   וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֹמֵרo/MERsayכִּיkithatהַיּוֹרֵשׁhay/yo/RESHthe heirכׇּל־יְמֵיkol-ye/MEall the days ofהֱיוֹתוֹhe/yo/TOhis beingקָטֹןka/TONa childאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuis notשֹׁנֶהsho/NEdiffersמִן־הָעֶבֶדmin-ha/E/vedfrom a slaveגַּםgamalsoכִּיkithoughאֲדוֹןa/DONthe master ofהַכֹּלhak/KOLallהוּא׃huhe is

   Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;

   כִּיkibutאִםimratherתַּחַתTA/chatunderיַדyadthe hand ofאֹמְנִיםom/NIMguardiansהוּאhuhe isוְתַחַתve/TA/chatand underפְּקִידֵיpe/ki/DEthe stewards ofהַבָּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseעַדaduntilהַמּוֹעֵדham/mo/EDthe appointed timeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichשָׂםsamappointedהָאָב׃ha/AVthe Father

   But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

   וְכֵןve/KHENand soאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweבְּעוֹדֵנוּbe/o/de/NUwhile we wereקְטַנִּיםke/tan/NIMchildrenעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMslavesהָיִינוּha/YI/nuwe wereתַּחַתTA/chatunderיְסוֹדוֹתye/so/DOTthe elements ofהָעוֹלָם׃ha/o/LAMthe world

   Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

   וּבִמְלֹאתu/vim/LOTand when were fulfilledהָעֵתha/ETthe timeשָׁלַחsha/LACHsentהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֶת־בְּנוֹet-Be/NOHis Sonיְלוּדye/LUDborn ofאִשָּׁהish/SHAa womanוְהוּאve/HUand heתַּחַתTA/chatunderהַתּוֹרָה׃hat/to/RAthe law

   But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

   לִפְדּוֹתlif/DOTto redeemאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthose whoתַּחַתTA/chatunderהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatנְקַבֵּלne/kab/BELwe might receiveמִשְׁפַּטmish/PATthe right ofהַבָּנִים׃hab/ba/NIMsons

   To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

   וְיַעַןve/YA/anand becauseכִּי־בָנִיםki-va/NIMthat sonsאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areשָׁלַחsha/LACHsentהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֶת־רוּחַet-RU/achthe Spirit ofבְּנוֹbe/NOHis Sonבִּלְבַבְכֶםbil/vav/KHEMinto your heartsהַקּוֹרֵאhak/ko/REcryingאַבָּאAb/BAAbbaהָאָב׃Ha/AVFather

   And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאֵינְךָe/ne/KHAyou are notעוֹדodany longerעֶבֶדE/veda slaveכִּיkibutאִם־בֵּןim-benrather a sonוְאִם־בֵּןve/IM-benand if a sonאַתָּהat/TAyou areהִנְּךָhin/ne/KHAthen you areיוֹרֵשׁyo/RESHan heir ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

   Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

   אַךְakhbutאָזazthenבְּאֵין־דַּעַתbe/EN-DA/atnot knowingאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodעֲבַדְתֶּםa/vad/TEMyou servedאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthose whichלְמִינָםle/mi/NAMby their natureלֹאlonoאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMgodsהֵמָּה׃HEM/maare

   Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאֲשֶׁר־יְדַעְתֶּםa/SHER-ye/da/TEMthat you have knownאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodאוֹoorיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreנוֹדַעְתֶּםno/da/TEMyou are knownלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godאֵיךְekhhowתָּשׁוּבוּta/SHU/vudo you turn backאֶל־הַיְסוֹדוֹתel-hay/so/DOTto the elementsהָרָפִיםha/ra/FIMweakוְהַדַּלִּיםve/had/dal/LIMand poorאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתַּחְפְּצוּtach/pe/TSUyou desireלָשׁוּבla/SHUVagainלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beלָהֶםla/HEMto themעֲבָדִים׃a/va/DIMslaves

   But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

    יָמִיםya/MIMdaysאַתֶּםat/TEMyouשֹׁמְרִיםshom/RIMkeepוׇחֳדָשִׁיםvo/cho/da/SHIMand monthsוּמוֹעֲדִיםu/mo/a/DIMand appointed timesוְשָׁנִים׃ve/sha/NIMand years

    Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

11. 11

    יָרֵאya/REafraidאֲנִיa/NII amעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMabout youפֶּן־יָגַעְתִּיpen-ya/GA/tilest I laboredבָכֶםva/KHEMover youלָרִיק׃la/RIKfor nothing

    I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

12. 12

    אַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersמִתְחַנֵּןmit/chan/NENpleadאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMwith youהֱיוּhe/YUbeכָמוֹנִיkha/MO/nilike meכִּיkiforגַם־אֲנִיgam-a/NII alsoכְּמוֹכֶםke/mo/KHEMam like youלֹאlonotעֲשִׂיתֶםa/si/TEMyou didלִיlito meרָעָהra/Aevilמְאוּמָה׃me/U/maanything

    Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.

13. 13

    אַתֶּםat/TEMyouיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMknowאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבׇּחֳלִיbo/cho/LIin weakness ofהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARthe fleshבִּשַּׂרְתִּיbis/SAR/tiI preachedלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאֶת־הַבְּשׂוֹרָהet-hab/be/so/RAthe gospelבָּרִאשֹׁנָה׃ba/ri/sho/NAfirst

    Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.

14. 14

    וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youאֶת־מַסָּתִיet-mas/sa/TImy trialאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich wasבִּבְשָׂרִיbiv/sa/RIin my fleshלֹאlonotבְזִיתֶםve/zi/TEMdid despiseוְלֹאve/LOand notגְעַלְתֶּםge/al/TEMdid you loatheכִּיkibutאִם־קִבַּלְתֶּםim-kib/bal/TEMrather you receivedאֹתִיo/TImeכְּמַלְאַךְke/mal/AKHas an angel ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodכַּמָּשִׁיחַkam/Ma/SHI/achas the Messiahיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aJesus

    And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.

15. 15

    אַיֵּהay/YEwhere isאֵפוֹאe/FOthenאׇשְׁרְכֶםosh/re/KHEMyour blessednessכִּיkiforמֵעִידme/IDtestifyאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMyouכִּיkithatאִלּוּil/LUifיְכׇלְתֶּםye/khol/TEMit had been possibleנְקַרְתֶּםne/kar/TEMyou plucked outאֶת־עֵינֵיכֶםet-e/ne/KHEMyour eyesוּנְתַתֶּםu/ne/tat/TEMand you would have givenלִי׃lito me

    Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.

16. 16

    הַלְאֹיֵבhal/o/YEVas an enemyאֵפוֹאe/FOthenנִהְיֵיתִיnih/YE/tihave I becomeלָכֶםla/KHEMto youבְּדַבְּרִיbe/dab/be/RIbecause I speakאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youאֱמֶת׃e/METtruth

    Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

17. 17

    הֵמָּהHEM/matheyמְקַנְאִיםme/kan/IMare zealousלָכֶםla/KHEMfor youלֹאlonotלְטוֹבָהle/to/VAfor goodכִּיkiforחָפְצוּcha/fe/TSUthey wantedלְהַרְחִיקle/har/CHIKto excludeאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתְּקַנְאוּte/kan/Umay be zealousלָהֶם׃la/HEMfor them

    They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.

18. 18

    אַךְakhbutטוֹבtovit is goodלְקַנֵּאle/kan/NEto be zealousתָּמִידta/MIDalwaysבְּטוֹבbe/TOVwellוְלֹאve/LOand notרַקrakonlyבִּהְיוֹתִיbih/yo/TIwhen I amאִתְּכֶם׃it/te/KHEMwith you

    But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.

19. 19

    בָּנַיba/NAYmy sonsהַקְּטַנִּיםhak/ke/tan/NIMlittle onesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whomשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainאָחִילa/CHILI labor in birthעַדaduntilכִּי־יוּצַרki-yu/TSARthat is formedהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahבָּכֶם׃ba/KHEMin you

    My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

20. 20

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIIחָפַצְתִּיcha/FATS/tiI wishedלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beעַתָּהat/TAnowאִתְּכֶםit/te/KHEMwith youלְשַׁנּוֹתle/shan/NOTto changeאֶת־קוֹלִיet-ko/LImy voiceכִּיkiforנָבוֹךְna/VOKHperplexedאֲנִיa/NII amבָּכֶם׃ba/KHEMabout you

    I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.

21. 21

    אִמְרוּim/RUtellלִיlimeאַתֶּםat/TEMyouהַחֲפֵצִיםha/cha/fe/TSIMwho wantלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beתַּחַתTA/chatunderהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawהֲלֹאha/LOdo notתִשְׁמְעוּtish/me/Udo you hearאֶת־הַתּוֹרָה׃et-hat/to/RAthe law

    Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

22. 22

    כִּיkiforכָתוּבkha/TUVit is writtenשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoבָנִיםva/NIMsonsהָיוּha/YUwereלְאַבְרָהָםle/Av/ra/HAMto Abrahamהָאֶחָדha/e/CHADthe oneמִן־הָאָמָהmin-ha/a/MAby the bondwomanוְהַשֵּׁנִיve/hash/she/NIand the otherמִן־הַחׇפְשִׁיָּה׃min-ha/chof/shiy/YAby the free woman

    For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

23. 23

    וּבֶן־הָאָמָהu/VEN-ha/a/MAand the son of the bondwomanנוֹלַדno/LADwas bornלְפִיle/FIaccording toהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARthe fleshוּבֶן־הַחׇפְשִׁיָּהu/VEN-ha/chof/shiy/YAand the son of the free womanעַל־פִּיal-piaccording toהַהַבְטָחָה׃ha/hav/ta/CHAthe promise

    But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

24. 24

    וְהַדְּבָרִיםve/had/de/va/RIMand the thingsהֵםhemareמָשָׁלma/SHALan allegoryכִּיkiforאֵלֶּהEL/letheseהֵןhenareשְׁתֵּיshtethe twoהַבְּרִיתוֹתhab/be/ri/TOTcovenantsהָאַחַתha/a/CHATthe oneמִן־הַרmin-Harfrom MountסִינַיSi/NAYSinaiהַיּוֹלֶדֶתhay/yo/LE/detwhich bearsלְעַבְדוּתle/av/DUTfor slaveryוְהִיאve/HIand it isהָגָר׃Ha/GARHagar

    Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

25. 25

    כִּיkiforהָגָרHa/GARHagarזֹאתzotthisהִיאhishe isהַרhara mountainסִינַיSi/NAYSinaiבַּעֲרָבba/A/RAVin Arabiaוְהִיאve/HIand itלְעֻמַּתle/um/MATcorresponds toיְרוּשָׁלַיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichעַתָּהat/TAnow isכִּיkiforבְעַבְדוּתve/av/DUTin slaveryהִיאhiisעִם־בָּנֶיהָ׃im-ba/NE/hawith her children

    For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

26. 26

    אֲבָלa/VALbutיְרוּשָׁלַיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלְמַעְלָהle/MA/laaboveחׇפְשִׁיָּהchof/shiy/YAfreeהִיאhiisוְהִיאve/HIand she isאֵםemthe mother ofכֻּלָּנוּ׃kul/LA/nuus all

    But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

27. 27

    כִּיkiforכָתוּבkha/TUVit is writtenרׇנִּיron/NIsingעֲקָרָהa/ka/RAO barren oneלֹאlonotיָלָדָהya/LA/daboreפִּצְחִיpits/CHIbreak forthרִנָּהrin/NAinto singingוְצַהֲלִיve/tsa/ha/LIand cry aloudלֹא־חָלָהlo-CHA/lawho did not travailכִּי־רַבִּיםki-rab/BIMfor manyבְּנֵי־שׁוֹמֵמָהbe/NE-sho/me/MAthe children of the desolateמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEthan the children ofבְעוּלָה׃ve/u/LAthe married wife

    For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

28. 28

    וַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuand weאֶחָיe/CHAYmy brothersהִנְנוּhin/NUbehold we areכְיִצְחָקkhe/Yits/CHAKlike Isaacבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofהַהַבְטָחָה׃ha/hav/ta/CHAthe promise

    Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

29. 29

    וְכַאֲשֶׁרve/kha/a/SHERand asרָדַףra/DAFpersecutedאָזazthenהַנּוֹלָדhan/no/LADthe one bornלְפִי־הַבָּשָׂרle/FI-hab/ba/SARaccording to the fleshאֶת־הַנּוֹלָדet-han/no/LADthe one bornלְפִיle/FIaccording toהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritכֵּן־גַּם־עָתָּה׃ken-gam-AT/taso also now

    But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

30. 30

    וְהַכָּתוּבve/hak/ka/TUVand the scriptureמַה־הוּאma-huwhat does itאֹמֵרo/MERsayגָּרֵשׁga/RESHcast outהָאָמָהha/a/MAthe bondwomanוְאֶת־בְּנָהּve/ET-be/NAand her sonכִּיkiforלֹאlonotיִירַשׁYI/rashshall be heirבֶּן־הָאָמָהben-ha/a/MAthe son of the bondwomanעִםimwithבֶּן־הַחׇפְשִׁיָּה׃ben-ha/chof/shiy/YAthe son of the free woman

    Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

31. 31

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeאֶחָיe/CHAYmy brothersלֹא־בְנֵיlo-ve/NEnot sons ofהָאָמָהha/a/MAthe bondwomanאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuare weכִּיkibutאִם־בְּנֵיim-be/NErather sons ofהַחׇפְשִׁיָּה׃ha/chof/shiy/YAthe free woman

    So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
