   Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

   But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

   To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

   And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

   And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

   This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

   Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

   All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

   אָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amהַפָּתַחhap/PA/tachthe doorאִישׁisha manכִּי־יָבוֹאki-ya/VOif entersבִיviby meיִוָּשֵׁעַyiv/va/SHE/ahe will be savedוּבְצֵאתוֹu/ve/tse/TOand in his going outוּבְבוֹאוֹu/ve/vo/Oand in his coming inיִמְצָאyim/TSAhe will findמִרְעֶה׃mir/Epasture

   I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

    הַגַּנָּבhag/gan/NAVthe thiefלֹאlonotיָבוֹאya/VOcomesכִּיkibutאִםimonlyלִגְנוֹבlig/NOVto stealוְלַהֲרוֹגve/la/ha/ROGand to killוּלְאַבֵּדu/le/ab/BEDand to destroyוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand IבָאתִיVA/tihave comeלְהָבִיאle/ha/VIto bringלָהֶםla/HEMto themחַיִּיםchay/YIMlifeוּמְלֹאu/me/LOand the fullness ofסִפְקָם׃sif/KAMtheir sufficiency

    The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

    I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

    וְהַשָּׂכִירve/has/sa/KHIRand the hired manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹאlonotרֹעֶהro/Ea shepherdהוּאhuis heוְהַצֹּאןve/hats/TSONand the sheepלֹא־צֹאנוֹlo-tso/NOnot his sheepהוּאhuheיִרְאֶהyir/Eseesכִּי־בָאki-vathat comesהַזְּאֵבhaz/ze/EVthe wolfוְעָזַבve/a/ZAVand leavesאֶת־הַצֹּאןet-hats/TSONthe sheepוָנָסva/NASand fleesוְהַזְּאֵבve/haz/ze/EVand the wolfיַחֲטֹףya/cha/TOFsnatchesוְהֵפִיץve/he/FITSand scattersאֶת־הַצֹּאן׃et-hats/TSONthe sheep

    But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

    הַשָּׂכִירhas/sa/KHIRthe hired manיָנוּסya/NUSfleesכִּיkiforשָׂכִירsa/KHIRa hired manהוּאhuis heוְלֹאve/LOand notיִדְאַגyid/AGdoes he careלַצֹּאן׃lats/TSONfor the sheep

    The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

14. 14

    אֲנִיa/NIIהָרֹעֶהha/ro/Ethe shepherdהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodוְיָדַעְתִּיve/ya/DA/tiand I knowאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־לִיet-a/SHER-lithose who are mineוְנוֹדַעְתִּיve/no/DA/tiand I am knownלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERto those who areלִי׃limine

    I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

15. 15

    כַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherיֹדֵעַyo/DE/aknowsאֹתִיo/TImeוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiknow Iאֶת־הָאָבet-Ha/AVthe Fatherוְאֶת־נַפְשִׁיve/ET-naf/SHIand my soulאֶתֵּןet/TENI giveבְּעַדbe/ADforהַצֹּאן׃hats/TSONthe sheep

    As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

16. 16

    וְצֹאןve/TSONand sheepאֲחֵרוֹתa/che/ROTotherיֶשׁ־לִיyesh-liI haveאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹאlonotמִן־הַמִּכְלָאmin-ham/mikh/LAof the foldהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֹתָןo/TANthemעָלַיa/LAYI mustלְהָבִיאle/ha/VIbringוְשָׁמְעוּve/sha/me/Uand they shall hearאֶת־קוֹלִיet-ko/LImy voiceוְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAand there shall beמִכְלָאmikh/LAfoldאַחַתa/CHAToneוְרֹעֶהve/ro/Eand shepherdאֶחָד׃e/CHADone

    And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

17. 17

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeאֹהֵבo/HEVlovesאֹתִיo/TImeאָבִיA/VImy Fatherכִּיkibecauseאֶת־נַפְשִׁיet-naf/SHImy soulאֶתֵּןet/TENI giveלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatאָשׁוּבa/SHUVI may againוְאֶקָּחֶהָ׃ve/ek/ka/che/HAand take it

    Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

18. 18

    וְאִישׁve/ISHand a manלֹאlonotיִקָּחֶנָּהyik/ka/CHEN/nadoes take itמֵאִתִּיme/it/TIfrom meכִּיkibutאִםimonlyאֲנִיa/NIIמֵעַצְמִיme/ats/MIof myselfאֶתְּנֶנָּהet/te/NEN/nagive itיֶשׁ־בְּיָדִיyesh-be/ya/DIit is in my handלָתֵתla/TETto giveאֹתָהּo/TAitוּבְיָדִיu/ve/ya/DIand in my handלָשׁוּבla/SHUVagainלְקַחְתָּהּle/kach/TAto take itהַמִּצְוָהham/mits/VAthe commandmentהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisקִבַּלְתִּיkib/bal/TII receivedמֵעִםme/IMfromאָבִי׃A/VImy Father

    No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

19. 19

    וַתְּהִיvat/te/HIand there wasמַחֲלֹקֶתma/cha/LO/keta divisionגַּם־בַּפַּעַםgam-bap/PA/amalso at the timeהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisבֵּיןbenamongהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsעַל־הַדְּבָרִיםal-had/de/va/RIMover the wordsהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.

20. 20

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמֵהֶםme/HEMof themשֵׁדsheda demonבּוֹbois in himוּמְשֻׁגָּעu/me/shug/GAand madהוּאhuis heלָמָּהLAM/mawhyתִשְׁמְעוּtish/me/Udo you listenאֵלָיו׃e/LAYVto him

    And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?

21. 21

    וַאֲחֵרִיםva/a/che/RIMand othersאָמְרוּa/me/RUsaidדְּבָרָיוde/va/RAYVhis wordsאֵינָםe/NAMare notכְּדִבְרֵיke/div/REthe words ofאִישׁisha manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoשֵׁדsheda demonבּוֹbois in himהֲיוּכַלha/YU/khalcanשֵׁדsheda demonלִפְקֹחַlif/KO/achopenעֵינֵיe/NEthe eyes ofעִוְרִים׃iv/RIMthe blind

    Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

22. 22

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it wasחַגchagthe feast ofהַחֲנֻכָּהha/cha/nuk/KAthe dedicationבִּירוּשָׁלָיִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוְהָעֵתve/ha/ETand the time wasסְתָיו׃se/TAYVwinter

    And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

23. 23

    וְיֵשׁוּעַve/Ye/SHU/aand Jesusמִתְהַלֵּךְmit/hal/LEKHwas walkingבַּמִּקְדָּשׁbam/mik/DASHin the templeבְּאוּלַםbe/u/LAMin the porch ofשְׁלֹמֹה׃She/lo/MOSolomon

    And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

24. 24

    וַיָּסֹבּוּvay/ya/SOB/buand surroundedאֹתוֹo/TOhimהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himעַד־אָנָהad-A/nahow longתַּתְלֶהtat/LEwill you hold in suspenseאֶת־נַפְשֵׁנוּet-naf/SHE/nuour soulאִם־הַמָּשִׁיחַim-Ham/ma/SHI/achif the Messiahאַתָּהat/TAare youאֱמׇר־נָאe/MOR-nasay nowוְנִשְׁמְעָהve/nish/me/Aand let us hearבְאׇזְנֵינוּ׃ve/oz/NE/nuwith our ears

    Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

25. 25

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredאֹתָםo/TAMthemיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהֵןhenbeholdהִגַּדְתִּיhig/GAD/tiI have toldאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youוְלֹאve/LOand notהֶאֱמַנְתֶּםhe/e/man/TEMhave you believedבִּיbiin meהַמַּעֲשִׂיםham/ma/a/SIMthe worksאֲשֶׁר־אֲנִיa/SHER-a/NIthat Iעֹשֶׂהo/SEdoבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofאָבִיA/VImy Fatherהֵםhemtheyיָעִידוּya/i/DUtestifyעָלָי׃a/LAYabout me

    Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

26. 26

    וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youלֹאlonotתַאֲמִינוּta/a/MI/nudo believeכִּיkibecauseלֹאlonotמִצֹּאנִיmits/tso/NIof my sheepאַתֶּםat/TEMare youכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27. 27

    צֹאנִיtso/NImy sheepתִּשְׁמַעְנָהtish/MA/nahearאֶת־קוֹלִיet-ko/LImy voiceוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iיְדַעְתִּיןye/da/TINknow themוְאַחֲרַיve/a/cha/RAYand after meתֵּלַכְנָה׃te/LAKH/nathey go

    My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28. 28

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֶתֵּןet/TENgiveלָהֶןla/HENto themחַיֵּיchay/YEthe life ofעוֹלָםo/LAMeternityוְלֹאve/LOand notתֹאבַדְנָהto/vad/NAwill they perishלָנֶצַחla/NE/tsachforeverוְאִישׁve/ISHand a manלֹא־יַחֲטֹףlo-ya/cha/TOFwill not snatchאֶתְהֶןet/HENthemמִיָּדִי׃miy/ya/DIout of my hand

    And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29. 29

    אָבִיA/VImy Fatherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנְתָנָןne/ta/NANgave themלִיlito meגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatהוּאhuis Heעַל־כֹּלal-kolabove allוְאִישׁve/ISHand a manלֹא־יַחֲטֹףlo-ya/cha/TOFwill not snatchאֶתְהֶןet/HENthemמִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the hand ofאָבִי׃A/VImy Father

    My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

30. 30

    אֲנִיa/NIIוְאָבִיve/A/VIand my Fatherאֶחָדe/CHADoneאֲנָחְנוּ׃a/NACH/nuare we

    I and my Father are one.

31. 31

    אָזazthenיָרִימוּya/RI/mupicked upהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsאֲבָנִיםa/va/NIMstonesכְּפַעַם־בְּפַעַםke/FA/am-be/FA/amas at other timesלְסׇקְלוֹ׃le/sok/LOto stone him

    Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

32. 32

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredאֹתָםo/TAMthemיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusמַעֲשִׂיםma/a/SIMworksטוֹבִיםto/VIMgoodרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyהֶרְאֵיתִיher/e/TIhave I shownאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמֵאֵתme/ETfromאָבִיA/VImy Fatherמַהmawhichהַמַּעֲשֶׂהham/ma/a/SEis the workאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָלָיוa/LAYVfor itתִּסְקְלֻנִי׃tis/ke/lu/NIdo you stone me

    Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

33. 33

    וַיַּעֲנוּvay/ya/a/NUand answeredהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsאֹתוֹo/TOhimלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingעַל־מַעֲשֶׂהal-ma/a/SEfor a workטוֹבtovgoodלֹאlonotנִסְקֹלnis/KOLdo we stoneאֹתְךָot/KHAyouכִּיkibutאִםimonlyעַל־גַּדֶּפְךָal-gad/def/KHAfor your blasphemingאֶת־אֱלֹהִיםet-e/lo/HIMGodוְעַל־אֲשֶׁרve/AL-a/SHERand becauseאָדָםa/DAMa manאַתָּהat/TAare youוַתַּעַשׂvat/TA/asand you makeעַצְמְךָats/me/KHAyourselfאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

34. 34

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredאֹתָםo/TAMthemיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהֲלֹאha/LOis it notכָתוּבkha/TUVwrittenבְּתוֹרַתְכֶםbe/to/rat/KHEMin your lawאֲנִיa/NIIאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tisaidאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMgodsאַתֶּם׃at/TEMare you

    Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

35. 35

    הֵןhenifיִקָּרֵאyik/ka/REare calledאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMgodsלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERthose to whomהָיָהha/YAcameדְּבַרde/VARthe word ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themוְהַכָּתוּבve/hak/ka/TUVand the scriptureלֹא־יוּפָר׃lo-yu/FARcannot be broken

    If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36. 36

    וְאֵיךְve/EKHand howתֹּאמְרוּto/me/RUdo you sayלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERof him whomקִדְּשׁוֹkid/de/SHOsanctifiedהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherוַיִּשְׁלָחֵהוּvay/yish/la/CHE/huand sent himלָעוֹלָםla/o/LAMinto the worldמְגַדֵּףme/gad/DEFblasphemeאָתָּהAT/tayouיַעַןYA/anbecauseאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidבֶּן־אֱלֹהִיםben-E/lo/HIMthe Son of Godאָנִי׃A/niam I

    Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

37. 37

    אִם־לֹאim-loif notאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEI doאֶת־מַעֲשֵׂיet-ma/a/SEthe works ofאָבִיA/VImy Fatherאַל־תַּאֲמִינוּal-ta/a/MI/nudo not believeלִי׃lito me

    If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

38. 38

    וְאִם־עֹשֶׂהve/IM-o/SEand if doאֲנִיa/NIIגַּםgamevenאִםimifלֹא־תַאֲמִינוּlo-ta/a/MI/nuyou do not believeלִיlimeהַאֲמִינוּha/a/MI/nubelieveלְמַעֲשָׂיle/ma/a/SAYmy worksלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתֵּדְעוּted/Uyou may knowוְתַאֲמִינוּve/ta/a/MI/nuand believeכִּי־בִיki-vithat in me isהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iבּוֹ׃boin Him

    But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

    אָזazthenיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vuagainוִיבַקְשׁוּvi/vak/SHUthey soughtלְתָפְשׂוֹle/ta/fe/SOto seize himוַיִּמָּלֵטvay/yim/ma/LETand he escapedמִיָּדָם׃miy/ya/DAMfrom their hand

    Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,

40. 40

    וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he wentוַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand returnedאֶל־עֵבֶרel-E/verto the other side ofהַיַּרְדֵּןhay/Yar/DENthe Jordanאֶל־הַמָּקוֹםel-ham/ma/KOMinto the placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereהִטְבִּיל־שָׁםhit/BIL-shambaptized thereיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnבַּתְּחִלָּהbat/te/chil/LAat the firstוַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand he stayedשָׁם׃shamthere

    And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.

    And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.
