   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERsinceנִשְׁאֲרָהnish/a/RAremainsלָנוּLA/nuusהַבְטָחָהhav/ta/CHAa promiseלָבוֹאla/VOto enterאֶל־מְנוּחָתוֹel-me/nu/cha/TOinto His restנִירָאNI/ralet us fearפֶּן־יֵרָאֶהpen-ye/ra/Elest seemאִישׁishanyoneמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youחָסֵרcha/SERto fall shortמִמֶּנָּה׃mim/MEN/naof it

   Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

   כִּיkiforגַם־אֵלֵינוּgam-e/LE/nuto us alsoבָּאָהba/Acameהַבְּשׂוֹרָהhab/be/so/RAthe good newsכְּבֹאָהּke/vo/Aas it cameאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themוְלָהֶםve/la/HEMand to themלֹא־הוֹעִילlo-ho/ILdid not profitדְּבַרde/VARthe word ofהַשְּׁמוּעָהhash/she/mu/Athe reportמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־הִתְעָרַבlo-hit/a/RAVit was not mixedבָּאֱמוּנָהba/e/mu/NAwith faithלַשֹּׁמְעִים׃lash/shom/IMin those who heard

   For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

   כִּיkiforאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהֶאֱמַנּוּhe/e/man/NUhave believedבָּאִיםba/IMenterאֶל־הַמְּנוּחָהel-ham/me/nu/CHAinto the restכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasאָמַרa/MARhe saidאֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּעְתִּיa/SHER-nish/BA/tiso I sworeבְאַפִּיve/ap/PIin My wrathאִם־יְבֹאוּןim-ye/vo/UNthey shall not enterאֶל־מְנוּחָתִיel-me/nu/cha/TIinto My restגַּםgamevenכִּיkithoughכָלוּkha/LUwere finishedהַמַּעֲשִׂיםham/ma/a/SIMthe worksמִמּוֹסְדוֹתmim/mos/DOTfrom the foundations ofהָעוֹלָם׃ha/o/LAMthe world

   For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

   כִּיkiforאָמַרa/MARhe spokeבְּמָקוֹםbe/ma/KOMin a placeאֶחָדe/CHADoneעַל־הַיּוֹםal-hay/YOMabout the dayהַשְּׁבִיעִיhash/she/vi/Iseventhכֹּהkothusוַיִּשְׁבֹּתvay/yish/BOTand He restedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהַשְּׁבִיעִיhash/she/vi/Iseventhמִכׇּל־מַעֲשָׂיו׃mik/KOL-ma/a/SAYVfrom all His works

   For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

   וּבַמָּקוֹםu/vam/ma/KOMand in the placeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisעוֹדodagainאִם־יְבֹאוּןim-ye/vo/UNthey shall not enterאֶל־מְנוּחָתִי׃el-me/nu/cha/TIinto My rest

   And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

   וְיַעַןve/YA/anand sinceאֵפוֹאe/FOthenכִּיkithatעוֹדodit remainsיֵשׁyeshthere areאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיָבֹאוּya/VO/uwill enterאֵלֶיהָe/LE/haitוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand those whoהִתְבַּשְּׂרוּhit/bas/se/RUreceived good newsבָּרִאשׁוֹנָהba/ri/sho/NAfirstלֹא־בָאוּlo-VA/udid not enterמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofחֶסְרוֹןches/RONthe lack ofאֱמוּנָה׃e/mu/NAfaith

   Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

   וְשׁוּבve/SHUVand againהוּאhuheשָׂםsamHe setיוֹםyoma dayאֶחָדe/CHADoneבְּאׇמְרוֹbe/om/ROsayingבְדָוִדve/Da/VIDin Davidהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayמִקֵּץmik/KETSafterיָמִיםya/MIMdaysרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasיֵאָמֵרye/a/MERit is saidהַיּוֹםhay/YOMtodayאִם־בְּקֹלוֹim-be/ko/LOif to His voiceתִשְׁמָעוּtish/MA/uyou will listenאַל־תַּקְשׁוּal-tak/SHUdo not hardenלְבַבְכֶם׃le/vav/KHEMyour heart

   Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

   כִּיkiforלוּluifהֵנִיחַhe/NI/achhad given restלָהֶםla/HEMto themיְהוֹשֻׁעַYe/ho/SHU/aJesusלֹא־דִבֶּרlo-dib/BERwould not have spokenאַחֲרֵי־כֵןa/cha/RE-khenafterwardעַל־יוֹםal-yomof a dayאַחֵר׃a/CHERanother

   For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

9. 9

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeנִשְׁאַרnish/ARremainsשַׁבָּתוֹןshab/ba/TONa sabbath restלְעַםle/AMfor the people ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

   There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

10. 10

    כִּיkiforאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthe one whoבָּאbaenteredאֶל־מְנוּחָתוֹel-me/nu/cha/TOinto His restגַּם־הוּאgam-huhe alsoשָׁבַתsha/VATrestedמִמַּעֲשָׂיוmim/ma/a/SAYVfrom his worksכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasשָׁבַתsha/VATrestedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodמִמַּעֲשָׂיו׃mim/ma/a/SAYVfrom His works

    For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeנִיגְעָהni/ge/Alet us laborלָבוֹאla/VOto enterאֶל־הַמְּנוּחָהel-ham/me/nu/CHAinto the restהַהִיאha/HIthatפֶּן־יִפֹּלpen-yip/POLlest he fallאִישׁishanyoneבְּמוֹפֵתbe/mo/FETafter the example ofחֶסְרוֹןches/RONthe lack ofהָאֱמוּנָהha/e/mu/NAfaithהַהוּא׃ha/HUthat

    Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

    כִּיkiforדְבַרde/VARthe word ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodחַיchaylivingהוּאhuisוְתַקִּיףve/tak/KIFand powerfulוְחַדve/CHADand sharperמִכׇּל־חֶרֶבmik/KOL-CHE/revthan every sword ofפִּיפִיּוֹתpi/fiy/YOTtwo edgesוְחֹדֵרve/cho/DERand piercingעַדadevenלְהַבְדִּילle/hav/DILdistinguishingבֵּיןbenbetweenנֶפֶשׁNE/feshsoulוְרוּחַve/RU/achand spiritוּבֵיןu/VENandפֶּרֶקPE/rekthe jointsוָמֹחַva/MO/achand marrowוּבֹחֵןu/vo/CHENand testsמַחְשְׁבוֹתmach/she/VOTthe thoughts ofהַלֵּבhal/LEVthe heartוּמְזִמּוֹתָיו׃u/me/zim/mo/TAYVand its intents

    For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13. 13

    וְאֵיןve/ENand there is noבְּרִיָּהbe/riy/YAa creatureאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־נִגְלְתָהlo-nig/le/TAis not revealedלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore Himכִּיkibutהַכֹּלhak/KOLall thingsעָרוֹםa/ROMnakedוְגָלוּיve/ga/LUYand openלְעֵינֵיle/e/NEbefore the eyes ofאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלָנוּLA/nuwe haveעִמּוֹim/MOwith Himדָּבָר׃da/VARa matter

    Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

14. 14

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבִּהְיוֹת־לָנוּbih/YOT-LA/nusince we haveכֹּהֵןko/HENa priestגָּדוֹלga/DOLhighרַבravgreatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoעָבַרa/VARpassed throughאֶל־הַשָּׁמַיִםel-hash/sha/MA/yimto the heavensיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusבֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִיםben-Ha/e/lo/HIMthe Son of Godנַחֲזִיקָהna/cha/zi/KAlet us hold fastבְּתוֹדָתֵנוּ׃be/to/da/te/NUour confession

    Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

15. 15

    כִּיkiforאֵיןenthere is notלָנוּLA/nuto usכֹּהֵןko/HENa priestגָּדוֹלga/DOLhighאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹא־יוּכַלlo-yu/KHALcannotלְהִתְעַצֵּבle/hit/ats/TSEVto be grievedעַל־חֳלָיֵנוּal-cho/la/YE/nuwith our weaknessesכִּיkibutאִם־נֻסָּהim-nus/SArather was testedבַכֹּלvak/KOLin allכָּמוֹנוּka/mo/NUlike usוּבְלִי־חֵטְא׃u/ve/LI-chetyet without sin

    For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

16. 16

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeנִקְרְבָהnik/re/VAlet us draw nearבֶּטַחBE/tachwith confidenceאֶל־כִּסֵּאel-kis/SEto the throne ofהַחֶסֶדha/CHE/sedgraceלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatנְרֻחָםne/ru/CHAMwe may obtain mercyוְנִמְצָאve/nim/TSAand findחֶסֶדCHE/sedgraceלְעֶזְרָהle/ez/RAfor helpבְּעֵתbe/ETin time ofמַחְסוֹר׃mach/SORneed

    Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
