   For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

   כִּיkiforאִם־כֵּןim-kenif soהֲלֹאha/LOwould notחָדְלוּcha/de/LUthey have ceasedלְהַקְרִיבָםle/hak/ri/VAMto offer themכִּיkisinceהָעֹבְדִיםha/ov/DIMwho worshipאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהִטַּהֲרָםhit/ta/ha/RAMtheir being cleansedפַּעַםPA/amtimeאַחַתa/CHATonceלֹא־הָיָהlo-ha/YAthere would not have beenלָהֶםla/HEMto themעוֹדodany longerלֵבlevheartעַל־חֲטָאִים׃al-cha/ta/IMfor sins

   For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

   אֲבָלa/VALbutבָּהֶםba/HEMin themיֵשׁyeshthere isזִכְרוֹןzikh/RONa remembranceחֲטָאִיםcha/ta/IMsinsעוֹדodagainשָׁנָהsha/NAyearבְשָׁנָה׃ve/sha/NAby year

   But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

   כִּיkiforדַם־הַפָּרִיםdam-hap/pa/RIMthe blood of bullsוְהַשְּׂעִירִיםve/has/se/i/RIMand the goatsלֹאlonotיוּכַלyu/KHALcanלְהָסִירle/ha/SIRtake awayחֲטָאִים׃cha/ta/IMsins

   For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeבְּבוֹאוֹbe/vo/Owhen he comesלָעוֹלָםla/o/LAMinto the worldהוּאhuheאֹמֵרo/MERhe saysזֶבַחZE/vachsacrificeוּמִנְחָהu/min/CHAand a grain offeringלֹאlonotחָפַצְתָּcha/FATS/taYou desiredוּגְוִיָּהu/ge/viy/YAand a bodyכּוֹנַנְתָּko/NAN/taYou preparedלִּי׃lifor me

   Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

   בְּעוֹלוֹתbe/o/LOTin burnt offeringsוּבַחַטָּאוֹתu/va/chat/ta/OTand sin offeringsלֹאlonotרָצִיתָ׃ra/TSI/taYou took pleasure

   In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

   אָזazthenאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidהִנֵּה־בָאתִיhin/NE-VA/tibehold I comeבִּמְגִלַּת־סֵפֶרbim/gil/LAT-SE/ferin the scroll of a bookכָּתוּבka/TUVit is writtenעָלַיa/LAYconcerning meלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doרְצוֹנְךָre/tson/KHAYour willאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMO God

   Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

   בְּאׇמְרוֹbe/om/ROin His sayingלְמַעְלָהle/MA/laaboveזֶבַחZE/vachsacrificeוּמִנְחָהu/min/CHAand a grain offeringוְעוֹלוֹתve/o/LOTand burnt offeringsוְחַטָּאתve/chat/TATand a sin offeringלֹאlonotחָפַצְתָּcha/FATS/taYou desiredוְלֹאve/LOand notרָצִיתָra/TSI/taYou took pleasureבָּםbamin themאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיַקְרִיבוּyak/RI/vuare offeredאֹתָםo/TAMthemעַל־פִּיal-piaccording toהַתּוֹרָה׃hat/to/RAthe law

   Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

   אָזazthenאָמַרa/MARhe saidהִנֵּה־בָאתִיhin/NE-VA/tibehold I comeלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doרְצוֹנְךָre/tson/KHAYour willאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMO Godמֵסִירme/SIRHe takes awayאֶת־הָרִאשׁוֹןet-ha/ri/SHONthe firstלְמַעַןle/MA/anso asהָקִיםha/KIMto establishאֶת־הַשֵּׁנִי׃et-hash/she/NIthe second

   Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

    וּבָרָצוֹןu/va/ra/TSONand by the willהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisמְקֻדָּשִׁיםme/kud/da/SHIMsanctifiedאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuare weעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughקׇרְבַּןkor/BANthe offering ofגְּוִיַּתge/viy/YATthe body ofיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahבְּפַעַםbe/FA/amat a timeאַחַת׃a/CHATonce

    By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11. 11

    וְכׇל־כֹּהֵןve/KHOL-ko/HENand every priestעֹמֵדo/MEDstandsיוֹםyomdayיוֹםyomby dayלְשָׁרֵתle/sha/RETto serveוּמַקְרִיבu/mak/RIVand offeringפְּעָמִיםpe/a/MIMtimesרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyאֶת־הַזְּבָחִיםet-haz/ze/va/CHIMthe sacrificesהָהֵםha/HEMthoseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־יוּכְלוּlo-yukh/LUcannotלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMeverלְהָסִירle/ha/SIRtake awayחֲטָאִים׃cha/ta/IMsins

    And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

12. 12

    אֲבָלa/VALbutזֶהzethis manאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַקְרִיבוֹhak/ri/VOhe offeredזֶבַחZE/vacha sacrificeאֶחָדe/CHADoneעַל־הַחֲטָאִיםal-ha/cha/ta/IMfor sinsלָנֶצַחla/NE/tsachforeverיָשַׁבya/SHAVsatלִימִיןli/MINat the right hand ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

13. 13

    מֵעַתָּהme/at/TAfrom now onמְחַכֶּהme/chak/KEwaitingעַדaduntilכִּי־יוּשְׁתוּki-yush/TUare madeאֹיְבָיוoy/VAYVhis enemiesהֲדֹםha/DOMa footstoolלְרַגְלָיו׃le/rag/LAYVfor his feet

    From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

14. 14

    כִּיkiforהוּאhuheבְּקָרְבָּןve/kor/BANby an offeringאֶחָדe/CHADoneהִשְׁלִיםhish/LIMhas made completeלָנֶצַחla/NE/tsachforeverאֶת־הַמְקֻדָּשִׁים׃et-ham/kud/da/SHIMthose who are sanctified

    For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

15. 15

    וְאַף־רוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁve/AF-RU/ach-hak/KO/deshand the Holy Spirit alsoמֵעִידme/IDtestifiesלָנוּLA/nuto usעַל־זֹאתal-zotabout thisכִּיkiforאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafter thatאׇמְרוֹom/ROhe saidמִלְּפָנִים׃mil/le/fa/NIMbefore

    Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16. 16

    זֹאתzotthis isהַבְּרִיתhab/be/RITthe covenantאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאֶכְרֹתekh/ROTI will makeאִתָּםit/TAMwith themאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMthe daysהָהֵםha/HEMthoseאָמַרa/MARsaysהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI will putאֶת־תּוֹרֹתַיet-to/ro/TAYMy lawsבְּלִבָּםbe/lib/BAMin their heartוּבְמַחְשְׁבוֹתָםu/ve/mach/she/vo/TAMand in their mindsאֶכְתְּבֵם׃ekh/te/VEMI will write them

    This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17. 17

    וְחַטֹּאתָםve/chat/to/TAMand their sinsוַעֲוֹנֹתֵיהֶםva/a/vo/no/te/HEMand iniquitiesלֹאlonotאֶזְכָּר־עוֹד׃ez/KAR-odwill I remember again

    And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

18. 18

    וּבִמְקוֹםu/vim/KOMand whereאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיֵשׁyeshthere isסְלִיחַתse/li/CHATforgiveness ofאֵלֶּהEL/letheseאֵיןenthere is noעוֹדodlongerקׇרְבָּןkor/BANofferingעַל־חַטָּאת׃al-chat/TATfor sin

    Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

19. 19

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאֶחָיe/CHAYmy brothersבִּהְיוֹתbih/YOTin there beingלָנוּLA/nuto usבֶּטַחBE/tachwith confidenceלָבוֹאla/VOto enterאֶל־קֹדֶשׁel-KO/deshto the holy ofהַקֳּדָשִׁיםhak/ko/da/SHIMholiesבְּדַםbe/DAMby the blood ofיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aJesus

    Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20. 20

    בְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekhby a wayחָדָשׁcha/DASHnewוָחָיva/CHAYand livingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatחָנַךְcha/NAKHhe dedicatedלָנוּLA/nufor usבַּפָּרֹכֶתbap/pa/RO/khetthrough the veilהִיאhithat isבְשָׂרוֹ׃ve/sa/ROhis flesh

    By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

21. 21

    וּבִהְיוֹתu/vih/YOTand in there beingלָנוּLA/nuto usכֹּהֵןko/HENa priestגָּדוֹלga/DOLhighעַל־בֵּיתal-betover the house ofאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    And having an high priest over the house of God;

22. 22

    נִקְרְבָהnik/re/VAlet us draw nearבְּלֵבbe/LEVwith a heartאֱמֶתe/METtrueבִּמְלֹאbim/LOin the fullness ofבֶטַחVE/tachthe assurance ofהָאֱמוּנָהha/e/mu/NAfaithוּלְבָבוֹתֵינוּu/le/va/vo/te/NUand our heartsמְזֹרָקִיםme/zo/ra/KIMsprinkledמִלֵּבmil/LEVfrom the heartרָעraevilוּגְוִיֹּתֵינוּu/ge/viy/yo/te/NUand our bodiesרְחוּצוֹתre/chu/TSOTwashedבְּמַיִםbe/MA/yimwith waterטְהוֹרִים׃te/ho/RIMpure

    Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

23. 23

    נַחֲזִיקָהna/cha/zi/KAlet us hold fastבְּתוֹדַתbe/to/DATthe confession ofאֱמוּנָתֵנוּe/mu/na/te/NUour faithבַּל־נִמּוֹטbal-nim/MOTthat we not waverכִּי־נֶאֱמָןki-ne/e/MANfor faithful isהַמַּבְטִיחַ׃ham/Mav/TI/achthe One who promised

    Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

24. 24

    וְנִתְבּוֹנֲנָהve/nit/bo/na/NAand let us considerאִישׁisheachעַל־רֵעֵהוּal-re/E/huagainst his neighborלְעוֹרֵרle/o/RERto stirלְאַהֲבָהle/a/ha/VAto loveוּלְמַעֲשִׂיםu/le/ma/a/SIMand to worksטוֹבִים׃to/VIMgood

    And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

25. 25

    וְאַל־נַעֲזֹבve/AL-na/a/ZOVand let us not forsakeאֶת־הִקָּבְצֵנוּet-hik/ka/ve/tse/NUour assemblingיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasיֵשׁyeshthere areאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoעֹזְבִיםoz/VIMforsakingכִּיkibutאִם־נַזְהִירim-naz/HIRrather let us urgeאִישׁisheachאֶת־רֵעֵהוּet-re/E/huhis neighborוְעוֹדve/ODand moreיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreבִּרְאֹתְכֶםbir/ot/KHEMas you seeכִּיkithatקָרוֹבka/ROVdrawing nearהַיּוֹם׃hay/YOMthe day

    Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

26. 26

    כִּיkiforאִם־נֶחֱטָאim-ne/che/TAif we sinבְזָדוֹןve/za/DONpresumptuouslyאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלָקַחְנוּla/KACH/nuwe receivedדַּעַתDA/atthe knowledge ofהָאֱמֶתha/e/METthe truthלֹא־יִשָּׁאֵרlo-yish/sha/ERthere remains notעוֹדodstillזֶבַחZE/vacha sacrificeעַל־הַחֲטָאִים׃al-ha/cha/ta/IMfor sins

    For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27. 27

    כִּיkibutאִם־לְחַכּוֹתim-le/chak/KOTrather to wait forבְּאֵימָהbe/e/MAwith dreadלַמִּשְׁפָּטlam/mish/PATfor judgmentוְאֵשׁve/ESHand the fire ofקִנְאָהkin/Ajealousyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתֹּאכַלto/KHALwill consumeאֶת־הַצֹּרֲרִים׃et-hats/tso/ra/RIMthe adversaries

    But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28. 28

    אִישׁisha manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבָּזָהba/ZAdespisedתּוֹרַתto/RATthe law ofמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesמֵתmetdiedבְּלִיbe/LIwithoutרַחֲמִיםra/cha/MIMmercyעַל־פִּיal-piat the mouth ofשְׁנַיִםshe/NA/yimtwoעֵדִיםe/DIMwitnessesאוֹ־שְׁלֹשָׁה׃o-she/lo/SHAor three

    He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29. 29

    וּמַה־דַּעְתְּכֶםu/MA-da/te/KHEMand what do you thinkכַּמָּהkam/MAhow muchיִגְדַּלyig/DALwill be greaterהָעֹנֶשׁha/O/neshthe punishmentאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיֵחָשֵׁבye/cha/SHEVwill he be countedרָאוּיra/UYworthyלוֹlofor himמִיmiwhoאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoרָמַסra/MAShas trampledאֶת־בֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-Ben-ha/e/lo/HIMthe Son of Godוְחָשַׁבve/cha/SHAVand countedאֶת־דַּםet-damthe blood ofהַבְּרִיתhab/be/RITthe covenantאֲשֶׁרa/SHERby whichקֻדַּשׁkud/DASHhe was sanctifiedבּוֹboby itלְחֹלle/CHOLas commonוְחֵרֵףve/che/REFand has insultedאֶת־רוּחַet-RU/achthe Spirit ofהֶחָסֶד׃he/CHA/sedgrace

    Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

30. 30

    כִּיkiforיָדַעְנוּya/DA/nuwe knowאֶת־הָאֹמֵרet-Ha/o/MERthe One who saidלִיlito Me belongsנָקָםna/KAMvengeanceוְשִׁלֵּםve/shil/LEMand recompenseאָמַרa/MARsaysהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordוְעוֹדve/ODand againיָדִיןya/DINwill judgeהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordעַמּוֹ׃am/MOHis people

    For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

31. 31

    נוֹרָאno/RAfearfulהוּאhuit isלִנְפֹּלlin/POLto fall intoבִּידֵיbi/DEinto the hands ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodחַיִּים׃chay/YIMthe living

    It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

32. 32

    אֲבָלa/VALbutזִכְרוּzikh/RUrememberאֶת־הַיָּמִיםet-hay/ya/MIMthe daysהָרִאשׁוֹנִיםha/ri/sho/NIMformerאֲשֶׁרa/SHERin whichבָּהֶםba/HEMin themאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֹרוּO/ruwere enlightenedעֵינֵיכֶםe/ne/KHEMyour eyesנְשָׂאתֶםne/sa/TEMyou boreמִלְחֶמֶתmil/CHE/metthe battle ofצָרוֹתtsa/ROTtroublesרַבָּה׃rab/BAgreat

    But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;

33. 33

    פַּעַםPA/amat timesבִּהְיוֹתְכֶםbih/yot/KHEMwhen you wereלְרֹאִיle/RO/ia spectacleגַּםgambothבְּחֶרְפּוֹתbe/cher/POTwith reproachesוּבְצָרוֹתu/ve/tsa/ROTand in troublesוּפַעַםu/FA/amand at timesבִּהְיוֹתְכֶםbih/yot/KHEMbeingחֲבֵרִיםcha/ve/RIMcompanionsלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERof those whoכָּכָהKA/khasoנַעֲשָׂהna/a/SAwere treatedלָהֶם׃la/HEMto them

    Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.

34. 34

    כִּיkiforחֲמַלְתֶּםcha/mal/TEMyou had compassionעָלַיa/LAYon meבְּמוֹסֵרַיbe/mo/se/RAYin my bondsוּגְזֵלַתu/ge/ze/LATand the spoiling ofרְכוּשְׁכֶםre/khush/KHEMyour goodsסְבַלְתֶּםse/val/TEMyou boreבְּשִׂמְחָהbe/sim/CHAwith joyבְּדַעְתְּכֶםbe/da/te/KHEMknowingבְּנַפְשְׁכֶםbe/naf/she/KHEMin yourselvesכִּיkithatיֶשׁ־לָכֶםyesh-la/KHEMyou haveבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenקִנְיָןkin/YANa possessionטוֹבtovbetterמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuthan itוְעֹמֵדve/o/MEDand enduringלָעַד׃la/ADfor ever

    For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

35. 35

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאַל־תַּשְׁלִיכוּal-tash/li/KHUdo not cast awayאֶת־בִּטְחַתְכֶםet-bit/chat/KHEMyour confidenceאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלָהּlahasגְּמוּלge/MULrecompenseרָב׃ravgreat

    Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

36. 36

    כִּיkiforחֲסֵרִיםcha/se/RIMneedingאַתֶּםat/TEMyouאֹרֶךְO/rekhthe patience ofרוּחַRU/achspiritלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterעֲשׂוֹתְכֶםa/sot/KHEMyour doingאֶת־רְצוֹןet-re/TSONthe will ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodתִּקְחוּtik/CHUyou may receiveאֶת־הַהַבְטָחָה׃et-ha/hav/ta/CHAthe promise

    For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

37. 37

    כִּי־עוֹדki-odfor yetמְעַטme/ATa littleוְהַבָּאve/hab/BAand the one who comesיָבֹאya/VOwill comeוְלֹאve/LOand notיְאַחֵר׃ye/a/CHERwill tarry

    For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

38. 38

    וְצַדִּיקve/tsad/DIKand the righteousבֶּאֱמוּנָהbe/e/mu/NAby faithיִחְיֶהyich/YEshall liveוְאִם־יִסֹּגve/IM-yis/SOGand if he draws backאִישׁishany manלֹא־תִרְצֶהlo-tir/TSEwill not be pleasedנַפְשִׁיnaf/SHIMy soulבּוֹ׃bowith him

    Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

39. 39

    אֲבָלa/VALbutאֵיןennotאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areמִן־הַנְּסֹגִיםmin-han/ne/so/GIMof those who draw backלָאֲבַדּוֹןla/a/vad/DONto destructionכִּיkibutאִם־מִן־הַמַּאֲמִינִיםim-min-ham/ma/a/mi/NIMrather of those who believeלְהַצָּלַתle/hats/tsa/LATto the saving ofהַנָּפֶשׁ׃han/NA/feshthe soul

    But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
