   O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

   This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

   הַאַתֶּםha/at/TEMare youסְכָלִיםse/kha/LIMfoolsכָּכָהKA/khasoהַחִלּוֹתֶםha/chil/lo/TEMyou beganבָּרוּחַba/RU/achin the Spiritוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowתִּשְׁלְמוּtish/le/MUare you completedבַבָּשָׂר׃vab/ba/SARin the flesh

   Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

4. 4

   הֲרַבּוֹתha/rab/BOTso many thingsכָּאֵלֶּהka/EL/lesuchסְבַלְתֶּםse/val/TEMyou sufferedלָרִיקla/RIKfor nothingאִםimifאׇמְנָםom/NAMindeedלָרִיק׃la/RIKfor nothing

   Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהַנֹּתֵןhan/No/TENthe One who givesלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאֶת־הָרוּחַet-Ha/RU/achthe Spiritוּפֹעֵלu/fo/ELand worksגְּבוּרוֹתge/vu/ROTmighty worksבָּכֶםba/KHEMamong youהֲמִמַּעֲשֵׂיha/mim/ma/a/SEis it by the works ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawהוּאhuHeעֹשֶׂהo/SEdoesזֹאתzotthisאוֹoorמִשְּׁמוּעַתmish/she/mu/ATby the hearing ofהָאֱמוּנָה׃ha/e/mu/NAfaith

   He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

   כַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהֶאֱמִיןhe/e/MINbelievedאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamבֵּאלֹהִיםbe/lo/HIMin Godוַיַּחְשְׁבֶהָvay/yach/she/VE/haand He counted itלּוֹloto himצְדָקָה׃tse/da/KAfor righteousness

   Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

   דְּעוּde/Uknowאֵפוֹאe/FOthenכִּי־בְנֵיki-ve/NEthat the sons ofהָאֱמוּנָהha/e/mu/NAfaithבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamהֵמָּה׃HEM/maare they

   Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

8. 8

   וְהַכָּתוּבve/hak/ka/TUVand the scriptureצָפָהtsa/FAforesawכִּיkithatהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodיַצְדִּיקyats/DIKwould justifyאֶת־הַגּוֹיִםet-Hag/go/YIMthe Gentilesבָּאֱמוּנָהba/e/mu/NAby faithוְקִדֵּםve/kid/DEMand went aheadלְבַשֵּׂרle/vas/SERto preachאֶת־אַבְרָהָםet-Av/ra/HAMto Abrahamלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingוְנִבְרְכוּve/niv/re/KHUand shall be blessedבְךָve/KHAin youכׇּל־הַגּוֹיִם׃kol-hag/go/YIMall the nations

   And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

9. 9

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeמְבֹרָכִיםme/vo/ra/KHIMare blessedבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofהָאֱמוּנָהha/e/mu/NAfaithעִם־אַבְרָהָםim-Av/ra/HAMwith Abrahamהַמַּאֲמִין׃ham/ma/a/MINthe believer

   So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

    כִּיkiforכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHERall whoמִמַּעֲשֵׂיmim/ma/a/SEfrom the works ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawתַּחַתTA/chatunderהַקְּלָלָהhak/ke/la/LAthe curseהֵםhemareכִּיkiforכָתוּבkha/TUVit is writtenאָרוּרa/RURcursed isכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHEReveryone whoלֹא־יָקִיםlo-ya/KIMdoes not confirmאֶת־כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםet-kol-had/de/va/RIMall the wordsהַכְּתוּבִיםhak/ke/tu/VIMthat are writtenבְּסֵפֶרbe/SE/ferin the book ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doאוֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

    For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

    וְגָלוּיve/ga/LUYand it is plainהוּאhuit isכִּיkithatבַתּוֹרָהvat/to/RAin the lawלֹא־יִצְדַּקlo-yits/DAKis not justifiedאִישׁisha manלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodכִּיkiforצַדִּיקtsad/DIKthe righteousבֶּאֱמוּנָהbe/e/mu/NAby faithיִחְיֶה׃yich/YEhe shall live

    But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

12. 12

    וְהַתּוֹרָהve/hat/to/RAand the lawלֹאlonotמִן־הָאֱמוּנָהmin-ha/e/mu/NAof faithהִיאhiisכִּיkibutאִםimratherאֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶׂהa/SHER-ya/a/SEwhich if doesאֹתָםo/TAMthemהָאָדָםha/a/DAMa manוָחַיva/CHAYhe shall liveבָּהֶם׃ba/HEMin them

    And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

13. 13

    הַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahפָּדָנוּpa/da/NUredeemed usמִקִּלְלַתmik/kil/LATfrom the curse ofהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawבִּהְיוֹתוֹbih/yo/TOby becomingלִקְלָלָהlik/la/LAa curseבַּעֲדֵנוּba/a/DE/nufor usכִּיkiforכָתוּבkha/TUVit is writtenאָרוּרa/RURcursed isכׇּל־הַתָּלוּיkol-hat/ta/LUYeveryone who is hangedעַל־הָעֵץ׃al-ha/ETSon the tree

    Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14. 14

    לְמַעַןle/MA/ansoאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתָּבֹאta/VOmight comeבִּרְכַּתbir/KATthe blessing ofאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamבְּיֵשׁוּעַbe/Ye/SHU/athrough Jesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahעַל־הַגּוֹיִםal-Hag/go/YIMon the Gentilesלְמַעַןle/MA/ansoאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנִקַּחnik/KACHwe might receiveאֶת־הַבְטָחַתet-hav/ta/CHATthe promise ofהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughהָאֱמוּנָה׃ha/e/mu/NAfaith

    That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

15. 15

    אַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersכְּדֶרֶךְ־אָדָםke/DE/rekh-a/DAMafter the manner of menאֲנִיa/NIIמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspeakגַּםgamalsoכִּי־בְרִיתki-ve/RITfor though a covenantאָדָםa/DAMmanהִיאhiit isאִם־קָמָהim-KA/maif it is confirmedלֹאlonotיְפֵרֶנָּהye/fe/ren/NAannuls itאִישׁishanyoneוְלֹאve/LOorיוֹסִיףyo/SIFaddsעָלֶיהָ׃a/LE/hato it

    Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

16. 16

    וּלְאַבְרָהָםu/Le/av/ra/HAMand to Abrahamוּלְזַרְעוֹu/le/zar/Oand to his seedנֶאֶמְרוּne/em/RUwere spokenהַהַבְטָחוֹתha/hav/ta/CHOTthe promisesלֹאlonotאָמַרa/MARhe saysוְלִזְרָעֶיךָve/liz/ra/e/KHAand to your seedsכְּעַלke/ALas aboutרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyכִּיkibutאִם־כְּעַלim-ke/ALrather as ofאֶחָדe/CHADoneוּלְזַרְעֲךָu/le/zar/a/KHAand to your seedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהוּאhuisהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

17. 17

    וְזֹאתve/ZOTand thisאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayכִּיkithatהַבְּרִיתhab/be/RITthe covenantאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatקִיְּמָהּkiy/ye/MAconfirmed itהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodמִלְּפָנִיםmil/le/fa/NIMbeforeבַּמָּשִׁיחַbam/Ma/SHI/achin the Messiahלֹאlonotתוּכַלtu/KHALcanהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאַרְבַּע־מֵאוֹתar/BA-me/OTfour hundredוּשְׁלֹשִׁיםu/she/lo/SHIMand thirtyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsלְהָפֵרle/ha/FERto breakאוֹתָהּo/TAitלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתֻּפַרtu/FARit would annulהַהַבְטָחָה׃ha/hav/ta/CHAthe promise

    And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

18. 18

    כִּיkiforאִם־הַנַּחֲלָהim-han/na/cha/LAif the inheritanceמִן־הַתּוֹרָהmin-hat/to/RAof the lawהִיאhiisאֵינֶנָּהe/NEN/nait is notעוֹדodany longerמִן־הַהַבְטָחָהmin-ha/hav/ta/CHAfrom the promiseוְהָאֱלֹהִיםve/ha/e/lo/HIMand Godחָנַןcha/NANwas gracious toאֶת־אַבְרָהָםet-Av/ra/HAMAbrahamבְּהַבְטָחָה׃be/hav/ta/CHAby a promise

    For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

19. 19

    לָמָּהLAM/mawhyאֵפוֹאe/FOthenהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofהַפְּשָׁעִיםhap/pe/sha/IMthe transgressionsנוֹסָפָהno/sa/FAit was addedעַדaduntilכִּי־יָבוֹאki-ya/VOthat would comeהַזֶּרַעhaz/ZE/rathe seedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERto whomלוֹloto himהַהַבְטָחָהha/hav/ta/CHAthe promiseוְהִיאve/HIand itצֻוְּתָהtsuv/ve/TAwas appointedעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEbyמַלְאָכִיםmal/a/KHIMangelsבְּיַדbe/YADin the hand ofמְתַוֵּךְ׃me/tav/VEKHa mediator

    Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

20. 20

    וְהַמְתַוֵּךְve/ham/tav/VEKHand the mediatorאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuis notמְתַוֵּךְme/tav/VEKHa mediatorלְאֶחָדle/e/CHADof oneאֲבָלa/VALbutהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֶחָדe/CHADoneהוּא׃huis

    Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

21. 21

    הַאִםha/IMis it thatהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawאֵפוֹאe/FOthenנֶגֶדNE/gedagainstהַבְטָחוֹתhav/ta/CHOTthe promises ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodחָלִילָהcha/LI/lafar be itכִּיkiforאִלּוּil/LUifנִתְּנָהnit/te/NAhad been givenתוֹרָהto/RAa lawאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichתּוּכַלtu/KHALcouldלְהַחֲיוֹתle/ha/cha/YOTto give lifeאָזazthenבֶּאֱמֶתbe/e/METtrulyהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwould have beenהַצְּדָקָהhats/tse/da/KArighteousnessעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEbyהַתּוֹרָה׃hat/to/RAthe law

    Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

22. 22

    אֲבָלa/VALbutהַכָּתוּבhak/ka/TUVthe scriptureהִסְגִּירhis/GIRhas deliveredאֶת־הַכֹּלet-hak/KOLallבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofהַחֵטְאha/CHETsinלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatהַהַבְטָחָהha/hav/ta/CHAthe promiseבֶּאֱמוּנַתbe/e/mu/NATby the faith ofיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahתִּנָּתֵןtin/na/TENmight be givenלַמַּאֲמִינִים׃lam/ma/a/mi/NIMto those who believe

    But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

23. 23

    וְלִפְנֵיve/lif/NEand beforeבוֹאvothe coming ofהָאֱמוּנָהha/e/mu/NAfaithשְׁמוּרִיםshe/mu/RIMguardedהָיִינוּha/YI/nuwe wereתַּחַתTA/chatunderהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawסְגוּרִיםse/gu/RIMshut upאֶל־הָאֱמוּנָהel-ha/e/mu/NAto the faithאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichתִּגָּלֶהtig/ga/LEmay be revealedאַחֲרֵי־כֵן׃a/cha/RE-khenafter that

    But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

24. 24

    וּבְכֵןu/ve/KHENand soהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasלָנוּLA/nuto usלְאֹמֶנֶתle/o/ME/neta guardianלַהֲבִיאֵנוּla/ha/vi/e/NUto bring usאֶל־הַמָּשִׁיחַel-Ham/ma/SHI/achto the Messiahלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatנִצְדַּקnits/DAKwe might be justifiedבָּאֱמוּנָה׃ba/e/mu/NAby faith

    Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25. 25

    אֲבָלa/VALbutעַתָּהat/TAnowאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבָּאָהba/Ahas comeהָאֱמוּנָהha/e/mu/NAfaithאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuwe are notעוֹדodany longerתַּחַתTA/chatunderיַדyadthe hand ofהָאֹמֵן׃ha/o/MENthe guardian

    But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

26. 26

    כִּי־אַתֶּםki-at/TEMfor you areכֻּלְּכֶםkul/le/KHEMall of youבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughהָאֱמוּנָהha/e/mu/NAfaithבַּמָּשִׁיחַbam/Ma/SHI/achin the Messiahיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aJesus

    For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27. 27

    כִּיkiforכֻלְּכֶםkhul/le/KHEMall of youאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלַמָּשִׁיחַlam/Ma/SHI/achinto the Messiahנִטְבַּלְתֶּםnit/bal/TEMwere baptizedלְבַשְׁתֶּםle/vash/TEMhave put onאֶת־הַמָּשִׁיחַ׃et-Ham/ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28. 28

    אֵיןenthere is noיְהוּדִיYe/hu/DIJewוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noיְוָנִיYe/va/NIGreekאֵיןenthere is noעֶבֶדE/vedslaveוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noחׇפְשִׁיchof/SHIfreeאֵיןenthere is noזָכָרza/KHARmaleוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noנְקֵבָהne/ke/VAfemaleכִּיkiforכֻלְּכֶםkhul/le/KHEMall of youאֶחָדe/CHADoneאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areבַּמָּשִׁיחַbam/Ma/SHI/achin the Messiahיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aJesus

    There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

29. 29

    וְאִם־לַמָּשִׁיחַve/IM-lam/ma/SHI/achand if the Messiah'sאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areהִנְּכֶםhin/ne/KHEMthen you areזֶרַעZE/rathe seed ofאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamוְיוֹרְשִׁיםve/yor/SHIMand heirsכְּפִיke/FIaccording toהַהַבְטָחָה׃ha/hav/ta/CHAthe promise

    And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
