   Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

   Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

   כִּיkiforהִתְבּוֹנֲנוּhit/bo/na/NUconsiderאֵלָיוe/LAYVhimאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatסָבַלsa/VALenduredרִיבrivdisputeכָּזֶהka/ZEsuchמִן־הַחַטָּאִיםmin-ha/chat/ta/IMfrom sinnersעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst himפֶּן־תִּיגְעוּpen-ti/ge/Ulest you grow wearyוְתִיעֲפוּve/ti/a/FUand faintבְּנַפְשׁוֹתֵיכֶם׃be/naf/sho/te/KHEMin your souls

   For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

   טֶרֶםTE/remnot yetעֲמַדְתֶּםa/mad/TEMhave you stoodעַד־דָּםad-damto bloodבְּהִלָּחֶמְכֶםbe/hil/la/chem/KHEMin your strugglingבַּחֵטְא׃ba/CHETin sin

   Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

   וַתִּשְׁכְּחוּvat/tish/ke/CHUand you have forgottenאֶת־הַמּוּסָרet-ham/mu/SARthe exhortationהַמְדַבֵּרham/dab/BERthe one who speaksאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youכְּאֶל־בָּנִיםke/EL-ba/NIMas to childrenלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמוּסַרmu/SARthe discipline ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDבְּנִיbe/NImy sonאַל־תִּמְאָסal-tim/ASdo not despiseוְאַל־תִּיעַףve/AL-ti/AFand do not faintבְּתוֹכַחְתּוֹ׃be/to/khach/TOHis reproof

   And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

   כִּיkiforאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhomיֶאֱהַבye/e/HAVlovesהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordיוֹכִיחַyo/KHI/achHe reprovesוְיַכֶּהve/yak/KEand scourgesכׇּל־בֵּןkol-benevery sonאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomיִרְצֶה׃yir/TSEin whom He delights

   For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

   אִםimifתִּסְבְּלוּtis/be/LUyou endureמוּסָרmu/SARdisciplineכְּעִםke/IMas withבָּנִיםba/NIMsonsעֹשֶׂהo/SEdealsאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMwith youכִּיkiforמִיmiwho isהַבֵּןhab/BENsonאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomלֹאlonotיְיַסְּרֶנּוּye/yas/se/ren/NUdisciplines himאָבִיו׃a/VIVhis father

   If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

   וְאִם־תִּהְיוּve/IM-tih/YUand if you areבְאֵין־מוּסָרve/EN-mu/SARwithout disciplineאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whichלְכֻלָּםle/khul/LAMto all of themחֵלֶקCHE/leksharersבּוֹboin itאָזazthenמַמְזְרִיםmam/ze/RIMbastardsאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areוְלֹאve/LOand notבָנִים׃va/NIMsons

   But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

   וְעוֹדve/ODand furtherהָיוּha/YUwereלָנוּLA/nuto usאֲבוֹתa/VOTthe fathers ofבְּשָׂרֵנוּbe/sa/RE/nuour fleshאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיִסְּרוּנוּyis/se/ru/NUdisciplined usוַנִּירָאvan/ni/RAand we fearedאֹתָםo/TAMthemאַףafmuchכִּי־נִכָּנַעki-nik/ka/NAmore will we submitלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאֲבִיA/VIthe Father ofהָרוּחוֹתha/ru/CHOTspiritsוְנִחְיֶה׃ve/nich/YEand live

   Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

    כִּיkiforהֵמָּהHEM/matheyאׇמְנָםom/NAMtrulyלְיָמִיםle/ya/MIMfor daysמְעַטִּיםme/at/TIMa fewיִסְּרוּנוּyis/se/ru/NUdisciplined usכַּטּוֹבkat/TOVas was goodבְּעֵינֵיהֶםbe/e/ne/HEMin their eyesאֲבָלa/VALbutהוּאhuheלְהוֹעִילle/ho/ILfor profitלָנוּLA/nuto usלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיִהְיֶה־לָּנוּyih/YE-LA/nuwe may haveחֵלֶקCHE/leka shareבְּקׇדְשׁוֹ׃be/kod/SHOin His holiness

    For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

    וְכׇל־מוּסָרve/KHOL-mu/SARand all disciplineעַתָּהat/TAnowאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuis notלְשִׂמְחָהle/sim/CHAfor joyבְעֵינֵינוּve/e/NE/nuin our eyesכִּיkibutאִם־לְיָגוֹןim-le/ya/GONrather for griefאֲבָלa/VALneverthelessאַחֲרֵי־כֵןa/cha/RE-khenafterwardיִתֵּןyit/TENit givesפְּרִיpe/RIthe fruit ofשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceלִצְדָקָהlits/da/KAfor righteousnessלִמְלֻמָּדָיו׃lim/lum/ma/DAYVto those trained by it

    Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeשְׂאוּse/Ulift upיָדַיִםya/DA/yimthe handsרָפוֹתra/FOTweakוּבִרְכַּיִםu/vir/KA/yimand the kneesכֹּשְׁלוֹת׃kosh/LOTfeeble

    Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

13. 13

    וְיַשְּׁרוּve/yash/she/RUand make straightמַעְגָּלִיםma/ga/LIMpathsלְרַגְלֵיכֶםle/rag/le/KHEMfor your feetפֶּן־תִּטֶּהpen-tit/TElest be turned asideהַצֹּלֵעָהhats/tso/le/Awhat is lameמִן־הַדֶּרֶךְmin-had/DE/rekhout of the wayכִּיkibutאִם־תֵּרָפֵא׃im-te/ra/FErather be healed

    And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

    רִדְפוּrid/FUpursueאֶת־הַשָּׁלוֹםet-hash/sha/LOMpeaceעִם־כׇּל־אָדָםim-kol-a/DAMwith all menוְאֵתve/ETandהַקְּדֻשָּׁהhak/ke/dush/SHAholinessאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבִּלְעָדֶיהָbil/a/de/HAwithout itלֹא־יִרְאֶהlo-yir/Ewill not seeאִישׁisha manאֶת־הָאָדוֹן׃et-ha/a/DONthe Lord

    Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

15. 15

    וּרְאוּu/re/Uand seeהֵיטֵבhe/TEVdiligentlyפֶּן־יִהְיֶהpen-yih/YElest becomeאִישׁisha manחָסֵרcha/SERto fall shortמֵחֶסֶדme/CHE/sedfrom the grace ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodפֶּן־יִצְמַחpen-yits/MACHlest spring upשֹׁרֶשׁSHO/resha rootמְרִירוּתme/ri/RUTbitternessוְיַעְכֹּרve/ya/KORand troubleאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוְיִטַּמְּאוּve/yit/tam/me/Uand be defiledבוֹvoby itרַבִּים׃rab/BIMmany

    Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

16. 16

    פֶּן־יִמָּצֵאpen-yim/ma/TSElest be foundבָכֶםva/KHEMamong youזֹנֶהzo/NEa fornicatorאוֹoorחָלָלcha/LALa profane oneכְּעֵשָׂוke/E/SAVlike Esauאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoבְּמַאֲכָלbe/ma/a/KHALfor foodאֶחָדe/CHADoneמָכַרma/KHARsoldאֶת־בְּכוֹרָתוֹ׃et-be/kho/ra/TOhis birthright

    Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

    כִּיkithatיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMyou knowכִּיkiforאַחֲרֵי־כֵןa/cha/RE-khenafterwardכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenרָצָהra/TSAhe wantedלָרֶשֶׁתla/RE/shetto inheritאֶת־הַבְּרָכָהet-hab/be/ra/KHAthe blessingנִמְאָסnim/ASrejectedכִּיkiforלֹא־מָצָאlo-ma/TSAhe did not findמְקוֹםme/KOMthe place ofתְּשׁוּבָהte/shu/VArepentanceגַּםgamevenכִּיkithoughדְרָשָׁהּde/ra/SHAhe sought itבִּדְמָעוֹת׃bid/ma/OTwith tears

    For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

18. 18

    כִּיkiforלֹא־בָאתֶםlo-va/TEMyou have not comeאֶל־הַרel-harto a mountainנִמְשָׁשׁnim/SHASHthat is touchedוּבֹעֵרu/vo/ERand burningבָּאֵשׁba/ESHwith fireוְלֹאve/LOand notאֶל־קַדְרוּתel-kad/RUTto blacknessוְחֹשֶׁךְve/CHO/shekhand darknessוּסְעָרָה׃u/se/a/RAand storm

    For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

19. 19

    וְאֶל־קוֹלve/EL-koland to the sound ofשׁוֹפָרsho/FARa trumpetוְאֶל־קוֹלve/EL-koland to the voice ofדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMwordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatשֹׁמְעָיוshom/AYVits hearersבִּקְשׁוּbik/SHUbeggedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹאlonotיוֹסִיףyo/SIFit continueלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themעוֹד׃odagain

    And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard entreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:

20. 20

    כִּיkiforלֹא־יָכְלוּlo-ya/khe/LUthey could notלָשֵׂאתla/SETbearאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthat whichצֻוָּהtsuv/VAwas commandedוְאִםve/IMand ifגַּםgamevenבְּהֵמָהbe/he/MAa beastתִּגַּעtig/GAtouchesבָּהָרba/HARthe mountainסָקֹלsa/KOLstoneתִּסָּקֵלtis/sa/KELit shall be stonedאוֹ־יָרֹהo-ya/ROor shootתִיָּרֶהtiy/ya/REit shall be shot throughבַּחֵץ׃ba/CHETSwith a dart

    (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:

21. 21

    וְנוֹרָאve/no/RAand fearfulהָיָהha/YAwasהַמַּרְאֶהham/mar/Ethe sightעַד־אֲשֶׁרad-a/SHERthatאָמַרa/MARsaidמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesיָגֹרְתִּיya/GOR/tiI was afraidמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyוְחָרָדְתִּי׃ve/cha/rad/TIand I trembled

    And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)

22. 22

    כִּיkibutאִם־בָּאתֶםim-ba/TEMrather you have comeאֶל־הַרel-Harto MountצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionוְאֶל־עִירve/EL-irand to the city ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodחַיִּיםchay/YIMthe livingאֶל־יְרוּשָׁלַיִםel-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenוְאֶל־רִבְבוֹתve/EL-riv/VOTand to myriads ofמַלְאָכִים׃mal/a/KHIMangels

    But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

23. 23

    אֶל־עֲצֶרֶתel-a/TSE/retto the assemblyוּכְנֵסִיַּתu/khe/ne/siy/YATand the assembly ofהַבְּכוֹרִיםhab/be/kho/RIMthe firstbornהַכְּתוּבִיםhak/ke/tu/VIMwho are writtenבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenוְאֶל־אֱלֹהִיםve/EL-e/lo/HIMand to GodשֹׁפֵטSho/FETthe Judge ofהַכֹּלhak/KOLallוְאֶל־רוּחוֹתve/EL-ru/CHOTand to the spirits ofצַדִּיקִיםtsad/di/KIMrighteousנִשְׁלָמִים׃nish/la/MIMmade complete

    To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

24. 24

    וְאֶל־יֵשׁוּעַve/EL-ye/SHU/aand to Jesusמְתַוֵּךְme/tav/VEKHthe mediator ofהַבְּרִיתhab/be/RITthe covenantהַחֲדָשָׁהha/cha/da/SHAnewוְאֶל־הַדָּםve/EL-had/DAMand to the bloodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichזֹרַקzo/RAKof sprinklingהַמְדַבֵּרham/dab/BERthat speaksטוֹבוֹתto/VOTbetter thingsמִדַּם־הָבֶל׃mid/DAM-HA/velthan the blood of Abel

    And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

    רְאוּre/Useeפֶּן־תִּמְאֲסוּpen-tim/a/SUlest you refuseבַּמְדַבֵּרBam/dab/BERthe One who speaksכִּיkiforאִם־הֵםim-hemif theyלֹאlonotנִמְלְטוּnim/le/TUescapedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoמָאֲסוּma/a/SUrejectedבַּמְדַבֵּרBam/dab/BERthe One who spokeבָּאָרֶץba/A/retson earthאַףafmuchכִּיkimoreאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweלֹאlonotנִמָּלֵטnim/ma/LETwill escapeאִם־נָשׁוּבim-na/SHUVif we turn awayמֵאַחֲרֵיme/a/cha/REfromהַמְדַבֵּרham/dab/BERthe one speakingמִן־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃min-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heaven

    See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

26. 26

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseקוֹלוֹko/LOvoiceהִרְעִישׁhir/ISHshookאָזazthenאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsthe earthוְעַתָּהve/at/TAbut nowהִבְטִיחַhiv/TI/achhas promisedלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingעוֹדodyetאַחַתa/CHATonceוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iמַרְעִישׁmar/ISHwill shakeלֹאlonotאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsthe earthלְבַדָּהּle/vad/DAaloneכִּיkibutאִםimratherגַּםgamalsoאֶת־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃et-hash/sha/MA/yimthe heavens

    Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

    וְהַדָּבָרve/had/da/VARand the wordהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisעוֹדodyetאַחַתa/CHATonceמוֹדִיעַmo/DI/amake knownהָסִירha/SIRthe removing ofהַנִּרְעָשִׁיםhan/nir/a/SHIMthe things shakenכִּדְבָרִיםkid/va/RIMas of thingsעֲשׂוּיִםa/su/YIMmadeלְמַעַןle/MA/ansoיַעַמְדוּya/am/DUmay remainאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹאlonotיִרָעֲשׁוּ׃yi/ra/a/SHUare shaken

    And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweהַלֹּקְחִיםhal/lok/CHIMwho takeמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTa kingdomאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹאlonotתִמּוֹטtim/MOTwill be movedיְהִיye/HIlet there beלָנוּLA/nuusחֶסֶדCHE/sedgraceאֲשֶׁרa/SHERby whichבּוֹboby itנַעֲבֹדna/a/VODwe should serveאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodלְרָצוֹןle/ra/TSONpleasinglyבְּמוֹרָאbe/mo/RAwith reverenceוּבְיִרְאָה׃u/ve/yir/Aand with fear

    Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

29. 29

    כִּיkiforאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godאֵשׁeshis a fireאֹכְלָהokh/LAconsumingהוּא׃huHe is

    For our God is a consuming fire.
