    עַל־כֵּןthereforeבַּעֲזֹבleavingכָּעֵתthe-principles-ofרֵאשִׁיתthe-doctrine-ofדְּבַרthe-word-ofהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahנַעֲבֹרlet-us-go-onאֶל־הַשְּׁלֵמוּתunto-perfectionוְלֹאand-notנָשׁוּבlaying-againלָשִׁיתtheיְסוֹדֵיfoundation-ofהַתְּשׂוּבָהrepentanceמִמַּעֲשֵׂיfrom-works-ofמָוֶתdeathוְהָאֱמוּנָהand-of-faithבֵּאלֹהִים׃in-God

    Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

    וְתוֹרַתof-the-doctrine-ofהַטְּבִילוֹתbaptismsוּסְמִיכַתand-of-laying-on-ofיָדַיִםhandsוּתְחִיַּתand-of-resurrection-ofהַמֵּתִיםthe-deadוּמִשְׁפַּטand-of-judgmentעוֹלָם׃eternal

    Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

    וְאֶת־זֹאתand-thisנַעֲשֶׂהwill-we-doאִם־יִתֵּןif-permitהָאֵל׃God

    And this will we do, if God permit.

    כִּיbecauseכֹלallאֲשֶׁר־נָגַהּwho-were-once-enlightenedעֲלֵיהֶםupon-themהָאוֹרthe-lightוְטָעֲמוּand-have-tastedמִמַּתְּנַתof-the-gift-ofהַשָּׁמַיִםheavenוְנִתַּןand-were-madeלָהֶםto-themחֶלְקָםpartakersבְּרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁ׃of-the-Holy-Ghost

    For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

    וְטָעֲמוּand-have-tastedאֶת־דְּבַר־אֱלֹהִיםthe-word-of-Godהַטּוֹבgoodוְכֹחוֹתand-the-powers-ofהָעוֹלָםthe-worldהַבָּאto-comeוְהֵםif-theyנָסוֹגוּshall-fallאָחוֹר׃away

    And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

    נִמְנְעוּit-is-impossibleמֵהִתְחַדֵּשׁto-renew-themעוֹדagainלִתְשׁוּבָהunto-repentanceכִּיseeingחָזְרוּthey-crucifyלִצְלֹבafreshלָהֶםto-themselvesאֶת־בֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Son-of-Godוַיִּתְּנוּהוּand-put-himלְמָשָׁל׃to-an-open-shame

    If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

    כִּיbecauseהָאֲדָמָהthe-earthהַשּׁוֹתָהwhich-drinketh-inאֶת־הַגֶּשֶׁםthe-rainהַיֹּרֵדthat-comethעָלֶיהָupon-itלְמַכְבִּירoftוּמוֹצִיאָהand-bringeth-forthעֵשֶׂבherbsטוֹבmeetלְעֹבְדֶיהָfor-them-by-whom-it-is-dressedתִּשָׂאreceivethבְרָכָהblessingמֵאֵתfromהָאֱלֹהִים׃the-God

    For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

    וַאֲשֶׁרbut-that-whichתּוֹצִיאbearethקוֹץthornsוְדַרְדַּרand-briersנִמְאָסָהis-rejectedהִיאitוּקְרוֹבָהand-is-nighלַמְּאֵרָהunto-cursingוְסוֹפָהּwhose-endלְהִשָׂרֵף׃to-be-burned

    But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

    אׇמְנָםtrulyיְדִידַיmy-belovedמֻבְטָחִיםpersuadedאֲנַחְנוּwe-areכִּיbecauseטֹבוֹתbetter-thingsמֵאֵלֶּהthan-theseבָּכֶםof-youוּקְרֹבוֹתand-things-that-accompanyלִישׁוּעָהsalvationאַףyeaכִּי־דִבַּרְנוּbecause-we have spokenכָּזֹאת׃such

    But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

    כִּיbecauseהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godלֹא־יְעַוֵּתis-not-unrighteousצֶדֶקin-justiceלִשְׁכֹּחַto-forgetאֶת־מַעֲשֵׂיכֶםyour-workוְאֶת־עֲמַלand-labor-ofאַהֲבַתְכֶםloveאֲשֶׁרwhichהֶרְאֵיתֶםyou-have-shewedלְמַעַןin-order-thatשְׁמוֹhis-nameשֶׁשֵּׁרַתֶּםthat-you-have-ministeredאֶת־הַקְּדֹשִׂיםthe-saintsוְעוֹדְכֶםand-you-are-stillמְשָׁרֲתִים׃ministering

    For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

    וְחֶפְצֵנוּand-we-desireשֶׁכׇּל־אֶחָדthat-every-oneמִכֶּםof-youיִשְׁקֹדdo-shewלִהְיוֹתthe-fullנָכוֹןassurance-ofלִבּוֹhis-heartבַּתִּקְוָהin-the-hopeעַד־הַקֵּץ׃unto-the-end

    And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

  12. 12

    שֶׁלּאthat-notתֵּעָצֵלוּyou-be-slothfulכִּיbutאִם־תֵּלְכוּbut-followersבְּעִקְּבוֹתof-them-whoיוֹרְשֵׁיinheritהַהַבְטָחוֹתthe-promisesבֶּאֱמוּנָהthrough-faithוְאֹרֶךְand-patienceנָפֶשׁ׃of-soul

    That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

    כִּיbecauseבְּהַבְטִיחַwhen-made-promiseאֱלֹהִיםGodאֶת־אַבְרָהָםto-Abrahamנִשְׁבַּעhe-swareבְּנַפְשׁוֹby-himselfיַעַןbecauseאֲשֶׁר־אֵיןhe-could-swear-by-noגָּדוֹלgreaterמִמֶּנּוּfrom-himלְהִשָּׁבַעto-swearבּוֹ׃in-him

    For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

  14. 14

    וַיֹּאמַרsayingכִּי־בָרֵךְsurely-blessingאֲבָרֶכְךָI-will-bless-youוְהַרְבָּהand-multiplyingאַרְבֶּהI-will-multiplyאוֹתְךָ׃you

    Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

    וַיְהִיand-it-came-to-passבְּהַאֲרִיךְafter-he-had-patiently-enduredנַפְשׁוֹin-soulוַיִּנְחַלhe-obtainedאֶת־הַהַבְטָחָה׃the-promise

    And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

    בְּנֵיthe-sons-ofהָאָדָםthe-manיִשָּׁבְעוּswearבַּגָּדוֹלby-the-greaterמֵהֶםthan-themselvesוְהַשְּׁבוּעָהand-an-oathלָהֶםto-themקֵץan-end-ofכׇּל־מַחֲלֹקֶתall-strifeבְּקִיּוּםfor-confirmationהַדָּבָר׃of-the-matter

    For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

  17. 17

    עַל־כֵּןthereforeכַּאֲשֶׁרwhenרָצָהwillingהָאֱלֹהִיםGodלְהַרְאוֹתto-shewבְּיוֹתֵרmore-abundantlyאֶת־יֹרְשֵׁיunto-the-heirs-ofהַהַבְטָחָהpromiseשֶׁלּא־תִשְׁתַּנֶּהthe-immutability-ofעֲצָתוֹhis-counselעָרַבconfirmedאֹתָהּitבִּשְׁבוּעָה׃with-an-oath

    Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

  18. 18

    לְמַעַןin-order-thatבִּשְׁנֵיby-twoדְבָרִיםthingsבִּלְתִּיnotמִשְׁתַּנִּיםimmutableאֲשֶׁרin-whichחָלִילָהit-was-impossibleלֵאלֹהִיםfor-Godמִשַּׁקֵּרto-lieבָּםthereinיִהְיֶהmight-haveלָּנוּweאֲשֶׁרwhoנַסְנוּhave-fled-for-refugeאֵלָיוto-himמִבְטַח־עֹזa-strong-consolationלֶאֱחֹזto-lay-hold-uponבַּתִּקְוָהthe-hopeהַנְּתוּנָהsetלְפָנֵינוּ׃before-us

    That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

    אֲשֶׁר־הִיאwhich-hope-we-haveלְנַפְשֵׁנוּof-the-soulכְּעֹגֶןas-an-anchorנָכוֹןboth-sureוְחָזָקand-stedfastוּמַגִּיעַand-enterethאֶל־מִבֵּיתinto-that-withinלַפָּרֹכֶת׃the-veil

    Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

  20. 20

    אֲשֶׁר־בָּאwhither-is-enteredשָׁמָּהthe-forerunnerבַּעֲדֵנוּfor-usיֵשׁוּעַeven-Jesusהָעֹבֵרwho-is-goneלְפָנֵינוּbefore-usוַיְהִי־כֹהֵןmade-a-priestגָּדוֹלhighלְעוֹלָםfor-everעַל־דִּבְרָתִיafter-the-order-ofמַלְכִּי־צֶדֶק׃Melchizedek

    Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
