   (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

   וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand he went outמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the land ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudaeaוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainהַגָּלִילָה׃hag/Ga/LI/lainto Galilee

   He left Judæa, and departed again into Galilee.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it wasלַעֲבֹרla/a/VORfor him to passדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhby way ofאֶרֶץE/retsthe land ofשֹׁמְרוֹן׃Shom/RONSamaria

   And he must needs go through Samaria.

   וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameלְעִירle/IRto a cityמֵעָרֵיme/a/REof the cities ofשֹׁמְרוֹןShom/RONSamariaוּשְׁמָהּu/she/MAand its nameסוּכַרSu/KHARSycharמִמּוּלmim/MULoppositeחֶלְקַתchel/KATthe plot ofהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEthe fieldאֲשֶׁר־נָתַןa/SHER-na/TANthat gaveיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobלְיוֹסֵףle/Yo/SEFto Josephבְּנוֹ׃be/NOhis son

   Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

   Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

   There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

   (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

   Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

    Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

    The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

    Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herכׇּל־הַשֹּׁתֶהkol-hash/sho/TEwhoever drinksמִן־הַמַּיִםmin-ham/MA/yimfrom the waterהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseיָשׁוּבya/SHUVwill againוְיִצְמָא׃ve/yits/MAand thirst

    Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

14. 14

    וַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whoeverיִשְׁתֶּהyish/TEdrinksמִן־הַמַּיִםmin-ham/MA/yimfrom the waterאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIנֹתֵןno/TENgiveלוֹloto himלֹאlonotיִצְמָאyits/MAwill he thirstלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverכִּיkibutהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe waterאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֶתֶּן־לוֹet/TEN-loI will give himיִהְיוּyih/YUwill becomeבְקִרְבּוֹve/kir/BOin himלִמְקוֹרlim/KORa spring ofמַיִםMA/yimwaterנֹבְעִיםnov/IMwelling upלְחַיֵּיle/chay/YEto the life ofהָעוֹלָם׃ha/o/LAMeternity

    But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

    וַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordתְּנָה־לִּיte/NA-ligive meהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe waterהָהֵםha/HEMthatלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־אֶצְמָאlo-ets/MAI will not thirstעוֹדodagainוְלֹאve/LOand notאוֹסִיףo/SIFcontinueלָבוֹאla/VOto comeהֵנָּהHEN/nahereלִשְׁאֹב׃lish/OVto draw

    The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

16. 16

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלְכִיle/KHIgoוְקִרְאִיve/kir/Iand callלְאִישֵׁךְle/i/SHEKHyour husbandוְשׁוּבִיve/SHU/viand returnהֲלוֹם׃ha/LOMhere

    Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

17. 17

    וַתַּעַןvat/TA/anand answeredהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidאֵיןenthere is noלִיlito meאִישׁishhusbandוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusכֵּןkenrightlyדִבַּרְתְּdib/BARTyou have saidאֵיןenthere is noלִיlito meאִישׁ׃ishhusband

    The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

18. 18

    כִּיkiforבְּעָלִיםbe/a/LIMhusbandsחֲמִשָּׁהcha/mish/SHAfiveהָיוּha/YUwereלָךְlakhto youוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand the one whomעַתָּהat/TAnowלָךְlakhyou haveאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuis notבַּעְלֵךְba/LEKHyour husbandלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאֱמֶתe/METtrueהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARis the wordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדִבַּרְתְּ׃dib/BARTyou spoke

    For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

19. 19

    וַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordרֹאָהro/Aseeאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIכִּיkithatנָבִיאna/VIa prophetאָתָּה׃AT/taare you

    The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20. 20

    אֲבוֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersהִשְׁתַּחֲווּhish/ta/cha/VUbowed downבָּהָרba/HARon the mountainהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youאֹמְרִיםom/RIMsayיְרוּשָׁלַיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemהִיאhiisהַמָּקוֹםham/ma/KOMthe placeהַנִּבְחָרhan/niv/CHARchosenלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹתle/hish/ta/cha/VOTto bow downשָׁמָּה׃SHAM/mathere

    Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21. 21

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאִשָּׁהish/SHAwomanהַאֲמִינִיha/a/mi/NIbelieveלִיlimeכִּיkiforתָבוֹאta/VOis comingשָׁעָהsha/Aan hourאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhenלֹאlonotתִשְׁתַּחֲווּtish/ta/cha/VUwill you bow downלָאָבla/AVto the Fatherבָּהָרba/HARon the mountainהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְלֹאve/LOand notבִירוּשָׁלָיִם׃Vi/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalem

    Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22. 22

    אַתֶּםat/TEMyouמִשְׁתַּחֲוִיםmish/ta/cha/VIMbow downאֶל־אֲשֶׁרel-a/SHERto whatלֹאlonotיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMyou knowוַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuweמִשְׁתַּחֲוִיםmish/ta/cha/VIMbow downאֶל־אֲשֶׁרel-a/SHERto whatיָדָעְנוּya/DA/nuwe knowכִּיkiforהַיְשׁוּעָהhay/shu/Athe salvationמִן־הַיְּהוּדִיםmin-Hay/ye/hu/DIMfrom the Jewsהִיא׃hiis

    Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23. 23

    אוּלָםu/LAMbutתָּבוֹאta/VOis comingשָׁעָהsha/Aan hourוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִיאhiit isאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhenעֹבְדֵיov/DEthe worshipers ofאֵלelGodהָאֲמִתִּיםha/a/mit/TIMtrueיִשְׁתַּחֲווּyish/ta/cha/VUwill bow downלָאָבla/AVthe Fatherבְּרוּחַbe/RU/achin spiritוּבֶאֱמֶתu/ve/e/METand in truthכִּיkiforבְּמִשְׁתַּחֲוִיםbe/mish/ta/cha/VIMin those who bow downכָּאֵלֶּהka/EL/lelike theseמְבַקֵּשׁme/vak/KESHseeksהָאָב׃ha/AVthe Father

    But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24. 24

    הָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodרוּחַRU/achspiritהוּאhuHe isוְהַמִּשְׁתַּחֲוִיםve/ham/mish/ta/cha/VIMand those who bow downלוֹloto Himצְרִיכִיםtse/ri/KHIMmustלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹתle/hish/ta/cha/VOTbow downבְּרוּחַbe/RU/achin spiritוּבֶאֱמֶת׃u/ve/e/METand in truth

    God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

25. 25

    וַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowכִּי־יָבֹאki-ya/VOthat is comingהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִקָּרֵאyik/ka/REis calledלוֹloto himכְּרִיסְטוֹסKe/ri/se/TOSChristהוּאhuheיָבוֹאya/VOcomesוְיַגִּידve/yag/GIDand he will tellלָנוּLA/nuusאֶת־כֹּל׃et-kolall things

    The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֲנִיa/NIIהַמְדַבֵּרham/dab/BERwho speakאֵלָיִךְe/LA/yikhto youאֲנִיa/NIIהוּא׃huam he

    Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

27. 27

    עוֹדodstillהוּאhuheמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERwas speakingכָּזֹאתka/ZOTthusוְתַלְמִידָיוve/tal/mi/DAYVand his disciplesבָּאוּBA/ucameוַיִּתְמְהוּvay/yit/me/HUand they marveledעַל־דַּבְּרוֹal-dab/be/ROat his speakingעִם־אִשָּׁהim-ish/SHAwith a womanוְאִישׁve/ISHand a manלֹאlonotאָמַר־לוֹa/MAR-losaid to himמַה־תִּשְׁאַלma-tish/ALwhat do you askאוֹoorמַה־תְּדַבֵּרma-te/dab/BERwhy do you speakעִמָּהּ׃im/MAwith her

    And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?

28. 28

    וְהָאִשָּׁהve/ha/ish/SHAand the womanעׇזְבָהoz/VAleftאֶת־כַּדָּהּet-kad/DAher jarוַתֵּלֶךְvat/TE/lekhand wentהָעִירָהha/I/rainto the cityוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidאֶל־הָאֲנָשִׁים׃el-ha/a/na/SHIMto the men

    The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,

    בֹּאוּBO/ucomeוּרְאוּu/re/Useeאִישׁisha manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהִגִּידhig/GIDtoldלִיlimeכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHERall thatעָשִׂיתִיa/SI/tiI didהֲלֹאha/LOis notזֶהzethisהוּאhuisהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

30. 30

    וַיֵּצְאוּvay/yets/Uand they went outמִן־הָעִירmin-ha/IRfrom the cityוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand cameאֵלָיו׃e/LAYVto him

    Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

31. 31

    הֵמָּהHEM/matheyטֶרֶםTE/rembeforeיָבֹאוּya/VO/ucameוְתַלְמִידָיוve/tal/mi/DAYVand his disciplesבִּקְשׁוּbik/SHUaskedמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאֱכׇל־נָאe/KHOL-naeat nowרַבִּי׃rab/BIrabbi

    In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.

32. 32

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיֶשׁ־לִיyesh-liI haveאֹכֶלO/khelfoodלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLto eatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאַתֶּםat/TEMyouלֹאlonotיְדַעְתֶּם׃ye/da/TEMdo know

    But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.

33. 33

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesאִישׁisheach manאֶל־רֵעֵהוּel-re/E/huto his neighborהֲכִיha/KHIhasהֵבִיאhe/VIbroughtלוֹloto himאִישׁisha manלֶאֱכֹל׃le/e/KHOLto eat

    Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?

34. 34

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusמַאֲכָלִיma/a/kha/LImy foodעֲשׂוֹתa/SOTto doרְצוֹןre/TSONthe will ofשֹׁלְחִיshol/CHIHim who sent meוּלְהַשְׁלִיםu/le/hash/LIMand to completeמַעֲשֵׂהוּ׃ma/a/SE/huHis work

    Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

35. 35

    הֲלֹאha/LOdo notאַתֶּםat/TEMyouתֹּאמְרוּto/me/RUsayעוֹדodyetאַרְבָּעָהar/ba/Afourחֳדָשִׁיםcho/da/SHIMmonthsוְהַקָּצִירve/hak/ka/TSIRand the harvestבָּאbacomesהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youשְׂאוּse/Ulift upעֵינֵיכֶםe/ne/KHEMyour eyesוּרְאוּu/re/Uand seeבַשָּׂדוֹתvas/sa/DOTthe fieldsכִּי־כְבָרki-khe/VARthat alreadyהִלְבִּינוּhil/BI/nuthey have whitenedלַקָּצִיר׃lak/ka/TSIRfor harvest

    Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

    וְהַקּוֹצֵרve/hak/ko/TSERand the reaperיִקַּחyik/KACHtakesשְׂכָרוֹse/kha/ROhis wagesוְיֶאֱסֹףve/ye/e/SOFand gathersתְּבוּאָהte/vu/Aproduceלְחַיֵּיle/chay/YEto the life ofעוֹלָםo/LAMeternityלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיִשְׂמְחוּyis/me/CHUmay rejoiceיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherגַּםgambothהַזֹּרֵעַhaz/zo/RE/athe sowerגַּםgamandהַקּוֹצֵר׃hak/ko/TSERthe reaper

    And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

    And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

    אָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIשָׁלַחְתִּיsha/LACH/tihave sentאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouלִקְצֹרlik/TSORto reapאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatלֹאlonotעֲמַלְתֶּםa/mal/TEMyou laboredבּוֹboover itוַאֲחֵרִיםva/a/che/RIMand othersעָמְלוּa/me/LUlaboredוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youנִכְנַסְתֶּםnikh/nas/TEMhave enteredבַּעֲמָלָם׃ba/a/ma/LAMinto their labor

    I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

39. 39

    וְשֹׁמְרֹנִיםve/Shom/ro/NIMand Samaritansרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמִן־הָעִירmin-ha/IRfrom the cityהַהִיאha/HIthatהֶאֱמִינוּhe/e/MI/nubelievedבוֹvoin himעַל־דְּבַרal-de/VARbecause of the word ofהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֵעִידָהhe/i/DAtestifiedלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהוּאhuheהִגִּידhig/GIDtoldלִיlimeאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרet-kol-a/SHERall thatעָשִׂיתִי׃a/SI/tiI did

    And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

40. 40

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasבָּאוּBA/ucameאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהַשֹּׁמְרֹנִיםhash/Shom/ro/NIMthe Samaritansוַיִּשְׁאֲלוּvay/yish/a/LUand they askedמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof himלָשֶׁבֶתla/SHE/vetto stayאִתָּםit/TAMwith themוַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand he stayedשָׁםshamthereיוֹמָיִם׃yo/MA/yimtwo days

    So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.

41. 41

    וְעוֹדve/ODand stillרַבִּיםrab/BIMmany moreמֵהֵמָּהme/HEM/mamore than theseהֶאֱמִינוּhe/e/MI/nubelievedבוֹvoin himבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofדְּבָרוֹ׃de/va/ROhis word

    And many more believed because of his own word;

42. 42

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֶל־הָאִשָּׁהel-ha/ish/SHAto the womanמֵעַתָּהme/at/TAfrom now onלֹא־בִגְלַלlo-vig/LALnot on account ofמַאֲמָרֵךְma/a/ma/REKHyour sayingנַאֲמִיןna/a/MINwe believeכִּיkiforבְאׇזְנֵינוּve/oz/NE/nuwith our earsשָׁמַעְנוּsha/MA/nuwe have heardוַנֵּדַעvan/ne/DAand we knowכִּי־אׇמְנָםki-om/NAMthat trulyזֶהzethisהוּאhuisהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe MessiahמוֹשִׁיעַMo/SHI/athe Saviour ofהָעוֹלָם׃ha/o/LAMthe world

    And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

43. 43

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passמִקֵּץmik/KETSat the end ofשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMthe daysוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand he went outמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goהַגָּלִילָה׃hag/Ga/LI/lainto Galilee

    Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.

44. 44

    כִּיkiforהוּאhuheיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusעַצְמוֹats/MOhimselfהֵעִידhe/IDtestifiedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֵיןenthere is noכָּבוֹדka/VODhonorלַנָּבִיאlan/na/VIto a prophetבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofמוֹלַדְתּוֹ׃mo/lad/TOhis birth

    For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.

45. 45

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passהוּאhuheבָאvacameאֶרֶץE/retsto the land ofהַגָּלִילHag/ga/LILGalileeוַיַּאַסְפֻהוּvay/ya/as/fu/HUand took him inאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEthe men ofהַגָּלִילHag/ga/LILGalileeכִּיkiforרָאוּra/Uthey had seenאֵת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרet-kol-a/SHERall the things thatעָשָׂהa/SAhe didבִירוּשָׁלַיִםVi/ru/sha/LA/yimat Jerusalemבִּימֵיbi/MEin the days ofהֶחָגhe/CHAGthe feastכִּיkiforגַם־הֵמָּהgam-HEM/mathey alsoעָלוּa/LUhad gone upלָחֹגla/CHOGto keepאֶת־הֶחָג׃et-he/CHAGthe feast

    Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilæans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.

46. 46

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusעוֹדodagainהַפַּעַםhap/PA/amthe timeאֶל־קָנָהel-Ka/NAinto Canaאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבַּגָּלִילbag/Ga/LILof Galileeאֶל־מְקוֹםel-me/KOMto the placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereשָׂםsamhe madeהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe waterלְיָיִןle/YA/yinwineוַיְהִיvay/HIand there wasאִישׁisha manמֵעַבְדֵיme/av/DEof the servants ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוּבְנוֹu/ve/NOand his sonחֹלֶהcho/LEwas sickבִּכְפַר־נַחוּם׃bikh/FAR-Na/CHUMat Capernaum

    So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.

47. 47

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְשׇׁמְעוֹkhe/shom/Owhen he heardכִּי־בָאki-vathat had comeיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusמִיהוּדָהmI/hu/DAfrom Judaeaלְאֶרֶץle/E/retsto the land ofהַגָּלִילHag/ga/LILGalileeוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he wentאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himוַיִּשְׁאַלvay/yish/ALand askedמֵאִתּוֹme/it/TOof himלָרֶדֶתla/RE/detto come downוּלְרַפֵּאu/le/rap/PEand healאֶת־בְּנוֹet-be/NOhis sonכִּיkiforנָטָהna/TAhe was inclinedלָמוּת׃la/MUTto die

    When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judæa into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.

48. 48

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאִם־לֹאim-lounlessתִרְאוּtir/Uyou seeאֹתוֹתo/TOTsignsוּמוֹפְתִיםu/mof/TIMand wondersלֹאlonotתַאֲמִינוּ׃ta/a/MI/nuwill you believe

    Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

49. 49

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wasמֵעַבְדֵיme/av/DEof the servants ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordרְדָה־נָּאre/DA-nacome down nowבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeיָמוּתya/MUTdiesבְּנִי׃be/NImy child

    The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

50. 50

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלֵךְlekhgoבִּנְךָbin/KHAyour sonחָיchaylivesוְהָאִישׁve/ha/ISHand the manהֶאֱמִיןhe/e/MINbelievedלַדָּבָרlad/da/VARthe wordאֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּרa/SHER-dib/BERthat had spokenאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיֵּלַךְ׃vay/ye/LAKHand he went

    Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.

51. 51

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְרִדְתּוֹve/rid/TOas he went downוַיִּפְגְּעוּ־בוֹvay/yif/ge/U-voand met himעֲבָדָיוa/va/DAYVhis servantsוַיְבַשְּׂרוּvay/vas/se/RUand brought newsאֹתוֹo/TOto himכִּי־חַיki-chaythat livesבְּנוֹ׃be/NOhis son

    And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.

52. 52

    וַיִּדְרֹשׁvay/yid/ROSHand he inquiredמֵאִתָּםme/it/TAMof themאֶת־הַשָּׁעָהet-hash/sha/Athe hourאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatרָוַחra/VACHit easedלוֹloto himוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himתְּמוֹלte/MOLyesterdayבַּשָּׁעָהbash/sha/Aat the hourהַשְּׁבִיעִיתhash/she/vi/ITthe seventhרָפְתָהra/fe/TAleftמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuhimהַקַּדָּחַת׃hak/kad/da/CHATthe fever

    Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.

53. 53

    וַיֵּדַעvay/YE/daand knewאָבִיהוּa/VI/huhis fatherכִּיkithatהָיְתָהha/ye/TAit wasהַשָּׁעָהhash/sha/Athe hourאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאָמַר־לוֹa/MAR-losaid to himיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusבִּנְךָbin/KHAyour sonחָיchaylivesוַיַּאֲמֵןvay/ya/a/MENand believedהוּאhuheוְכׇל־בֵּיתוֹ׃ve/KHOL-be/TOand his whole house

    So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.

54. 54

    זֶהzethisהָאוֹתha/OTthe signהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NIthe secondאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשָׂהa/SAdidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusבְּבֹאוֹbe/vo/Owhen he cameמִיהוּדָהmI/hu/DAout of Judaeaלְאֶרֶץle/E/retsto the land ofהַגָּלִיל׃Hag/ga/LILGalilee

    This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judæa into Galilee.
