   And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?

   And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him;

   How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themכִּיkithatבֶּן־הָאָדָםben-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manגַּם־אֲדוֹןgam-a/DONalso Lord ofהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathהוּא׃huhe

   And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּשַׁבָּתbe/shab/BATon a sabbathאַחֶרֶתa/CHE/retanotherוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOhe enteredאֶל־בֵּיתel-betinto the house ofהַכְּנֵסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyוַיְלַמֵּדvay/lam/MEDand taughtוְשָׁםve/SHAMand there wasאִישׁisha manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseיָבְשָׁהya/ve/SHAhad witheredיָדוֹya/DOhis handהַיְמָנִית׃hay/ma/NITthe right one

   And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.

   וַיֶּאֶרְבוּ־לוֹvay/ye/er/VU-loand lay in wait for himהַסּוֹפְרִיםhas/sof/RIMthe scribesוְהַפְּרוּשִׁיםve/hap/Pe/ru/SHIMand the Phariseesלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeאִם־יִרְפָּאim-yir/PAif he would healבַּשַּׁבָּתbash/shab/BATon the sabbathלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיִמְצְאוּyim/tse/Uthey might findעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst himעֲלִילֹתa/li/LOTpretexts ofדְּבָרִים׃de/va/RIMwords

   And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.

   וְהוּאve/HUbut heיָדַעya/DAknewאֶת־מַחְשְׁבוֹתָםet-mach/she/vo/TAMtheir thoughtsוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־הָאִישׁel-ha/ISHto the manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseיָבְשָׁהya/ve/SHAhad witheredיָדוֹya/DOhis handקוּםkumariseוַעֲמוֹדva/a/MODand standבַּתָּוֶךְbat/TA/vekhin the midstוַיָּקׇםvay/YA/komand he aroseוַיַּעֲמֹד׃vay/ya/a/MODand stood

   But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֶשְׁאֲלָהesh/a/LAlet me askאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouדָּבָרda/VARa thingהֲמֻתָּרha/mut/TARis it lawfulבַּשַּׁבָּתbash/shab/BATon the sabbathלְהֵיטִיבle/he/TIVto do goodאִםimorלְהָרֵעַle/ha/RE/ato do evilלְהַצִּילle/hats/TSILto deliverנֶפֶשׁNE/fesha lifeאִם־לְאַבֵּד׃im-le/ab/BEDor to destroy

   Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?

    וַיַּבֵּטvay/yab/BETand he lookedסָבִיבsa/VIVaroundאֶל־כֻּלָּםel-kul/LAMupon all of themוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָאִישׁla/ISHto the manפְּשֹׁטpe/SHOTstretch outאֶת־יָדֶךָet-ya/DE/khayour handוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didכֵּןkensoוַתֵּרָפֵאvat/te/ra/FEand was healedיָדוֹya/DOhis handוַתָּשׇׁבvat/TA/shovand returnedכָּאַחֶרֶת׃ka/a/CHE/retlike the other

    And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

    וְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyנִמְלְאוּnim/le/Uwere filled withחֵמָהche/MAwrathוַיִּוָּסְדוּvay/yiv/va/se/DUand conferredיַחַדYA/chadtogetherמַה־לַּעֲשׂוֹתma-la/a/SOTwhat to doלְיֵשׁוּעַ׃le/Ye/SHU/ato Jesus

    And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבַּיָּמִיםbay/ya/MIMin the daysהָהֵםha/HEMthoseוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand he went outהָהָרָהha/HA/rato the mountainלְהִתְפַּלֵּלle/hit/pal/LELto prayוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand he stoodכׇּל־הַלַּיְלָהkol-hal/LAY/laall the nightבַּתְּפִלָּהbat/te/fil/LAin prayerלֵאלֹהִים׃le/lo/HIMto God

    And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

    וּבִהְיֹתu/vih/YOTand when wasהַבֹּקֶרhab/BO/kerthe morningאָסַףa/SAFhe gatheredאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאֶת־תַּלְמִידָיוet-tal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesוַיִּבְחַרvay/yiv/CHARand choseמֵהֶםme/HEMfrom themשְׁנֵיםshe/NEMtwoעָשָׂרa/SARtenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomקָרָאka/RAhe calledלָהֶםla/HEMthemשְׁלִיחִים׃she/li/CHIMapostles

    And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;

    Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,

    אֵת־מַתַּיet-Mat/TAYMatthewוְאֶת־תּוֹמָאve/ET-to/MAand Thomasוְאֶת־יַעֲקֹבve/ET-ya/a/KOVand Jamesבֶּן־חַלְפַיben-Chal/FAYson of Alphaeusוְאֶת־שִׁמְעוֹןve/ET-shim/ONand Simonאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִקָּרֵאyik/ka/REis calledלוֹlohimהַקַּנָּא׃hak/Kan/NAthe Zealot

    Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphæus, and Simon called Zelotes,

    אֶת־יְהוּדָהet-Ye/hu/DAJudasאֲחִיa/CHIthe brother ofיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJamesוְאֶת־יְהוּדָהve/ET-ye/hu/DAand Judasאִישׁ־קְרִיּוֹתIsh-ke/riy/YOTIscariotוְהוּאve/HUand heאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהָיָהha/YAbecameלְמוֹסֵר׃le/mo/SERone who delivered

    And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.

    וַיֵּרֶדvay/YE/redand he came downאִתָּםit/TAMwith themוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand stoodבִּמְקוֹםbim/KOMin a place ofמִישׁוֹרmi/SHORlevel groundהוּאhuheוַהֲמוֹןva/ha/MONand a crowd ofתַּלְמִידָיוtal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesוּקְהַלu/ke/HALand an assembly ofעַםampeopleרָבravmanyמִכׇּל־יְהוּדָהmik/KOL-ye/hu/DAfrom all JudahוִירוּשָׁלַיִםVi/ru/sha/LA/yimand Jerusalemוּמֵחוֹףu/me/CHOFand from the coast ofיָם־צֹרyam-Tsorthe sea of Tyreוְצִידוֹןve/Tsi/DONand Sidonאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoבָּאוּBA/ucameלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ato hearאֹתוֹo/TOhimוּלְהֵרָפֵאu/le/he/ra/FEand to be healedמֵחָלְיֵיהֶם׃me/cha/le/ye/HEMfrom their diseases

    And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judæa and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;

18. 18

    וְגַם־הַמְעֻנִּיםve/GAM-ham/un/NIMand also those afflictedבְּרוּחוֹתbe/ru/CHOTby spiritsטְמֵאוֹתte/me/OTuncleanוַיֵּרָפֵאוּ׃vay/ye/ra/fe/Uand they were healed

    And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.

19. 19

    וְכׇל־הֶהָמוֹןve/KHOL-he/ha/MONand all the crowdמְבַקְשִׁיםme/vak/SHIMwere seekingלָגַעַתla/GA/atto touchבּוֹbohimכִּיkiforגְבוּרָהge/vu/RApowerיָצְאָהya/tse/Awent outמֵאִתּוֹme/it/TOfrom himוְרָפְאָהve/ra/fe/Aand healedאֶת־כֻּלָּם׃et-kul/LAMall of them

    And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

20. 20

    וְהוּאve/HUand heנָשָׂאna/SAliftedאֶת־עֵינָיוet-e/NAYVhis eyesאֶל־תַּלְמִידָיוel-tal/mi/DAYVto his disciplesוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאַשְׁרֵיכֶםash/re/KHEMblessed are youאַתֶּםat/TEMyouהָעֲנִיִּיםha/a/niy/YIMthe poorכִּי־לָכֶםki-la/KHEMfor to you isמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

21. 21

    אַשְׁרֵיכֶםash/re/KHEMblessed are youאַתֶּםat/TEMyouהָרְעֵבִיםha/re/e/VIMthe hungryהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayכִּיkiforתִשְׂבָּעוּtis/BA/uyou will be satisfiedאַשְׁרֵיכֶםash/re/KHEMblessed are youהַבֹּכִיםhab/bo/KHIMthose who weepהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayכִּיkiforתִשְׂחָקוּ׃tis/cha/KUyou will laugh

    Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

22. 22

    אַשְׁרֵיכֶםash/re/KHEMblessed are youאִם־יִשְׂנְאוּim-yis/ne/Uwhen shall hateאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMmenוְאִם־יְנַדּוּve/IM-ye/nad/DUand when they cast outאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוְחֵרְפוּve/cher/FUand reproachוִינָאֲצוּvi/na/a/TSUand revileאֶת־שִׁמְכֶםet-shim/KHEMyour nameכְּשֵׁםke/SHEMas a nameרָעraevilלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofבֶּן־הָאָדָם׃ben-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of man

    Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

23. 23

    שִׂמְחוּsim/CHUrejoiceבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatוּרְקֹדוּu/re/ko/DUand leapכִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdשְׂכַרְכֶםse/khar/KHEMyour rewardרַבravis greatבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenכִּי־כַדָּבָרki-khad/da/VARfor according to the thingהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisעָשׂוּa/SUdidאֲבֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/te/HEMtheir fathersלַנְּבִיאִים׃lan/ne/vi/IMto the prophets

    Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

24. 24

    אַךְ־אוֹיakh-oybut woeלָכֶםla/KHEMto youהָעֲשִׁירִיםha/a/shi/RIMthe richכִּי־כְבָרki-khe/VARfor alreadyלְקַחְתֶּםle/kach/TEMyou have receivedאֵת־נֶחָמַתְכֶם׃et-ne/cha/mat/KHEMyour consolation

    But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

25. 25

    אוֹיoywoeלָכֶםla/KHEMto youהַשְּׂבֵעִיםhas/se/ve/IMthe fullכִּיkiforתִרְעָבוּtir/a/VUyou will hungerאוֹיoywoeלָכֶםla/KHEMto youהַשֹּׂחֲקִיםhas/so/cha/KIMthose who laughהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayכִּיkiforתִתְאַבְּלוּtit/ab/be/LUyou will mournוְתִבְכּוּ׃ve/tiv/KUand weep

    Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

26. 26

    אוֹיoywoeלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאִםimwhenכׇּל־הָאֲנָשִׁיםkol-ha/a/na/SHIMall menמְשַׁבְּחִיםme/shab/be/CHIMpraiseאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouכִּיkiforכַּדָּבָרkad/da/VARlike the mannerהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisעָשׂוּa/SUdidאֲבוֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/te/HEMtheir fathersלִנְבִיאֵיlin/vi/Eto the prophets ofהַשָּׁקֶר׃hash/SHA/kerfalsehood

    Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

27. 27

    אֲבָלa/VALbutאַתֶּםat/TEMyouהַשֹּׁמְעִיםhash/shom/IMwho hearאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֶהֱבוּe/he/VUloveאֶת־אֹיְבֵיכֶםet-oy/ve/KHEMyour enemiesהֵיטִיבוּhe/TI/vudo goodלְשֹׂנְאֵיכֶם׃le/son/e/KHEMto those who hate you

    But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

28. 28

    בָּרֲכוּba/ra/KHUblessאֶת־מְקַלֲלֵיכֶםet-me/ka/la/le/KHEMthose who curse youוְהִתְפַּלֲלוּve/hit/pa/la/LUand prayבְּעַדbe/ADforמַכְאִיבֵיכֶם׃makh/i/ve/KHEMthose who despitefully use you

    Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

29. 29

    הַמַּכֶּהham/mak/KEwhoever strikesאֹתְךָot/KHAyouעַל־הַלְּחִיal-hal/le/CHIon the cheekהַטֵּה־לוֹhat/TE-loturn to himגַּםgamalsoאֶת־הָאַחֶרֶתet-ha/a/CHE/retthe otherוְהַלֹּקֵחַve/hal/lo/KE/achand from him who takesאֶת־מְעִילְךָet-me/i/le/KHAyour cloakאַל־תִּמְנַעal-tim/NAdo not withholdמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himגַּםgamalsoאֶת־כֻּתָּנְתֶּךָ׃et-kut/tan/TE/khayour tunic

    And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

30. 30

    וְכׇל־הַשֹּׁאֵלve/KHOL-hash/sho/ELand to everyone who asksמִמְּךָmim/me/KHAfrom youתֶּן־לוֹten-logive to himוְהַלֹּקֵחַve/hal/lo/KE/achand from him who takesאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthat which isלָךְlakhyoursאַל־תִּתְבַּעal-tit/BAdo not demandמֵאִתּוֹ׃me/it/TOfrom him

    Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

31. 31

    וְכַאֲשֶׁרve/kha/a/SHERand asתִּרְצוּtir/TSUyou wantשֶׁיַּעֲשׂוּshey/ya/a/SUthat should doלָכֶםla/KHEMto youבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofהָאָדָםha/a/DAMmenכֵּןkensoתַּעֲשׂוּ־לָהֶםta/a/SU-la/HEMdo you to themגַּם־אַתֶּם׃gam-at/TEMyou also

    And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

32. 32

    וְאִם־תְּאֵהֲבוּve/IM-te/e/ha/VUand if you loveאֶת־אֹהֲבֵיכֶםet-o/ha/ve/KHEMthose who love youמֶהmewhatחַסְדְּכֶםchas/de/KHEMis your kindnessכִּיkiforגַם־הַחַטָּאִיםgam-ha/chat/ta/IMeven the sinnersאֹהֲבִיםo/ha/VIMloveאֶת־אֹהֲבֵיהֶם׃et-o/ha/ve/HEMthose who love them

    For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

33. 33

    וְאִםve/IMand ifתֵּיטִיבוּte/TI/vuyou do goodלְמֵטִיבֵיכֶםle/me/ti/ve/KHEMto those who do good to youמֶהmewhatחַסְדְּכֶםchas/de/KHEMis your kindnessגַּם־הַחַטָּאִיםgam-ha/chat/ta/IMeven the sinnersיַעֲשׂוּ־כֵן׃ya/a/SU-khendo so

    And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

34. 34

    וְאִם־תַּלְווּve/IM-tal/VUand if you lend toאֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁיםet-ha/a/na/SHIMthe menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERfrom whomתְּקַוּוּte/kav/VUyou hopeלְקַבֵּלle/kab/BELto receiveמֵהֶםme/HEMfrom themמֶהmewhatחַסְדְּכֶםchas/de/KHEMis your kindnessגַּםgamevenהַחַטָּאִיםha/chat/ta/IMthe sinnersמַלְוִיםmal/VIMlendאֶת־הַחַטָּאִיםet-ha/chat/ta/IMto sinnersלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיוּשַׁבYU/shavmay be returnedלָהֶםla/HEMto themהַמִּלְוֶה׃ham/mil/VEthe loan

    And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

    אֲבָלa/VALbutאֶהֱבוּe/he/VUloveאֶת־אֹיְבֵיכֶםet-oy/ve/KHEMyour enemiesוְהֵיטִיבוּve/he/TI/vuand do goodוְהַלְווּve/hal/VUand lendוְאַלve/ALand notתְּצַפּוּte/tsap/PUexpectלְתַשְׁלוּםle/tash/LUMrepaymentוִיהִיvi/HIand will beשְׂכַרְכֶםse/khar/KHEMyour rewardרַבravgreatוִהְיִיתֶםvih/yi/TEMand you will beבְּנֵיbe/NEsons ofעֶלְיוֹןEl/YONthe Most Highכִּיkiforטוֹבtovgoodהוּאhuis Heגַּם־לִכְפוּיֵיgam-likh/fu/YEalso to the ungrateful ofטוֹבָהto/VAgoodnessוְלָרָעִים׃ve/la/ra/IMand to the evil

    But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהֱיוּhe/YUbe youרַחֲמָנִיםra/cha/ma/NIMmercifulכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasגַּם־אֲבִיכֶםgam-A/vi/KHEMalso your Fatherרַחוּםra/CHUMis mercifulהוּא׃huHe is

    Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

37. 37

    וְאַל־תִּשְׁפְּטוּve/AL-tish/pe/TUand judge notוְלֹאve/LOand notתִשָּׁפֵטוּtish/sha/fe/TUwill you be judgedאַל־תְּחַיְּבוּal-te/chay/ye/VUcondemn notוְלֹאve/LOand notתְחֻיָּבוּte/chuy/ya/VUwill you be condemnedמַחֲלוּma/cha/LUforgiveוְיִמָּחֵלve/yim/ma/CHELand it will be forgivenלָכֶם׃la/KHEMyou

    Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

38. 38

    תְּנוּte/NUgiveוְתִנָּתֵןve/tin/na/TENand it will be givenלָכֶםla/KHEMto youוּמִדָּהu/mid/DAa measureיָפָהya/FAfairדְּחוּקָהde/chu/KApressed downוּגְדוּשָׁהu/ge/du/SHAand heaped upוּמֻשְׁפָּעָהu/mush/pa/Aand overflowingיָשִׁיבוּya/SHI/vuthey will returnאֶל־חֵיקְכֶםel-che/ke/KHEMinto your bosomכִּיkiforבַמִּדָּהvam/mid/DAwith the measureאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאַתֶּםat/TEMyouמוֹדֲדִיםmo/da/DIMmeasureיִמַּדyim/MADit will be measuredלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

39. 39

    וַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand he took upמְשָׁלוֹme/sha/LOhis parableוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themהֲיוּכַלha/YU/khalcanעִוֵּרiv/VERa blind manלְהַדְרִיךְle/had/RIKHleadאֶת־הָעִוֵּרet-ha/iv/VERthe blindהֲלֹאha/LOwill notיִפְּלוּyip/pe/LUfallשְׁנֵיהֶםshe/ne/HEMboth of themאֶל־הַשָּׁחַת׃el-hash/SHA/chatinto the pit

    And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

40. 40

    אֵיןenthere is noתַּלְמִידtal/MIDdiscipleנַעֲלֶהna/a/LEraisedעַל־רַבּוֹal-rab/BOabove his masterוְדַיּוֹve/day/YOand it is enoughלְכׇל־תַּלְמִידle/KHOL-tal/MIDfor every discipleשָׁלֵםsha/LEMcompleteלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beכְּרַבּוֹ׃ke/rab/BOas his master

    The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

41. 41

    וְלָמָּהve/LAM/maand whyזֶּהzeis thisאַתָּהat/TAyouרֹאֶהro/Eseeאֶת־הַקֵּיסָםet-hak/ke/SAMthe splinterאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבְּעֵיןbe/ENin the eye ofאָחִיךָa/CHI/khayour brotherוְאֶת־הַקּוֹרָהve/ET-hak/ko/RAyet the beamבְעֵינְךָve/e/ne/KHAin your eyeלֹאlonotתַבִּיט׃tab/BITyou look at

    And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

42. 42

    וְאֵיךְve/EKHand howתֹּאמַרto/MARcan you sayאֶל־אָחִיךָel-a/CHI/khato your brotherאָחִיa/CHImy brotherהַנִּיחָהhan/NI/chaletלִּיlimeוְאָסִירve/a/SIRand I will removeאֶת־הַקֵּיסָםet-hak/ke/SAMthe splinterאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבְּעֵינֶךָbe/e/NE/khain your eyeוְאֵינְךָve/e/ne/KHAand you do notרֹאֶהro/Eseeאֶת־הַקּוֹרָהet-hak/ko/RAthe beamאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבְּעֵינֶךָbe/e/NE/khain your eyeהֶחָנֵףhe/cha/NEFhypocriteהָסֵרha/SERremoveבָּרִאשׁוֹנָהba/ri/sho/NAfirstאֶת־הַקּוֹרָהet-hak/ko/RAthe beamמֵעֵינְךָme/e/ne/KHAfrom your eyeוְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןve/a/cha/RE-khenand afterwardרָאֹהra/Oseeתִרְאֶהtir/Eyou will seeלְהָסִירle/ha/SIRto removeאֶת־הַקֵּיסָםet-hak/ke/SAMthe splinterאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבְּעֵיןbe/ENin the eye ofאָחִיךָ׃a/CHI/khayour brother

    Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

43. 43

    כִּי־עֵץki-etsfor a treeטוֹבtovgoodאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nudoes notעֹשֶׂהo/SEmakeפְּרִיpe/RIfruitנִשְׁחָתnish/CHATcorruptוְעֵץve/ETSand a treeנִשְׁחָתnish/CHATcorruptאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nudoes notעֹשֶׂהo/SEmakeפְּרִיpe/RIfruitטוֹב׃tovgood

    For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

44. 44

    כִּיkiforכׇל־עֵץkhol-etsevery treeנִכַּרnik/KARis knownבְּפִרְיוֹbe/fir/YOby its fruitכִּיkiforאֵיןenthere are noאֹסְפִיםos/FIMgatherers ofתְּאֵנִיםte/e/NIMfigsמִן־הַקֹּצִיםmin-hak/ko/TSIMfrom thornsאַףafalsoאֵין־בֹּצְרִיםen-bots/RIMno harvesters ofעֵנָבe/NAVgrapesמִן־הַסְּנֶה׃min-has/se/NEfrom the bramble

    For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

45. 45

    אִישׁisha manטוֹבtovgoodמֵאוֹצַרme/o/TSARfrom the treasure ofלִבּוֹlib/BOhis heartהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodמֵפִיקme/FIKbrings forthאֶת־הַטּוֹבet-hat/TOVthat which is goodוְאִישׁve/ISHand a manרַעraevilמֵאוֹצַרme/o/TSARfrom the treasure ofלִבּוֹlib/BOhis heartהָרַעha/RAevilמֵפִיקme/FIKbrings forthאֶת־הָרָעet-ha/RAthat which is evilכִּי־מִשִּׁפְעַתki-mish/shif/ATfor from the abundance ofלֵבlevthe heart ofאִישׁisha manיְמַלֵּלye/mal/LELspeaksפִּיהוּ׃PI/huhis mouth

    A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

46. 46

    וְלָמָּהve/LAM/maand whyזֶּהzeis thisאַתֶּםat/TEMyouקֹרְאִיםkor/IMcallלִיlimeאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordוְאֵינְכֶםve/e/ne/KHEMand you do notעֹשִׂיםo/SIMdoאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־אֲנִיet-a/SHER-a/NIthat which Iאֹמֵר׃o/MERsay

    And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

47. 47

    כׇּל־הַבָּאkol-hab/BAeveryone who comesאֵלַיe/LAYto meוְשׁוֹמֵעַve/sho/ME/aand hearsאֶת־דְּבָרַיet-de/va/RAYmy wordsוְעֹשֶׂהve/O/seand doesאֹתָםo/TAMthemאַגִּידag/GIDI will tellלָכֶםla/KHEMto youלְמִיle/MIto whomהוּאhuheדוֹמֶה׃do/MEis like

    Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

48. 48

    דּוֹמֶהdo/MElikeהוּאhuis heלְאִישׁle/ISHto a manבֹּנֶה־בַּיִתbo/NE-BA/yitbuilding a houseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֶעְמִיקhe/MIKwent deepלַחְפֹּרlach/PORto digוַיְיַסְּדוֹvay/yas/se/DOand laid its foundationעַל־הַצּוּרal-hats/TSURupon the rockוּכְבוֹאu/khe/VOand when cameהַשֵּׁטֶףhash/SHE/tefthe floodפָּרַץpa/RATSburst forthהַנַּחַלhan/NA/chalthe streamבַּבַּיִתbab/BA/yitagainst houseהַהוּאha/HUthatוְלֹאve/LOand notיָכֹלya/KHOLcouldלַהֲנִיעוֹla/ha/ni/Oto shake itכִּיkiforיֻסַּדyus/SADit was foundedעַל־הַצּוּר׃al-hats/TSURupon the rock

    He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

49. 49

    וַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERbut he whoשָׁמַעsha/MAheardוְלֹאve/LOand notעָשָׂהa/SAdidדּוֹמֶהdo/MEis likeלְאִישׁle/ISHto a manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoבָּנָהba/NAbuiltבַיִתVA/yita houseעַל־הַקַּרְקַעal-hak/kar/KAupon the groundוְאֵיןve/ENand there was notלוֹloto itיְסוֹדye/SODfoundationוַיִּפְרׇץ־בּוֹvay/yif/ROTS-boand burst against itהַנַּחַלhan/NA/chalthe streamוַיִּפֹּלvay/yip/POLand it fellפִּתְאֹםpit/OMsuddenlyוַיִּגְדַּלvay/yig/DALand great wasשֶׁבֶרSHE/verthe ruin ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseהַהוּא׃ha/HUthat

    But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
