1. 1

   וְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶל־תַּלְמִידָיוel-tal/mi/DAYVto his disciplesאָמַרa/MARhe saidאִישׁisha manעָשִׁירa/SHIRrichהָיָהha/YAthere wasוְלוֹve/LOand he hadסֹכֵןso/KHENa stewardעַל־בֵּיתוֹal-be/TOover his houseוַיַּלְשִׁינֻהוּvay/yal/shi/nu/HUand they slandered himאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himכִּי־מְפַזֵּרki-me/faz/ZERthat was scatteringהוּאhuheאֶת־קִנְיָנָיו׃et-kin/ya/NAYVhis possessions

   And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.

   וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand he calledאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidמַה־זֹּאתma-zotwhat is thisשָׁמַעְתִּיsha/MA/tiI have heardעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaabout youתֵּןtengiveחֶשְׁבּוֹןchesh/BONan account ofפְּקֻדָּתְךָpe/kud/da/te/KHAyour chargeכִּיkiforלֹאlonotתוּכַלtu/KHALcan youלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTbeעוֹדodanymoreסֹכֵןso/KHENstewardלִי׃lito me

   And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהַסּוֹכֵןhas/so/KHENthe stewardבְּלִבּוֹbe/lib/BOin his heartמָהmawhatאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEshall I doכִּי־יִקַּחki-yik/KACHfor takesאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/nifrom meאֶת־הַפְּקֻדָּהet-hap/pe/kud/DAthe chargeלַעֲדֹרla/a/DORto digלֹא־אוּכַלlo-u/KHALI cannotוְלַחֲזוֹרve/la/cha/ZORand to go aroundעַל־הַפְּתָחִיםal-hap/pe/ta/CHIMat the doorsאֲנִיa/NIIבוֹשׁ׃vosham ashamed

   Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.

   יָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowמָהmawhatאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEto doלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיַאַסְפוּנִיya/as/fu/NIthey may receive meאֶל־בָּתֵּיהֶםel-bat/te/HEMinto their housesבְּעֵתbe/ETat the timeאִםimwhenהוּסַרְתִּיhu/sar/TII am removedמִפְּקֻדָּתִי׃mip/pe/kud/da/TIfrom my charge

   I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

   וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand he calledאֶל־כׇּל־אֶחָדel-kol-e/CHADto each oneמֵהָאֲנָשִׁיםme/ha/a/na/SHIMthe menאֲשֶׁר־נָשָׁהa/SHER-na/SHAwhom lentבָהֶםva/HEMto themאֲדֹנָיוa/do/NAYVhis masterוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־הָרִאשׁוֹןel-ha/ri/SHONto the firstכַּמָּהkam/MAhow muchאַתָּהat/TAdo youחַיָּבchay/YAVoweלַאדֹנִי׃la/do/NIto my lord

   So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמֵאָה־בַתme/A-vata hundred bathsשָׁמֶןSHA/menoilוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himקַחkachtakeאֶת־שְׁטָרְךָet-she/ta/re/KHAyour bondוּמַהֵרu/ma/HERand quicklyשֵׁבshevsitוְכָתַבְתָּve/kha/tav/TAand writeחֲמִשִּׁים׃cha/mish/SHIMfifty

   And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.

   וְאֶל־אַחֵרve/EL-a/CHERand to anotherאָמַרa/MARhe saidכַּמָּהkam/MAhow muchאַתָּהat/TAdo youחַיָּבchay/YAVoweוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמְאַתme/ATa hundredכֹּרkorkors ofחִטִּיםchit/TIMwheatוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidקַחkachtakeאֶת־שְׁטָרְךָet-she/ta/re/KHAyour bondוּכְתֹבu/khe/TOVand writeשְׁמֹנִים׃she/mo/NIMeighty

   Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.

8. 8

   וַיְשַׁבַּחvay/shab/BACHand praisedהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe masterאֶת־סֹכֵןet-so/KHENthe steward ofהָעַוְלָהha/av/LAinjusticeעַל־אֲשֶׁרal-a/SHERbecauseהֶעֱרִיםhe/e/RIMhe acted shrewdlyלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doכִּיkiforבְנֵיve/NEthe children ofהָעוֹלָםha/o/LAMthe worldהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisעֲרוּמִיםa/ru/MIMmore shrewdהֵםhemare theyבְּדוֹרָםbe/do/RAMin their generationמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEthan the children ofהָאוֹר׃ha/ORlight

   And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

   וְגַם־אֲנִיve/GAM-a/NIand also Iאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youקְנוּke/NUacquireלָכֶםla/KHEMto yourselvesאֹהֲבִיםo/ha/VIMfriendsבִּמְמוֹןbim/MONwith the mammon ofהָעַוְלָהha/av/LAunrighteousnessלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיַאַסְפוּya/as/FUthey may receiveאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבְּעֵתbe/ETat the timeכְּלוֹתְכֶםke/lot/KHEMyou failאֶל־מִשְׁכְּנוֹתel-mish/ke/NOTinto the dwellings ofעוֹלָם׃o/LAMeternity

   And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

10. 10

    הַנֶּאֱמָןhan/ne/e/MANwhoever is faithfulבִּמְעַטbim/ATin a littleמִזְעָרmiz/ARsmallנֶאֱמָןne/e/MANis faithfulגַּם־בְּהַרְבֵּהgam-be/har/BEalso in muchוְהַמְעַוֵּלve/ham/av/VELand whoever is unjustבִּמְעַטbim/ATin a littleמִזְעָרmiz/ARsmallמְעַוֵּלme/av/VELis unjustגַּם־בְּהַרְבֵּה׃gam-be/har/BEalso in much

    He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאִם־בִּמְמוֹןim-bim/MONif in the mammon ofהָעַוְלָהha/av/LAunrighteousnessלֹאlonotהֱיִיתֶםhe/yi/TEMyou have beenנֶאֱמָנִיםne/e/ma/NIMfaithfulאֶת־הָעֹשֶׁרet-ha/O/sherthe richesהָאֲמִתִּיha/a/mit/TItrueמִיmiwhoיַפְקִידֶנּוּyaf/ki/den/NUwill entrust itבְּיֶדְכֶם׃be/yed/KHEMinto your hand

    If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

12. 12

    וְאִם־בַּדָּבָרve/IM-bad/da/VARand if in the thingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isלַאֲחֵרִיםla/a/che/RIMothers'לֹאlonotהֱיִיתֶםhe/yi/TEMyou have beenנֶאֱמָנִיםne/e/ma/NIMfaithfulאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhat isלָכֶםla/KHEMyoursמִיmiwhoיִתֵּןyit/TENshall giveלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

13. 13

    אֵיןennoעֶבֶדE/vedservantיָכֹלya/KHOLcanלַעֲבֹדla/a/VODserveשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoאֲדֹנִיםa/do/NIMmastersכִּיkiforיִשְׂנָאyis/NAhe will hateאֶת־הָאֶחָדet-ha/e/CHADthe oneוְיֶאֱהַבve/ye/e/HAVand loveאֶת־הָאַחֵרet-ha/a/CHERthe otherאוֹoorיִדְבַּקyid/BAKhe will clingבְּאֶחָדbe/e/CHADto the oneוְאֶת־הָאַחֵרve/ET-ha/a/CHERand the otherיִבְזֶהyiv/ZEdespiseלֹאlonotתוּכְלוּtukh/LUyou canעֲבֹדa/VODserveאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodוְאֵתve/ETandהַמָּמוֹן׃ham/ma/MONmammon

    No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

14. 14

    וַיִּשְׁמְעוּvay/yish/me/Uand heardכׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםkol-had/de/va/RIMall the wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseגַּם־הַפְּרוּשִׁיםgam-Hap/pe/ru/SHIMthe Pharisees alsoאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֵםhemthey wereאֹהֲבֵיo/ha/VEwere lovers ofכָסֶףKHA/sefsilverוַיַּלְעִיגוּvay/yal/i/GUand they mockedלוֹ׃lohim

    And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

15. 15

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאַתֶּםat/TEMyouהֵםhemare thoseהַמִּצְטַדְּקִיםham/mits/tad/de/KIMwho justify themselvesלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָאָדָםha/a/DAMmenוֵאלֹהִיםve/lo/HIMbut Godיוֹדֵעַyo/DE/aknowsאֶת־לְבַבְכֶםet-le/vav/KHEMyour heartsכִּיkiforהַגָּבֹהַּhag/ga/VO/ahwhat is exaltedבָּאָדָםba/a/DAMamong menתּוֹעֵבָהto/e/VAan abominationהוּאhuit isלִפְנֵיlif/NEin the sight ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

16. 16

    הַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawוְהַנְּבִיאִיםve/han/ne/vi/IMand the prophetsנִתְּנוּnit/te/NUwere givenעַד־יוֹחָנָןad-Yo/cha/NANuntil Johnוּמִן־אָזu/MIN-azand from thenוָהָלְאָהva/HAL/aand onבְּשׂוֹרַתbe/so/RATthe gospel ofמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdom ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodנִקְרֵאתnik/RETis proclaimedוְכׇל־אִישׁve/KHOL-ishand every manבְּיָדbe/YADby a handחֲזָקָהcha/za/KAstrongיָבוֹאya/VOentersבָהּ׃vainto it

    The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

17. 17

    אֲבָלa/VALbutנָקֵלna/KELeasierלַשָּׁמַיִםlash/sha/MA/yimfor heavenוְלָאָרֶץve/la/A/retsand earthלַעֲבֹרla/a/VORto passמֵאֲשֶׁרme/a/SHERthanיִפֹּלyip/POLshould fallקוֹץkotsa tipאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִן־הַתּוֹרָה׃min-hat/to/RAof the law

    And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

18. 18

    כׇּל־הַמְשַׁלֵּחַkol-ham/shal/LE/achwhoever sends awayאֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹet-ish/TOhis wifeוְנֹשֵׂאve/no/SEand marriesאַחֶרֶתa/CHE/retanotherנֹאֵףno/EFcommits adulteryהוּאhuheוְכׇל־הַנֹּשֵׂאve/KHOL-han/no/SEand whoever marriesאֶת־הַגְּרוּשָׁהet-hag/ge/ru/SHAthe divorced womanמֵאִישָׁהּme/i/SHAfrom her husbandנֹאֵףno/EFcommits adulteryהוּא׃huhe

    Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

19. 19

    אִישׁisha manעָשִׁירa/SHIRrichהָיָהha/YAthere wasוְהוּאve/HUand he wasלָבוּשׁla/VUSHclothed inאַרְגָּמָןar/ga/MANpurpleוָשֵׁשׁva/SHESHand fine linenוַיִּתְעַנֵּגvay/yit/an/NEGand he delighted himselfוַיִּשְׂמַחvay/yis/MACHand rejoicedיוֹםyomdayיוֹם׃yomby day

    There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20. 20

    וְאִישׁve/ISHand a manאֶבְיוֹןev/YONpoorוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameלַעְזָרLa/ZARLazarusמֻשְׁכָּבmush/KAVlaidפֶּתַחPE/tachat the door ofשַׁעַרSHA/arthe gate ofבֵּיתוֹbe/TOhis houseוְהוּאve/HUand he wasמָלֵאma/LEfull ofאֲבַעְבֻּעוֹת׃a/va/bu/OTsores

    And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21. 21

    וַיִּתְאָוvay/yit/AVand he longedלִשְׂבֹּעַlis/BO/ato be satisfiedמִן־הַפֵּרוּרִיםmin-hap/pe/ru/RIMwith the crumbsהַנֹּפְלִיםhan/nof/LIMthat fellמֵעַלme/ALfromשֻׁלְחַןshul/CHANthe table ofהֶעָשִׁירhe/a/SHIRthe rich manוְגַםve/GAMand alsoהַכְּלָבִיםhak/ke/la/VIMthe dogsבָּאוּBA/ucameוַיָּלֹקּוּvay/ya/LOK/kuand lickedאֲבַעְבֻּעוֹתָיו׃a/va/bu/o/TAYVhis sores

    And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22. 22

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenמֵתmetdiedהָאֶבְיוֹןha/ev/YONthe poor manוַיִּשָּׂאוּהוּvay/yis/sa/u/HUand carried himהַמַּלְאָכִיםham/mal/a/KHIMthe angelsאֶל־חֵיקel-chekto the bosom ofאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamוְגַם־הֶעָשִׁירve/GAM-he/a/SHIRand also the rich manמֵתmetdiedוַיִּקָּבַר׃vay/yik/ka/VARand was buried

    And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23. 23

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand he wasבִשְׁאוֹלVish/OLin Sheolוּכְאֵבוֹu/khe/e/VOand his painגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatמְאֹדme/ODveryוַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand he lifted upאֶת־עֵינָיוet-e/NAYVhis eyesוַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawאֶת־אַבְרָהָםet-Av/ra/HAMAbrahamמֵרָחוֹקme/ra/CHOKfrom afarוְאֶת־לַעְזָרve/ET-la/ZARand Lazarusבְּחֵיקוֹ׃be/che/KOin his bosom

    And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24. 24

    וַיִּצְעַקvay/yits/AKand he cried outוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאָבִיa/VImy fatherאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamחׇנֵּנִיchon/NE/nihave mercy on meוּשְׁלַח־נָאu/she/LACH-naand send nowאֶת־לַעְזָרet-La/ZARLazarusוְיִטְבֹּלve/yit/BOLand let him dipאֶת־רֹאשׁet-roshthe tip ofאֶצְבָּעוֹets/ba/Ohis fingerבַּמַּיִםbam/MA/yimin waterלְקָרֵרle/ka/RERand coolאֶת־לְשׁוֹנִיet-le/sho/NImy tongueכִּיkiforנֶעֱצַבְתִּיne/e/tsav/TII am in anguishבַּמּוֹקֵדbam/mo/KEDin the flameהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25. 25

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamבְּנִיbe/NImy sonזְכֹרze/KHORrememberכִּי־אַתָּהki-at/TAthat youלָקַחְתָּla/KACH/tayou receivedטוּבְךָtuv/KHAyour good thingsבְּחַיֶּיךָbe/chay/YE/khain your lifetimeוְלַעְזָרve/La/ZARand likewise Lazarusלָקַחla/KACHreceivedאֶת־הָרָעוֹתet-ha/ra/OTthe evilsוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהוּאhuheיְנֻחַםye/nu/CHAMis comfortedוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youבְמַעֲצֵבָה׃ve/ma/a/tse/VAin anguish

    But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26. 26

    וּמִלְּבַדu/mil/le/VADand besideכׇּל־זֹאתkol-zotall thisגֵּיאgea valleyגָדוֹלga/DOLgreatמַפְרִידmaf/RIDseparatesבֵּינֵינוּbe/NE/nubetween usוּבֵינֵיכֶםu/ve/ne/KHEMand youאֲשֶׁרa/SHERso thatלֹא־יוּכְלוּlo-yukh/LUcannotלַעֲבוֹרla/a/VORcrossהַחֲפֵצִיםha/cha/fe/TSIMthose who desireלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetgoמִפֹּהmip/POfrom hereאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youוְגַםve/GAMand alsoלֹאlonotיַעַבְרוּya/av/RUwill they crossמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereאֵלֵינוּ׃e/LE/nuto us

    And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

27. 27

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאִם־כֵּןim-kenif soאָבִיa/VImy fatherשֹׁאֵלsho/ELaskאֲנִיa/NIIמֵאִתְּךָme/it/te/KHAof youלִשְׁלֹחַlish/LO/achto sendאֹתוֹo/TOhimאֶל־בֵּיתel-betto the house ofאָבִי׃a/VImy father

    Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

28. 28

    כִּיkiforחֲמִשָּׁהcha/mish/SHAfiveאַחִיםa/CHIMbrothersלִיliI haveוְיָעֵדve/ya/EDand let him warnבָּהֶםba/HEMto themפֶּן־יָבֹאוּpen-ya/VO/ulest they comeגַם־הֵםgam-hemalso theyאֶל־מְקוֹםel-me/KOMto the place ofהַמַּעֲצֵבָהham/ma/a/tse/VAanguishהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

29. 29

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamיֵשׁyeshthere areלָהֶםla/HEMto themמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesוְהַנְּבִיאִיםve/han/ne/vi/IMand the prophetsאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיִשְׁמָעוּן׃yish/ma/UNlet them listen

    Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30. 30

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלֹא־כֵןlo-khennot soאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאָבִיa/VImy fatherכִּיkibutאִם־יָבֹאim-ya/VOif goesאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִן־הַמֵּתִיםmin-ham/me/TIMfrom the deadאָזazthenיָשׁוּבוּ׃ya/SHU/vuthey will turn

    And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31. 31

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאִם־לֹאim-loif notיִשְׁמְעוּyish/me/Uthey listenאֶל־מֹשֶׁהel-Mo/SHEMosesוְאֶל־הַנְּבִיאִיםve/EL-han/ne/vi/IMand the prophetsגַּםgamevenכִּי־יָקוּםki-ya/KUMif risesאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִן־הַמֵּתִיםmin-ham/me/TIMfrom the deadלֹאlonotיַאֲמִינוּ׃ya/a/MI/nuwill they believe

    And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
