   אֲהָהּalas!גָּלָטִיםGalatiansחַסְרֵיlacking-inדָעַתknowledgeמִיwhoהִתְעָהhe-did-lead-awayאֶתְכֶםyouבִּכְשָׁפָיוwith-his-sorceriesלְבִלְתִּיto-notשְׁמֹעַto-hearאֶל־הָאֱמֶתthe-truth,אַחֲרֵיafterאֲשֶׁרwhichצֻיַּרwas-depictedיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahהַצָּלוּבthe-crucifiedלְנֶגֶדbeforeעֵינֵיכֶם׃your-eyes

   O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

   רַקonlyזֹאתthisאֶחְפֹּץI-desireלִלְמֹדto-learnמִכֶּםfrom-youהַאִםwhetherמִמַּעֲשֵׂיfrom-the-works-ofהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawקִבַּלְתֶּםreceivedאֶת־הָרוּחַthe-spiritאוֹorמִשְּׁמוּעַתfrom-hearing-ofהָאֱמוּנָה׃the-faith

   This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

3. 3

   הַסְכָלִיםthe-foolsאַתֶּםyou-areכׇּל־כָּךְall-soהַחִלּוֹתֶםhaving-begunבָּרוּחַin-the-Spiritוְעַתָּהand-nowתְּכַלּוּare-you-finishingבַבָּשָׂר׃in-the-flesh

   Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

   הֲכָזֹאתlike-this?נַעֲנֵיתֶםyou-sufferedלָרִיקto-emptinessאִם־אׇמְנָםif-trulyלָרִיק׃to-emptiness

   Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.

5. 5

   הִנֵּהbeholdהַמֵּפִיקhe-that-suppliethלָכֶםto-youאֶת־הָרוּחַthe-spiritוּפֹעֵלand-one who doesבָּכֶםin-youגְּבוּרוֹתmighty-worksהֲמִכֹּחַis-it-by-the-power-ofמַעֲשֵׂיworks-ofהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawהוּאheעֹשֶׂהdoאֵלֶּהtheseאוֹorמִכֹּחַthan-the-strength-ofשְׁמוּעַתreport-ofהָאֱמוּנָה׃the-faith

   He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

6. 6

   כַּאֲשֶׁרEven-asהֶאֱמִיןbelievedאַבְרָהָםAbrahamבֵּאלֹהִיםin-Godוַתֵּחָשֶׁבand-it was reckonedלוֹhimלִצְדָקָה׃for-righteousness

   Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

   דְּעוּknow!(pl)אֵפוֹאthenכִּי־בְנֵיbecause-sons-ofהָאֱמוּנָהthe-faithבְּנֵיthe-sons-ofאַבְרָהָםAbrahamהֵמָּה׃they

   Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

8. 8

   וְהַכָּתוּבand-the-which-is-writtenצָפָהforesawשֶׁעָתִידthat-futureהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godלְהַצְדִּיקto-justifyאֶת־הַגּוֹיִםthe-nationsמִתּוֹךְfrom-the-midst-ofהָאֱמוּנָהthe-faithוְקִדֵּםand-beforeלְבַשֵׂרpreachedאֶת־אַבְרָהָםunto-Abrahamלֵאמֹרsayingוְנִבְרְכוּand-they-were-blessedבְךָin-youכׇּל־הַגּוֹיִם׃all-the-nations

   And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

9. 9

   עַל־כֵּןthereforeיִתְבָּרֲכוּblessed-shall-beבְּנֵיthe-sons-ofהָאֱמוּנָהthe-faithעִם־אַבְרָהָםwith-Abrahamהַמַּאֲמִין׃the-one-believing

   So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

10. 10

    כִּיbecauseבְנֵיthe-sons-ofמַעֲשֵׂיworks-ofהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawעֲלֵיהֶםupon-themהַקְּלָלָהthe-curseכִּיbecauseכָתוּבwrittenאָרוּרcursed-isאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־יָקִיםnot-shall-raise-upאֶת־כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםall-the-wordsהַכְּתוּבִיםwhich-are-writtenבְּסֵפֶרin-a-bookהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawלַעֲשׂוֹתto-doאוֹתָם׃them

    For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

11. 11

    וְגָלוּיand-evidentוְיָדוּעַand-knownשֶׁבַּתּוֹרָהthat-by-the-lawלֹא־יִצְדַּקis-not-justifiedהָאָדָםthe-manלִפְנֵיbeforeהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godכִּי־צַדִּיקbecause-righteousבֶּאֱמוּנָתוֹby-his-faithיִחְיֶה׃he-shall-live

    But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

12. 12

    וְהַתּוֹרָהand-the-lawלֹאnotמִן־הָאֱמוּנָהfrom-the-faithהִיאsheכִּיbutאִםratherאֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶׂהif-whose-he-shall-doאֹתָםthemהָאָדָםthe-manוָחַיand-livingבָּהֶם׃in-them

    And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

13. 13

    הַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahפָּדָנוּredeemed-usמִקִּלְלַתfrom-the-curse-ofהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawבִּהְיוֹתוֹbeingלִקְלָלָהinto-a curseבַּעֲדֵנוּon-our-behalfכַּכָּתוּבas-it-is-writtenאָרוּרCursed-isכׇּל־הַתָּלוּיevery-one-that-hangethעַל־הָעֵץ׃on-a-tree:

    Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14. 14

    לְמַעַןin-order-thatאֲשֶׁרwhichתָּבֹאcomesבִּרְכַּתblessing-ofאַבְרָהָםAbrahamבַּמָּשִׁיחַin-the-MessiahיֵשׁוּעַJesusעַל־הַגּוֹיִםupon-the-nationsלְמַעַןin-order-thatאֲשֶׁרwhichנִקַּחlet-us-takeאֶת־הַבְטָחַתthe-promise-ofהָרוּחַthe-Spiritעַל־יְדֵיby-means-ofהָאֱמוּנָה׃the-faith

    That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

15. 15

    אַחַיmy-brothersכְּדֶרֶךְ־אָדָםafter-manner-of-manאֲנִיIמְדַבֵּרspeaksאֲפִלּוּThough-it-be-butצַוָּאָהa-testamentשֶׁל־בֶּן־אָדָםof-son-of-manאִם־מְקֻיֶּמֶתif-confirmedהִיאsheלֹאnotיְפֵרֶנָּהannuls-itאִישׁa-manוְלֹא־יוֹסִיףand-none-addsעָלֶיהָ׃upon-it

    Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

16. 16

    וְהִנֵּהand-beholdלְאַבְרָהָםunto-Abrahamנֶאֶמְרוּwere-spokenהַהַבְטָחוֹתthe-promisesוּלְזַרְעוֹand-to-his-seedוְלֹא־אָמַרand-not-saidוְלִזְרָעֶיךָand-to-your-seedsכְּאִלּוּas-thoughלָרַבִּיםto-manyאֶלָּאbut-ratherכְּאִלּוּas-thoughלְיָחִידto-oneוּלְזַרְעֲךָand-unto-your-seedוְהוּאand-heהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃the-Messiah

    Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

17. 17

    וְזֹאתand-thisאֲנִיIאֹמֵרsayכִּיbecauseבְּרִיתcovenant-ofאֲשֶׁרwhichקִיְּמָהּconfirmed-itהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godמֵאָזsinceלֹאnotתוּכַלcanהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawהַבָּאָהthe-comingאַחֲרֵיafterאַרְבַּע־מֵאוֹתfour-hundredוּשְׁלשִׁיםand-thirtyשָׁנָהyearsלְהָפֵרto-breakאוֹתָהּitוּלְבַטֵּלand-to-annulאֶת־הַהַבְטָחָה׃the-promise

    And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

18. 18

    כִּיbecauseאִם־הַנַּחֲלָהif-the-inheritanceמִתּוֹךְfrom-the-midst-ofהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawהִיאsheאֵינֶנָּהis-notעוֹדany-moreמִתּוֹךְfrom-the-midst-ofהַהַבְטָחָהthe-promiseוְהָאֱלֹהִיםand-the-Godחָנַןwas-graciousאֶת־אַבְרָהָםunto-Abrahamעַל־יְדֵיby-means-ofהַבְטָחָה׃a-promise

    For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

19. 19

    אִם־כֵּן־הַתּוֹרָהif-thus-the-lawמַה־הִיאwhat-it-isמִפְּנֵיbecause-ofהַפְּשָׁעִיםthe-transgressionsנוֹסָפָהit-was-addedעַדuntilכִּי־יָבוֹאbecause-shall-comeהַזֶּרַעthe-seedאֲשֶׁר־לוֹwhomהַהַבְטָחָהthe-promiseוְהִיאand-she-wasעֲרוּכָהarrangedעַל־יְדֵיby-means-ofהַמַּלְאָכִיםthe-angelsוּבְיַדand-by-the-hand-ofמְתַוֵּךְ׃a-mediator

    Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

20. 20

    וְאֵיןand-has-noמְתַוֵיךְmediatorלְאֶחָדof-oneאֲבָלbutהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godהוּאheאֶחָד׃one

    Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

21. 21

    וְעַתָּהand-nowהַמְבַטֶּלֶתdoes-annulהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawאֶת־הַבְטָחוֹתthe-promises-ofהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godחָלִילָהfar-be-itכִּיbecauseאִלּוּifנִתְּנָהwas-given(f)תוֹרָהa-lawשֶׁבְּכֹחָהּthat-in-her-powerלְהַחֲיוֹתto-give-lifeאָזthenבֶּאֱמֶתin-truthהָיְתָהwasהַצְּדָקָהthe-righteousnessעַל־יְדֵיby-means-ofהַתּוֹרָה׃the-law

    Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

22. 22

    אֲבָלbutהַכָּתוּבthe-which-is-writtenהִסְגִּירhath-shut-upאֶת־הַכֹּלallבְּיַדin-the-hand-ofהַחֵטְאthe-sinלְמַעַןin-order-thatתִּנָּתֵןmight-be-givenהַהַבְטָחָהthe-promiseאֶל־הַמַּאֲמִינִיםto-the-believersבֶּאֱמוּנַתin-faith-ofיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃the-Messiah

    But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

23. 23

    וְלִפְנֵיand-beforeבוֹאthe-coming-ofהָאֱמוּנָהthe-faithשְׁמוּרִיםkeptוּסְגוּרִיםand-shut(pl)הָיִינוּwe-wereתַּחַתunderהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawאֱלֵיtoהָאֱמוּנָהthe-faithהָעֲתִידָהthe-futureלְהִגָּלוֹת׃to-be-revealed

    But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

24. 24

    וּבְכֵןand-in-suchהַתּוֹרָהthe-lawהָיְתָהwasאֹמֶנֶתa-schoolmasterאוֹתָנוּusלַמָּשִׁיחַunto-the-Messiahלְמַעַןin-order-thatנִצְדַּקwe-might-be-justifiedבָּאֱמוּנָה׃in-the-faith

    Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25. 25

    אֲבָלbutעַתָּהnowאַחֲרֵיafterאֲשֶׁרwhichבָּאָהcomesהָאֱמוּנָהthe-faithאֵינֶנּוּthere-is-notעוֹדany-moreתַּחַתunderיַדthe-hand-ofהָאֹמֵן׃the-tutor

    But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

26. 26

    כִּי־אַתֶּםbecause-you-areכֻּלְּכֶםall-youבְּנֵיthe-sons-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodעַל־יְדֵיby-means-ofהָאֱמוּנָהthe-faithבַּמָּשִׁיחַin-the-Messiahיֵשׁוּעַ׃Jesus

    For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27. 27

    כִּיbecauseכֻלְּכֶםall-of-youאֲשֶׁרwhichלַמָּשִׁיחַunto-the-Messiahנִטְבַּלְתֶּםyou-were-baptizedלְבַשְׁתֶּםyou-put-onאֶת־הַמָּשִׁיחַ׃the-Messiah

    For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28. 28

    וְאֵיןand-has-noעוֹדany-moreיְהוּדִיJewוְלֹאand-notיְוָנִיGreekאֵיןthere-is-noעֶבֶדthe-servant-ofוְלֹאand-notבֶן־חוֹרִיןfree-personאֵיןthere-is-noזָכָרmaleוְלֹאand-notנְקֵבָהa femaleכִּיbecauseכֻלְּכֶםall-of-youאֶחָדoneאַתֶּםyou-areבַּמָּשִׁיחַin-the-Messiahיֵשׁוּעַ׃Jesus

    There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

29. 29

    וְאִם־לַמָּשִׁיחַand-if-unto-the-Messiahאַתֶּםyou-areהִנְּכֶםthen-you-areזֶרַעseedאַבְרָהָםAbrahamוְיוֹרְשִׁיםand-inheritingכְּפִיaccording-toהַהַבְטָחָה׃the-promise

    And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
