   After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

   Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.

   In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

   For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

   And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

   וַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawאֹתוֹo/TOhimיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusשֹׁכֵבsho/KHEVlyingוַיֵּדַעvay/YE/daand knewכִּיkithatאָרְכוּ־לוֹa/re/KHU-lohad been long for himיְמֵיye/MEthe days ofחׇלְיוֹchol/YOhis sicknessוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהֲתַחְפֹּץha/tach/POTSdo you wantלְהֵרָפֵא׃le/he/ra/FEto be healed

   When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

   וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredהַחוֹלֶהha/cho/LEthe sick manאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordאֵין־אִישׁen-ishthere is no manאִתִּיit/TIwith meלְהַשְׁלִיכֵנִיle/hash/li/khe/NIto throw meאֶל־הַבְּרֵכָהel-hab/be/re/KHAinto the poolבְּהֵרָעֵשׁbe/he/ra/ESHwhen is stirredהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe waterוּבְטֶרֶםu/ve/TE/remand beforeאָבֹאa/VOI am comingוְיָרַדve/ya/RADgoes downאַחֵרa/CHERanotherלְפָנָי׃le/fa/NAYbefore me

   The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusקוּםkumriseשָׂאsatake upאֶת־מִשְׁכָּבְךָet-mish/ka/ve/KHAyour bedוְהִתְהַלֵּךְ׃ve/hit/hal/LEKHand walk

   Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

   וּכְרֶגַעu/khe/RE/gaand in a momentשָׁבshavreturnedהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manלְאֵיתָנוֹle/e/ta/NOto his strengthוַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand took upאֶת־מִשְׁכָּבוֹet-mish/ka/VOhis bedוַיִּתְהַלָּךְvay/yit/hal/LAKHand walkedוְהַיּוֹםve/hay/YOMand the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatיוֹםyomwas the day ofהַשַּׁבָּת׃hash/shab/BATthe sabbath

   And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsאֶל־הָאִישׁel-ha/ISHto the manהַנִּרְפָּאhan/nir/PAwho was healedשַׁבָּתshab/BATsabbathהַיּוֹםhay/YOMis todayאָסוּרa/SURforbiddenלְךָle/KHAfor youלָשֵׂאתla/SETto carryאֶת־מִשְׁכָּבֶךָ׃et-mish/ka/VE/khayour bed

    The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredאֹתָםo/TAMthemלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֶחֱלִימַנִיhe/che/li/ma/NImade me wellהוּאhuheאָמַרa/MARsaidאֵלַיe/LAYto meשָׂאsatake upאֶת־מִשְׁכָּבְךָet-mish/ka/ve/KHAyour bedוְהִתְהַלֵּךְ׃ve/hit/hal/LEKHand walk

    He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

    וַיִּשְׁאָלֻהוּvay/yish/a/lu/HUand they asked himמִיmiwhoזֶהzeis thisהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoאָמַרa/MARsaidלְךָle/KHAto youשָׂאsatake upאֶת־מִשְׁכָּבְךָet-mish/ka/ve/KHAyour bedוְהִתְהַלֵּךְ׃ve/hit/hal/LEKHand walk

    Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

13. 13

    וְהַנִּרְפָּאve/han/nir/PAand the one healedלֹאlodid notיָדַעya/DAknowמִיmiwhoהוּאhuit wasכִּיkiforסָרsarhad turned asideיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֵּלֶךְ־לוֹvay/YE/lekh-loand gone awayכִּיkiforהָיָהha/YAthere wasהָמוֹןha/MONa crowdרַבravgreatבַּמָּקוֹםbam/ma/KOMin that placeהַהוּא׃ha/HUthat

    And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.

14. 14

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passאַחֲרֵי־כֵןa/cha/RE-khenafterwardוַיִּמְצָאֵהוּvay/yim/tsa/E/huand found himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofהַמִּקְדָּשׁham/mik/DASHthe templeוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdנִרְפָּא־לָךְnir/PA-lakhyou are healedאַל־תּוֹסִיףal-to/SIFdo not continueלַחֲטֹאla/cha/TOsinפֶּן־תְּאֻנֶּהpen-te/un/NElest befallאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youרָעָהra/Aan evilגְּדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreaterמִזֹּאת׃miz/ZOTthan this

    Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

15. 15

    וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manוַיַּגֵּדvay/yag/GEDand toldלַיְּהוּדִיםlay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsכִּי־יֵשׁוּעַki-Ye/SHU/athat Jesusהוּאhuheאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoרְפָאוֹ׃re/fa/Ohealed him

    The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.

16. 16

    וְעַל־כֵּןve/AL-kenand thereforeרָדְפוּra/de/FUpersecutedהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַet-Ye/SHU/aJesusוַיְבַקְשׁוּvay/vak/SHUand soughtהֲמִיתוֹha/mi/TOto kill himכִּי־עָשָׂהki-a/SAbecause he didאֵלֶּהEL/letheseבַּשַּׁבָּת׃bash/shab/BATon the sabbath day

    And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

17. 17

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredאֹתָםo/TAMthemיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאָבִיA/VImy Fatherפֹּעֵלpo/ELworksפְּעֻלָּתוֹpe/ul/la/TOHis workעַד־עָתָּהad-AT/tauntil nowוְגַם־אָנֹכִיve/GAM-a/no/KHIand I alsoפֹּעֵל׃po/ELwork

    But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

18. 18

    אָזazthenיוֹסִיפוּyo/SI/fucontinuedהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsלְבַקֵּשׁle/vak/KESHto seekאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹet-naf/SHOhis lifeכִּיkibecauseמִלְּבַדmil/le/VADbesidesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatחִלֵּלchil/LELhe profanedאֶת־הַשַּׁבָּתet-hash/shab/BATthe sabbathגַּםgamalsoאָמַרa/MARhe saidכִּיkithatהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodהוּאhuisאָבִיוA/VIVhis Fatherוּמַשְׁוֶהu/mash/VEand making equalאֶת־עַצְמוֹet-ats/MOhimselfלֵאלֹהִים׃le/lo/HIMwith God

    Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

19. 19

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאָמֵןa/MENamenאָמֵןa/MENamenאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youלֹא־יוּכַלlo-yu/KHALcannotהַבֵּןhab/BENthe Sonלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTdoדָּבָרda/VARa thingמִנַּפְשׁוֹmin/naf/SHOof himselfבִּלְתִּיbil/TIexceptאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־יִרְאֶהet-a/SHER-yir/Ewhat he seesאֶת־אָבִיוet-A/VIVhis Fatherעֹשֶׂהo/SEdoingכִּיkiforאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatעֹשֶׂהo/SEdoesהוּאhuHeגַּם־הַבֵּןgam-Hab/BENalso the Sonיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEdoesכָּמֹהוּ׃ka/MO/hulike Him

    Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

20. 20

    כִּיkiforהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherאֹהֵבo/HEVlovesאֶת־הַבֵּןet-Hab/BENthe Sonוּמוֹרֶהu/mo/REand showsאֹתוֹo/TOhimכֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEHe doesוְעוֹדve/ODand moreמַעֲשִׂיםma/a/SIMworksגְּדוֹלִיםge/do/LIMgreaterמֵאֵלֶּהme/EL/lethan theseיוֹרֵהוּyo/re/HUHe will show himלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתִּתַּמָּהוּ׃tit/tam/ma/HUyou may marvel

    For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

21. 21

    כִּיkiforכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherיָעִירya/IRraisesוִיחַיֶּהvi/chay/YEand gives life toאֶת־הַמֵּתִיםet-ham/me/TIMthe deadכֵּןkensoגַּם־הַבֵּןgam-Hab/BENalso the Sonיְחַיֶּהye/chay/YEgives life toאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhomיֶחְפָּץ׃yech/PATShe desires

    For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.

22. 22

    כִּיkiforהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherלֹא־יָדִיןlo-ya/DINdoes not judgeאִישׁishany manכִּיkibutאִם־נָתַןim-na/TANonly He has givenהַמִּשְׁפָּטham/mish/PATthe judgmentכֻּלּוֹkul/LOall of itבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofהַבֵּן׃hab/BENthe Son

    For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

23. 23

    לְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיְכַבְּדוּye/khab/be/DUmay honourכֻלָּםkhul/LAMallאֶת־הַבֵּןet-Hab/BENthe Sonכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHEReven asיְכַבְּדוּye/khab/be/DUthey honourאֶת־הָאָבet-Ha/AVthe Fatherמִיmiwhoeverאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹא־יְכַבֵּדlo-ye/khab/BEDdoes not honorאֶת־הַבֵּןet-Hab/BENthe Sonגַּםgamalsoאֶת־הָאָבet-Ha/AVthe Fatherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoשְׁלָחוֹshe/la/CHOsent himאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nudoes notמְכַבֵּד׃me/khab/BEDhonor

    That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

24. 24

    אָמֵןa/MENamenאָמֵןa/MENamenאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youהַשֹּׁמֵעַhash/sho/ME/awhoever hearsדְּבָרַיde/va/RAYmy wordוּמַאֲמִיןu/ma/a/MINand believesלְשֹׁלְחִיle/shol/CHIHim who sent meיֶשׁ־לוֹyesh-lohasחַיֵּיchay/YEthe life ofעוֹלָםo/LAMeternityוְלֹאve/LOand notיָבֹאya/VOwill he comeבַּמִּשְׁפָּטbam/mish/PATinto condemnationכִּי־עָבַרki-a/VARbut has passedמִמָּוֶתmim/MA/vetfrom deathלַחַיִּים׃la/chay/YIMto life

    Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

25. 25

    אָמֵןa/MENamenאָמֵןa/MENamenאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכִּי־תָבוֹאki-ta/VOthat is comingשָׁעָהsha/Aan hourוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִיאhiit isאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhenיִשְׁמְעוּyish/me/Uwill hearהַמֵּתִיםham/me/TIMthe deadאֶת־קוֹלet-kolthe voice ofבֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִיםben-Ha/e/lo/HIMthe Son of Godוְהַשֹּׁמְעִיםve/hash/shom/IMand those who hearחָיֹהcha/YOliveיִחְיוּ׃yich/YUwill live

    Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

26. 26

    כִּיkiforכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasלָאָבla/AVto the Fatherיֵשׁyeshthere isחַיִּיםchay/YIMlifeבְּעַצְמוֹbe/ats/MOin Himselfכֵּןkensoנָתַןna/TANHe has givenגַּם־לַבֵּןgam-Lab/BENalso to the Sonלִהְיוֹת־לוֹlih/YOT-loto haveחַיִּיםchay/YIMlifeבְּעַצְמוֹ׃be/ats/MOin himself

    For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

27. 27

    וְאַף־שָׁלְטָןve/AF-sha/le/TANand also authorityנָתַןna/TANHe has givenלוֹloto himלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doמִשְׁפָּטmish/PATjudgmentכִּיkibecauseבֶּן־הָאָדָםben-Ha/a/DAMthe Son of manהוּא׃huhe is

    And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

28. 28

    אַל־תִּתְמְהוּal-tit/me/HUdo not marvelעַל־זֹאתal-zotat thisכִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdבָּאָהba/Ais comingשָׁעָהsha/Aan hourוְיִשְׁמְעוּve/yish/me/Uand will hearכׇּל־שֹׁכְנֵיkol-shokh/NEall who dwell inקֶבֶרKE/verthe graveאֶת־קוֹלוֹ׃et-ko/LOhis voice

    Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

29. 29

    וְיֵצְאוּve/yets/Uand shall come forthעֹשֵׂיo/SEthe doers ofהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodלִתְחִיַּתlit/chiy/YATunto the resurrection ofהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMlifeוְעֹשֵׂיve/o/SEand the doers ofהָרַעha/RAevilלִתְחִיַּתlit/chiy/YATunto the resurrection ofהַדִּין׃had/DINdamnation

    And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

    לֹאlonotאוּכַלu/KHALcan Iלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTdoדָּבָרda/VARa thingמִנַּפְשִׁיmin/naf/SHIof myselfכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasאֶשְׁמַעesh/MAI hearכֵּןkensoאֶשְׁפֹּטesh/POTI judgeוּמִשְׁפָּטִיu/mish/pa/TIand my judgmentצֶדֶקTSE/dekis righteousכִּיkibecauseלֹאlonotאֲבַקֵּשׁa/vak/KESHdo I seekרְצוֹנִיre/tso/NImy willכִּיkibutאִםimonlyרְצוֹןre/TSONthe will ofהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoשְׁלָחָנִי׃she/la/CHA/nihas sent me

    I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

31. 31

    אִם־אָנֹכִיim-a/no/KHIif Iמֵעִידme/IDtestifyעָלָיa/LAYabout myselfעֵדוּתִיe/du/TImy testimonyלֹאlois notנֶאֱמָנָה׃ne/e/ma/NAreliable

    If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

32. 32

    יֵשׁyeshthere isאַחֵרa/CHERanotherהַמֵּעִידham/me/IDwho testifiesעָלָיa/LAYabout meוְיָדַעְתִּיve/ya/DA/tiand I knowכִּיkithatנֶאֱמָנָהne/e/ma/NAreliableעֵדוּתוֹe/du/TOis His testimonyאֲשֶׁר־הוּאa/SHER-huthat Heמֵעִידme/IDtestifiesעָלָי׃a/LAYabout me

    There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.

33. 33

    אַתֶּםat/TEMyouשְׁלַחְתֶּםshe/lach/TEMsentאֶל־יוֹחָנָןel-Yo/cha/NANto Johnוְהוּאve/HUand heהֵעִידhe/IDtestifiedעֵדוּתe/DUTthe testimony ofאֱמֶת׃e/METtruth

    Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.

34. 34

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIbut Iלֹאlonotאֶקַּחek/KACHdo I takeלִיlifor myselfעֵדוּתe/DUTtestimonyמֵאָדָםme/a/DAMfrom manאַךְakhbutאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidזֹאתzotthisלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתִּוָּשֵׁעוּן׃tiv/va/she/UNyou may be saved

    But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.

35. 35

    הוּאhuheהָיָהha/YAwasהַנֵּרhan/NERthe lampהַדֹּלֵקhad/do/LEKburningוְהַמֵּאִירve/ham/ME/irand shiningוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youרְצִיתֶםre/tsi/TEMyou were pleasedלָשׂוֹשׂla/SOSto rejoiceכְּשָׁעָהke/sha/Afor an hourלְאוֹרוֹ׃le/o/ROin his light

    He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

36. 36

    But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.

37. 37

    וְהָאָבve/Ha/AVand the Fatherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoשְׁלָחַנִיshe/la/CHA/nisent meהוּאhuHeמֵעִידme/IDhas testifiedעָלָיa/LAYabout meוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youאֶת־קוֹלוֹet-ko/LOHis voiceלֹא־שְׁמַעְתֶּםlo-she/ma/TEMhave not heardמֵעוֹלָםme/o/LAMeverוּתְמוּנָתוֹu/te/mu/na/TOand His formלֹאlonotרְאִיתֶם׃re/i/TEMhave you seen

    And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

38. 38

    וּדְבָרוֹu/de/va/ROand His wordאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuis notשֹׁכֵןsho/KHENdwellingבְּקִרְבְּכֶםbe/kir/be/KHEMin youכִּיkiforאֵינְכֶםe/ne/KHEMyou do notמַאֲמִינִיםma/a/mi/NIMbelieveלִשְׁלוּחוֹ׃lish/lu/CHOthe one He sent

    And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.

39. 39

    דִּרְשׁוּdir/SHUsearchבַכְּתָבִיםvak/ke/ta/VIMthe scripturesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERforתַּחְשְׁבוּtach/she/VUyou thinkשֶׁיֵּשׁshey/YESHthat there isלָכֶםla/KHEMto youחַיֵּיchay/YEthe life ofעוֹלָםo/LAMeternityבָּהֶםba/HEMin themוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyהַמְּעִידִיםham/me/i/DIMare those who testifyעָלָי׃a/LAYabout me

    Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

40. 40

    וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youאֵינְכֶםe/ne/KHEMyou are notרוֹצִיםro/TSIMwillingלָבוֹאla/VOcomeאֵלָיe/LAYto meלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTso as to beלָכֶםla/KHEMto youחַיִּים׃chay/YIMlife

    And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

41. 41

    לֹא־אֶקַּחlo-ek/KACHI do not takeכָּבוֹדka/VODhonorמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEfrom the sons ofאָדָם׃a/DAMmen

    I receive not honour from men.

42. 42

    אָכֵןa/KHENbutיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouכִּיkithatאֵין־אַהֲבַתen-a/ha/VATthere is not the love ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבְּקִרְבְּכֶם׃be/kir/be/KHEMin you

    But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.

43. 43

    אֲנִיa/NIIהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdבָאתִיVA/tihave comeבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofאָבִיA/VImy Fatherלֹאlonotקִבַּלְתֶּםkib/bal/TEMdid you receiveאֹתִיo/TImeוְאִם־יָבֹאve/IM-ya/VOand if comesאַחֵרa/CHERanotherבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofעַצְמוֹats/MOhimselfאֹתוֹo/TOhimתְקַבֵּלוּ׃te/kab/be/LUyou will receive

    I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

44. 44

    אֵיךְekhhowתּוּכְלוּtukh/LUcanלְהַאֲמִיןle/ha/a/MINbelieveאַתֶּםat/TEMyouהַלֹּקְחִיםhal/lok/CHIMwho takeכָּבוֹדka/VODhonorאִישׁisheach manמֵאֵתme/ETfromרֵעֵהוּre/E/huhis neighborוְאֶת־הַכָּבוֹדve/ET-hak/ka/VODand the honorאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isמֵאֵת־הָאֱלֹהִיםme/ET-ha/e/lo/HIMfrom Godהַיָּחִידhay/ya/CHIDthe only oneלֹאlonotתְּבַקֵּשׁוּ׃te/vak/ke/SHUdo you seek

    How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?

45. 45

    אַל־תַּחְשְׁבוּal-tach/she/VUdo not thinkכִּיkithatאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIאֶטְעֹןet/ONwill accuseעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMyouלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאָבִיA/VImy FatherמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesאֲשֶׁר־לוֹa/SHER-lofor whomתְיַחֵלוּte/ya/che/LUyou hopeהוּאhuhe isהַטֹּעֵןhat/to/ENwho accusesעֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMyou

    Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.

46. 46

    כִּיkiforלוּluifתַאֲמִינוּta/a/MI/nuyou believedלְמֹשֶׁהLe/mo/SHEMosesגַּם־לִיgam-lialso meתַאֲמִינוּta/a/MI/nuyou would believeכִּיkiforהוּאhuheכָּתַבka/TAVwroteעָלָי׃a/LAYof me

    For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

47. 47

    וְאִם־לִכְתָבָיוve/IM-likh/ta/VAYVand if his writingsאֵינְכֶםe/ne/KHEMyou do notמַאֲמִינִיםma/a/mi/NIMbelieveאֵיךְekhhowתַאֲמִינוּta/a/MI/nuwill you believeלִדְבָרָי׃lid/va/RAYmy words

    But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
