   וְיֵשׁוּעַve/Ye/SHU/aand Jesusהָלַךְha/LAKHwentאֶל־הַרel-harto the mount ofהַזֵּיתִים׃Haz/ze/TIMOlives

   Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

2. 2

   וַיַּשְׁכֵּםvay/yash/KEMand earlyבַּבֹּקֶרbab/BO/kerin the morningוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameעוֹדodagainאֶל־הַמִּקְדָּשׁel-ham/mik/DASHinto the templeוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleבָּאוּBA/ucameאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himוַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand he satוַיְלַמְּדֵם׃vay/lam/me/DEMand taught them

   And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.

   And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,

   וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himרַבִּיrab/BIrabbiהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisנִתְפְּשָׂהnit/pe/SAwas caughtעַלalinמַעֲשֵׂהma/a/SEthe act ofנִאוּפָהּ׃ni/u/FAher adultery

   They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

   וּמֹשֶׁהu/Mo/SHEand Mosesצִוָּנוּtsiv/VA/nucommanded usבַתּוֹרָהvat/to/RAin the lawלִסְקֹלlis/KOLto stoneנָשִׁיםna/SHIMwomenכָּאֵלֶּהka/EL/lelike theseוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youמַה־תֹּאמַר׃ma-to/MARwhat do you say

   Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

   וְהֵםve/HEMand theyלְנַסּוֹתle/nas/SOTto testאֹתוֹo/TOhimדִּבְּרוּ־זֹאתdib/be/RU-zotsaid thisלִמְצֹאlim/TSOto findעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst himשִׂטְנָהsit/NAan accusationוַיִּתְכּוֹפֵףvay/yit/ko/FEFand bent downיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלְמַטָּהle/MAT/tadownוַיִּכְתֹּבvay/yikh/TOVand wroteבְּאֶצְבָּעוֹbe/ets/ba/Owith his fingerעַל־הַקַּרְקָעal-hak/kar/KAon the groundכְּלֹאke/LOas though notשָׁמַעsha/MAhe heardאֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

   This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenהוֹסִיפוּho/si/FUthey continuedלִשְׁאֹלlish/OLto askאֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand he liftedאֶת־עֵינָיוet-e/NAYVhis eyesוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themמִיmiwhoeverבָכֶםva/KHEMamong youחַףchafis cleanמִפֶּשַׁעmip/PE/shafrom transgressionהוּאhulet himיַדֶּה־בָּהּyad/DE-bathrow at herאֶבֶןE/vena stoneבָּרִאשׁוֹנָה׃ba/ri/sho/NAfirst

   So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

   And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

   And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

    When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

    וַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidלֹאlonotאֶחָדe/CHADoneאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeגַּם־אֲנִיgam-a/NII alsoלֹאlonotאַרְשִׁיעֵךְar/shi/EKHdo condemn youלְכִיle/KHIgoלְדַרְכֵּךְle/dar/KEKHon your wayוְאַלve/ALand do notתֶּחֶטְאִיte/chet/Isinעוֹד׃odagain

    She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

    וַיֹּסֶףvay/YO/sefand againיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERspokeאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאֲנִיa/NII amאוֹרorthe light ofהָעוֹלָםha/o/LAMthe worldכׇּל־הַהֹלֵךְkol-ha/ho/LEKHwhoever walksאַחֲרַיa/cha/RAYafter meלֹאlonotיִתְהַלֵּךְyit/hal/LEKHwill walkבַּחֲשֵׁכָהba/cha/she/KHAin darknessכִּי־אוֹרki-orbut the light ofהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMlifeיִהְיֶה־לּוֹ׃yih/YE-lowill he have

    Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהַפְּרוּשִׁיםhap/Pe/ru/SHIMthe Phariseesעַל־נַפְשְׁךָal-naf/she/KHAabout yourselfאַתָּהat/TAyouמֵעִידme/IDtestifyעֵדוּתְךָe/dut/KHAyour testimonyאֵינֶנָּהe/NEN/nais notנֶאֱמָנָה׃ne/e/ma/NAreliable

    The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאַףafevenאִם־אָעִידim-a/IDif I testifyעַל־נַפְשִׁיal-naf/SHIabout myselfעֵדוּתִיe/du/TImy testimonyאֱמֶתe/METis trueיַעַןYA/anbecauseאֲשֶׁר־יָדַעְתִּיa/SHER-ya/DA/tithat I knowמֵאַיִןme/A/yinfrom whereבָּאתִיBA/tiI cameוְאָנָהve/A/naand whereאֲנִיa/NIIהֹלֵךְho/LEKHgoוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMbut youלֹאlonotיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMdo you knowמֵאַיִןme/A/yinfrom whereבָּאתִיBA/tiI comeוְאָנָהve/A/naand whereאֵלֵךְ׃e/LEKHI go

    Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.

15. 15

    אַתֶּםat/TEMyouלְפִיle/FIaccording toהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARthe fleshתִּשְׁפֹּטוּtish/po/TUjudgeוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iלֹאlonotאֶשְׁפֹּטesh/POTdo I judgeאִישׁ׃ishany man

    Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

16. 16

    וְכִיve/KHIand ifאֶשְׁפֹּטesh/POTI judgeאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIמִשְׁפָּטִיmish/pa/TImy judgmentאֱמֶתe/METis trueכִּיkiforלֹאlonotלְבַדִּיle/vad/DIaloneאָנִיA/niam Iכִּיkibutאִםimonlyאֲנִיa/NIIוְהָאָבve/Ha/AVand the Fatherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoשְׁלָחָנִי׃she/la/CHA/nisent me

    And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

17. 17

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoבְּתוֹרַתְכֶםbe/to/rat/KHEMin your lawכָּתוּבka/TUVwrittenכִּיkithatעֵדוּתe/DUTthe testimony ofשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenנֶאֱמָנָהne/e/ma/NAreliableהִיא׃hiis

    It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.

18. 18

    אֲנִיa/NIIהוּאhuam heהַמֵּעִידham/me/IDwho testifiesעָלָיa/LAYabout myselfוְגַם־הָאָבve/GAM-ha/AVand also the Fatherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoשְׁלָחַנִיshe/la/CHA/nisent meיְעִידֵנִי׃ye/i/de/NItestifies about me

    I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

19. 19

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאָבִיךָA/VI/khayour Fatherאַיּוֹay/YOwhere is Heוַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusגַּם־אֹתִיgam-o/TIneither meגַּםgamnorאֶת־אָבִיet-A/VImy Fatherלֹאlonotיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMdo you knowוְלוּve/LUand ifיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMyou had knownאֹתִיo/TImeכִּיkithenעַתָּהat/TAnowגַּםgamalsoאֶת־אָבִיet-A/VImy Fatherיְדַעְתֶּם׃ye/da/TEMyou would have known

    Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

20. 20

    כַּדְּבָרִיםkad/de/va/RIMlike the wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseדִּבֶּרdib/BERhe spokeבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofהָאוֹצָרha/o/TSARthe treasuryבְּלַמְּדוֹbe/lam/me/DOas he taughtבַּמִּקְדָּשׁbam/mik/DASHin the templeוְלֹא־תְפָשׂוּve/LO-te/fa/SUand did not seizeאִישׁisha manכִּיkiforלֹא־בָאlo-vahad not comeעִתּוֹ׃it/TOhis time

    These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

21. 21

    וַיּוֹסֶףvay/YO/sefand againיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/mersaidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאֲנִיa/NIIהֹלֵךְho/LEKHam goingמִזֶּהmiz/ZEfrom hereוּתְבַקְשׁוּנִיu/te/vak/shu/NIand you will seek meוּבְחַטַּאתְכֶםu/ve/chat/ta/te/KHEMand in your sinsתָּמוּתוּta/MU/tuyou will dieאֶל־אֲשֶׁרel-a/SHERto whereאֲנִיa/NIIהֹלֵךְho/LEKHam goingשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereאַתֶּםat/TEMyouלֹא־תוּכְלוּlo-tukh/LUcannotלָבוֹא׃la/VOcome

    Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

22. 22

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsהַיְאַבֵּדhay/ab/BEDwill he destroyעַצְמוֹats/MOhimselfכִּיkibecauseאָמַרa/MARhe saidאֶל־אֲשֶׁרel-a/SHERto whereאֲנִיa/NIIהוֹלֵךְho/LEKHam goingשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereאַתֶּםat/TEMyouלֹא־תוּכְלוּlo-tukh/LUcannotלָבוֹא׃la/VOcome

    Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.

23. 23

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאַתֶּםat/TEMyouהִנְּכֶםhin/ne/KHEMareמִן־הַתַּחְתּוֹנִיםmin-hat/tach/to/NIMfrom those belowוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iמִן־הָעֶלְיוֹנִיםmin-ha/el/yo/NIMfrom those aboveאַתֶּםat/TEMyouמִן־הָעוֹלָםmin-ha/o/LAMare from the worldהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֵינֶנִּיe/NEN/niam notמִן־הָעוֹלָםmin-ha/o/LAMfrom the worldהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

24. 24

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכִּיkithatתָמוּתוּta/MU/tuyou will dieבַּחֲטָאֵיכֶםba/cha/ta/e/KHEMin your sinsכִּיkiforאִם־לֹאim-lounlessתַאֲמִינוּta/a/MI/nuyou believeכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat Iהוּאhuam heבַּחֲטָאֵיכֶםba/cha/ta/e/KHEMin your sinsתָּמוּתוּ׃ta/MU/tuyou will die

    I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמִי־זֶהmi-zewhoאָתָּהAT/taare youוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhatגַּםgamalsoמֵרֹאשׁme/ROSHfrom the beginningדִבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tiI spokeלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.

    רַבּוֹתrab/BOTmany thingsעִמִּיim/MII haveלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto sayוְלִשְׁפֹּטve/lish/POTand to judgeעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMabout youאָכֵןa/KHENbutשֹׁלְחִיshol/CHIHe who sent meנֶאֱמָןne/e/MANfaithfulהוּאhuis Heוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whatשָׁמַעְתִּיsha/MA/tiI heardמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom Himאֹתוֹo/TOitאֲדַבֵּרa/dab/BERI speakאֶל־הָעוֹלָם׃el-ha/o/LAMto the world

    I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.

    וְהֵםve/HEMtheyלֹאlonotהֵבִינוּhe/VI/nuunderstoodכִּיkithatעַל־הָאָבal-Ha/AVabout the Fatherאָמַרa/MARhe spokeאֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMto them

    They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.

    אָזazthenאָמַרa/MARsaidלָהֶםla/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusבְּעֵתbe/ETwhenתְּנַשְּׂאוּte/nas/se/Uyou lift upאֶת־בֶּן־הָאָדָםet-Ben-ha/a/DAMthe Son of manוִידַעְתֶּםvi/da/TEMthen you will knowכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat Iהוּאhuam heוְכִיve/KHIand thatאֵינֶנִּיe/NEN/niI do notעֹשֶׂהo/SEdoדָבָרda/VARa thingמִנַּפְשִׁיmin/naf/SHIof myselfכִּיkibutאִם־כַּאֲשֶׁרim-ka/a/SHERonly asלִמְּדַנִיlim/me/da/NItaught meאָבִיA/VImy FatherאֵלֶּהEL/letheseאֲדַבֵּר׃a/dab/BERI speak

    Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

    וַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand He whoשָׁלַחsha/LACHsentאֹתִיo/TImeהוּאhuisעִמָּדִיim/ma/DIwith meהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherלֹאlonotעֲזָבַנִיa/za/VA/nihas He left meלְבָדָדle/va/DADaloneכִּיkiforאֶת־הַטּוֹבet-hat/TOVwhat is goodבְּעֵינָיוbe/e/NAYVin His eyesאֲנִיa/NIIעֹשֶׂהo/SEdoתָּמִיד׃ta/MIDalways

    And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

30. 30

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּדַבְּרוֹbe/dab/be/ROas he spokeזֹאתzotthisוַיַּאֲמִינוּvay/ya/a/MI/nuand believedבוֹvoin himרַבִּים׃rab/BIMmany

    As he spake these words, many believed on him.

31. 31

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֶל־הַיְּהוּדִיםel-Hay/ye/hu/DIMto the Jewsהַמַּאֲמִינִיםham/ma/a/mi/NIMwho believedבּוֹboin himאִם־תַּעַמְדוּim-ta/am/DUif you standבִדְבָרִיvid/va/RIin my wordבֶּאֱמֶתbe/e/METtrulyתַּלְמִידִיםtal/mi/DIMdisciplesאַתֶּםat/TEMare youלִי׃lito me

    Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

32. 32

    וִידַעְתֶּםvi/da/TEMand you will knowאֶת־הָאֱמֶתet-ha/e/METthe truthוְהָאֱמֶתve/ha/e/METand the truthתַּעֲשֶׂהta/a/SEwill makeאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouחׇפְשִׁים׃chof/SHIMfree

    And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

33. 33

    וַיַּעֲנוּvay/ya/a/NUand they answeredאֹתוֹo/TOhimזֶרַעZE/rathe seed ofאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuare weוּמִיָּמֵינוּu/miy/ya/me/NUand in all our daysלֹא־הָיִינוּlo-ha/YI/nuwe have not beenלְאִישׁle/ISHto any manלַעֲבָדִיםla/a/va/DIMservantsוְאֵיכָהve/e/KHAand howתֹאמַרto/MARdo you sayחׇפְשִׁיםchof/SHIMfreeתִּהְיוּ׃tih/YUyou will be

    They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

34. 34

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredאֹתָםo/TAMthemיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאָמֵןa/MENamenאָמֵןa/MENamenאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכׇּל־עֹשֶׂהkol-o/SEeveryone who doesחֵטְאchetsinעֶבֶדE/veda servantהוּאhuisלַחֵטְא׃la/CHETto sin

    Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

35. 35

    וְהָעֶבֶדve/ha/E/vedand the servantלֹא־יִשְׁכֹּןlo-yish/KONdoes not dwellבַּבַּיִתbab/BA/yitin the houseלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverהַבֵּןhab/BENthe Sonיִשְׁכֹּןyish/KONdwellsלְעוֹלָם׃le/o/LAMforever

    And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

36. 36

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאִם־הַבֵּןim-Hab/BENif the Sonיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEmakesאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouחׇפְשִׁיםchof/SHIMfreeחׇפְשִׁיםchof/SHIMfreeבֶּאֱמֶתbe/e/METtrulyתִּהְיוּ׃tih/YUyou will be

    If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

37. 37

    I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

    I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

    וַיַּעֲנוּvay/ya/a/NUand they answeredוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאָבִינוּa/VI/nuour fatherהוּאhuisאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלוּluifהֱיִיתֶםhe/yi/TEMyou wereבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamכְּמַעֲשֵׂיke/ma/a/SElike the works ofאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamעֲשִׂיתֶם׃a/si/TEMyou would do

    They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאַתֶּםat/TEMyouמְבַקְשִׁיםme/vak/SHIMare seekingלַהֲמִיתֵנִיla/ha/mi/TE/nito kill meאֲנִיa/NIIהַאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoדִבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tihave spokenאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youהָאֱמֶתha/e/METthe truthאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatשָׁמַעְתִּיsha/MA/tiI have heardמֵעִםme/IMfromהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamלֹאlonotעָשָׂהa/SAdidכָּזֹאת׃ka/ZOTlike this

    But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

41. 41

    אֶת־מַעֲשֵׂיet-ma/a/SEthe works ofאֲבִיכֶםa/vi/KHEMyour fatherאַתֶּםat/TEMyouעֹשִׂיםo/SIMdoוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himלֹאlonotיַלְדֵיyal/DEchildren ofזְנוּנִיםze/nu/NIMfornicationאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuare weיֶשׁ־לָנוּyesh-LA/nuwe haveאָבAva Fatherאֶחָדe/CHADoneהוּאhuHe isהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

42. 42

    Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43. 43

    מַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyלֹאlonotתָבִינוּta/vi/NUdo you understandלְשׁוֹנִיle/sho/NImy speechיַעַןYA/anbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־תוּכְלוּןlo-tukh/LUNyou cannotלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ahearאֶת־דְּבָרִי׃et-de/va/RImy word

    Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44. 44

    אַתֶּםat/TEMyouמֵאֵתme/ETare fromאֲבִיכֶםa/vi/KHEMyour fatherהַשָּׂטָןHas/sa/TANSatanוְלַעֲשׂוֹתve/la/a/SOTand to doאֶת־תַּאֲוֹתet-ta/a/VOTthe desires ofאֲבִיכֶםa/vi/KHEMyour fatherחֲפַצְתֶּםcha/fats/TEMyou desireהוּאhuheרוֹצֵחַro/TSE/acha murdererהָיָהha/YAhe wasמֵרֹאשׁme/ROSHfrom the beginningוּבָאֱמֶתu/va/e/METand in the truthלֹאlonotעָמָדa/MADdid he standכִּיkibecauseאֱמֶתe/METtruthאֵין־בּוֹen-bothere is none in himמִדֵּיmid/DEwheneverדַבְּרוֹdab/be/ROhe speaksשֶׁקֶרSHE/kera lieיְדַבֵּרye/dab/BERhe speaksמִלִּבּוֹmil/lib/BOfrom his heartכִּי־מְשַׁקֵּרki-me/shak/KERfor a liarהוּאhuis heוַאֲבִיva/a/VIand the father ofהַשָּׁקֶר׃hash/SHA/kerthe lie

    Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

45. 45

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand IיַעַןYA/anbecauseדַּבְּרִיdab/be/RII speakהָאֱמֶתha/e/METthe truthלֹאlonotתַאֲמִינוּta/a/MI/nudo you believeלִי׃lime

    And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

46. 46

    מִיmiwhoבָכֶםva/KHEMof youעַל־עָוֹןal-a/VONof iniquityיוֹכִיחֵנִיyo/khi/che/NIconvicts meוְאִם־אֱמֶתve/IM-e/METand if truthדִּבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tiI have spokenמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyלֹא־תַאֲמִינוּlo-ta/a/MI/nudo you not believeלִי׃lime

    Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

47. 47

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoever isמֵאֵתme/ETofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodהוּאhuheיִשְׁמַעyish/MAhearsאֶת־דִּבְרֵיet-div/REthe words ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMyouלֹאlonotשְׁמַעְתֶּםshe/ma/TEMhave you heardבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERbecauseאֵינְכֶםe/ne/KHEMyou are notמֵאֵתme/ETofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

48. 48

    אָזazthenיַעֲנוּya/a/NUansweredהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהֲלֹאha/LOdid notהֵטַבְנוּhe/tav/NUwe do wellאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדִּבַּרְנוּdib/BAR/nuwe saidכִּיkithatשֹׁמְרוֹנִיShom/ro/NIa Samaritanאַתָּהat/TAyou areוְשֵׁדve/SHEDand a demonבָּךְ׃bakhis in you

    Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

49. 49

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusשֵׁדsheda demonאֵין־בִּיen-biis not in meרַקrakonlyאֶת־אָבִיet-A/VImy Fatherאֲנִיa/NIIמְכַבֵּדme/khab/BEDhonorוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youתִּבְזוּנִי׃tiv/zu/NIdespise me

    Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.

50. 50

    אָכֵןa/KHENbutלֹאlonotאֶדְרֹשׁed/ROSHdo I seekאֶת־כְּבוֹדִיet-ke/vo/DImy gloryיֵשׁyeshthere isאֶחָדE/CHADOneאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִדְרֹשׁyid/ROSHseeksוְיִשְׁפֹּט׃ve/yish/POTand judges

    And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

51. 51

    אָמֵןa/MENamenאָמֵןa/MENamenאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאִם־יִשְׁמֹרim-yish/MORif keepsאִישׁisha manאֶת־דְּבָרִיet-de/va/RImy wordלֹאlonotיִרְאֶה־מָּוֶתyir/E-MA/vetwill he see deathלָנֶצַח׃la/NE/tsachforever

    Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsעַתָּהat/TAnowיָדַעְנוּya/DA/nuwe knowכִּי־שֵׁדki-shedthat a demonבָּךְbakhis in youהֵןhenbeholdאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamוְהַנְּבִיאִיםve/han/ne/vi/IMand the prophetsמֵתוּME/tudiedוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youאָמַרְתָּa/MAR/tasayאִם־יִשְׁמֹרim-yish/MORif keepsאִישׁisha manאֶת־דְּבָרִיet-de/va/RImy wordלֹאlonotיִטְעַם־מָוֶתyit/AM-MA/vetwill he taste deathלָנֶצַח׃la/NE/tsachforever

    Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.

    הֲגָדוֹלha/ga/DOLgreaterאַתָּהat/TAare youמֵאַבְרָהָםme/Av/ra/HAMthan Abrahamאָבִינוּa/VI/nuour fatherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoמֵתmetdiedגַּם־הַנְּבִיאִיםgam-han/ne/vi/IMalso the prophetsמֵתוּME/tudiedמַה־תַּעֲשֶׂהma-ta/a/SEwhat do you makeעַצְמֶךָ׃ats/me/KHAof yourself

    Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאִם־אֲנִיim-a/NIif Iמְכַבֵּדme/khab/BEDhonorאֶת־נַפְשִׁיet-naf/SHImyselfכְּבוֹדִיke/vo/DImy honorמֵאָיִןme/A/yinis nothingאָבִיA/VImy FatherהוּאhuHe isהַמְכַבֵּדham/khab/BEDwho honorsאֹתִיo/TImeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomתֹּאמְרוּto/me/RUyou sayלוֹloof HimהוּאhuHe isאֱלֹהֵינוּ׃e/lo/HE/nuour God

    Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

    וְלֹאve/LOand notיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMhave you knownאֹתוֹo/TOHimוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiknow Himוְאִם־אָמַרְתִּיve/IM-a/MAR/tiand if I saidאֵינֶנִּיe/NEN/niI do notיוֹדֵעַyo/DE/aknowאֹתוֹo/TOHimאֶהְיֶהeh/YEI would beמְשַׁקֵּרme/shak/KERa liarכְּמוֹכֶםke/mo/KHEMlike youאֲבָלa/VALbutיְדַעְתִּיוye/da/TIVI know Himוְאֶת־דְּבָרוֹve/ET-de/va/ROand His wordשָׁמָרְתִּי׃sha/MAR/tiI have kept

    Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

56. 56

    אַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאֲבִיכֶםa/vi/KHEMyour fatherשָׂשׂsasexultedלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeאֶת־יוֹמִיet-yo/MImy dayוַיַּרְאvay/YARand he sawוַיִּשְׂמָח׃vay/yis/MACHand rejoiced

    Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

57. 57

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsלֹאlonotבֶּן־חֲמִשִּׁיםben-cha/mish/SHIMfiftyשָׁנָהsha/NAyears oldאָתָּהAT/taare youוְאֶת־אַבְרָהָםve/ET-av/ra/HAMand Abrahamרָאִיתָ׃ra/I/tahave you seen

    Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאָמֵןa/MENamenאָמֵןa/MENamenאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeהֱיוֹתhe/YOTwasאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאֶהְיֶה׃eh/YEI am

    Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

    Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
