    וַיַּבֵּטAnd he looked up,וַיַּרְאand sawאֶת־הָעֲשִׁירִיםthe rich menמְשִׂימִיםcastingאֶת־נִדְבוֹתָםtheir giftsבַּאֲרוֹןintoהָאוֹצָר׃the treasury.

    And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.

    וַיַּרְאAnd he sawגַּם־אַלְמָנָהalso a widowעֲנִיָּהpoorנֹתֶנֶתcasting inבּוֹthitherשְׁתֵּיtwoפְרוּטוֹת׃mites.

    And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.

    וַיֹּאמַרAnd he said,אֱמֶתOf a truthאַגִּידI sayלָכֶםunto you,כִּיthatהָאַלְמָנָהwidowהָעֲנִיָּהpoorהַזֹּאתthisנָתְנָהhath cast inיוֹתֵרmoreמִכֻּלָם׃than they all:

    And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:

    כִּיForכׇל־אֵלֶּהall theseהִתְנַדְּבוּhave cast inלֵאלֹהִיםunto the offerings of Godמֵהָעֹדֵףof the abundanceשֶׁלָּהֶםwhich is theirs,וְהִיאbut sheמִמַּחְסוֹרָהּof her penuryנָתְנָהhath cast inאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרallהָיָהthatלָהּsheלְמִחְיָה׃had to live upon.

    For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

    וַיְהִיAndבְּאׇמְרָםas some spakeלַמִּקְדָּשׁof the temple,שֶׁהוּאhow itמְהֻדָּרwas adornedבַּאֲבָנִיםwith stonesיָפוֹתgoodlyוּבְמַתָּנוֹתand gifts,וַיֹּאמַר׃he said,

    And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,

    אֵת־אֲשֶׁרthese thingsאַתֶּםyouרֹאִיםbehold,הִנֵּהlo,יָמִיםthe daysבָּאִיםwill come,וְלֹאnotתִשָּׁאֵרshall be leftאֶבֶןone stoneעַל־אֶבֶןupon another,אֲשֶׁרthatלֹאnotתִתְפָּרָק׃shall be thrown down.

    As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

    וַיִּשְׁאָלֻהוּAnd they asked him,לֵאמֹרsaying,רַבִּיMaster,מָתַיbut whenאֵפוֹאthenתִּהְיֶהshall be?זֹּאתthese thingsוּמַהand whatהוּאshall beהָאוֹתthe signלְעֵתwill there be whenהֱיוֹתָהּ׃these things shall come to pass?

    And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

    וַיֹּאמֶרAnd he said,רְאוּTake heedפֶּן־יַתְעוּthat you be not deceivedאֶתְכֶםyou:כִּיforרַבִּיםmanyיָבֹאוּshall comeבִּשְׁמִיin my name,וְאָמְרוּsaying,אֲנִיIהוּאam Christ;וְהָעֵתand the timeקְרוֹבָהdraweth near:וְאַתֶּםthereforeאַל־תֵּלְכוּgo you notאַחֲרֵיהֶם׃after them.

    And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

    וּבְשָׁמְעֲכֶםBut when you shall hear ofמִלְחָמוֹתwarsוּמְהוּמוֹתand commotions,אַל־תֵּחָתּוּbe not terrified:כִּיforהָיוֹmustתִהְיֶה־זֹּאתthese things come to passלָרִאשׁוֹנָהfirst;אַךְ־עוֹדbut notקֵץthe endלַמּוֹעֵד׃is by and by.

    But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

    וַיֹּסֶףThen said heדַּבֵּרto speakאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,לֵאמֹרsaying,גּוֹיNationעַל־גּוֹיagainst nationיָקוּםshall rise,וּמַמְלָכָהand kingdomעַל־מַמְלָכָה׃against kingdom:

    Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

    וְהָיָהAndרַעַשׁearthquakesגָּדוֹלgreatכֹּהin diversוָכֹהplaces,וְרָעָבand famines,וָדָבֶרand pestilences;וְגַם־מוֹרָאִיםand fearful sightsוְאֹתוֹתand signsגְּדֹלוֹתgreatמִן־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃shall there be from heaven.

    And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

    וְלִפְנֵיBut beforeכׇל־אֵלֶּהall these,יִשְׁלְחוּthey shall layבָכֶםon youאֶת־יְדֵיהֶםtheir hands,וְיִרְדְּפוּand persecute you,וְיִמְסְרוּdeliveringאֶתְכֶםyou upלְבָתֵּיto the houses ofכְנֵסִיּוֹתthe synagogues,וְאֶל־בָּתֵּיand into the houses ofכְלָאִיםprisons,וְתוּבְאוּbeing broughtלִפְנֵיbeforeמְלָכִיםkingsוּנְגִידִיםand rulersלְמַעַןforשְׁמִי׃my name's sake.

    But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

  13. 13

    וְהָיְתָה־זֹּאתAnd it shall turnלָכֶםto youלְעֵדוּת׃for a testimony.

    And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

  14. 14

    עַל־כֵּןthereforeשִׂימוּsettle itבְלִבְּכֶםin your hearts,לְבִלְתִּיnotהֱיוֹתto beדֹּאֲגִיםthinking beforehandבַּמֶּהwhatתִּצְטַדָּקוּ׃you shall answer:

    Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

  15. 15

    כִּיForאָנֹכִיIנֹתֵןwill giveלָכֶםyouפֶּהa mouthוְחׇכְמָהand wisdom,אֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־יוּכְלוּshall not be ableלַעֲמֹדto standלְפָנֶיהָagainst it,וּלְדַבֵּרnor to speakנֶגְדָּהּagainst it,כׇּל־מִתְקוֹמֲמֵיכֶם׃all your adversaries.

    For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

  16. 16

    וְגַם־תִּמָּסְרוּAnd you shall be betrayedעַל־יְדֵיbyיוֹלְדֵיכֶםboth parents,וַאֲחֵיכֶםand brethren,וּקְרוֹבֵיכֶםand kinsfolks,וְרֵעֵיכֶםand friends;וְיָמִיתוּand shall they cause to be put to deathמִכֶּם׃some of you.

    And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

  17. 17

    וִהְיִיתֶםAnd you shall beשְׂנוּאִיםhatedלְכׇל־אָדָםof all menלְמַעַןforשְׁמִי׃my name's sake.

    And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

  18. 18

    אַךְButלֹא־יִפֹּלthere shall not fallמִשַּׂעֲרַתan hair ofרֹאשְׁכֶםyour headאָרְצָה׃to the ground.

    But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

  19. 19

    בְּתוֹחַלְתְּכֶםIn your patienceקְנוּpossess youלָכֶםunto youאֵת־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם׃your souls.

    In your patience possess ye your souls.

  20. 20

    וְכַאֲשֶׁרAnd whenתִּרְאוּyou shall seeמַחֲנוֹתarmiesסוֹבֲבִיםcompassingאֶת־יְרוּשָׁלָיִםJerusalemיָדֹעַthenתֵּדְעוּknowכִּיthatקָרַבis nigh.חָרְבָּנָהּ׃the desolation thereof

    And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

  21. 21

    אָזThenיָנוּסוּlet them fleeאַנְשֵׁיwhich are inיְהוּדָהJudaeaאֶל־הֶהָרִיםto the mountains;וַאֲשֶׁרand let themהֵםwhichבְּתוֹכָהּare in the midst of itיֵצְאוּdepart out;וַאֲשֶׁר־בַּפְּרָזוֹתand let not them that are in the countriesאַל־יָבוֹאוּenterבָהּ׃thereinto.

    Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

  22. 22

    כִּי־יְמֵיFor these be the days ofנָקָםvengeanceהֵמָּהthese are,לְמַלֹּאתthat may be fulfilledכׇּל־הַכָּתוּב׃all things which are written.

    For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

  23. 23

    וְאוֹיBut woeלֶהָרוֹתunto them that are with child,וְלַמֵּינִיקוֹתand to them that give suck,בַּיָּמִיםin the daysהָהֵםthose!כִּיforתִהְיֶהthere shall beצָרָהdistressגְדוֹלָהgreatבָּאָרֶץin the land,וְקֶצֶףand wrathעַל־הָעָםupon peopleהַזֶּה׃this.

    But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

  24. 24

    וְנָפְלוּAnd they shall fallלְפִי־חֶרֶבby the edge of the sword,וְהָגְלוּand shall be led away captiveאֶל־כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִםinto all nations:וְהָיְתָהand shall beיְרוּשָׁלַיִםJerusalemמִרְמָסtrodden down ofלַגּוֹיִםthe Gentiles,עַדuntilאֲשֶׁר־יִמְלְאוּbe fulfilledעִתּוֹתthe times ofהַגּוֹיִם׃the Gentiles.

    And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

    וְהָיוּAnd there shall beאֹתוֹתsignsבַּשֶּׁמֶשׁin the sun,וּבַיָּרֵחַand in the moon,וּבַכּוֹכָבִיםand in the stars;וְעַל־הָאָרֶץand upon the earthמְצוּקָהdistress ofלַגּוֹיִםnations,וּמְבוּכָהwith perplexity;מֵהֶמְיַתthe roaring ofהַיָּםthe seaוּמִשְׁבָּרָיו׃and the waves;

    And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

  26. 26

    וְיִמּוֹגוּfaintingבְנֵי־הָאָדָםMen's heartsמֵאֵימָהfor fear,וּמֵחֶרְדַּתand for looking afterהַבָּאוֹתthose things which are comingעַל־כׇּל־הָאָרֶץon the earth:כִּי־חֲיָלֵיfor the powers ofהַשָּׁמַיִםheavenיִתְמוֹטָטוּ׃shall be shaken.

    Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

  27. 27

    וְאָזAnd thenיִרְאוּshall they seeאֶת־בֶּן־הָאָדָםthe Son of manבָּאcomingבֶעָנָןin a cloudבִּגְבוּרָהwith powerוּבְכָבוֹדand gloryרָב׃great.

    And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

  28. 28

    וּכְהָחֵלAnd when beginהַדְּבָרִיםthingsהָאֵלֶּהtheseלָבוֹאto come to pass,הִתְעוֹדֲדוּthen look up,וּשְׂאוּand lift upרָאשֵׁיכֶםyour heads;כִּי־קָרְבָהfor draweth nigh.גְאֻלַּתְכֶם׃your redemption

    And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

  29. 29

    וַיְדַבֵּרAnd he spakeאֲלֵיהֶםto themבְּמָשָׁלa parable;לֵאמֹרsaying,רְאוּBeholdאֶת־הַתְּאֵנָהthe fig tree,וְאֵתandכׇּל־הָעֵצִים׃all the trees;

    And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

  30. 30

    כִּי־תִרְאוּWhen you seeאֹתָםthemמוֹצִיאִיםnow shoot forthאֶת־פִּרְחָםtheir buds,הֲלֹאyouיְדַעְתֶּםknow of your own selvesכִּיthatקָרַבis now nighהַקָּיִץ׃summer.

    When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

  31. 31

    כֵּןSo likewiseגַּם־אַתֶּםyou,בִּהְיוֹתwhen you seeאֵלֶּהthese thingsלְנֶגְדְּכֶםcome to pass,דְּעוּknow youכִּיthatקְרוֹבָהis nigh at hand.מַלְכוּתthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃God

    So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

  32. 32

    אָמֵןVerilyאֹמֵרsayאֲנִיIלָכֶםunto you,לֹאnotיַעֲבֹרshall pass away,הַדּוֹרgenerationהַזֶּהThisעַדtillכִּי־יִהְיוּbe fulfilled.כׇּל־אֵלֶּה׃all

    Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

  33. 33

    הַשָּׁמַיִםHeavenוְהָאָרֶץand earthיַעֲבֹרוּshall pass away:וּדְבָרַיbut my wordsלֹאnotיַעֲבֹרוּן׃shall pass away.

    Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

  34. 34

    רַקAndהִשָּׁמְרוּtake heedלָכֶםto yourselves,פֶּן־יִכְבַּדlest be overchargedלְבַבְכֶםyour heartsבְּמִשְׁתֶּהwith surfeiting,וּבְשִׁכָּרוֹןand drunkenness,וּבְדַאֲגוֹתand cares ofהַמִּחְיָהthis life,וּבָאand comeעֲלֵיכֶםupon youהַיּוֹםdayהַהוּאthatפִּתְאֹם׃unawares.

    And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

  35. 35

    כִּיForכְּמוֹ־פַחas a snareיָבוֹאshall it comeעַלonכׇּל־הַיֹּשְׁבִיםall them that dwellעַל־פְּנֵיon the face ofכׇל־הָאָרֶץ׃the whole earth.

    For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

  36. 36

    לָכֵןtherefore,שִׁקְדוּWatch youבְּכׇל־עֵתat all times,וְהִתְפַּלָּלוּand pray,לְמַעַןthatתַּעַצְרוּ־כֹחַyou may be accounted worthyלְהִמָּלֵטto escapeמִכׇּל־אֵלֶּהall these thingsהָעֲתִידוֹתwhich shallלָבוֹאcome to pass,וְהִתְיַצַּבְתֶּםand to standלִפְנֵיbeforeבֶן־הָאָדָם׃the Son of man.

    Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

    וַיְהִיAndמְלַמֵּדhe was teachingיוֹמָםin the day timeבַּמִּקְדָּשׁin the temple;וּבַלַּיְלָהand at nightיָצָאhe went out,אֶל־הָהָרto the mountהוּאwhich isהַרthe mount ofהַזֵּיתִיםOlives,לָלוּן׃and abode.

    And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.

  38. 38

    וְכׇל־הָעָםAnd all the peopleהִשְׁכִּימוּcame early in the morningלָבוֹאto comeאֵלָיוunto himבַּמִּקְדָּשׁin the temple,לִשְׁמֹעַfor to hearאוֹתוֹ׃him.

    And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.
