1. 1

   וְעַתָּהand-nowעִמְדוּ־נָאstand-I-prayבַחֵרוּתin-libertyאֲשֶׁרwhichשִׁחֲרַרhath-made-freeאֹתָנוּusהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahוְאַל־תָּשׁוּבוּand-turn-not-againלְהִכָּבֵשׁto-be-subjectedבְּעֹלin-yokeהָעַבְדוּת׃the-bondage

   Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

   הִנֵּהbeholdאֲנִיIפוֹלוֹסPaulאֹמֵרsayלָכֶםto-youשֶׁאִם־תִּמּוֹלוּthat-if-you-are-circumcisedלֹא־יוֹעִילnot-profitsלָכֶםto-youהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃the-Messiah

   Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

   וּמֵעִידand-testifyingאֲנִיIעוֹדany-moreהַפַּעַםthe-timeבְּכׇל־אִישׁin-all-man-ofאֲשֶׁרwhichיִמּוֹלis-circumcisedשֶׁחַיָּבthat-he-is-a-debtorהוּאheלִשְׁמֹרto-keepאֶת־הַתּוֹרָהthe-lawכֻלָּהּ׃all-of-it(f)

   For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

   נִגְזַרְתֶּםyou-are-severedמִן־הַמָּשִׁיחַfrom-the-Messiahאַתֶּםyou-areהַמִּצְטַדְּקִיםthe-self-justifyingבַּתּוֹרָהby-the-lawאֲבַדְתֶּםyou-have-fallenמִן־הֶחָסֶד׃from-grace

   Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

   כִּי־אֲנַחְנוּbecause-weבָּרוּחַin-the-Spiritנְיַחֵלwe-hopeמִתּוֹךְfrom-the-midst-ofהָאֱמוּנָהthe-faithלְתִקְוַתto-the hope ofהַצְּדָקָה׃the-righteousness

   For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

   כִּיbecauseבַמָּשִׁיחַin-the-Messiahלֹאnotהַמִּילָהthe-circumcisionתֵּחָשֵׁבavailethוְלֹאand-notהָעׇרְלָהthe-uncircumcisionכִּיbutאִםratherהָאֱמוּנָהthe-faithהַפֹּעֶלֶתwhich-workethבְּאַהֲבָה׃by-love

   For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

   הֵיטַבְתֶּםyou-did-wellלָרוּץto-runמִיwhoחָשַׂךְdid-hinderאֶתְכֶםyouמִשְּׁמֹעַfrom-obeyingאֶל־הָאֱמֶת׃the-truth

   Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?

   הַפִּתּוּיthe-persuasionהַזֶּהthisאֵינֶנּוּthere-is-notמֵאֵתfromהַקֹּרֵאthe-one-who-calledאֶתְכֶם׃you

   This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.

9. 9

   מְעַטsomewhatשְׂאֹרleavenמְחַמֵּץleavensאֶת־כׇּל־הָעִסָּה׃all-the-lump

   A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

10. 10

    מֻבְטָחI-have-confidenceאֲנִיIבָכֶםin-youבָּאָדוֹןin-the-Lordכִּיbecauseלֹאnotתִהְיֶהthere-will-beרוּחַthe-spirit-ofאַחֶרֶתany-otherעִמָּכֶםwith-youוְהָעֹכֵרand-he-that-troublethאֶתְכֶםyouיִשָׂאshall-bearאֶת־עֲוֹנוֹhis-judgmentיִהְיֶהshall-bearמִיwhoeverשֶׁיִּהְיֶה׃he-be

    I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.

11. 11

    וַאֲנִיand-Iאַחַיmy-brothersאִם־אַכְרִיזif-I-shall-proclaimעוֹדany-moreהַמִּילָהthe-circumcisionעַל־מָהupon-whatאֶהְיֶהI-may-beנִרְדָּףpersecutedהֲלֹאdo-notמְבֻטָּלis-done-awayמִכְשׁוֹלthe-offenseהַצְּלוּב׃of-the-cross

    And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

12. 12

    מִיwhoיִתֵּןshall-giveוְיִכָּרְתוּand-they-shall-be-cut-offהַמַּדִּיחִיםwho-unsettleאֶתְכֶם׃you

    I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

13. 13

    כִּיbecauseאַתֶּםyou-areאַחַיmy-brothersלַחֵרוּתto-the-libertyנִקְרֵאתֶםyou-are-calledוּבִלְבַדand-onlyשֶׁלּאthat-notתִהְיֶהbecomeהַחֵרוּתthe-libertyסִבָּהan-occasionלַבָּשָׂרfor-the-fleshאֶלָּאbut-ratherשֶׁתַּעַבְדוּthat-you-should-serveאִישׁa-manאֶת־רֵעֵהוּhis-fellowבְּאַהֲבָה׃by-love

    For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

14. 14

    כִּיbecauseכׇל־הַתּוֹרָהall-the-lawכְּלוּלָהis-fulfilledבַּמִּצְוָהin-the-commandmentהָאַחַתthe-oneהַזֹּאתthisוְאָהַבְתָּand-you-shall-loveלְרֵעֲךָyour-neighborכָּמוֹךָ׃like-you

    For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

15. 15

    אֲבָלbutאִם־תְּנַשְּׁכוּif-you-biteוְתֹאכְלוּand-you-shall-eatאִישׁa-manאֶת־אָחִיוhis-brotherרְאוּbeholdפֶּן־תְּכֻלּוּlest-you-be-consumedאִישׁa-manעַל־יְדֵיby-means-ofרֵעֵהוּ׃his-fellow

    But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

16. 16

    וְהִנְנִיand-Iאֹמֵרsayהִתְהַלְּכוּwalkבָּרוּחַin-the-Spiritוְלֹאand-notתְמַלְאוּyou-shall-be-filledאֶת־תַּאֲוֹתthe-desires-ofהַבָּשָׂר׃the-flesh

    This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

17. 17

    כִּיbecauseהַבָּשָׂרthe-fleshמִתְאַוֶּהdesiresהֶפֶךְcontrary-toמִן־הָרוּחַthe-Spiritוְהָרוּחַand-the-Spiritהֶפֶךcontrary-toמִן־הַבָּשָׂרthe-fleshוּשְׁנֵיהֶםand-both-of-themמִתְקוֹמֲמִיםare-contraryזֶהthisלָזֶהto-thatוּבְכֵןso-thatאֵיןnotאַתֶּםyouעֹשִׂיםdoאֵת־אֲשֶׁרwhichתַּחְפֹּצוּ׃you-shall-desire

    For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18. 18

    וְאִם־יִהְיֶהand-if-he-shall-beהָרוּחַthe-Spiritמַנְהִיגְכֶםleading-youאָזthenאֵינְכֶםyou-are-notתַּחַתunderהַתּוֹרָה׃the-law

    But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

19. 19

    וְנוֹדָעִיםand-knownהֵמָּהtheyפׇּעֳלֵיthe-works-ofהַבָּשָׂרthe-fleshאֲשֶׁרwhichהֵםtheyנִאֻפִיםadulteryזְנוּתwhoredomטֻמְאָהfilthinessוְזִמָּה׃and-lewdness

    Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

    עֲבוֹדַתministry-ofאֱלִילִיםidolsוּכְשָׁפִיםand-sorceriesאֵיבוֹתenmitiesוּמַצָּהand-contentionוְקִנְאָהand-jealousyוָרֹגֶזand-turmoilמְרִיבוֹתcontentionsמַחֲלֹקוֹתdivisionsוְכִתּוֹת׃and-heresies

    Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21. 21

    עַיִןeyeרָעָהevilוָרֶצַחand-murderשִׁכָּרוֹןdrunkennessוְזוֹלֲלוּתand-gluttonyוְדוֹמֵיהֶםand-the-likeאֲשֶׁרwhichאֹמַרI-sayמַה־שֶּׁכְּבָרwhat-who-alreadyאָמַרְתִּיI-saidכִּי־עֹשֵׂיbecause-doers-ofאֵלֶּהtheseלֹאnotיִנְחֲלוּthey will inheritמַלְכוּתkingdom-ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃the-God

    Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22. 22

    וּפְרִיand-the-fruit-ofהָרוּחַthe-Spiritהוּאheאַהֲבָהloveשִׂמְחָהjoyוְשָׁלוֹםand-peaceאֹרֶךְlong-ofרוּחַspiritוּנְדִיבוּתand-gentlenessוְחֶסֶדand-goodnessוֶאֱמוּנָה׃and-faith

    But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23. 23

    וַעֲנָוָהand-humilityוּפְרִישׁוּתand-self-controlלְנֶגֶדbeforeעֹשֵׂיdoers-ofאֵלֶּהtheseאֵין־תּוֹרָה׃there-is-no-law

    Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24. 24

    וַאֲשֶׁרand-whomהֵםtheyלַמָּשִׁיחַunto-the-Messiahצָלְבוּcrucifiedאֶת־בְּשָׂרָםtheir-own-fleshעִם־תְּשׁוּקֹתָיוwith-its-passionsוְתַאֲוֹתָיו׃and-the-desires-of-his

    And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25. 25

    אִם־נִחְיֶהif-we-liveבָרוּחַin-the-Spiritנִתְהַלְּכָהwe-will-walkגַּם־בָּרוּחַ׃also-in-the-Spirit

    If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

26. 26

    וְלֹאand-notנִרְדֹּףlet-us-pursueאַחֲרֵיafterכְבוֹד־שָׁוְאthe-glory-of-falsehoodלְהַכְעִיסto-provokeאִישׁa-manאֶת־רֵעֵהוּhis-fellowוּלְקַנֵּאand-envyingאִישׁa-manאֶת־רֵעֵהוּ׃his-fellow

    Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
