   וְיֵשׁוּעַve/Ye/SHU/aand Jesusשָׁבshavreturnedמִן־הַיַּרְדֵּןmin-Hay/yar/DENfrom the Jordanוְהוּאve/HUand he wasמָלֵאma/LEfull ofרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁRU/ach-Hak/KO/deshthe Holy Spiritוַיּוֹלִיכֵהוּvay/yo/li/khe/HUand led himהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritהַמִּדְבָּרָה׃ham/mid/BA/rainto the wilderness

   And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

   וַיְנַסֵּהוּvay/nas/se/HUand tested himהַשָּׂטָןHas/sa/TANSatanאַרְבָּעִיםar/ba/IMfortyיוֹםyomdaysוְלֹאve/LOand notאָכַלa/KHALhe ateמְאוּמָהme/U/maanythingבַּיָּמִיםbay/ya/MIMin the daysהָהֵםha/HEMthoseוְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand afterאֲשֶׁר־תַּמּוּa/SHER-TAM/muthey were completedוַיִּרְעָב׃vay/yir/AVhe was hungry

   Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהַשָּׂטָןHas/sa/TANSatanאִםimifבֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִיםben-Ha/e/lo/HIMthe Son of Godאַתָּהat/TAyou areצַוֵּהtsav/VEcommandלָאֶבֶןla/E/venthe stoneהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוּתְהִיu/te/HIand let it becomeלְלָחֶם׃le/LA/chembread

   And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.

   וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredאֹתוֹo/TOhimיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהֵןhenbeholdכָּתוּבka/TUVit is writtenכִּיkithatלֹאlonotעַל־הַלֶּחֶםal-hal/LE/chemby breadלְבַדּוֹle/vad/DOaloneיִחְיֶהyich/YEwill liveהָאָדָםha/a/DAMthe manכִּיkibutעַל־כׇּל־מוֹצָאal-kol-mo/TSAby everything that proceeds fromפִי־יְהוָֹה׃fi-Adonaithe mouth of the LORD

   And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

   וַיַּעֲלֵהוּvay/ya/a/LE/huand brought him upהַשָּׂטָןHas/sa/TANSatanעַל־הַרal-haronto a mountainגָּבֹהַּga/VO/ahhighוַיַּרְאֵהוּvay/yar/E/huand showed himבְּרֶגַעbe/RE/gain a momentאֶחָדe/CHADoneאֵת־כׇּל־מַמְלְכוֹתet-kol-mam/le/KHOTall the kingdoms ofתֵּבֵל׃te/VELthe world

   And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהַשָּׂטָןHas/sa/TANSatanלְךָle/KHAto youאֶתֵּןet/TENI will giveאֶת־כׇּל־הַמֶּמְשָׁלָהet-kol-ham/mem/sha/LAall the dominionהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוְאֶת־כְּבוֹדָןve/ET-ke/vo/DANand their gloryכִּי־נִמְסְרָהki-nim/se/RAfor it was deliveredבְיָדִיve/ya/DIinto my handוּנְתַתִּיהָu/ne/tat/TI/haand I give itלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERto whomאֶחְפָּץ׃ech/PATSI desire

   And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

7. 7

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאִם־תִּשְׁתַּחֲוֶהim-tish/ta/cha/VEif you bow downלְפָנָיle/fa/NAYbefore meהַכֹּלhak/KOLallיִהְיֶה־לָּךְ׃yih/YE-lakhwill be yours

   If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

   וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himסֹבsovturnאֶל־אַחֲרָיel-a/cha/RAYbehind meהַשָּׂטָןHas/sa/TANSatanכִּיkiforכָתוּבkha/TUVit is writtenלַיְהוָֹהla-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godתִּשְׁתַּחֲוֶהtish/ta/cha/VEyou shall bow downוְאֹתוֹve/o/TOand Himלְבַדּוֹle/vad/DOaloneתַּעֲבֹד׃ta/a/VODyou shall serve

   And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

   וַיְבִיאֵהוּvay/vi/E/huand he brought himיְרוּשָׁלַיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemוַיַּעֲמִידֵהוּvay/ya/a/mi/de/HUand set himעַל־פִּנַּתal-pin/NATon the corner ofגַּגgagthe roof ofבֵּית־הַמִּקְדָּשׁbet-ham/mik/DASHthe house of the templeוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאִםimifבֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִיםben-Ha/e/lo/HIMthe Son of Godאַתָּהat/TAyou areנְפֹלne/FOLfallמִזֶּהmiz/ZEfrom hereמָטָּה׃MAT/tadown

   And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:

10. 10

    כִּיkiforכָתוּבkha/TUVit is writtenכִּי־מַלְאָכָיוki-mal/a/KHAYVfor His angelsיְצַוֶּה־לָּךְye/tsav/VE-lakhHe will command for youלִשְׁמׇרְךָ׃lish/mor/KHAto keep you

    For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:

11. 11

    וְכִיve/KHIand thatעַל־כַּפַּיִםal-kap/PA/yimon palmsיִשָּׂאוּנְךָyis/sa/UN/khathey will lift youפֶּן־תִּגֹּףpen-tig/GOFlest you strikeבָּאֶבֶןba/E/venagainst a stoneרַגְלֶךָ׃rag/LE/khayour foot

    And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

12. 12

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהֵןhenbeholdנֶאֱמַרne/e/MARit is saidלֹאlonotתְנַסֶּהte/nas/SEyou shall testאֵת־יְהוָֹהet-Adonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָ׃e/lo/HE/khayour God

    And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

13. 13

    וּכְכַלּוֹתu/khe/khal/LOTand when finishedהַשָּׂטָןHas/sa/TANSatanכׇּל־מַסָּהkol-mas/SAevery testingוַיִּרֶףvay/YI/refhe let goמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himעַד־עֵת׃ad-etuntil a time

    And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

14. 14

    וַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand returnedיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusבִּגְבוּרַתbig/vu/RATin the power ofהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritאֶל־הַגָּלִילel-Hag/ga/LILto Galileeוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outשׇׁמְעוֹshom/Ohis reportבְּכׇל־הַכִּכָּר׃be/KHOL-hak/kik/KARthroughout all the region

    And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

15. 15

    וְהוּאve/HUand heמְלַמֵּדme/lam/MEDwas teachingבְּבָתֵּיbe/vat/TEin the houses ofכְנִסְתָּםkhe/nis/TAMtheir assemblyוַיְהַלֲלֻהוּvay/ha/la/lu/HUand praised himכֻּלָּם׃kul/LAMall of them

    And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

16. 16

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameאֶל־נְצֶרֶתel-Ne/TSE/retto Nazarethאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereגֻּדַּל־שָׁםgud/DAL-shamhe had been raisedוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he wentכְּמִשְׁפָּטוֹke/mish/pa/TOaccording to his customבְּיוֹםbe/YOMon the day ofהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathאֶל־בֵּיתel-betto the house ofהַכְּנֵסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyוַיָּקׇםvay/YA/komand he roseלִקְרֹאlik/ROto readבַסֵּפֶר׃vas/SE/ferin the scroll

    And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

17. 17

    וַיֻּתַּן־לוֹvay/yut/TAN-loand there was given to himסֵפֶרSE/ferthe scroll ofיְשַׁעְיָהוּYe/sha/YA/huEsaiasהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetוַיִּפְתַּחvay/yif/TACHand he openedאֶת־הַסֵּפֶרet-has/SE/ferthe scrollוַיִּמְצָאvay/yim/TSAand foundאֶת־הַמָּקוֹםet-ham/ma/KOMthe placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereהָיָה־כָתוּבha/YA-kha/TUVwas writtenבּוֹ׃boin it

    And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18. 18

    רוּחַRU/achthe Spirit ofאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordעָלָיa/LAYis upon meיַעַןYA/anbecauseמָשַׁחma/SHACHHe anointedאֹתִיo/TImeלְבַשֵּׂרle/vas/SERto bring good news toעֲנָוִיםa/na/VIMthe poorשְׁלָחַנִיshe/la/CHA/niHe has sent meלַחֲבֹשׁla/cha/VOSHto bind upלְנִשְׁבְּרֵי־לֵבle/nish/be/RE-levthe brokenheartedלִקְרֹאlik/ROto proclaimלִשְׁבוּיִםlish/vu/YIMto captivesדְּרוֹרde/RORlibertyוּלְעִוְרִיםu/le/iv/RIMand to the blindפְּקַח־קוֹחַpe/KACH-KO/achopening of the eyesלְשַׁלַּחle/shal/LACHto sendרְצוּצִיםre/tsu/TSIMthe bruisedחׇפְשִׁים׃chof/SHIMfree

    The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19. 19

    לִקְרֹאlik/ROto proclaimשְׁנַת־רָצוֹןshe/NAT-ra/TSONthe year of favorלַיְהוָֹה׃la-Adonaiof the LORD

    To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20. 20

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenגָּלַלga/LALhe rolledאֶת־הַסֵּפֶרet-has/SE/ferthe scrollוַיְשִׁיבֵהוּvay/shi/VE/huand gave it backאֶל־הַחַזָּןel-ha/chaz/ZANto the attendantוַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand he sat downוְעֵינֵיve/e/NEand the eyes ofכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHERall who wereבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofהַכְּנֵסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyנְשֻׂאוֹתne/su/OTwere liftedאֵלָיו׃e/LAYVto him

    And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

21. 21

    וַיָּחֶלvay/YA/cheland he beganלֵאמֹרle/MORto sayאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayנִתְמַלֵּאnit/mal/LEis fulfilledהַכָּתוּבhak/ka/TUVscriptureהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisבְּאׇזְנֵיכֶם׃be/oz/ne/KHEMin your ears

    And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

22. 22

    וְכֻלָּםve/khul/LAMand all of themהֱעִידֻהוּhe/i/du/HUtestified of himוְתָמְהוּve/ta/me/HUand marveledעַל־דִּבְרֵיal-div/REat the words ofחֵןchengraceהַיֹּצְאִיםhay/yots/IMcoming outמִפִּיהוּmip/PI/hufrom his mouthוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהֲלֹא־זֶהha/LO-zeis this notהוּאhuheבֶּן־יוֹסֵף׃ben-Yo/SEFson of Joseph

    And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

23. 23

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themהֵןhenbeholdתֹּאמְרוּto/me/RUyou will sayלִיlito meאֶת־הַמָּשָׁלet-ham/ma/SHALthe proverbהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisרֹפֵאro/FEphysicianרְפָאre/FAhealאֶת־עַצְמֶךָet-ats/me/KHAyourselfוּכְכֹלu/khe/KHOLand as allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatשָׁמַעְנוּsha/MA/nuwe have heardשֶׁנַּעֲשָׂהshen/na/a/SAthat was doneבִּכְפַר־נַחוּםbikh/FAR-Na/CHUMin Capernaumעֲשֵׂה־כֵןa/SE-khendo soגַּם־פֹּהgam-poalso hereבְּעִירbe/IRin the city ofמוֹלַדְתֶּךָ׃mo/lad/TE/khayour birth

    And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.

24. 24

    וַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand he saidאָמֵןa/MENamenאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאֵין־נָבִיאen-na/VIthere is no prophetרָצוּיra/TSUYacceptedבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמוֹלַדְתּוֹ׃mo/lad/TOhis birth

    And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.

25. 25

    וֶאֱמֶתve/e/METand truthאַגִּידag/GIDI tellלָכֶםla/KHEMyouאַלְמָנוֹתal/ma/NOTwidowsרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyהָיוּha/YUwereבְיִשְׂרָאֵלve/Yis/ra/ELin Israelבִּימֵיbi/MEin the days ofאֵלִיָּסE/liy/YASEliasבְּהֵעָצֵרbe/he/a/TSERwhen were shutהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensשָׁלֹשׁsha/LOSHthreeשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsוְשִׁשָּׁהve/shish/SHAand sixחֳדָשִׁיםcho/da/SHIMmonthsוַיְהִיvay/HIand there wasרָעָבra/AVa famineגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatבְּכׇל־הָאָרֶץ׃be/KHOL-ha/A/retsin all the land

    But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;

26. 26

    וְאֵלִיָּסve/E/liy/YASand Eliasלֹא־נִשְׁלַחlo-nish/LACHwas not sentאֶל־אַחַתel-a/CHATto oneמֵהֵנָּהme/HEN/naof themזוּלָתִיzu/la/TIexceptצָרְפַתָהTsa/re/FA/tato Sareptaאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isלְצִידוֹןle/Tsi/DONof Sidonאֶל־אִשָּׁהel-ish/SHAto a womanאַלְמָנָה׃al/ma/NAa widow

    But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.

27. 27

    וּמְצֹרָעִיםu/me/tso/ra/IMand lepersרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyהָיוּha/YUwereבְיִשְׂרָאֵלve/Yis/ra/ELin Israelבִּימֵיbi/MEin the days ofאֱלִישָׁעE/li/SHAEliseusהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetוְלֹאve/LOand notטֹהַרto/HARwas cleansedאֶחָדe/CHADoneמֵהֶםme/HEMof themזוּלָתִיzu/la/TIexceptנַעֲמָןNa/a/MANNaamanהָאֲרַמִּי׃ha/A/ram/MIthe Syrian

    And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.

28. 28

    וְכֹלve/KHOLand allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofהַכְּנֵסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyכְּשׇׁמְעָםke/shom/AMwhen they heardאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיִּמָּלְאוּvay/yim/ma/le/Uwere filled withחֵמָה׃che/MAwrath

    And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,

29. 29

    וַיָּקוּמוּvay/ya/KU/muand they rose upוַיַּדִּיחוּvay/yad/DI/chuand droveאוֹתוֹo/TOhimאֶל־מִחוּץel-mi/CHUTSoutsideלָעִירla/IRthe cityוַיְבִיאֻהוּvay/vi/U/huand brought himעַד־גַּבad-gavto the brow ofהָהָרha/HARthe mountainאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנִבְנְתָהniv/ne/TAwas builtעִירָםi/RAMtheir cityעָלָיוa/LAYVupon itלְמַעַןle/MA/anso asהַשְׁלִיכוֹhash/li/KHOto cast himמָטָּה׃MAT/tadownward

    And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.

30. 30

    אַךְ־הוּאakh-hubut heעָבַרa/VARpassedבְּתוֹכָםbe/to/KHAMthrough their midstוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentלְדַרְכּוֹ׃le/dar/KOon his way

    But he passing through the midst of them went his way,

31. 31

    וַיֵּרֶדvay/YE/redand he went downאֶל־כְּפַר־נַחוּםel-Ke/FAR-na/CHUMto Capernaumעִירira city ofהַגָּלִילHag/ga/LILGalileeוַיְלַמְּדֵםvay/lam/me/DEMand taught themבַּשַּׁבָּתוֹת׃bash/shab/ba/TOTon the sabbaths

    And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.

32. 32

    וַיִּשְׁתּוֹמֲמוּvay/yish/to/ma/MUand they were astonishedעַל־תּוֹרָתוֹal-to/ra/TOat his teachingכִּיkiforדְּבָרde/VARa word ofשִׁלְטוֹןshil/TONauthorityדְּבָרוֹ׃de/va/ROwas his word

    And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.

33. 33

    וּבְבֵיתu/ve/VETand in the house ofהַכְּנֵסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyהָיָהha/YAwasאִישׁisha manוּבוֹu/VOand in himרוּחַRU/acha spirit ofשֵׁדsheda demonטָמֵאta/MEuncleanוַיִּזְעַקvay/yiz/AKand he cried outבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,

34. 34

    אֲהָהּa/HAahמַה־לָּנוּma-LA/nuwhat is to usוָלָךְva/LAKHand to youיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַנָּצְרִיhan/Na/tse/RIthe NazareneבָאתָVA/tahave you comeלְהַאֲבִידֵנוּle/ha/a/vi/DE/nuto destroy usיְדַעְתִּיךָye/da/TI/khaI know youמִיmiwhoאַתָּהat/TAyou areקְדוֹשׁKe/DOSHthe Holy One ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

35. 35

    וַיִּגְעַר־בּוֹvay/yig/AR-boand rebuked himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהֵאָלֵםhe/a/LEMbe silentוְצֵאve/TSEand come outמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himוַיַּפִּילֵהוּvay/yap/pi/le/HUand threw him downהַשֵּׁדhash/SHEDthe demonבְּתוֹכָםbe/to/KHAMin their midstוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand came outמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himלֹאlonotהֵרַעhe/RAharmingלוֹ׃lohim

    And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.

36. 36

    וַתִּפֹּלvat/tip/POLand fellאֵימָהe/MAdreadעַל־כֻּלָּםal-kul/LAMon all of themוַיְדַבְּרוּvay/dab/be/RUand they spokeאִישׁisha manאֶל־רֵעֵהוּel-re/E/huto his neighborלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמָהmawhat isהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe matterהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכִּי־בְשִׁלְטוֹןki-ve/shil/TONfor with authorityוּבִגְבוּרָהu/vig/vu/RAand with powerמְצַוֶּהme/tsav/VEhe commandsלְרוּחוֹתle/ru/CHOTthe spirits ofהַטֻּמְאָהhat/tum/Auncleannessוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyיֹצְאִים׃yots/IMcome out

    And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.

37. 37

    וְשׇׁמְעוֹve/shom/Oand the report of himהוֹלֵךְho/LEKHwent outבְּכׇל־מְקֹמוֹתbe/KHOL-me/ko/MOTinto all the places ofהַכִּכָּר׃hak/kik/KARthe region

    And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.

38. 38

    וַיָּקׇםvay/YA/komand he aroseמִבֵּיתmib/BETfrom the house ofהַכְּנֵסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameבֵּיתָהBE/tato the house ofשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonוְחֹתֶנֶתve/cho/TE/netand the mother-in-law ofשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonאֲחָזַתָּהa/cha/ZAT/tahad seized herקַדַּחַתkad/DA/chata feverרָעָהra/Asevereוַיִּפְגְּעוּvay/yif/ge/Uand they pleadedבוֹvowith himבַּעֲדָהּ׃ba/a/DAfor her

    And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.

39. 39

    וַיִּתְיַצֵּבvay/yit/yats/TSEVand he stoodעָלֶיהָa/LE/haover herוַיִּגְעַרvay/yig/ARand rebukedבַּקַּדַּחַתbak/kad/DA/chatthe feverוַתִּרֶףvat/TI/refand let goמִמֶּנָּהmim/MEN/naof herוַתָּקׇםvat/TA/komand she aroseמְהֵרָהme/he/RAquicklyוַתְּשָׁרֵתvat/te/sha/RETand servedאֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

    And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.

40. 40

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it wasכֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלָהֶםla/HEMhadחֹלִיםcho/LIMsickחֳלָיִיםcho/la/YIMwith sicknessesשׁוֹנִיםsho/NIMvariousוַיְבִיאוּםvay/vi/UMbrought themאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himכְּבוֹאke/VOat the setting ofהַשָּׁמֶשׁhash/SHA/meshthe sunוַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand he putאֶת־יָדָיוet-ya/DAYVhis handsעַל־כׇּל־אֶחָדal-kol-e/CHADon each oneמֵהֶםme/HEMof themוַיְרַפֵּאvay/rap/PEand healedאוֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

    Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

41. 41

    וְגַם־שֵׁדִיםve/GAM-she/DIMand also demonsיָצְאוּya/tse/Uwent outמֵרַבִּיםme/rab/BIMfrom manyוְהֵםve/HEMand theyקֹרְאִיםkor/IMcalling outוְאֹמְרִיםve/om/RIMand sayingאַתָּהat/TAyouהוּאhuareהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahבֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִיםben-Ha/e/lo/HIMthe Son of Godוַיִּגְעַר־בָּםvay/yig/AR-bamand he rebuked themוְלֹאve/LOand notנְתָנָםne/ta/NAMhe let themלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakכִּיkiforיָדְעוּya/de/Uthey knewאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהוּאhuhe isהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.

42. 42

    וּכְאוֹרu/khe/ORand at the light ofהַבֹּקֶרhab/BO/kerthe morningיָצָאya/TSAhe went outוַיֵּלֶךְ־לוֹvay/YE/lekh-loand went his wayאֶל־מְקוֹםel-me/KOMto a placeשׁוֹמֵםsho/MEMdesolateוַהֲמוֹןva/ha/MONand the crowd ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleבִּקְשֻׁהוּbik/SHU/husought himוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand cameעָדָיוa/DAYVto himוַיִּפְצְרוּ־בוֹvay/yif/tse/RU-voand they pressed himלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInotסוּרsurto departמֵהֶם׃me/HEMfrom them

    And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.

43. 43

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themהֵןhenbeholdעָלַיa/LAYit is on meלְבַשֵּׂרle/vas/SERto proclaimגַּם־לֶעָרִיםgam-le/a/RIMalso to the citiesהָאֲחֵרוֹתha/a/che/ROTotherאֶת־בְּשׂוֹרַתet-be/so/RATthe gospel ofמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodכִּיkiforלָזֹאתla/ZOTto thisשֻׁלָּחְתִּי׃shul/lach/TII was sent

    And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

44. 44

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand he wasקוֹרֵאko/REproclaimingבְּבָתֵּיbe/vat/TEin the houses ofכְנֵסֶתkhe/NE/setassemblyשֶׁבַּגָּלִיל׃sheb/Bag/ga/LILthat are in Galilee

    And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.
