   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterכַלּוֹתוֹkhal/lo/TOhe finishedלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERspeakingאֶת־כׇּל־דְּבָרָיוet-kol-de/va/RAYVall his wordsבְּאׇזְנֵיbe/oz/NEin the ears ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOhe enteredאֶל־כְּפַר־נַחוּם׃el-Ke/FAR-na/CHUMinto Capernaum

   Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

   And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.

   And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

   And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

   כִּיkiforאֹהֵבo/HEVlovesעַמֵּנוּam/ME/nuour peopleהוּאhuheוְהוּאve/HUand heבָנָה־לָנוּva/NA-LA/nuhas built for usאֶת־בֵּיתet-betthe house ofהַכְּנֵסֶת׃hak/ke/NE/setassembly

   For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

   Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

   Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

   For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

   When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

    וַיָּשׁוּבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand returnedהַשְּׁלוּחִיםhash/she/lu/CHIMthose sentאֶל־הַבָּיִתel-hab/BA/yitto the houseוַיִּמְצְאוּvay/yim/tse/Uand they foundאֶת־הָעֶבֶדet-ha/E/vedthe servantהַחֹלֶהha/cho/LEthat was sickוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdנִרְפָּא׃nir/PAhe was healed

    And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passמִמׇּחֳרָתmim/mo/cho/RATon the next dayוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhhe wentאֶל־עִירel-irto a cityוּשְׁמָהּu/she/MAand its nameנָעִיםNa/IMNainוְרַבִּיםve/rab/BIMand manyמִתַּלְמִידָיוmit/tal/mi/DAYVof his disciplesהֹלְכִיםhol/KHIMgoingאִתּוֹit/TOwith himוַהֲמוֹןva/ha/MONand a crowd ofעַםampeopleרָב׃ravmany

    And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

    הוּאhuheקָרַבka/RAVdrew nearאֶל־שַׁעַרel-SHA/arto the gate ofהָעִירha/IRthe cityוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdמוֹצִיאִיםmo/tsi/IMthey were carrying outמֵתmeta dead manבֵּןbena sonיָחִידya/CHIDonlyלְאִמּוֹle/im/MOto his motherוְהִיאve/HIand she wasאַלְמָנָהal/ma/NAa widowוְעִמָּהּve/im/MAand with herרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמֵעַםme/AMof the people ofהָעִיר׃ha/IRthe city

    Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

    וְכִרְאוֹתve/khir/OTand when sawאֹתָהּo/TAherהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordנִכְמְרוּnikh/me/RUwere stirredרַחֲמָיוra/cha/MAYVhis compassionsעָלֶיהָa/LE/hafor herוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהּlato herאַל־תִּבְכִּי׃al-tiv/KIdo not weep

    And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

14. 14

    וַיִּגַּשׁvay/yig/GASHand he came nearוַיִּגַּעvay/yig/GAand touchedבַּמִּטָּהbam/mit/TAthe bierוַיַּעַמְדוּvay/ya/am/DUand stood stillהַנֹּשְׂאִיםhan/nos/IMthe bearersוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidנַעַרNA/aryoung manאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youקוּמָה׃ku/MAarise

    And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

    וַיִּתְעוֹדֵדvay/yit/o/DEDand sat upהַמֵּתham/METthe dead manוַיָּחֶלvay/YA/cheland beganלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakוַיִּתְּנֵהוּvay/yit/te/NE/huand he gave himלְאִמּוֹ׃le/im/MOto his mother

    And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

16. 16

    וּרְעָדָהu/re/a/DAand tremblingאָחֲזָהa/cha/ZAseizedכֻלָּםkhul/LAMall of themוַיְשַׁבְּחוּvay/shab/be/CHUand they praisedאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidנָבִיאna/VIa prophetגָדוֹלga/DOLgreatקָםkamhas arisenבְּקִרְבֵּנוּbe/kir/BE/nuin our midstוְהָאֱלֹהִיםve/ha/e/lo/HIMand Godפָּקַדpa/KADhas visitedאֶת־עַמּוֹ׃et-am/MOHis people

    And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

17. 17

    וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe wordהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisעָלָיוa/LAYVabout himבְּכׇל־יְהוּדָהbe/KHOL-ye/hu/DAin all Judahוּבְכׇל־הַכִּכָּר׃u/ve/KHOL-hak/kik/KARand in all the region

    And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judæa, and throughout all the region round about.

18. 18

    וְתַלְמִידֵיve/tal/mi/DEand the disciples ofיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnהִגִּידוּhig/GI/dutoldלוֹloto himאֶת־כׇּל־אֵלֶּה׃et-kol-EL/leall these things

    And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.

19. 19

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnשְׁנַיִםshe/NA/yimtwoמִתַּלְמִידָיוmit/tal/mi/DAYVof his disciplesוַיִּשְׁלָחֵםvay/yish/la/CHEMand he sent themאֶל־יֵשׁוּעַel-Ye/SHU/ato Jesusלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלוֹloto himהַאַתָּהha/at/TAare youהוּאhuheהַבָּאhab/BAwho comesאִם־נְחַכֶּהim-ne/chak/KEor shall we waitלְאַחֵר׃le/a/CHERfor another

    And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

20. 20

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand cameאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnהַמַּטְבִּילham/Mat/BILthe Baptistשְׁלָחָנוּshe/la/CHA/nusent usאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהַאַתָּהha/at/TAare youהוּאhuheהַבָּאhab/BAwho comesאִם־נְחַכֶּהim-ne/chak/KEor shall we waitלְאַחֵר׃le/a/CHERfor another

    When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

21. 21

    וְהוּאve/HUand heרִפָּאrip/PAhealedבָּעֵתba/ETat the timeהַהִיאha/HIthatרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמֵחֳלָיִיםme/cho/la/YIMfrom sicknessesוּמִנְּגָעִיםu/min/ne/ga/IMand from afflictionsוּמֵרוּחוֹתu/me/ru/CHOTand from spiritsרָעוֹתra/OTevilוּלְעִוְרִיםu/le/iv/RIMand to blindרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyנָתַןna/TANhe gaveרְאוּתre/UTthe seeing ofעֵינָיִם׃e/NA/yimeyes

    And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

22. 22

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themלְכוּle/KHUgoוְהַגִּידוּve/hag/GI/duand tellלְיוֹחָנָןle/Yo/cha/NANto Johnאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatרְאִיתֶםre/i/TEMyou have seenוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whatשְׁמַעְתֶּםshe/ma/TEMyou have heardעִוְרִיםiv/RIMthe blindרֹאִיםro/IMseeוּפִסְחִיםu/fis/CHIMand the lameמְהַלְּכִיםme/hal/le/KHIMwalkוּמְצֹרָעִיםu/me/tso/ra/IMand lepersמְטֹהָרִיםme/to/ha/RIMare cleansedוְחֵרְשִׁיםve/cher/SHIMand the deafשׁוֹמְעִיםshom/IMhearוּמֵתִיםu/me/TIMand the deadקָמִיםka/MIMariseוַעֲנִיִּיםva/a/niy/YIMand the poorמִתְבַּשְּׂרִים׃mit/bas/se/RIMreceive good news

    Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

    וְאַשְׁרֵיve/ash/REand blessed isהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹא־יִכָּשֵׁלlo-yik/ka/SHELdoes not stumbleבִּי׃bibecause of me

    And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

24. 24

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenהָלְכוּha/le/KHUhad goneשְׁלוּחֵיshe/lu/CHEthe messengers ofיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnוַיָּחֶלvay/YA/chelhe beganלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakאֶל־הֲמוֹןel-ha/MONto the crowd ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleעַל־אֹדוֹתal-o/DOTaboutיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidמַה־זֶּהma-zewhat is itיְצָאתֶםye/tsa/TEMyou went outהַמִּדְבָּרָהham/mid/BA/rainto the wildernessלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeהֲקָנֶהha/ka/NEa reedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִנּוֹעַyin/NO/ashakesבָּרוּחַ׃ba/RU/achby the wind

    And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

    אוֹoorמַה־זֶּהma-zewhat is itיְצָאתֶםye/tsa/TEMyou went outלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeהַאִישׁha/ISHa manלָבוּשׁla/VUSHclothed inבִּגְדֵיbig/DEgarments ofעֲדָנִיםa/da/NIMluxuryהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהַמְלֻבָּשִׁיםham/lub/ba/SHIMthose clothed inבִּגְדֵיbig/DEgarments ofתִפְאֶרֶתtif/E/retsplendorוְהַמְעֻנָּגִיםve/ham/un/na/GIMand those living in pleasureבְּחַצְרוֹתbe/chats/ROTin the courts ofהַמְּלָכִיםham/me/la/KHIMkingsהֵמָּה׃HEM/maare they

    But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowמַה־זֶּהma-zewhat is itיְצָאתֶםye/tsa/TEMyou went outלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeאִם־לִרְאוֹתim-lir/OTif to seeאִישׁisha manנָבִיאna/VIa prophetהֵןhenbeholdאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאַף־גָּדוֹלaf-ga/DOLeven greaterהוּאhuis heמִנָּבִיא׃min/na/VIthan a prophet

    But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

    זֶהzethisהוּאhuis heאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whomכָּתוּבka/TUVit is writtenעָלָיוa/LAYVabout himהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iשֹׁלֵחַsho/LE/achsendמַלְאָכִיmal/a/KHIMy messengerלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore youוּפִנָּהu/fin/NAand he will prepareדַרְכְּךָdar/ke/KHAyour wayלְפָנֶיךָ׃le/fa/NE/khabefore you

    This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

    כִּיkiforאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאֵיןenthere is notנָבִיאna/VIa prophetבִּילוּדֵיbi/lu/DEamong those born ofאִשָּׁהish/SHAwomanגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreaterמִיּוֹחָנָןmiy/Yo/cha/NANthan Johnהַמַּטְבִּילham/Mat/BILthe Baptistוְהַקָּטֹןve/hak/ka/TONand the leastבְּמַלְכוּתbe/mal/KHUTin the kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodיִגְדַּלyig/DALis greaterמִמֶּנּוּ׃mim/MEN/nuthan he

    For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

    וְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleהַשֹּׁמְעִיםhash/shom/IMwho heardוְהַמֹּכְסִיםve/ham/mokh/SIMand the tax collectorsהִצְדִּיקוּhits/di/KUdeclared righteousאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodוַיִּטָּבְלוּvay/yit/ta/ve/LUand were baptizedבִּטְבִילַתbit/vi/LATwith the baptism ofיוֹחָנָן׃Yo/cha/NANJohn

    And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

30. 30

    וְהַפְּרוּשִׁיםve/hap/Pe/ru/SHIMand the Phariseesוְחַכְמֵיve/chakh/MEand the wise men ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawהֵפֵרוּhe/FE/ruannulledאֶת־עֲצַתet-a/TSATthe counsel ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodעַל־נַפְשָׁםal-naf/SHAMfor themselvesוְלֹאve/LOand notנִטְבְּלוּnit/be/LUwere baptizedעַל־יָדוֹ׃al-ya/DOby him

    But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

31. 31

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordעַתָּהat/TAnowאֶל־מִיel-mito whomאֲדַמֶּהa/dam/MEshall I likenאֶת־אַנְשֵׁיet-an/SHEthe men ofהַדּוֹרhad/DORthe generationהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְאֶל־מִיve/EL-miand to whomהֵםhemare theyדֹּמִים׃do/MIMlike

    And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

32. 32

    דֹּמִיםdo/MIMlikeהֵםhemthey areלַיְלָדִיםlay/la/DIMto childrenהַיֹּשְׁבִיםhay/yosh/VIMsittingבַּשּׁוּקbash/SHUKin the marketוְקֹרְאִיםve/kor/IMand callingזֶהzethis oneאֶל־זֶהel-zeto that oneוְאֹמְרִיםve/om/RIMand sayingחִלַּלְנוּchil/lal/NUwe pipedלָכֶםla/KHEMto youבַּחֲלִילִיםba/cha/li/LIMwith flutesוְלֹאve/LOand notרִקַּדְתֶּםrik/kad/TEMyou dancedקוֹנַנּוּko/nan/NUwe lamentedלָכֶםla/KHEMto youקִינָהki/NAa lamentוְלֹאve/LOand notבְכִיתֶם׃ve/khi/TEMyou wept

    They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

    כִּיkiforבָאvacameיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnהַמַּטְבִּילham/Mat/BILthe BaptistלֶחֶםLE/chembreadלֹא־אָכַלlo-A/khaldid not eatוְיַיִןve/YA/yinand wineלֹא־שָׁתָהlo-SHA/tadid not drinkוַאֲמַרְתֶּםva/a/mar/TEMand you saidשֵׁדsheda demonבּוֹ׃bois in him

    For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

    וּבָאu/VAand cameבֶן־הָאָדָםven-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manוְהוּאve/HUand heאֹכֵלo/KHELeatsוְשֹׁתֶהve/sho/TEand drinksוַאֲמַרְתֶּםva/a/mar/TEMand you saidהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdזוֹלֵלzo/LELa gluttonוְסֹבֵאve/so/VEand a drunkardוְרֵעַve/RE/aand a friendלְמוֹכְסִיםle/mokh/SIMof tax collectorsוּלְחַטָּאִים׃u/le/chat/ta/IMand sinners

    The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

35. 35

    וְהַחׇכְמָהve/ha/chokh/MAand wisdomנִצְדְּקָהnits/de/KAis justifiedבְּכׇל־בָּנֶיהָ׃be/KHOL-ba/NE/haby all her children

    But wisdom is justified of all her children.

36. 36

    וְאֶחָדve/e/CHADand oneמִן־הַפְּרוּשִׁיםmin-Hap/pe/ru/SHIMof the Phariseesבִּקֵּשׁbik/KESHaskedמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuhimלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLto eatאִתּוֹit/TOwith himלָחֶםLA/chembreadוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameאֶל־בֵּיתel-betto the house ofהַפָּרוּשׁhap/Pa/RUSHthe Phariseeוַיַּסֵּב׃vay/yas/SEVand reclined

    And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

37. 37

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאִשָּׁהish/SHAa womanאַחַתa/CHAToneבָּעִירba/IRin the cityאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasחֹטֵאתcho/TETa sinnerכְּשָׁמְעָהּke/sha/me/Awhen she heardכִּי־הוּאki-huthat heמֵסֵבme/SEVreclinedבֵּיתbetin the house ofהַפָּרוּשׁhap/Pa/RUSHthe Phariseeוַתָּבֵאvat/ta/VEbroughtפַּךְ־מִרְקָחַת׃pakh-mir/ka/CHATa flask of ointment

    And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,

38. 38

    וַתַּעֲמֹדvat/ta/a/MODand she stoodלְרַגְלָיוle/rag/LAYVat his feetמֵאַחֲרָיוme/a/cha/RAYVbehind himוַתֵּבְךְּvat/TEVKand she weptוַתָּחֶלvat/TA/cheland beganלִרְחֹץlir/CHOTSto washאֶת־רַגְלָיוet-rag/LAYVhis feetבִּדְמָעוֹתbid/ma/OTwith tearsוַתְּנַגֵּבvat/te/nag/GEVand wipedאֹתָןo/TANthemבִּשְׂעַרbis/ARwith the hair ofרֹאשָׁהּro/SHAher headוַתִּשַּׁקvat/tish/SHAKand kissedאֶת־רַגְלָיוet-rag/LAYVhis feetוַתָּסָךְvat/ta/SAKHand anointedאֹתָןo/TANthemבַּמִּרְקַחַת׃bam/mir/KA/chatwith the ointment

    And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

39. 39

    וַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawהַפָּרוּשׁhap/Pa/RUSHthe Phariseeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoקָרָאka/RAhad invitedאֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidבְּלִבּוֹbe/lib/BOin his heartאִלּוּil/LUifהָיָהha/YAwereזֶהzethis manנָבִיאna/VIa prophetכִּי־עַתָּהki-at/TAthenיָדֹעַya/DO/aknowיָדַעya/DAhe would knowמִי־הִיאmi-hiwho isזֹאתzotthisוְאֵי־זוֹve/E-zoand what kindהִיאhishe isהַנֹּגַעַתhan/no/GA/atwho touchesבּוֹbohimכִּי־אִשָּׁהki-ish/SHAfor a womanחַטָּאָהchat/ta/Aa sinnerהִיא׃hishe is

    Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

40. 40

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonדָּבָר־לִיda/VAR-liI have a wordאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidרַבִּיrab/BIrabbiדַּבֵּר׃dab/BERspeak

    And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

41. 41

    לְנֹשֶׁהle/no/SHEto a creditorאֶחָדe/CHADoneהָיוּha/YUthere wereשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoבַעֲלֵי־חוֹבוֹתva/a/LE-cho/VOTdebtorsהָאֶחָדha/e/CHADthe oneחַיָּבchay/YAVowedלוֹloto himדִּינָרִיםdi/na/RIMdenariiחֲמֵשׁcha/MESHfiveמֵאוֹתme/OThundredוְהָאַחֵרve/ha/a/CHERand the otherדִּינָרִיםdi/na/RIMdenariiחֲמִשִּׁים׃cha/mish/SHIMfifty

    There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

42. 42

    וּמִפְּנֵיu/mip/pe/NEand becauseשֶׁלֹּאshel/LOnotהָיָהha/YAthere wasלָהֶםla/HEMto themלִפְרֹעַlif/RO/ato repayמָחַלma/CHALhe forgaveלִשְׁנֵיהֶםlish/ne/HEMto them bothוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאֱמׇר־נָאe/MOR-nasay nowמִיmiwhoמִשְּׁנֵיהֶםmish/she/ne/HEMof the two of themיֶאֱהַבye/e/HAVwill loveאֹתוֹo/TOhimיוֹתֵר׃yo/TERmore

    And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

43. 43

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidכִּמְדֻמֶּהkim/dum/MEit seemsאֲנִיa/NIto meזֶהzethis oneשֶׁמָּחַלshem/ma/CHALwhom he forgaveלוֹloto himיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיָפָהya/FArightlyדָנְתָּ׃dan/TAhave you judged

    Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

44. 44

    וַיִּפֶןvay/YI/fenand he turnedאֶל־הָאִשָּׁהel-ha/ish/SHAto the womanוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־שִׁמְעוֹןel-Shim/ONto Simonהֲרָאִיתָha/ra/I/tado you seeאֶת־הָאִשָּׁהet-ha/ish/SHAthe womanהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdבָאתִיVA/tiI cameאֶל־בֵּיתְךָel-be/te/KHAto your houseוּמַיִםu/MA/yimand waterעַל־רַגְלַיal-rag/LAYfor my feetלֹאlonotנָתַתָּna/TAT/tayou gaveוְהִיאve/HIbut sheרָחֲצָהra/cha/TSAhas washedאֶת־רַגְלַיet-rag/LAYmy feetבִּדְמָעוֹתbid/ma/OTwith tearsוַתְּנַגֵּבvat/te/nag/GEVand wiped themבִּשְׂעַרbis/ARwith the hair ofרֹאשָׁהּ׃ro/SHAher head

    And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

45. 45

    אַתָּהat/TAyouלֹאlonotנְשַׁקְתַּנִיne/shak/ta/NIyou kissed meנְשִׁיקָהne/shi/KAa kissאֶחָתe/CHAToneוְהִיאve/HIbut sheמֵאָזme/AZfrom whenבָּאתִיBA/tiI came inלֹאlonotחָדְלָהcha/de/LAhas she stoppedלְנַשֵּׁקle/nash/SHEKto kissאֶת־רַגְלָי׃et-rag/LAYmy feet

    Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

46. 46

    אַתָּהat/TAyouבְּשֶׁמֶןbe/SHE/menwith oilלֹאlonotסַכְתָּsakh/TAyou anointedאֶת־רֹאשִׁיet-ro/SHImy headוְהִיאve/HIbut sheבְּמִרְקַחַתbe/mir/KA/chatwith ointmentסָכָהsa/KHAanointedאֶת־רַגְלָי׃et-rag/LAYmy feet

    My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

47. 47

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youנִסְלְחוּnis/le/CHUare forgivenלָהּlaherחַטֹּאתֶיהָchat/to/TE/haher sinsהָרַבּוֹתha/rab/BOTmanyכִּיkiforהַרְבֵּהhar/BEmuchאָהֵבָהa/he/VAshe lovedוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whoeverנִסְלַח־לוֹnis/LACH-lois forgivenמְעַטme/ATlittleהוּאhuheאֹהֵבo/HEVlovesמְעָט׃me/ATlittle

    Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

48. 48

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herנִסְלְחוּ־לָךְnis/le/CHU-lakhare forgiven youחַטֹּאתָיִךְ׃chat/to/TA/yikhyour sins

    And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

49. 49

    וַיָּחֵלּוּvay/ya/CHEL/luand beganהַמְסֻבִּיםham/sub/BIMthose recliningעִמּוֹim/MOwith himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingבְּלִבָּםbe/lib/BAMin their heartמִיmiwhoהוּאhuisזֶהzethisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoגַּם־יִסְלַחgam-yis/LACHeven forgivesלַחֲטָאִים׃la/cha/ta/IMsins

    And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?

50. 50

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־הָאִשָּׁהel-ha/ish/SHAto the womanאֱמוּנָתֵךְe/mu/na/TEKHyour faithהוֹשִׁיעָהho/SHI/ahas savedלָּךְlakhyouלְכִיle/KHIgoלְשָׁלוֹם׃le/sha/LOMin peace

    And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
