   After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themהֵןhenbeholdהַקָּצִירhak/ka/TSIRthe harvestרַבravis greatוְהַפֹּעֲלִיםve/hap/po/a/LIMand the workersמְעַטִּיםme/at/TIMare fewלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהִתְפַּלְלוּhit/pal/LUprayאֶל־אֲדוֹןel-a/DONthe Lord ofהַקָּצִירhak/ka/TSIRthe harvestוְיִשְׁלַחve/yish/LACHthat He sendפֹּעֲלִיםpo/a/LIMworkersלִקְצִירוֹ׃lik/tsi/ROinto His harvest

   Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

   לְכוּ־נָאle/KHU-nago nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIשֹׁלֵחַsho/LE/achsendאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouכִּשְׁלֹחַkish/LO/achas one sendsכְּבָשִׂיםke/va/SIMlambsבֵּיןbenamongזְאֵבִים׃ze/e/VIMwolves

   Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

4. 4

   אַל־תִּשְׂאוּal-tis/Udo not carryכִיסkhisa purseוְלֹאve/LOand notתַרְמִילtar/MILa bagוְלֹאve/LOand notנְעָלִיםne/a/LIMsandalsוְאַל־תִּשְׁאֲלוּve/AL-tish/a/LUand do not askלִשְׁלוֹם־אִישׁlish/LOM-ishof the peace of a manבַּדָּרֶךְ׃bad/DA/rekhon the way

   Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.

   וּלְכׇל־בַּיִתu/le/KHOL-BA/yitand to every houseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתָּבֹאוּta/VO/uyou enterשָׁםshamthereאִמְרוּim/RUsayבָרִאשׁוֹנָהva/ri/sho/NAfirstשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceלַבַּיִתlab/BA/yitto the houseהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

   And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

6. 6

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it will beכִּיkiifיִהְיֶה־שָּׁםyih/YE-shamthere is thereבֶּן־שָׁלוֹםben-sha/LOMa son of peaceוְנָחve/NACHand will restעָלָיוa/LAYVupon himשְׁלוֹמְכֶםshe/lom/KHEMyour peaceוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youיָשׁוּב׃ya/SHUVit will return

   And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.

   וּבַבַּיִתu/vab/BA/yitand in the houseהַהוּאha/HUthatתֵּשְׁבוּtesh/VUstayוְתֹאכְלוּve/to/khe/LUand eatוְתִשְׁתּוּve/tish/TUand drinkמֵאֲשֶׁרme/a/SHERfrom whatיִנָּתֵןyin/na/TENis givenלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכִּיkiforרָאוּיra/UYworthyהַפּוֹעֵלhap/po/ELthe workerלִשְׂכָרוֹlis/kha/ROof his wageאַל־תִּסְעוּal-tis/Udo not moveמִבַּיִתmib/BA/yitfrom houseלְבָיִת׃le/VA/yitto house

   And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

   וְכׇל־עִירve/KHOL-irand every cityאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתָּבֹאוּta/VO/uyou enterבָהּvaitוְקִבְּלוּve/kib/be/LUand they receiveאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאִכְלוּikh/LUeatאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatיָשִׂימוּya/SI/muthey setלִפְנֵיכֶם׃lif/ne/KHEMbefore you

   And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:

   וְרִפְאוּve/rif/Uand healאֶת־הַחוֹלִיםet-ha/cho/LIMthe sickאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho areבְּקִרְבָּהּbe/kir/BAin itוְאִמְרוּve/im/RUand sayלָהֶםla/HEMto themקׇרְבָהkor/VAhas drawn nearאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

   And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

    וְכׇל־עִירve/KHOL-irand every cityאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתָּבֹאוּta/VO/uyou enterבָהּvaitוְלֹאve/LOand notיְקַבְּלוּye/kab/be/LUthey receiveאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוִיצָאתֶםvi/tsa/TEMand you shall go outאֶל־רְחוֹבוֹתֶיהָel-re/cho/vo/te/HAto its streetsוַאֲמַרְתֶּם׃va/a/mar/TEMand say

    But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,

    אַףafevenאֶת־עֲפַרet-a/FARthe dust ofעִירְכֶםi/re/KHEMyour cityאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדָּבַקda/VAKcleavesבָּנוּBA/nuto usנְנַעֲרֵהוּne/na/a/re/HUwe shake offלָכֶםla/KHEMagainst youרַקrakonlyיָדֹעַya/DO/aknowתֵּדְעוּted/Uyou shall knowכִּיkithatקׇרְבָהkor/VAhas drawn nearאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

12. 12

    אֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youלִסְדוֹםLis/DOMfor Sodomיֵקַלye/KALit will be lighterבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatמִן־הָעִירmin-ha/IRthan for the cityהַהִיא׃ha/HIthat

    But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

    אוֹיoywoeלָךְlakhto youכּוֹרָזִיןKo/ra/ZINChorazinאוֹיoywoeלָךְlakhto youבֵּית־צָיְדָהBet-tsa/ye/DABethsaidaכִּיkiforהַגְּבוּרוֹתhag/ge/vu/ROTthe mighty worksאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנַעֲשׂוּna/a/SUwere doneבְקִרְבְּכֶןve/kir/be/KHENin youאִלּוּil/LUifנַעֲשׂוּna/a/SUthey had been doneבְּצוֹרbe/TSORin Tyreוּבְצִידוֹןu/ve/Tsi/DONand in Sidonהֲלֹאha/LOwould notכְבָרkhe/VARalreadyיָשְׁבוּya/she/VUthey have satבְּשַׂקbe/SAKin sackclothוָאֵפֶרva/E/ferand ashesוָשָׁבוּ׃va/SHA/vuand turned

    Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

14. 14

    אָכֵןa/KHENbutלְצוֹרle/TSORfor Tyreוְצִידוֹןve/Tsi/DONand Sidonיֵקַלye/KALit will be lighterבַּדִּיןbad/DINin the judgmentמִכֶּם׃mik/KEMthan for you

    But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

15. 15

    וְאַתְּve/ATTand youכְּפַר־נַחוּםKe/FAR-na/CHUMCapernaumאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעַד־הַשָּׁמַיִםad-hash/sha/MA/yimto the heavensהִתְרוֹמָמְתְּhit/ro/MAMTwho exalted yourselfאֶל־שְׁאוֹלel-She/OLto Sheolתּוּרָדִי׃tu/ra/DIyou will be brought down

    And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

16. 16

    הַשּׁוֹמֵעַhash/sho/ME/awhoever listensאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youאֵלַיe/LAYto meהוּאhuheשׁוֹמֵעַsho/ME/alistensוְהַבּוֹזֶהve/hab/bo/ZEand whoever despisesאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאוֹתִיo/TImeהוּאhuheבוֹזֶהvo/ZEdespisesוְהַבּוֹזֶהve/hab/bo/ZEand whoever despisesאוֹתִיo/TImeהוּאhuheבוֹזֶהvo/ZEdespisesאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERhim whoשְׁלָחָנִי׃she/la/CHA/nisent me

    He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

17. 17

    וַיָּשׁוּבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand returnedהַשִּׁבְעִיםhash/shiv/IMthe seventyבְּשִׂמְחָהbe/sim/CHAwith joyוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour Lordגַּם־הַשֵּׁדִיםgam-hash/she/DIMeven the demonsנִכְנָעִיםnikh/na/IMsubmitתַּחְתֵּינוּtach/TE/nuto usבִּשְׁמֶךָ׃bish/ME/khathrough your name

    And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

18. 18

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themרָאִיתִיra/I/tiI sawאֶת־הַשָּׂטָןet-Has/sa/TANSatanנֹפֵלno/FELfallingכַּבָּרָקkab/ba/RAKlike lightningמִן־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃min-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heaven

    And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

19. 19

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהִשְׁלַטְתִּיhish/lat/TII have given authorityאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMto youלִדְרֹךְlid/ROKHto treadעַל־נְחָשִׁיםal-ne/cha/SHIMon serpentsוְעַקְרַבִּיםve/ak/rab/BIMand scorpionsוְעַלve/ALand overכׇּל־גְּבוּרַתkol-ge/vu/RATall the power ofהָאֹיֵבha/o/YEVthe enemyוְכׇל־דָּבָרve/KHOL-da/VARand anythingלֹאlonotיַזִּיקyaz/ZIKwill harmלָכֶם׃la/KHEMyou

    Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20. 20

    אַךְakhbutבָּזֹאתba/ZOTin thisאַל־תִּשְׂמְחוּal-tis/me/CHUdo not rejoiceאֲשֶׁר־נִכְנָעִיםa/SHER-nikh/na/IMthat submitתַּחְתֵּיכֶםtach/te/KHEMto youהָרוּחוֹתha/ru/CHOTthe spiritsכִּיkibutאִם־שִׂמְחוּim-sim/CHUrather rejoiceעַלalbecauseאֲשֶׁר־נִכְתְּבוּa/SHER-nikh/te/VUthat are writtenשְׁמוֹתֵיכֶםshe/mo/te/KHEMyour namesבַּשָּׁמָיִם׃bash/sha/MA/yimin heaven

    Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

21. 21

    בַּשָּׁעָהbash/sha/Aat the hourהַהִיאha/HIthatעָלַץa/LATSexultedיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusבְּרוּחַbe/RU/achin spiritוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאוֹדְךָod/KHAI thank YouאָבִיA/VImy Fatherאֲדוֹןa/DONLord ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimheavenוְהָאָרֶץve/ha/A/retsand earthכִּיkithatהִסְתַּרְתָּhis/TAR/taYou have hiddenאֶת־אֵלֶּהet-EL/lethese thingsמִן־הַחֲכָמִיםmin-ha/cha/kha/MIMfrom the wiseוְהַנְּבוֹנִיםve/han/ne/vo/NIMand the understandingוְגִלִּיתָםve/gil/li/TAMand revealed themלָעֹלֲלִיםla/o/la/LIMto infantsהֵןhenyesאָבִיA/VImy Fatherכִּי־כֵןki-khenfor soהָיָהha/YAwasרָצוֹןra/TSONthe willמִלְּפָנֶיךָ׃mil/le/fa/NE/khabefore You

    In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

22. 22

    הַכֹּלhak/KOLall thingsנִמְסַר־לִיnim/SAR-lihas been delivered to meמֵאֵתme/ETbyאָבִיA/VImy Fatherוְאֵיןve/ENand no oneיוֹדֵעַyo/DE/aknowsמִיmiwhoהַבֵּןhab/BENthe Son isבִּלְתִּיbil/TIexceptהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherוּמִיu/MIand whoהָאָבha/AVthe Father isבִּלְתִּיbil/TIexceptהַבֵּןhab/BENthe Sonוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand he to whomיַחְפֹּץyach/POTSdesiresהַבֵּןhab/BENthe Sonלְגַלּוֹתle/gal/LOTrevealלוֹ׃lohim

    All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

23. 23

    וַיִּפֶןvay/YI/fenand he turnedאֶל־תַּלְמִידָיוel-tal/mi/DAYVto his disciplesלְבַדָּםle/vad/DAMaloneוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאַשְׁרֵיash/REblessed areהָעֵינַיִםha/e/NA/yimthe eyesהָרֹאוֹתha/ro/OTthat seeאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatאַתֶּםat/TEMyouרֹאִים׃ro/IMsee

    And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:

24. 24

    כִּיkiforאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMyouנְבִיאִיםne/vi/IMprophetsוּמְלָכִיםu/me/la/KHIMand kingsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyחָשְׁקוּcha/she/KUlongedלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatאַתֶּםat/TEMyouרֹאִיםro/IMseeוְלֹאve/LOand notרָאוּra/Uthey sawוְלִשְׁמֹעַve/lish/MO/aand to hearאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatאַתֶּםat/TEMyouשֹׁמְעִיםshom/IMhearוְלֹאve/LOand notשָׁמֵעוּ׃sha/ME/uthey heard

    For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

25. 25

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdחֲכַםcha/KHAMa wise man ofתּוֹרָהto/RAlawאֶחָדe/CHADoneקָםkamstood upלְנַסּוֹתוֹle/nas/so/TOto test himוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand sayingמוֹרֶהmo/REteacherמָה־אֶעֱשֶׂהma-e/e/SEwhat shall I doוְאִירַשׁve/i/RASHand I may inheritחַיֵּיchay/YEthe life ofעוֹלָם׃o/LAMeternity

    And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

26. 26

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמַה־כָּתוּבma-ka/TUVwhat is writtenבַּתּוֹרָהbat/to/RAin the lawאֵיךְekhhowאַתָּהat/TAyouקוֹרֵא׃ko/REread

    He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

27. 27

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidוְאָהַבְתָּve/a/hav/TAand you shall loveאֵת־הָאָדוֹןet-ha/a/DONthe Lordאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godבְּכׇל־לְבָבְךָbe/KHOL-le/va/ve/KHAwith all your heartוּבְכׇל־נַפְשְׁךָu/ve/KHOL-naf/she/KHAand with all your soulוּבְכׇל־מְאֹדְךָu/ve/KHOL-me/od/KHAand with all your mightוּבְכׇל־מַדָּעֲךָu/ve/KHOL-mad/da/a/KHAand with all your mindוְאֶת־רֵעֲךָve/ET-re/a/KHAand your neighborכָּמוֹךָ׃ka/MO/khaas yourself

    And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

28. 28

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himכֵּןkenrightlyהֱשִׁיבוֹתָhe/shi/VO/tayou have answeredעֲשֵׂה־זֹאתa/SE-zotdo thisוֶחְיֵה׃vech/YEand live

    And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

29. 29

    וְהוּאve/HUand heחָפֵץcha/FETSwantingלְהִצְטַדֵּקle/hits/tad/DEKto justify himselfוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־יֵשׁוּעַel-Ye/SHU/ato Jesusוּמִיu/MIand whoהוּאhuisרֵעִי׃re/Imy neighbor

    But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

30. 30

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאִישׁisha manאֶחָדe/CHADoneיָרַדya/RADwent downמִירוּשָׁלַיִםmI/ru/sha/LA/yimfrom JerusalemלִירִיחוֹlI/ri/CHOto Jerichoוְנָפַלve/na/FALand fellבִּידֵיbi/DEinto the hands ofשֹׁדֲדִיםsho/da/DIMrobbersוְהֵםve/HEMand theyהִפְשִׁיטֻהוּhif/shi/tu/HUstripped himוְגַם־פְּצָעֻהוּve/GAM-pe/tsa/u/HUand also wounded himוַיַּעַזְבוּvay/ya/az/VUand leftאוֹתוֹo/TOhimוְהוּאve/HUand he wasעוֹמֵדo/MEDstandingבֵּין־מָוֶתben-MA/vetbetween deathלַחַיִּיםla/chay/YIMand lifeוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand they departedלָהֶם׃la/HEMtheir way

    And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

    וַיִּקֶרvay/YI/kerand it happenedמִקְרֵהוּmik/re/HUby chanceכֹּהֵןko/HENa priestאֶחָדe/CHADoneיָרַדya/RADcame downבַּדֶּרֶךְbad/DE/rekhon the roadהַהוּאha/HUthatוַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawאֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORand he passedמֵעָלָיו׃me/a/LAYVby him

    And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

32. 32

    וְכֵןve/KHENand soגַּם־אִישׁgam-ishalso a man ofלֵוִיLe/VILeviנִקְרָהnik/RAhappenedבַּמָּקוֹםbam/ma/KOMat the placeוַיִּגַּשׁvay/yig/GASHand came nearוַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawאֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORand he passedמֵעָלָיו׃me/a/LAYVby him

    And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

33. 33

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdשֹׁמְרוֹנִיShom/ro/NIa Samaritanהֹלֵךְho/LEKHgoingבַּדֶּרֶךְbad/DE/rekhon the roadוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOcameעָלָיוa/LAYVto himוַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawאֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיֶּהֱמוּvay/ye/he/MUand were stirredמֵעָיו׃me/AYVhis inward parts

    But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

    וַיִּגַּשׁvay/yig/GASHand he came nearאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himוַיֶּחְבַּשׁvay/yech/BASHand bound upאֶת־פְּצָעָיוet-pe/tsa/AYVhis woundsוַיְסוּכֵםvay/su/KHEMand anointed themבְּשֶׁמֶןbe/SHE/menoilוָיָיִןva/YA/yinand wineוַיַּרְכִּיבֵהוּvay/yar/ki/VE/huand mounted himעַל־בְּהֶמְתּוֹal-be/hem/TOon his animalוַיּוֹלִיכֵהוּvay/yo/li/khe/HUand led himאֶל־הַמָּלוֹןel-ham/ma/LONto an innוַיְכַלְכְּלֵהוּ׃vay/khal/ke/le/HUand cared for him

    And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

    וְלַמׇּחֳרָתve/lam/mo/cho/RATand on the next dayבְּנָסְעוֹbe/na/se/Oas he journeyedהוֹצִיאho/TSIhe took outשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoדִינָרִיםdi/na/RIMdenariiוַיִּתְּנֵםvay/yit/te/NEMand gave themלְבַעַלle/VA/alto the master ofהַמָּלוֹןham/ma/LONthe innוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidכַּלְכֵּלkal/KELcare forאוֹתוֹo/TOhimוְאֵתve/ETandאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhatתּוֹסִיףto/SIFyou addעוֹדodmoreלְהוֹצִיאle/ho/TSIto spendעָלָיוa/LAYVupon himאֲנִיa/NIIבְשׁוּבִיve/SHU/viwhen I returnאֲשַׁלְּמֶנּוּa/shal/le/men/NUwill repay itלָךְ׃lakhto you

    And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowמִיmiwhichמִן־הַשְּׁלֹשָׁהmin-hash/she/lo/SHAof these threeהָיָהha/YAwasבְעֵינֶיךָve/e/NE/khain your eyesרֵעַRE/aneighborלַנֹּפֵלlan/no/FELto him that fellבִּידֵיbi/DEinto the hands ofהַשֹּׁדֲדִים׃hash/sho/da/DIMthe robbers

    Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

37. 37

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהָעֹשֶׂהha/o/SEthe one who didעִמּוֹim/MOwith himאֶת־הֶחָסֶדet-he/CHA/sedlovingkindnessוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלֵךְlekhgoוַעֲשֵׂה־כֵןva/a/SE-khenand do soגַּם־אָתָּה׃gam-AT/tayou also

    And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

38. 38

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְנָסְעָםve/na/se/AMas they journeyedוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOhe enteredאֶל־כְּפָרel-ke/FARinto a villageאֶחָדe/CHADoneוְאִשָּׁהve/ish/SHAand a womanאַחַתa/CHAToneוּשְׁמָהּu/she/MAand her nameמָרְתָאMa/re/TAMarthaאָסְפָהa/se/FAtook inאוֹתוֹo/TOhimאֶל־בֵּיתָהּ׃el-be/TAinto her house

    Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39. 39

    וְלָהּve/LAand she hadאָחוֹתa/CHOTa sisterוּשְׁמָהּu/she/MAand her nameמִרְיָםMir/YAMMaryאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיָשְׁבָהya/she/VAsatלְרַגְלֵיle/rag/LEat the feet ofיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ato hearאֶל־דְּבָרוֹ׃el-de/va/ROhis word

    And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.

40. 40

    וּמָרְתָאu/Ma/re/TAbut Marthaיָגְעָהya/ge/Atoiledבְּרֹבbe/ROVin muchשֵׁרוּתָהּshe/ru/TAher servingוַתִּגַּשׁvat/tig/GASHand came nearוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidהֲלֹאha/LOdo notתָשִׂיםta/SIMyou setעַל־לִבְּךָal-lib/be/KHAupon your heartאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֲחוֹתִיa/cho/TImy sisterעֲזָבַתְנִיa/za/vat/NIhas left meלְשָׁרֵתle/sha/RETto serveלְבַדִּיle/vad/DIaloneאֱמׇר־נָאe/MOR-nasay nowאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herוְתִתְמָךְ־בִּי׃ve/tit/MAKH-biand let her support me

    But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41. 41

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהּlato herמָרְתָאMa/re/TAMarthaמָרְתָאMa/re/TAMarthaאַתְּattyou areדֹּאֶגֶתdo/E/getworriedוּמְבֹהֶלֶתu/me/vo/HE/letand troubledלִדְבָרִיםlid/va/RIMabout thingsהַרְבֵּה׃har/BEmany

    And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42. 42

    וְאֵיןve/ENand there is noצֹרֶךְTSO/rekhneedכִּיkibutאִםimonlyבְּאֶחָדbe/e/CHADfor oneוּמִרְיָםu/Mir/YAMand Maryבָּחֲרָהba/cha/RAhas chosenבַּחֵלֶקba/CHE/lekthe portionהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־יֻקַּחlo-yuk/KACHshall not be taken awayמִמֶּנָּה׃mim/MEN/nafrom her

    But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
