   וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand enteredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORand passed throughבִּירִיחוֹ׃bI/ri/CHOthrough Jericho

   And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.

2. 2

   וְהִנֵּה־אִישׁve/hin/NE-ishand behold a manזַכַּיZak/KAYZacchaeusשְׁמוֹshe/MOhis nameוְהוּאve/HUand heמֵרָאשֵׁיme/ra/SHEof the chiefs ofהַמּוֹכְסִיםham/mokh/SIMthe tax collectorsוְעָשִׁיר׃ve/a/SHIRand rich

   And, behold, there was a man named Zacchæus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.

   וַיְבַקֵּשׁvay/vak/KESHand he soughtלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַet-Ye/SHU/aJesusמִיmiwhoהוּאhuhe isוְלֹאve/LOand notיָכֹלya/KHOLwas ableמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleכִּי־שְׁפַלki-she/FALfor lowקוֹמָהko/MAof statureהָיָה׃ha/YAhe was

   And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.

   And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.

   And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchæus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.

   וַיְמַהֵרvay/ma/HERand he hurriedוַיֵּרַדvay/ye/RADand came downוַיַּאַסְפֵהוּvay/ya/as/FE/huand he took him inבְּשִׂמְחָה׃be/sim/CHAwith joy

   And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.

   וַיִּלּוֹנוּvay/yil/LO/nuand grumbledכׇל־הָרֹאִיםkhol-ha/ro/IMall who sawלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingבָּאbahe has gone inלָלוּןla/LUNto lodgeבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofאִישׁisha manחוֹטֵא׃cho/TEsinful

   And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.

   וַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand stoodזַכַּיZak/KAYZacchaeusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־הָאָדוֹןel-ha/a/DONto the Lordהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold meאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordאֶת־מַחֲצִיתet-ma/cha/TSITthe half ofנְכָסַיne/kha/SAYmy possessionsאֲנִיa/NIIנֹתֵןno/TENgiveלָעֲנִיִּיםla/a/niy/YIMto the poorוְאִם־עָשַׁקְתִּיve/IM-a/SHAK/tiand if I have wrongedאִישׁishanyoneאָשִׁיבa/SHIVI will restoreלוֹloto himאַרְבַּעְתָּיִם׃ar/ba/TA/yimfourfold

   And Zacchæus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayהָיְתָהha/ye/TAhas comeתְשׁוּעָהte/shu/Asalvationלַבַּיִתlab/BA/yitto the houseהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERsinceבֶּן־אַבְרָהָםben-Av/ra/HAMa son of Abrahamגַּם־הוּא׃gam-huhe also

   And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

    כִּיkiforבָאvacameבֶּן־הָאָדָםben-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manלְבַקֵּשׁle/vak/KESHto seekוּלְהוֹשִׁיעַu/le/ho/SHI/aand to saveאֶת־הָאֹבֵד׃et-ha/o/VEDthe lost

    For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּשׇׁמְעָםke/shom/AMas they heardאֶת־זֹאתet-zotthisוַיֹּסֶףvay/YO/sefand he went onוַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand toldמָשָׁלma/SHALa parableכִּיkibecauseקָרַבka/RAVhe was nearלִירוּשָׁלַיִםlI/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyחֹשְׁבִיםchosh/VIMthoughtאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבִּמְהֵרָהbim/he/RAquicklyתִגָּלֶהtig/ga/LEwould be revealedמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאִישׁisha manאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִן־הָאַצִּילִיםmin-ha/ats/tsi/LIMof the noblesהָלַךְha/LAKHwentאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsinto a countryרְחוֹקָהre/cho/KAdistantלָקַחַת־לוֹla/KA/chat-loto take for himselfמַמְלָכָהmam/la/KHAa kingdomוְלָשׁוּב׃ve/la/SHUVand to return

    He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand he calledאֶל־עֲשָׂרָהel-a/sa/RAtenמֵעֲבָדָיוme/a/va/DAYVof his servantsוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand he gaveלָהֶםla/HEMthemעֲשָׂרָהa/sa/RAtenמָנִיםma/NIMminasוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themסַחֲרוּsa/cha/RUtradeבָהֶםva/HEMwith theseעַדaduntilבֹּאִי׃BO/iI come

    And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofעִירוֹi/ROhis cityשֹׂנְאִיםson/IMhatedאוֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיִּשְׁלְחוּvay/yish/le/CHUand they sentמַלְאָכִיםmal/a/KHIMmessengersאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVafter himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמָאַסְנוּma/as/NUwe refuseאוֹתוֹo/TOhimהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manמִמְּלֹךְmim/me/LOKHfrom reigningעָלֵינוּ׃a/LE/nuover us

    But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterקַחְתּוֹkach/TOhis takingאֶת־הַמַּמְלָכָהet-ham/mam/la/KHAthe kingdomוַיָּשֹׁבvay/ya/SHOVand he returnedוַיְצַוvay/TSAVand he commandedלִקְרֹאlik/ROto be calledאֶת־הָעֲבָדִיםet-ha/a/va/DIMthe servantsהָהֵםha/HEMtheseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנָתַןna/TANhe had givenלָהֶםla/HEMthemאֶת־הַכֶּסֶףet-hak/KE/sefthe moneyלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיֵדַעye/DAhe might knowמָה־הִרְוִיחַma-hir/VI/achwhat had gainedכׇּל־אֶחָדkol-e/CHADeach oneבְּמִסְחָרוֹ׃be/mis/cha/ROby his trading

    And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

16. 16

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameהָרִאשׁוֹןha/ri/SHONthe firstוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordמָנְךָma/ne/KHAyour poundהֵבִיאhe/VIhas broughtעֲשֶׂרֶתa/SE/rettenמָנִים׃ma/NIMminas

    Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.

17. 17

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהֱטִיבוֹתָhe/ti/VO/tayou have done wellלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doהָעֶבֶדha/E/vedservantהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodתַּחַתTA/chatsinceאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהָיִיתָha/YI/tayou have beenנֶאֱמָןne/e/MANfaithfulבִּמְעַטbim/ATin a littleמִזְעָרmiz/ARvery littleהֱיֵהhe/YEbeשַׁלִּיטshal/LITrulerעַל־עֶשֶׂרal-E/serover tenעָרִים׃a/RIMcities

    And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

18. 18

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NIthe secondוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordמָנְךָma/ne/KHAyour poundעָשָׂהa/SAhas madeחֲמֵשֶׁתcha/ME/shetfiveמָנִים׃ma/NIMminas

    And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.

19. 19

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidגַּם־לָזֶהgam-la/ZEalso to this oneאַף־אַתָּהaf-at/TAyou alsoהֱיֵהhe/YEbeעַל־חָמֵשׁal-cha/MESHover fiveעָרִים׃a/RIMcities

    And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.

20. 20

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameהָאַחֵרha/a/CHERanotherוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordהֵא־לְךָhe-le/KHAhere for youמָנְךָma/ne/KHAyour poundאֲשֶׁר־הָיָהa/SHER-ha/YAthat wasאֶצְלִיets/LIwith meצָרוּרtsa/RURwrappedבְּסוּדָר׃be/su/DARin a cloth

    And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:

21. 21

    מִיִּרְאָתִיmiy/yir/a/TIfor I fearedאֹתְךָot/KHAyouכִּיkibecauseאִישׁisha manקָשֶׁהka/SHEharshאָתָּהAT/taare youלֹקֵחַlo/KE/achtakingאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatלֹאlonotהִנַּחְתָּhin/nach/TAyou laid downוְקֹצֵרve/ko/TSERand reapingאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthatלֹאlonotזָרָעְתָּ׃za/ra/TAyou sowed

    For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.

22. 22

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himעַל־פִּיךָal-PI/khaby your mouthאֶשְׁפָּטְךָesh/pa/te/KHAI will judge youהָעֶבֶדha/E/vedservantהָרָעha/RAwickedאַתָּהat/TAyouיָדַעְתָּya/DA/tayou knewכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat Iאִישׁisha manקָשֶׁהka/SHEharshלֹקֵחַlo/KE/achtakingאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatלֹאlonotהִנַּחְתִּיhin/nach/TII laid downוְקוֹצֵרve/ko/TSERand reapingאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthatלֹאlonotזָרַעְתִּי׃za/ra/TII sowed

    And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:

23. 23

    וְלָמָּהve/LAM/maand whyלֹא־נָתַתָּlo-na/TAT/tadid you not giveאֶת־כַּסְפִּיet-kas/PImy moneyלַשֻּׁלְחָנִיlash/shul/cha/NIto the money changerוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iבְּבוֹאִיbe/vo/Iat my comingהָיִיתִיha/YI/tiwould haveתּוֹבֵעַto/VE/aclaimedאוֹתוֹo/TOitבְּמַרְבִּית׃be/mar/BITwith interest

    Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?

24. 24

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֶל־הָעֹמְדִיםel-ha/om/DIMto those standingשָׁםshamthereשְׂאוּse/Utakeמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himאֶת־הַמָּנֶהet-ham/ma/NEthe minaוּתְנוּu/te/NUand giveאֶל־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹel-a/SHER-loto him who hasעֲשֶׂרֶתa/SE/rettenהַמָּנִים׃ham/ma/NIMthe minas

    And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.

25. 25

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour lordיֶשׁ־לוֹyesh-lohe hasעֲשֶׂרֶתa/SE/rettenמָנִים׃ma/NIMminas

    (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)

26. 26

    הֵןhenbeholdאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכִּיkithatכׇל־אִישׁkhol-ishevery manשֶׁיֶּשׁ־לוֹshey/YESH-lowho hasיִנָּתֵןyin/na/TENwill be givenלוֹloto himוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whoeverאֵיןenthere is notלוֹloto himיֻקַּחyuk/KACHwill be takenמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himגַּםgamalsoאֶת־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ׃et-a/SHER-lowhat he has

    For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.

    אֲבָלa/VALbutאֶת־אֹיְבַיet-oy/VAYmy enemiesהָהֵםha/HEMthoseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoמְאָסוּנִיme/a/su/NIrefused meמִמְּלֹךְmim/me/LOKHfrom reigningעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMover themהָבִיאוּha/VI/ubringאֹתָםo/TAMthemהֵנָּהHEN/nahereוְהִרְגוּve/hir/GUand killאֹתָםo/TAMthemלְפָנָי׃le/fa/NAYbefore me

    But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

    וַיְכַלvay/KHALand he finishedלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERspeakingהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORand he passed onלִפְנֵיהֶםlif/ne/HEMbefore themוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upיְרוּשָׁלָיִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

    And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְקָרְבוֹve/ka/re/VOas he drew nearאֶל־בֵּית־פַּגֵּיel-Bet-pag/GEto Bethphageוּבֵית־הִינִיu/VET-hi/NIand Bethanyאֶל־הַרel-harat the mountהַנִּקְרָאhan/nik/RAcalledהַרharthe mount ofהַזֵּיתִיםHaz/ze/TIMOlivesוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand he sentשְׁנַיִםshe/NA/yimtwoמִתַּלְמִידָיו׃mit/tal/mi/DAYVof his disciples

    And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,

30. 30

    לֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלְכוּle/KHUgoאֶל־הַכְּפָרel-hak/ke/FARinto the villageאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isמִמּוּלְכֶםmim/mul/KHEMopposite youוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beבְּבוֹאֲכֶםbe/vo/a/KHEMas you enterשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereוּמְצָאתֶםu/me/tsa/TEMand you will findעַיִרA/yira coltאָסוּרa/SURtiedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatמִיָּמָיוmiy/ya/MAYVin all its daysלֹא־רָכַבlo-ra/KHAVhas not riddenעָלָיוa/LAYVon itאָדָםa/DAMmanהַתִּירוּhat/ti/RUuntieאֹתוֹo/TOitוְהָבִיאוּ׃ve/ha/VI/uand bring

    Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.

31. 31

    וְכִי־יֹאמַרve/KHI-yo/MARand if saysאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youאִישׁishanyoneלָמָּהLAM/mawhyתַתִּירֻהוּtat/ti/ru/HUare you untying itכֹּהkothusתֹאמְרוּto/me/RUyou will sayאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיַעַןYA/anbecauseכִּיkithatהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordצָרִיךְtsa/RIKHneedsלוֹ׃loit

    And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.

32. 32

    וַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand wentהַשְּׁלוּחִיםhash/she/lu/CHIMthose who were sentוַיִּמְצְאוּvay/yim/tse/Uand they foundכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasדִּבֶּרdib/BERhe had spokenאֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMto them

    And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.

    וַיַּתִּירוּvay/yat/ti/RUand they untiedאֶת־הָעָיִרet-ha/a/YIRthe coltוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themבְּעָלָיוbe/a/LAYVits ownersלָמָּהLAM/mawhyזֶּהzethisאַתֶּםat/TEMyouמַתִּירִיםmat/ti/RIMare untyingאֶת־הָעָיִר׃et-ha/a/YIRthe colt

    And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?

34. 34

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordצָרִיךְtsa/RIKHneedsלוֹ׃loit

    And they said, The Lord hath need of him.

35. 35

    וַיְבִיאֻהוּvay/vi/U/huand they brought itאֶל־יֵשׁוּעַel-Ye/SHU/ato Jesusוַיַּשְׁלִיכוּvay/yash/LI/khuand they threwאֶת־בִּגְדֵיהֶםet-big/de/HEMtheir garmentsעַל־הָעַיִרal-ha/A/yiron the coltוַיַּרְכִּיבוּvay/yar/KI/vuand they setעָלָיוa/LAYVon itאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַ׃et-Ye/SHU/aJesus

    And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.

    וּבְלֶכְתּוֹu/ve/lekh/TOand as he wentהִצִּיעוּhits/tsi/Uthey spreadאֶת־בִּגְדֵיהֶםet-big/de/HEMtheir garmentsעַל־הַדָּרֶךְ׃al-had/DA/rekhon the road

    And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.

37. 37

    וַיִּקְרַבvay/yik/RAVand he drew nearאֶל־מוֹרַדel-mo/RADto the descent ofהַרharthe mount ofהַזֵּיתִיםHaz/ze/TIMOlivesוַיָּחֵלּוּvay/ya/CHEL/luand beganכׇּל־הֲמוֹןkol-ha/MONall the crowd ofהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesלְשַׁבֵּחַle/shab/BE/achto praiseאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodבְּשִׂמְחָהbe/sim/CHAwith joyוּבְקוֹלu/ve/KOLand with a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatעַלalforכׇּל־הַגְּבוּרוֹתkol-hag/ge/vu/ROTall the mighty worksאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatרָאוּ׃ra/Uthey had seen

    And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

38. 38

    לֵאמֹרle/MORsayingבָּרוּךְba/RUKHblessedהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingהַבָּאhab/BAwho comesבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenוְכָבוֹדve/kha/VODand gloryבַּמְּרוֹמִים׃bam/me/ro/MIMin the highest

    Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

    וַאֲנָשִׁיםva/a/na/SHIMand menמִן־הַפְּרוּשִׁיםmin-Hap/pe/ru/SHIMof the Phariseesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongהָעָםha/AMthe peopleאָמְרוּa/me/RUsaidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himרַבִּיrab/BIrabbiגְּעַרge/ARrebukeבְּתַלְמִידֶיךָ׃be/tal/mi/de/KHAyour disciples

    And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.

40. 40

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאִם־אֵלֶּהim-EL/leif theseיֶחֱשׁוּye/che/SHUare silentהָאֲבָנִיםha/a/va/NIMthe stonesתִּזְעָקְנָה׃tiz/a/ke/NAwill cry out

    And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

41. 41

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenקָרַבka/RAVhe drew nearוַיַּרְאvay/YARand he sawאֶת־הָעִירet-ha/IRthe cityוַיֵּבְךְּvay/YEVKand he weptעָלֶיהָ׃a/LE/haover it

    And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,

42. 42

    לֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלוּluifיָדַעַתְּya/DA/attyou had knownגַּם־אַתְּgam-atteven youבְּעוֹדbe/ODwhile yetיוֹמֵךְyo/MEKHyour dayהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֶת־דֶּרֶךְet-DE/rekhthe way ofשְׁלוֹמֵךְshe/lo/MEKHyour peaceוְעַתָּהve/at/TAbut nowנִסְתַּרnis/TARit is hiddenמֵעֵינָיִךְ׃me/e/na/YIKHfrom your eyes

    Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

43. 43

    כִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיָמִיםya/MIMdaysבָּאִיםba/IMare comingעָלָיִךְa/LA/yikhupon youוְשָׁפְכוּve/sha/fe/KHUand will heap upאֹיְבַיִךְoy/VA/yikhyour enemiesסוֹלֲלָהso/la/LAa siege moundסְבִיבָיִךְse/vi/VA/yikharound youוְהִקִּיפוּךְve/hik/ki/FUKHand will surround youוְצָרוּve/tsa/RUand will besiegeעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhyouמִכׇּל־עֲבָרָיִךְ׃mik/KOL-a/va/ra/YIKHfrom all your sides

    For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,

44. 44

    וְהָרְסוּve/ha/re/SUand they will tear downעַד־לָאָרֶץad-la/A/retsto the groundאוֹתָךְo/TAKHyouוְאֶת־בָּנַיִךְve/ET-ba/NA/yikhand your childrenבְּקִרְבֵּךְbe/kir/BEKHwithin youוְלֹא־יַשְׁאִירוּve/LO-yash/I/ruand they will not leaveבָךְvakhin youאֶבֶןE/vena stoneעַל־אָבֶןal-A/venon a stoneעֵקֶבE/kevbecauseאֲשֶׁר־לֹאa/SHER-lothat notיָדַעַתְּya/DA/attyou knewעֵתetthe time ofפְּקֻדָּתֵךְ׃pe/kud/da/TEKHyour visitation

    And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

45. 45

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameאֶל־הַמִּקְדָּשׁel-ham/mik/DASHinto the templeוַיָּחֶלvay/YA/cheland beganלְגָרֵשׁle/ga/RESHto drive outמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereאֵת־הַמֹּכְרִיםet-ham/mokh/RIMthe sellersוְאֵתve/ETandהַקּוֹנִיםhak/ko/NIMthe buyersבּוֹ׃boin it

    And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;

46. 46

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themהֵןhenbeholdכָּתוּבka/TUVwrittenבֵּיתִיbe/TIMy houseבֵּית־תְּפִלָּהbet-te/fil/LAa house of prayerוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMbut youעֲשִׂיתֶםa/si/TEMhave madeאוֹתוֹo/TOitמְעָרַתme/a/RATa cave ofפָּרִיצִים׃pa/ri/TSIMrobbers

    Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

47. 47

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand he wasמְלַמֵּדme/lam/MEDteachingבַּמִּקְדָּשׁbam/mik/DASHin the templeיוֹםyomdayיוֹםyomdayוְרָאשֵׁיve/ra/SHEand the chiefs ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוְהַסּוֹפְרִיםve/has/sof/RIMand the scribesוְגַם־רָאשֵׁיve/GAM-ra/SHEand also the chiefs ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleבִּקְשׁוּbik/SHUsoughtלְאַבְּדוֹ׃le/ab/be/DOto destroy him

    And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,

48. 48

    וְלֹאve/LOand notמָצְאוּma/tse/Udid they findמַה־לַּעֲשׂוֹתma-la/a/SOTwhat to doכִּיkiforכׇל־הָעָםkhol-ha/AMall the peopleדָּבְקוּda/ve/KUclungאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVafter himלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ato hearאֹתוֹ׃o/TOhim

    And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
