   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passאַחֲרֵי־כֵןa/cha/RE-khenafter thisוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֶל־עֵבֶרel-E/verto the other side ofיָם־הַגָּלִילyam-Hag/ga/LILthe sea of Galileeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isלְטִיבַרְיָה׃le/Ti/var/YAof Tiberias

   After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.

   And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.

   וַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusעַל־הָהָרal-ha/HARup the mountainוַיֵּשֶׁב־שָׁםvay/YE/shev-shamand sat thereהוּאhuheוְתַלְמִידָיו׃ve/tal/mi/DAYVand his disciples

   And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.

   וִימֵיvi/MEand the days ofהַפֶּסַחhap/PE/sachthe Passoverחַגchagthe feast ofהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsקָרְבוּka/re/VUdrew nearלָבוֹא׃la/VOto come

   And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.

   When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

   And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

   וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredאֹתוֹo/TOhimפִּילִפּוֹסPi/lip/POSPhilipלֶחֶםLE/chembreadבְּמָאתַיִםbe/ma/TA/yimfor two hundredדִּינָרdi/NARdenariiלֹא־יִמְצָאlo-yim/TSAwill not sufficeלָקַחַתla/KA/chatto takeלָהֶםla/HEMfor themאִישׁisheachאִישׁishmanמְעָט׃me/ATa little

   Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

   One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,

   הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאִתָּנוּit/TA/nuwith usנַעַרNA/ara boyאֲשֶׁר־לוֹa/SHER-lowho hasחָמֵשׁcha/MESHfiveכִּכְּרוֹת־לֶחֶםkik/ke/ROT-LE/chemloaves of breadשְׂעֹרִיםse/o/RIMbarleyוּשְׁנֵיu/she/NEand twoדָגִיםda/GIMfishאַךְakhbutמָה־אֵלֶּהma-EL/lewhat are theseלְעַם־רַבle/AM-ravfor a people as manyכָּזֶה׃ka/ZEas this

   There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusצַוּוּtsav/VUcommandאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleלָשֶׁבֶתla/SHE/vetto sitאָרְצָהAR/tsaon the groundוִירַקVI/rakand the green ofדֶּשֶׁאDE/shegrassלָרֹבla/ROVin abundanceהָיָהha/YAwasבַּמָּקוֹםbam/ma/KOMin the placeהַהוּאha/HUthatוַיֵּשְׁבוּvay/yesh/VUand satלָאָרֶץla/A/retson the groundכַּחֲמֵשֶׁתka/cha/ME/shetabout fiveאֲלָפִיםa/la/FIMthousandאִישׁishmenבְּמִסְפָּר׃be/mis/PARin number

    And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

    And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasשָׂבְעוּsa/ve/Uthey were satisfiedוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֶל־תַּלְמִידָיוel-tal/mi/DAYVto his disciplesאִסְפוּis/FUgatherאֶת־פְּתוֹתֵיet-pe/to/TEthe pieces ofהַלֶּחֶםhal/LE/chemthe breadאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנוֹתָרוּno/ta/RUare left overלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־יֹאבַדlo-yo/VADwill not be lostמְאוּמָה׃me/U/maanything

    When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

    וַיַּאַסְפוּvay/ya/as/FUand they gatheredוַיְמַלְאוּvay/mal/Uand filledשְׁנֵים־עָשָׂרshe/NEM-a/SARtwelveסַלִּיםsal/LIMbasketsמִפְּתוֹתֵיmip/pe/to/TEwith the pieces ofחֲמֵשׁcha/MESHfiveכִּכְּרוֹת־לֶחֶםkik/ke/ROT-LE/chemloaves of breadהַשְּׂעֹרִיםhas/se/o/RIMthe barleyהַנּוֹתָרִיםhan/no/ta/RIMthat were left overלְאֹכְלֵיהֶם׃le/okh/le/HEMby those who ate

    Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּרְאוֹתkir/OTwhen sawהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menאֶת־הָאוֹתet-ha/OTthe signהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשָׂהa/SAdidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהִנֵּה־זֶהhin/NE-zebehold thisהוּאhuisבֶאֱמֶתve/e/METtrulyהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetהַבָּאhab/BAwho is comingלָעוֹלָם׃la/o/LAMinto the world

    Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

    וַיֵּדַעvay/YE/daand knewיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusכִּי־יָבֹאוּki-ya/VO/uthat they were about to comeוְיִתְפְּשׂוּve/yit/pe/SUand seizeבוֹvohimלְהַמְלִיכוֹle/ham/li/KHOto make him kingוַיִּמָּלֵטvay/yim/ma/LETand he escapedעוֹדodagainהַפַּעַםhap/PA/amthe timeאֶל־הָהָרel-ha/HARto the mountainהוּאhuhimselfלְבַדּוֹ׃le/vad/DOalone

    When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבָעֶרֶבva/E/revin the eveningוַיֵּרְדוּvay/yer/DUand went downתַלְמִידָיוtal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesאֶל־הַיָּם׃el-hay/YAMto the sea

    And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,

17. 17

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameבׇאֳנִיָּהvo/o/niy/YAinto a boatוַיַּעַבְרוּvay/ya/av/RUand crossedאֶל־עֵבֶרel-E/verto the other side ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaאֶל־כְּפַר־נַחוּםel-Ke/FAR-na/CHUMtoward Capernaumוַיְכַסvay/KHASand coveredאֹתָםo/TAMthemהַחֹשֶׁךְha/CHO/shekhthe darknessוְיֵשׁוּעַve/Ye/SHU/aand Jesusלֹא־בָאlo-vahad not comeאֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMto them

    And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.

18. 18

    וַיִּסָּעֵרvay/yis/sa/ERand stormedהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaכִּי־רוּחַki-RU/achfor a windגְּדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatהָיָתָה׃ha/YA/tathere was

    And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.

    וְהֵםve/HEMand theyחָתְרוּcha/te/RUhad rowedבְּמִשּׁוֹטֵיהֶםbe/mish/sho/te/HEMwith their oarsכְּעֶשְׂרִיםke/es/RIMabout twentyוְחָמֵשׁve/cha/MESHand fiveאוֹoorשְׁלֹשִׁיםshe/lo/SHIMthirtyרִיסrisstadiaוַיִּרְאוּvay/yir/Uand they sawאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַet-Ye/SHU/aJesusמְהַלֵּךְme/hal/LEKHwalkingעַל־הַיָּםal-hay/YAMon the seaהָלוֹךְha/LOKHgoingוְקָרֵבve/ka/REVand drawing nearאֶל־הׇאֳנִיָּהel-ho/o/niy/YAto the boatוַיִּירָאוּ׃vay/yi/RA/uand they were afraid

    So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאֲנִיa/NIIהוּאhuam heאַל־תִּירָאוּ׃al-ti/RA/udo not fear

    But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.

21. 21

    וַיּוֹאִילוּvay/yo/i/LUand they were willingלָקַחַתla/KA/chatto takeאֹתוֹo/TOhimאֶל־תּוֹךְel-tokhintoהׇאֳנִיָּהho/o/niy/YAthe boatוּכְרֶגַעu/khe/RE/gaand at onceהִגִּיעָהhig/gi/Aarrivedהׇאֳנִיָּהho/o/niy/YAthe boatלָאָרֶץla/A/retsat the landאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהֵםhemtheyהֹלְכִיםhol/KHIMwere goingשָׁמָּה׃SHAM/mathere

    Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.

22. 22

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passמִמׇּחֳרָתmim/mo/cho/RATon the next dayוַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawהֲמוֹןha/MONthe crowd ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleהָעֹמֵדha/o/MEDstandingמֵעֵבֶרme/E/veron the other side ofלַיָּםlay/YAMthe seaכִּיkithatאֵיןenthere was noשָׁםshamthereאֳנִיָּהo/niy/YAboatכִּיkiexceptאִם־אַחַתim-a/CHATonly oneאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיָרְדוּ־בָהּya/re/DU-vahad gone down into itתַּלְמִידָיוtal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesוְכִיve/KHIand thatיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלֹא־יָרַדlo-ya/RADhad not gone downעִם־תַּלְמִידָיוim-tal/mi/DAYVwith his disciplesבׇּאֳנִיָּהbo/o/niy/YAinto the boatאַךְakhbutתַּלְמִידָיוtal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesלְבַדָּםle/vad/DAMaloneנָסְעוּna/se/Uhad set outמִזֶּה׃miz/ZEfrom here

    The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone;

    וׇאֳנִיּוֹתvo/o/niy/YOTand boatsאֲחֵרוֹתa/che/ROTotherבָּאוֹתba/OTcameמִטִּיבַרְיָהmit/Ti/var/YAfrom Tiberiasקָרְבוּka/re/VUnearאֶלeltoהַמָּקוֹםham/ma/KOMthe placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereאָכְלוּ־שָׁםa/khe/LU-shamthey ateאֶת־הַלֶּחֶםet-hal/LE/chemthe breadאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהוֹדוֹתho/DOThad given thanksהָאָדוֹן׃ha/a/DONthe Lord

    (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּרְאוֹתkir/OTwhen sawהֲמוֹןha/MONthe crowd ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleכִּיkithatאֵיןenwas notיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusשָׁםshamthereאַף־לֹאaf-lonorתַלְמִידָיוtal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesוַיֵּרְדוּvay/yer/DUand went downגַם־הֵםgam-hemthey alsoבׇּאֳנִיּוֹתbo/o/niy/YOTinto the boatsוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֶל־כְּפַר־נַחוּםel-Ke/FAR-na/CHUMto Capernaumלְבַקֵּשׁle/vak/KESHseekingאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַ׃et-Ye/SHU/aJesus

    When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.

    וַיִּמְצְאוּvay/yim/tse/Uand they foundאֹתוֹo/TOhimמֵעֵבֶרme/E/veron the other side ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himרַבִּיrab/BIrabbiמָתַיma/TAYwhenבָּאתָBA/tadid you comeהֲלֹם׃ha/LOMhere

    And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

26. 26

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredאֹתָםo/TAMthemיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאָמֵןa/MENamenאָמֵןa/MENamenאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youלֹאlonotעַל־רְאוֹתְכֶםal-re/ot/KHEMbecause you sawאֶת־הָאֹתוֹתet-ha/o/TOTthe signsתְּבַקְשׁוּנִיte/vak/shu/NIdo you seek meכִּיkibutעַל־אֲשֶׁרal-a/SHERbecauseאֲכַלְתֶּםa/khal/TEMyou ateמִן־הַלֶּחֶםmin-hal/LE/chemof the loavesוַתִּשְׂבָּעוּ׃vat/tis/BA/uand were satisfied

    Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

    אַל־תַּעַמְלוּal-ta/am/LUdo not laborבַּמַּאֲכָלbam/ma/a/KHALfor the foodהָאֹבֵדha/o/VEDthat perishesכִּיkibutאִם־בַּמַּאֲכָלim-bam/ma/a/KHALonly for the foodהַקַּיָּםhak/kay/YAMthat enduresלְחַיֵּיle/chay/YEto the life ofעוֹלָםo/LAMeternityאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבֶּן־הָאָדָםben-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manיִתְּנֶנּוּyit/te/NEN/nuwill give itלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכִּי־אֹתוֹki-o/TOfor himחָתַםcha/TAMhas sealedאָבִיוA/VIVhis Fatherהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבְּחוֹתָמוֹ׃be/cho/ta/MOwith His seal

    Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמַה־נַּעֲשֶׂהma-na/a/SEwhat shall we doלִפְעֹלlif/OLto workפְּעֻלּוֹתpe/ul/LOTthe works ofאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

29. 29

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themזֹאתzotthis isפְּעֻלַּתpe/ul/LATthe work ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֲשֶׁר־תַּאֲמִינוּa/SHER-ta/a/MI/nuthat you believeבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERin him whomהוּאhuHeשְׁלָחוֹ׃she/la/CHOsent

    Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמָה־הָאוֹתma-ha/OTwhat signאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתַּעֲשֶׂהta/a/SEyou doלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatנִרְאֶהnir/Ewe may seeוְנַאֲמִיןve/na/a/MINand believeלָךְlakhyouמַה־תִּפְעָל׃ma-tif/ALwhat do you work

    They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

31. 31

    אֲבוֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersאָכְלוּa/khe/LUateאֶת־הַמָּןet-ham/MANthe mannaבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessכַּכָּתוּבkak/ka/TUVas it is writtenלֶחֶםLE/chembreadמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenנָתַן־לָמוֹna/TAN-LA/moHe gave themלֶאֱכֹל׃le/e/KHOLto eat

    Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאָמֵןa/MENamenאָמֵןa/MENamenאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youלֹאlonotמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesנָתַןna/TANgaveלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאֶת־הַלֶּחֶםet-hal/LE/chemthe breadמִן־הַשָּׁמָיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenכִּי־אָבִיki-A/VIbut my Fatherנֹתֵןno/TENgivesלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאֶת־הַלֶּחֶםet-hal/LE/chemthe breadמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenהָאֲמִתִּי׃ha/a/mit/TIthe true

    Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

    כִּי־לֶחֶםki-LE/chemfor the bread ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodהוּאhuisהַיּוֹרֵדhay/yo/REDwhat comes downמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenוְנֹתֵןve/no/TENand givesחַיִּיםchay/YIMlifeלָעוֹלָם׃la/o/LAMto the world

    For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordתְּנָה־לָּנוּte/NA-LA/nugive usתָמִידta/MIDalwaysאֶת־הַלֶּחֶםet-hal/LE/chemthe breadהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

35. 35

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIהוּאhuam heלֶחֶםLE/chemthe bread ofהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMlifeכׇּל־הַבָּאkol-hab/BAwhoever comesאֵלַיe/LAYto meלֹאlonotיִרְעַבyir/AVwill hungerלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMeverוְהַמַּאֲמִיןve/ham/ma/a/MINand whoever believesבִּיbiin meלֹאlonotיִצְמָאyits/MAwill thirstלְעוֹלָם׃le/o/LAMever

    And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

    But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

    כֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִתְּנֶנּוּ־לִיyit/te/NEN/nu-ligives to meאָבִיA/VImy Fatherיָבוֹאya/VOwill comeאֵלָיe/LAYto meוְהַבָּאve/hab/BAand whoever comesאֵלַיe/LAYto meלֹאlonotאֶהְדֳּפֶנּוּeh/do/fen/NUwill I push himהַחוּצָה׃ha/CHU/tsaoutside

    All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

38. 38

    כִּיkiforלֹאlonotיָרַדְתִּיya/RAD/tiI came downמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doרְצוֹנִיre/tso/NImy willכִּיkibutאִםimonlyרְצוֹןre/TSONthe will ofשֹׁלְחִי׃shol/CHIHim who sent me

    For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

39. 39

    וְזֶהve/ZEand this isרְצוֹןre/TSONthe will ofהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoשְׁלָחָנִיshe/la/CHA/nihas sent meאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatכׇּל־הַנִּתָּןkol-han/nit/TANall that is givenלִיlito meלֹא־יֹאבַדlo-yo/VADwill not be lostלִיlito meכִּיkibutאִם־אֲקִימֶנּוּim-a/ki/men/NUonly I will raise itבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהָאַחֲרוֹן׃ha/a/cha/RONthe last

    And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40. 40

    וְזֶהve/ZEand this isרְצוֹןre/TSONthe will ofשֹׁלְחִיshol/CHIHim who sent meאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatכׇּל־הָרֹאֶהkol-ha/ro/Eeveryone who seesאֶת־הַבֵּןet-Hab/BENthe Sonוּמַאֲמִיןu/ma/a/MINand believesבּוֹboin himיִהְיוּ־לוֹyih/YU-lowill haveחַיֵּיchay/YEthe life ofעוֹלָםo/LAMeternityוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֲקִימֶנּוּa/ki/men/NUwill raise himבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהָאַחֲרוֹן׃ha/a/cha/RONthe last

    And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

    The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

    And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?

43. 43

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאַל־תְּהִיal-te/HIlet there not beתְלוּנָהte/lu/NAgrumblingבֵּינֵיכֶם׃be/ne/KHEMamong yourselves

    Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

44. 44

    No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

    כָתוּבkha/TUVwrittenבַּנְּבִיאִיםban/ne/vi/IMin the prophetsוְכׇל־בָּנַיִךְve/KHOL-ba/NA/yikhand all your childrenלִמּוּדֵיlim/mu/DEwill be taught ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoשָׁמַעsha/MAhas heardמִן־הָאָבmin-Ha/AVfrom the Fatherוְלָמַדve/la/MADand learnedיָבֹאya/VOcomesאֵלָי׃e/LAYto me

    It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

46. 46

    Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

    אָמֵןa/MENamenאָמֵןa/MENamenאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youהַמַּאֲמִיןham/ma/a/MINwhoever believesבִּיbiin meלוֹlohasחַיֵּיchay/YEthe life ofעוֹלָם׃o/LAMeternity

    Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

    אָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIהוּאhuamלֶחֶםLE/chemthe bread ofהַחַיִּים׃ha/chay/YIMlife

    I am that bread of life.

49. 49

    אֲבוֹתֵיכֶםa/vo/te/KHEMyour fathersאָכְלוּa/khe/LUateאֶת־הַמָּןet-ham/MANthe mannaבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessוַיָּמֻתוּ׃vay/ya/MU/tuand they died

    Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

    זֶהzethisהוּאhuisהַלֶּחֶםhal/LE/chemthe breadהַיֹּרֵדhay/yo/REDthat comes downמִן־הַשָּׁמָיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיֹאכַל־אִישׁyo/KHAL-isha man may eatמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof itוְלֹאve/LOand notיָמוּת׃ya/MUTdie

    This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

    I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

    וַיִּתְוַכְּחוּvay/yit/vak/ke/CHUand arguedהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsאִישׁisheach manעִם־רֵעֵהוּim-re/E/huwith his neighborלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאֵיכָהe/KHAhowיוּכַלyu/KHALcanזֶהzethis oneלָתֶת־לָנוּLA/tet-LA/nugive usאֶת־בְּשָׂרוֹet-be/sa/ROhis fleshלֶאֱכֹל׃le/e/KHOLto eat

    The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

    Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

    Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

    For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

    הָאֹכֵלha/o/KHELwhoever eatsאֶת־בְּשָׂרִיet-be/sa/RImy fleshוְשֹׁתֶהve/sho/TEand drinksאֶת־דָּמִיet-da/MImy bloodהוּאhuheיָלִיןya/LINlodgesבִּיbiin meוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iבוֹ׃voin him

    He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

57. 57

    As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

58. 58

    הוּאhuthis isהַלֶּחֶםhal/LE/chemthe breadהַיֹּרֵדhay/yo/REDthat came downמִן־הַשָּׁמָיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenלֹאlonotכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasאָכְלוּa/khe/LUateאֲבוֹתֵיכֶםa/vo/te/KHEMyour fathersאֶת־הַמָּןet-ham/MANthe mannaוַיָּמֻתוּvay/ya/MU/tuand diedהָאֹכֵלha/o/KHELwhoever eatsאֶת־הַלֶּחֶםet-hal/LE/chemthe breadהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisיִחְיֶהyich/YEwill liveלְעוֹלָם׃le/o/LAMforever

    This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

    These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

    וְרַבִּיםve/rab/BIMand manyמִתַּלְמִידָיוmit/tal/mi/DAYVof his disciplesכְּשׇׁמְעָםke/shom/AMwhen they heardאָמְרוּa/me/RUsaidקָשֶׁהka/SHEhardהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARis the wordהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisמִיmiwhoיוּכַלyu/KHALcanלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ahearאֹתוֹ׃o/TOit

    Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

    When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

    וְאַףve/AFthen whatכִּי־תִרְאוּki-tir/Uif you seeאֶת־בֶּן־הָאָדָםet-Ben-ha/a/DAMthe Son of manעֹלֶהo/LEgoing upאֶל־אֲשֶׁרel-a/SHERto whereהָיָה־שָׁםha/YA-shamhe wasלְפָנִים׃le/fa/NIMbefore

    What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

63. 63

    הָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritהוּאhuisהַנֹּתֵןhan/no/TENwhat givesחַיִּיםchay/YIMlifeוְהַבָּשָׂרve/hab/ba/SARand the fleshאֵין־בּוֹen-bothere is not in itמוֹעִילmo/ILprofitהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֲנִיa/NIIדִבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tihave spokenאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youרוּחַRU/achspiritהֵמָּהHEM/mathey areוְחַיִּים׃ve/chay/YIMand life

    It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

64. 64

    אַךְ־יֵשׁakh-yeshbut there areבָּכֶםba/KHEMamong youאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹאlodo notיַאֲמִינוּya/a/MI/nubelieveכִּיkiforיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusיָדַעya/DAknewמֵרֹאשׁme/ROSHfrom the beginningמִיmiwhoהֵםhemareאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoאֵינָםe/NAMdo notמַאֲמִינִיםma/a/mi/NIMbelieveוּמִיu/MIand whoהַמּוֹסֵרham/mo/SERis the one who would deliverאֹתוֹ׃o/TOhim

    But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

65. 65

    וַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand he saidעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכִּיkithatלֹא־יוּכַלlo-yu/KHALcannotאִישׁisha manלָבוֹאla/VOcomeאֵלַיe/LAYto meבִּלְתִּיbil/TIexceptאִם־נִתַּן־לוֹim-nit/TAN-loif it is given to himמֵאֵתme/ETfromאָבִי׃A/VImy Father

    And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

66. 66

    מִן־הָעֵתmin-ha/ETfrom the timeהַהִיאha/HIthatרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמִתַּלְמִידָיוmit/tal/mi/DAYVof his disciplesנָסֹגוּna/SO/guturnedאָחוֹרa/CHORbackוְלֹאve/LOand notיָסְפוּya/se/FUdid they continueלְהִתְהַלֵּךְle/hit/hal/LEKHto walkאִתּוֹ׃it/TOwith him

    From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

67. 67

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֶל־שְׁנֵים־הֶעָשָׂרel-she/NEM-he/a/SARto the twelveהֲיֵשׁha/YESHis itאֶת־נַפְשְׁכֶםet-naf/she/KHEMyour willגַּם־אַתֶּםgam-at/TEMyou alsoלָסוּרla/SURto turn awayמֵאַחֲרָי׃me/a/cha/RAYfrom following me

    Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredאֹתוֹo/TOhimשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordאֶל־מִיel-mito whomנֵלֵךְne/LEKHshall we goדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe words ofחַיֵּיchay/YEthe life ofעוֹלָםo/LAMeternityעִמָּךְ׃im/MAKHare with you

    Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

69. 69

    וַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuand weהֶאֱמַנּוּhe/e/man/NUhave believedוַנֵּדַעvan/ne/DAand we knowכִּי־אַתָּהki-at/TAthat youהוּאhuareהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahבֶּן־אֱלֹהִיםben-E/lo/HIMthe Son of Godחַיִּים׃chay/YIMliving

    And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

70. 70

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהֲלֹאha/LOdid notבָחַרְתִּיva/CHAR/tichooseאֲנִיa/NIIבָכֶםva/KHEMyouשְׁנֵים־הֶעָשָׂרshe/NEM-he/a/SARthe twelveוְאֶחָדve/e/CHADand oneמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youשָׂטָןsa/TANa devilהוּא׃huis

    Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

    וְזֹאתve/ZOTand thisדִּבֶּרdib/BERhe spokeעַל־יְהוּדָהal-Ye/hu/DAabout Judasבֶּן־שִׁמְעוֹןben-Shim/ONson of Simonאִישׁ־קְרִיּוֹתIsh-ke/riy/YOTIscariotאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִמְסְרֶנּוּyim/se/ren/NUwould deliver himוְהוּאve/HUand he wasאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִשְּׁנֵים־הֶעָשָׂר׃mish/she/NEM-he/a/SARof the twelve

    He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.
