HEMtheir deadוְאַתָּהve/at/TAbut youלֵךְlekhgoהוֹדַעho/DAmake knownאֶת־מַלְכוּתet-mal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

61. 61

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidעוֹדodalsoאִישׁisha manאַחֵרa/CHERotherאֵלְכָהel/KHAI will goאַחֲרֶיךָa/cha/RE/khaafter youאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordרַקrakonlyהַנִּיחָה־לִּיhan/NI/cha-lilet meבָרִאשׁוֹנָהva/ri/sho/NAfirstלְהִפָּטֵרle/hip/pa/TERto take leaveמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEof those ofבֵיתִי׃ve/TImy house

    And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.

62. 62

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַשָּׂםhas/SAMwhoever putsיָדוֹya/DOhis handעַל־הַמַּחֲרֵשָׁהal-ham/ma/cha/re/SHAupon the plowוּמַבִּיטu/mab/BITand looksאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVbehind himלֹאlonotיִכְשַׁרyikh/SHARis fitלְמַלְכוּתle/mal/KHUTfor the kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
