1. 1

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuwe mustלָשׂוּםla/SUMto putלֵבlevheartיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERto whatשָׁמַעְנוּsha/MA/nuwe have heardפֶּן־יָלוּזוּpen-ya/lu/ZUlest we drift awayמִמֶּנּוּ׃mim/MEN/nufrom us

   Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

   כִּיkiforאִם־הַדָּבָרim-had/da/VARif the wordהַנֶּאֱמָרhan/ne/e/MARspokenעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughמַלְאָכִיםmal/a/KHIMangelsהָיָהha/YAwasנֶאֱמָןne/e/MANfaithfulוְכׇל־פֶּשַׁעve/KHOL-PE/shaand every transgressionוּמְרִיu/me/RIand rebellionלָקַחla/KACHreceivedגְּמוּלוֹge/mu/LOhis recompenseכַּמִּשְׁפָּט׃kam/mish/PATas was just

   For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

   אֵיךְekhhowנִמָּלֵטnim/ma/LETwill escapeאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweאִם־לֹאim-loif notנָשִׂיםna/SIMwe setלֵבlevheartלִישׁוּעָהli/shu/Asalvationגְדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatכָּזֹאתka/ZOTsuchאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהֵחֵלָּהhe/CHEL/labeganלְהִדָּבֵרle/hid/da/VERto be spokenבַּתְּחִלָּהbat/te/chil/LAat the firstבְּפִיbe/FIby the mouth ofהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordוַתָּקָםvat/TA/kamand was confirmedלָנוּLA/nuto usמֵאֵתme/ETbyשֹׁמְעָיו׃shom/AYVits hearers

   How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

   וְגַם־אֱלֹהִיםve/GAM-e/lo/HIMGod alsoמֵעִידme/IDtestifyעִמָּהֶםim/ma/HEMwith themבְּאֹתוֹתbe/o/TOTwith signsוּבְמוֹפְתִיםu/ve/mof/TIMand wondersוּבִגְבוּרוֹתu/vig/vu/ROTand mighty worksשֹׁנוֹתsho/NOTvariousוּבְמַתְּנוֹתu/ve/mat/te/NOTand with gifts ofרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁRU/ach-Hak/KO/deshthe Holy Spiritאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatחִלֵּקchil/LEKHe distributedכִּרְצוֹנוֹ׃kir/tso/NOaccording to His will

   God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

   כִּיkiforלֹאlonotתַּחַתTA/chatunderיַד־הַמַּלְאָכִיםyad-ham/mal/a/KHIMthe hand of the angelsשָׁתshatHe setאֶת־הָעוֹלָםet-ha/o/LAMthe worldהַבָּאhab/BAto comeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whichאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweמְדַבְּרִיםme/dab/be/RIMspeakבּוֹ׃boof it

   For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.

   וְאֶחָדve/e/CHADand oneבְּמָקוֹםbe/ma/KOMin a placeאֶחָדe/CHADoneהֵעִידhe/IDtestifiedלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמָה־אֱנוֹשׁma-e/NOSHwhat is manכִּי־תִזְכְּרֶנּוּki-tiz/ke/REN/nuthat You remember himוּבֶן־אָדָםu/VEN-a/DAMand the son of manכִּיkithatתִפְקְדֶנּוּ׃tif/ke/DEN/nuYou visit him

   But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

   וַתְּחַסְּרֵהוּvat/te/chas/se/RE/huand You have made him lowerמְעַטme/ATa littleמֵאֱלֹהִיםme/e/lo/HIMthan the angelsוְכָבוֹדve/kha/VODand with gloryוְהָדָרve/ha/DARand honorתְּעַטְּרֵהוּte/at/te/RE/huYou have crowned himתַּמְשִׁילֵהוּtam/shi/le/HUYou make him ruleבְּמַעֲשֵׂיbe/ma/a/SEover the works ofיָדֶיךָ׃ya/DE/khaYour hands

   Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

   כֹּלkolallשַׁתָּהSHAT/taYou have putתַחַת־רַגְלָיוTA/chat-rag/LAYVunder his feetכִּיkiforבְּשִׁיתוֹbe/shi/TOin His puttingאֶת־הַכֹּלet-hak/KOLallתַּחְתָּיוtach/TAYVunder himלֹא־הִשְׁאִירlo-hish/IRHe left notדָּבָרda/VARa thingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹאlonotשָׁתshatHe putתַּחְתָּיוtach/TAYVunder himוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowעוֹדodyetלֹאlonotרֹאִיםro/IMseeאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweכִּי־הַכֹּלki-hak/KOLfor allהוּשַׁתhu/SHATis putתַּחְתָּיו׃tach/TAYVunder him

   Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

   אֲבָלa/VALbutרֹאִיםro/IMseeאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַet-Ye/SHU/aJesusאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatחֻסַּרchus/SARwas made lowerמְעַטme/ATa littleמִמַּלְאָכִיםmim/mal/a/KHIMthan angelsבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURforעִנּוּיin/NUYthe suffering ofהַמָּוֶתham/MA/vetdeathמְעֻטָּרme/ut/TARcrownedבְּכָבוֹדbe/kha/VODwith gloryוְהָדָרve/ha/DARand honorלְמַעַןle/MA/ansoיִטְעַםyit/AMhe might tasteבְּחֶסֶדbe/CHE/sedby the grace ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֶת־הַמָּוֶתet-ham/MA/vetdeathבְּעַדbe/ADforכׇּל־אִישׁ׃kol-ishevery man

   But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

    כִּיkiforנָאוֶהna/VEis fittingהָיָהha/YAit wasלוֹlofor Himאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלְמַעֲנוֹle/ma/a/NOis for His sakeהַכֹּלhak/KOLallוְעַל־יָדוֹve/AL-ya/DOand through Himהַכֹּלhak/KOLallבַּהֲבִיאוֹba/ha/vi/Oin bringingבָנִיםva/NIMsonsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyלְכָבוֹדle/kha/VODfor gloryלְהַשְׁלִיםle/hash/LIMto make completeאֶת־שַׂרet-sarthe prince ofיְשׁוּעָתָםye/shu/a/TAMtheir salvationבְּעִנּוּיִים׃be/in/nu/YIMthrough sufferings

    For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

    כִּיkiforגַם־הַמְקַדֵּשׁgam-ham/kad/DESHboth the one who sanctifiesגַּם־הַמְּקֻדָּשִׁיםgam-ham/me/kud/da/SHIMand those sanctifiedכֻּלָּםkul/LAMallמֵאֶחָדme/e/CHADare of oneהֵמָּהHEM/matheyוְעַל־כֵּןve/AL-kenand thereforeלֹאlonotבוֹשׁvoshhe is ashamedלִקְרֹאlik/ROto callלָהֶםla/HEMthemאַחִים׃a/CHIMbrothers

    For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

12. 12

    לֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאֲסַפְּרָהa/sap/pe/RAI will tell ofשִׁמְךָshim/KHAYour nameלְאֶחָיle/e/CHAYto my brothersבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongקְהִלָּהke/hil/LAan assemblyאֲזַמְּרֶךָּ׃a/zam/me/REK/kaI will sing praise to You

    Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.

13. 13

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againאֲנִיa/NIIאֶבְטַח־בּוֹev/TACH-boI will trust in Himוְעוֹדve/ODand againהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIוְהַיְלָדִיםve/hay/la/DIMand the childrenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomנָתַן־לִיna/TAN-lihas given meאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

14. 14

    וְיַעַןve/YA/anand sinceכִּיkithatלַיְלָדִיםlay/la/DIMthe childrenחֵלֶקCHE/leksharersבְּבָשָׂרbe/va/SARin fleshוָדָםva/DAMand bloodגַּם־הוּאgam-huhe alsoכָּמוֹהֶםka/mo/HEMlike themלָקַחla/KACHtookחֵלֶקCHE/lekpartבָּהֶםba/HEMin themלְמַעַןle/MA/ansoיַשְׁבִּיתyash/BIThe might destroyעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughהַמָּוֶתham/MA/vetdeathאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthe one whoלוֹlohadמֶמְשֶׁלֶתmem/SHE/letthe dominion ofהַמָּוֶתham/MA/vetdeathהוּאhuthat isהַשָּׂטָן׃Has/sa/TANSatan

    Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

    וּלְהַצִּילu/le/hats/TSILand to deliverאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthose whoמִפַּחַדmip/PA/chadfrom fear ofהַמָּוֶתham/MA/vetdeathהָיוּha/YUwereכׇל־יְמֵיkhol-ye/MEall the days ofחַיֵּיהֶםchay/ye/HEMtheir livesנְתוּנִיםne/tu/NIMsubjectedלְעַבְדוּת׃le/av/DUTto slavery

    And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

16. 16

    כִּיkiforאׇמְנָםom/NAMindeedלֹאlonotבְּמַלְאָכִיםbe/mal/a/KHIMof angelsהֶחֱזִיקhe/che/ZIKhe took holdכִּיkibutאִםimratherבְּזֶרַעbe/ZE/raof the seed ofאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamהֶחֱזִיק׃he/che/ZIKhe took hold

    For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

17. 17

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeעָלָיוa/LAYVit was on himלְהִדַּמּוֹתle/hid/dam/MOTto be made likeלְאֶחָיוle/e/CHAYVhis brothersבְּכׇל־דָּבָרbe/KHOL-da/VARin everythingלְמַעַןle/MA/ansoיִהְיֶהyih/YEhe might beכֹּהֵןko/HENa priestגָּדוֹלga/DOLhighרַחֲמָןra/cha/MANmercifulוְנֶאֱמָןve/ne/e/MANand faithfulבְּעִנְיְנֵיbe/in/ye/NEin matters ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלְכַפֵּרle/khap/PERto atoneעַל־חַטֹּאתal-chat/TOTfor the sins ofהָעָם׃ha/AMthe people

    Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

18. 18

    כִּיkiforבַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERin thatהוּאhuheסָבַלsa/VALhas sufferedבְּנַפְשׁוֹbe/naf/SHOin himselfכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasנֻסָּהnus/SAwas testedיָכֹלya/KHOLhe is ableלַעֲזֹרla/a/ZORto helpלַמְנֻסִּים׃lam/nus/SIMto those who are tested

    For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
