   כִּיkiforכׇּל־כֹּהֵןkol-ko/HENevery priestגָּדוֹלga/DOLhighהַלָּקוּחַhal/la/KU/achtakenמִתּוֹךְmit/TOKHfrom amongבְּנֵי־אָדָםbe/NE-a/DAMthe sons of menמֻפְקָדmuf/KADis appointedהוּאhuheבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURforבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenבְּעִנְיְנֵיbe/in/ye/NEin matters ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלְהַקְרִיבle/hak/RIVto offerמְנָחוֹתme/na/CHOTgiftsוּזְבָחִיםu/ze/va/CHIMand sacrificesעַל־הַחֲטָאִים׃al-ha/cha/ta/IMfor sins

   For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:

   וְהוּאve/HUand heיָכוֹלya/KHOLis ableלַחְמֹלlach/MOLto have pityעַל־הַשֹּׁגֲגִיםal-hash/sho/ga/GIMon those who errוְהַתֹּעִיםve/hat/to/IMand those who strayכִּיkiforגַם־הוּאgam-huhe also isחֹלִיCHO/lisicknessסְבִיבָיו׃se/vi/VAYVaround him

   Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.

3. 3

   וּבַעֲבוּרu/va/a/VURand because ofזֹאתzotthisעָלָיוa/LAYVit is on himכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasבְּעַד־הָעָםbe/AD-ha/AMfor the peopleכֵּןkensoגַּם־בְּעַדgam-be/ADalso forנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhimselfלְהַקְרִיבle/hak/RIVto offerעַל־הַחֲטָאִים׃al-ha/cha/ta/IMfor sins

   And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.

   וְאֶת־הַכָּבוֹדve/ET-hak/ka/VODand the honorהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלֹא־יִקַּחlo-yik/KACHtakes notאִישׁisha manלְנַפְשׁוֹle/naf/SHOfor himselfכִּיkibutאִם־הַנִּקְרָאim-han/nik/RArather the one calledמֵאֵתme/ETbyהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodכְּאַהֲרֹן׃ke/A/ha/RONas Aaron

   And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

   וְכֵןve/KHENand soהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahלֹא־כִבֵּדlo-khib/BEDdid not glorifyאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹet-naf/SHOhimselfלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beכֹּהֵןko/HENa priestגָּדוֹלga/DOLhighכִּיkibutאִם־אֲשֶׁרim-a/SHERrather the one whoאָמַרa/MARsaidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himבְּנִיbe/NIMy Sonאַתָּהat/TAyou areאֲנִיa/NIIהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayיְלִדְתִּיךָ׃ye/lid/TI/khahave begotten you

   So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

   כַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasאָמַרa/MARHe saysגַּם־בְּמָקוֹםgam-be/ma/KOMalso in a placeאַחֵרa/CHERanotherאַתָּה־כֹהֵןat/TA-kho/HENyou are a priestלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMfor everעַל־דִּבְרָתִיal-div/ra/TIafter the manner ofמַלְכִּי־צֶדֶק׃Mal/KI-TSE/dekMelchizedek

   As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoבִּימֵיbi/MEin the days ofבְשָׂרוֹve/sa/ROhis fleshהִקְרִיבhik/RIVofferedתְּפִלּוֹתte/fil/LOTprayersוְתַחֲנוּנִיםve/ta/cha/nu/NIMand supplicationsבִּצְעָקָהbits/a/KAwith a cryגְדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatוּבִדְמָעוֹתu/vid/ma/OTand with tearsאֶלeltoאֲשֶׁרA/SHERthe One whoיָכֹלya/KHOLwas ableלְהוֹשִׁיעוֹle/ho/shi/Oto save himמִמָּוֶתmim/MA/vetfrom deathוַיֵּעָתֶר־לוֹvay/ye/A/ter-loand He was entreated by himמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofיִרְאָתוֹ׃yir/a/TOhis fear

   Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

   גַּםgamevenכִּי־הָיָהki-ha/YAthough he wasבֵּןBena Sonלָמַדla/MADhe learnedלִשְׁמוֹעַlish/MO/ato obeyמֵאֲשֶׁרme/a/SHERfrom whatסָבַל׃sa/VALhe suffered

   Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

   וְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand afterאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהֻשְׁלַםhush/LAMhe was made completeהָיָהha/YAhe becameלִמְחוֹלֵלlim/cho/LELthe author ofתְּשׁוּעַתte/shu/ATthe salvation ofעוֹלָמִיםo/la/MIMthe agesלְכׇל־שֹׁמְעָיו׃le/KHOL-shom/AYVto all who obey him

   And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

    נִקְרָאnik/RAcalledמֵאֵתme/ETofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodכֹּהֵןko/HENa priestגָּדוֹלga/DOLhighעַל־דִּבְרָתִיal-div/ra/TIafter the manner ofמַלְכִּי־צֶדֶק׃Mal/KI-TSE/dekMelchizedek

    Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

11. 11

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whomעָלָיוa/LAYVabout himיֶשׁ־לָנוּyesh-LA/nuwe haveרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmuchלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto sayוְקָשׁוֹתve/ka/SHOTand hardלְבָאֵרle/va/ERto explainיַעַןYA/ansinceכִּי־כָבְדוּki-kha/ve/DUthat have become heavyאׇזְנֵיכֶם׃oz/ne/KHEMyour ears

    Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

    כִּיkiforלְפִיle/FIaccording toהַזְּמַןhaz/ze/MANthe timeעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMon youלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beמְלַמְּדִיםme/lam/me/DIMteachersחֲסֵרִיםcha/se/RIMneedingאַתֶּםat/TEMyouכִּיkithatיְלַמֶּדְכֶםye/lam/med/KHEMwill teach youאִישׁishoneשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainמָהmawhichהֵםhemthey areרֵאשִׁיתre/SHITthe beginning ofדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe words ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוַתִּהְיוּvat/tih/YUand you have becomeכַּחֲסֵרֵיka/cha/se/REas those lackingחָלָבcha/LAVmilkוְלֹאve/LOand notמַאֲכָלma/a/KHALfoodבָּרִיא׃ba/RIsolid

    For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

    כִּיkiforכֹלkholeveryoneאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseמַאֲכָלוֹma/a/kha/LOfoodחָלָבcha/LAVis milkאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuis notמֵבִיןme/VINskilledבִּדְבַר־צֶדֶקbid/VAR-TSE/dekin the word of righteousnessכִּיkiforעוֹלָלo/LALa babeהוּא׃huhe is

    For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

14. 14

    וְהַמַּאֲכָלve/ham/ma/a/KHALand foodהַבָּרִיאhab/ba/RIsolidלַשְּׁלֵמִיםlash/she/le/MIMto the matureאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoמֵרֹבme/ROVby reason ofמַעֲשֶׂהma/a/SEpracticeחוּשֵׁיהֶםchu/she/HEMtheir sensesלִמֻּדִיםlim/mu/DIMtrainedלְהָבִיןle/ha/VINto understandבֵּין־טוֹבben-tovbetween goodלְרָע׃le/RAand evil

    But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
