1. 1

   וּבַיּוֹםAnd dayהַשְּׁלִישִׁיthe thirdהָיְתָהthere wasחֲתֻנָּהa marriageבְּקָנָהin Canaאֲשֶׁרwhichבַּגָּלִילof Galilee;וְשָׁםand there wasאֵםthe mother ofיֵשׁוּעַ׃Jesus:

   And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

2. 2

   וְיֵשׁוּעַAnd Jesusוְתַלְמִידָיוand his disciplesגַּם־הֵםthey tooהָיוּwereמִן־הַקְּרוּאִיםof the calledאֶל־הַחֲתֻנָּה׃to the marriage.

   And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

   וַיְהִיAnd it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרwhenכָּלָהran outהַיָּיִןthe wine,וַתֹּאמֶרand saidאֵםthe mother ofיֵשׁוּעַJesusאֵלָיוunto him,אֵיןThere is noלָהֶםto themיָיִן׃wine.

   And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

4. 4

   וַיֹּאמֶרSaithאֵלֶיהָunto her,יֵשׁוּעַJesusמַה־לִּיwhat have Iוָלָךְto do with you?אִשָּׁהWoman,עִתִּיmine hourעֲדַיִןis not yetלֹא־בָאָה׃come.

   Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

5. 5

   וַתֹּאמֶרSaithאִמּוֹHis motherאֶל־הַמְשָׁרֲתִיםunto the servants,כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרWhatsoeverיֹאמַרhe saithלָכֶםunto you,תַּעֲשׂוּ׃do it.

   His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

6. 6

   וְשָׁםAnd there wereשִׁשָּׁהsixכַדֵּי־אֶבֶןwaterpots of stone,עֲרוּכִיםsetכְּמִשְׁפַּטafter the manner ofהַיְּהוּדִיםthe Jews'לְטׇהֳרָתָםpurifying,שְׁתַּיִםtwoאוֹ־שָׁלשׁor threeבַּתִּיםfirkinsיָכִילcontainingכׇּל־אֶחָד׃apiece.

   And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.

   וַיֹּאמֶרSaithאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,יֵשׁוּעַJesusמַלְאוּFillהַכַּדִּיםthe waterpotsמָיִםwith water.וַיְמַלְאוּםAnd they filled themעַד־לְמָעְלָה׃up to the brim.

   Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

8. 8

   וַיֹּאמֶרAnd he saithשַׁאֲבוּ־נָאunto them, Draw out now,וְהָבִיאוּand bearאֶל־רַבunto the governor ofהַמְּסִבָּהthe feast.וַיָּבִיאוּ׃And they bare it.

   And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.

9. 9

   וַיִּטְעַםWhen had tastedרֹאשׁthe ruler ofהַמְּסִבָּהthe feastאֶת־הַמַּיִםthe waterאֲשֶׁרthatנֶהֶפְכוּwas madeלְיַיִןwine,וְלֹאandיָדַעknew notמֵאַיִןwhenceהוּאit was:וְהַמְשָׁרֲתִיםbut the servantsאֲשֶׁר־שָׁאֲבוּwhich drewאֶת־הַמַּיִםthe waterיָדָעוּknew;וַיִּקְרָאcalledרֹאשׁ־הַמְּסִבָּהthe governor of the feastאֶל־הֶחָתָן׃the bridegroom,

   When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

    וַיֹּאמֶרAnd saithאֵלָיוunto him,כׇּל־אִישׁEvery manיִתֵּןdoth set forthבָּרִאשׁוֹנָהat the beginningאֶת־הַיַּיִןwine;הַטּוֹבgoodוְאַחֲרֵיand whenשְׁתוֹתָםmen have drunkלִרְוָיָהwell,יִתֵּןthen he setteth forthלָהֶםunto themאֶת־הַגָּרוּעַthat which is worse:וְאַתָּהbut youצָפַנְתָּhast keptהַיַּיִןwineהַטּוֹבthe goodעַד־עָתָּה׃until now.

    And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

11. 11

    זֹאתThisרֵאשִׁיתbeginning ofהָאֹתוֹתmiraclesאֲשֶׁרwhichעָשָׂהdidיֵשׁוּעַJesusבְּקָנָהin CanaאֲשֶׁרwhichבְּאֶרֶץofהַגָּלִילGalilee,וַיְגַלand manifested forthאֶת־כְּבוֹדוֹhis glory;וַיַּאֲמִינוּand believedבוֹon him.תַּלְמִידָיו׃his disciples

    This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

12. 12

    וַיְהִיAfterאַחֲֵרי־כֵןthisוַיֵּרֶדhe went downאֶל־כְּפַר־נַחוּםto Capernaum,הוּאhe,וְאִמּוֹand his mother,וְאֶחָיוand his brethren,וְתַלְמִידָיוand his disciples:וְלֹאand they continuedאָרְכוּnotלָהֶםunto themשָׁםthereהַיָּמִים׃many days.

    After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.

13. 13

    וַיִּקְרְבוּAnd drew nigh,יְמֵיthe days ofחַג־הַפֶּסַחthe passover feastאֲשֶׁרwhichלַיְּהוּדִיםof the Jews,וַיַּעַלand went upיֵשׁוּעַJesusיְרוּשָׁלָיִם׃to Jerusalem,

    And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

14. 14

    וַיִּמְצָאAnd foundבַמִּקְדָּשׁin the templeמֹכְרֵיthose that soldבָקָרoxenוָצֹאןand sheepוּבְנֵיandיוֹנָהdoves,וּפֹרְטֵיand the changers ofהַכֶּסֶףmoneyיֹשְׁבִיםsitting:שָׁם׃there

    And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

15. 15

    וַיִּקַּחAnd he tookחֲבָלִיםsmall cords,וַיְעַבְּתֵםand twisted themלְשׁוֹטinto a scourge,וַיְגָרֶשׁhe drove outכֻּלָּםallמִן־הַמִּקְדָּשׁof the temple,וְאֵתandהַצֹּאןthe sheep,וְאֵתandהַבָּקָרthe oxen;וַיְפַזֵּרand poured outאֶת־מְעוֹתthe moneyהַשֻּׂלְחָנִיםof the changers,וַיַּהֲפֹךand overthrewשֻׁלְחֲנֹתֵיהֶם׃the tables;

    And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

16. 16

    וְאֶל־מֹכְרֵיAnd said unto them that soldהַיּוֹנִיםdoves,אָמָרsaid he,הוֹצִיאוּTakeאֵלֶּהthese thingsמִזֶּהhence;וְאַל־תַּעֲשׂוּmake notאֶת־בֵּיתthe house ofאָבִיmy Fatherלְבֵיתan house ofמִסְחָר׃merchandise.

    And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.

17. 17

    וַיִּזְכְּרוּAnd rememberedתַלְמִידָיוhis disciplesאֶת־הַכָּתוּבthat it was written,כִּי־קִנְאַתThe zeal ofבֵּיתְךָyour houseאֲכָלָתְנִי׃hath eaten me up.

    And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

18. 18

    וַיַּעֲנוּThen answeredהַיְּהוּדִיםthe Jewsוַיֹּאמְרוּand saidאֵלָיוunto him,אֵי־זוֹWhatאוֹתsignתַּרְאֵנוּshew you unto us,שֶׁתַּעֲשֶׂהseeing that you doכָזֹאת׃these things?

    Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

19. 19

    וַיַּעַןAnsweredיֵשׁוּעַJesusוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֲלֵיהֶםunto them,הִרְסוּDestroyאֶת־הַהֵיכׇלtemple,הַזֶּהthisוּבִשְׁלשָׁהand in threeיָמִיםdaysאֲקִימֶנּוּ׃I will raise it up.

    Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

20. 20

    וַיֹּאמְרוּThen saidהַיְּהוּדִיםthe Jews,הִנֵּהbehold,אַרְבָּעִיםFortyוָשֵׁשׁand sixשָׁנָהyearsנִבְנָהwas in building,הַהֵיכׇלtempleהַזֶּהthisוְאַתָּהand will youבִּשְׁלשָׁהin threeיָמִיםdays?תְּקִימֶנּוּ׃rear it up

    Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

21. 21

    וְהוּאBut heדִּבֶּרspakeעַל־הֵיכַלof the temple ofגְּוִיָּתוֹ׃his body.

    But he spake of the temple of his body.

22. 22

    וְאַחֲרֵיWhen thereforeקוּמוֹhe was risenמִן־הַמֵּתִיםfrom the dead,זָכְרוּrememberedתַלְמִידָיוhis disciplesכִּי־זֹאתthat thisאָמַרhe had saidלָהֶםunto them;וַיַּאֲמִינוּand they believedבַכָּתוּבthe scripture,וּבַדָּבָרand the wordאֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּרwhich had said.יֵשׁוּעַ׃Jesus

    When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

23. 23

    וַיְהִיNowבִּהְיֹתוֹwhen he wasבִירוּשָׁלַיִםin Jerusalemבְּחַג־הַפֶּסַחat the passover,וַיַּאֲמִינוּbelievedרַבִּיםmanyבִּשְׁמוֹin his name,כִּיwhenרָאוּthey sawהָאֹתוֹתthe miraclesאֲשֶׁרwhichעָשָׂה׃he did.

    Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.

24. 24

    וְהוּאBut he,יֵשׁוּעַJesus,לֹאdid notהֶאֱמִיןcommit himselfלָהֶםunto them,עַל־אֲשֶׁרbecauseיָדַעhe knewאֶת־כֻּלָּם׃all men,

    But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,

25. 25

    וְלֹאAndהִצְטָרֵךְneeded notלְעֵדוּתthat any should testifyאִישׁa manעַל־הָאָדָםof man:כִּיforהוּאheיָדַעknewמַה־בְּקֶרֶבwhat was inהָאָדָם׃man.

    And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
