   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeבְּעׇזְבֵנוּbe/oz/ve/NUleavingאֶת־רֵאשִׁיתet-re/SHITthe beginning ofלֶקַחLE/kachthe teaching ofהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahנַעֲבֹרna/a/VORlet us go onאֶל־הַשְּׁלֵמוּתel-hash/she/le/MUTto completenessוְלֹאve/LOand notנָשׁוּבna/SHUVlet us returnלָשִׁיתla/SHITto layיְסוֹדye/SODthe foundation ofהַתְּשׁוּבָהhat/te/shu/VArepentanceמִמַּעֲשֵׂיmim/ma/a/SEfrom works ofמָוֶתMA/vetdeathוְהָאֱמוּנָהve/ha/e/mu/NAand faithבֵּאלֹהִים׃be/lo/HIMin God

   Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

   לֶקַחLE/kachthe teaching ofהַטְּבִילוֹתhat/te/vi/LOTbaptismsוּסְמִיכַתu/se/mi/KHATand the laying on ofיָדַיִםya/DA/yimhandsוּתְחִיַּתu/te/chiy/YATand the resurrection ofהַמֵּתִיםham/me/TIMthe deadוּמִשְׁפַּטu/mish/PATand the judgment ofעוֹלָם׃o/LAMeternity

   Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

   וְאֶת־זֹאתve/ET-zotand thisנַעֲשֶׂהna/a/SEwe will doאִם־יִתֵּןim-yit/TENif permitsאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

   And this will we do, if God permit.

4. 4

   כִּיkiforנִמְנָעnim/NAit is impossibleהוּאhuit isלְאֵלֶּהle/EL/leto suchאֲשֶׁר־נָגַהּa/SHER-na/GAon whom shoneעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themהָאוֹרha/ORthe lightפַּעַםPA/amonceאַחַתa/CHATonceוְטָעֲמוּve/ta/a/MUand who tastedמִמַּתְּנַתmim/mat/te/NATof the gift ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimheavenוְנִתַּןve/nit/TANand was givenלָהֶםla/HEMto themחֵלֶקCHE/leksharersבְּרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁ׃be/RU/ach-hak/KO/deshin the Holy Spirit

   For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

   וְטָעֲמוּve/ta/a/MUand tastedאֶת־דְּבַר־אֱלֹהִיםet-de/VAR-e/lo/HIMthe word of Godהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodוְאֶת־גְּבוּרוֹתve/ET-ge/vu/ROTand the powers ofהָעוֹלָםha/o/LAMthe worldהַבָּא׃hab/BAto come

   And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6. 6

   אִם־יִפְּלוּim-yip/pe/LUif they fall awayלְחַדְּשָׁםle/chad/de/SHAMto renew themעוֹדodagainלִתְשׁוּבָהlit/shu/VAto repentanceבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERsinceהֵםhemtheyצֹלְבִיםtsol/VIMcrucifyingלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesאֶת־בֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-Ben-ha/e/lo/HIMthe Son of Godשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainוְשָׂמִיםve/sa/MIMand puttingאוֹתוֹo/TOhimלְחֶרְפָּה׃le/cher/PAto disgrace

   If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

   כִּיkiforהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAthe groundהַשּׁוֹתָהhash/sho/TAthat drinksאֶת־הַגֶּשֶׁםet-hag/GE/shemthe rainהַבָּאhab/BAthat comesעָלֶיהָa/LE/haon itפְּעָמִיםpe/a/MIMtimesרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyוּמוֹצִיאָהu/mo/tsi/Aand brings forthעֵשֶׂבE/sevplantsטוֹבtovgoodלְעֹבְדֶיהָle/ov/de/HAfor those who work itתִּשָּׂאtis/SAreceivesבְרָכָהve/ra/KHAblessingמֵאֵתme/ETfromהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

   For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

   וַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand that whichתּוֹצִיאto/TSIbearsקוֹצִיםko/TSIMthornsוְשָׁמִירve/sha/MIRand briersנִמְאָסָהnim/a/SAis rejectedהִיאhiitוּקְרוֹבָהu/ke/ro/VAand nearלַמְּאֵרָהlam/me/e/RAto a curseוְסוֹפָהּve/so/FAand its endלְהִשָּׂרֵף׃le/his/sa/REFis to be burned

   But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

   אֲבָלa/VALbutיְדִידַיye/di/DAYmy belovedבְּטוּחִיםbe/tu/CHIMconfidentאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMabout youטֹבוֹתto/VOTbetter thingsמֵאֵלֶּהme/EL/lethan theseוְנִלְווֹתve/nil/VOTand accompanyingאֶל־הַיְשׁוּעָהel-hay/shu/Ato salvationגַּםgamevenכִּיkithatנְדַבֵּרne/dab/BERwe speakכָּזֹאת׃ka/ZOTso

   But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

    כִּיkiforלֹאlonotעַוָּלav/VALunjustהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלִשְׁכֹּחַlish/KO/achto forgetאֶת־מַעֲשֵׂכֶםet-ma/a/se/KHEMyour workוְאֶת־עֲמַלve/ET-a/MALand the labor ofאַהֲבַתְכֶםa/ha/vat/KHEMyour loveאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהֶרְאֵיתֶםher/e/TEMyou showedלִשְׁמוֹlish/MOtoward His nameבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERin thatשֵׁרַתֶּםshe/rat/TEMyou servedאֶת־הַקְּדֹשִׁיםet-hak/ke/do/SHIMthe saintsוְעוֹדְכֶםve/od/KHEMand you stillמְשָׁרֲתִים׃me/sha/ra/TIMserve

    For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

11. 11

    וְחָפַצְנוּve/cha/fats/NUand we desireכִּיkithatכׇל־אִישׁkhol-ishevery manמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youיַרְאֶהyar/Eshowאֶת־הַחָרִיצוּתet-ha/cha/ri/TSUTthe diligenceהַהִיאha/HIthatלִמְלֹאlim/LOto the fullness ofבֶטַחVE/tachthe assurance ofהַתִּקְוָהhat/tik/VAhopeעַד־הַקֵּץ׃ad-hak/KETSto the end

    And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

12. 12

    לְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notתֵעָצְלוּte/a/tse/LUyou be slothfulכִּיkibutאִם־תֵּלְכוּim-tel/KHUrather walkבְּעִקְּבוֹתbe/ik/ke/VOTin the footsteps ofיוֹרְשֵׁיyor/SHEthose who inheritהַהַבְטָחוֹתha/hav/ta/CHOTthe promisesבֶּאֱמוּנָהbe/e/mu/NAthrough faithוּבְאֹרֶךְu/ve/O/rekhand in length ofרוּחַ׃RU/achspirit

    That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

13. 13

    כִּיkiforבְּהַבְטִיחַbe/hav/TI/achwhen promisedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֶת־אַבְרָהָםet-Av/ra/HAMto AbrahamיַעַןYA/ansinceלֹא־יָכֹלlo-ya/KHOLhe could notלְהִשָּׁבַעle/hish/SHA/vato swearבְּגָדוֹלbe/ga/DOLby a greaterמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuthan Heנִשְׁבַּעnish/BAHe sworeבְּנַפְשׁוֹ׃be/naf/SHOby Himself

    For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

14. 14

    לֵאמֹרle/MORsayingכִּי־בָרֵךְki-va/REKHthat blessאֲבָרֶכְךָa/va/rekh/KHAI will bless youוְהַרְבָּהve/har/BAand multiplyאַרְבֶּהar/BEI will multiplyאוֹתְךָ׃ot/KHAyou

    Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

15. 15

    וְכֵןve/KHENand soאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהֶאֱרִיךְhe/e/RIKHhe waited longנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis soulהִשִּׂיגhis/SIGhe obtainedאֶת־הַהַבְטָחָה׃et-ha/hav/ta/CHAthe promise

    And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

16. 16

    כִּיkiforבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofהָאָדָםha/a/DAMmenאׇמְנָםom/NAMtrulyיִשָּׁבְעוּyish/sha/ve/Uswearבַּגָּדוֹלbag/ga/DOLby the greaterוְהַשְּׁבוּעָהve/hash/she/vu/Aand the oathלְקַיֵּםle/kay/YEMto confirmהִיאhiisלָהֶםla/HEMfor themקֵץketsis an end ofכׇּל־רִיב׃kol-rivevery dispute

    For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

17. 17

    בְּזֹאתbe/ZOTin thisכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenרָצָהra/TSAwantedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלְהַרְאוֹתle/har/OTto showיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreאֶת־יֹרְשֵׁיet-yor/SHEto the heirs ofהַהַבְטָחָהha/hav/ta/CHApromiseכִּיkiforלֹא־תִשְׁנֶהlo-tish/NEdoes not changeעֲצָתוֹa/tsa/TOHis counselקִיֵּםkiy/YEMconfirmedאֹתָהּo/TAitבִּשְׁבוּעָה׃bish/vu/Awith an oath

    Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

18. 18

    לְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatבִּשְׁנֵיbish/NEby twoדְבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־יִשְׁנוּlo-yish/NUdo not changeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹאlonotיְכַזֵּבye/khaz/ZEVlieבָּהֶםba/HEMin themאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodיִהְיֶהyih/YEthere may beלָנוּLA/nuto usנֶחָמָהne/cha/MAcomfortעַזָּהaz/ZAstrongאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנַסְנוּNAS/nuhave fledלַחְסוֹתlach/SOTto take refugeלְהַחֲזִיקle/ha/cha/ZIKto holdבַּתִּקְוָהbat/tik/VAto the hopeהַנְּתוּנָהhan/ne/tu/NAsetלְפָנֵינוּ׃le/fa/NE/nubefore us

    That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

19. 19

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלָנוּLA/nuwe haveכְּעֹגֶןke/O/genas an anchorלַנֶּפֶשׁlan/NE/feshfor the soulנָכוֹןna/KHONfirmוְחָזָקve/cha/ZAKand strongוּבָאָהu/VA/aand entersאֶל־אֲשֶׁרel-a/SHERto whereמִבֵּיתmib/BETfrom insideלַפָּרֹכֶת׃lap/pa/RO/khetthe veil

    Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

20. 20

    אֲשֶׁר־בָּאa/SHER-bawhere went inשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereהָעֹבֵרha/o/VERwho passedלְפָנֵינוּle/fa/NE/nubefore usבַּעֲדֵנוּba/a/DE/nufor usיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aeven Jesusוַיְהִי־כֹהֵןvay/HI-kho/HENand became a priestגָּדוֹלga/DOLhighלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverעַל־דִּבְרָתִיal-div/ra/TIafter the manner ofמַלְכִּי־צֶדֶק׃Mal/KI-TSE/dekMelchizedek

    Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
