    שִׁמְעוּhearבָּנִיםchildrenאֶל־הוֹרֵיכֶםto-your-parentsבַּאֲדֹנֵינוּin-the-Lordכִּי־אֹרַחbecause-pathישֶׁרuprightnessהוּא׃it-is

    Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

    כַּבֵּדhonorאֶת־אָבִיךָyour-fatherוְאֶת־אִמֶּךָand-your-motherזֹאתthisהִיאsheהַמִּצְוָהthe-commandmentהָרִאשׁוֹנָהthe-firstשֶׁמַּתַּןthat-gift-ofשְׂכָרָהּits-rewardבְּצִדָּהּ׃is-with-it

    Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

    לְמַעַןin-order-thatיִיטַבit-shall-be-wellלָךְto-youוּלְמַעַןand-thatיַאֲרִיכֻןthey may be long-!יָמֶיךָyour-daysעַל־הָאֲדָמָה׃upon-the-earth

    That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

    וְאַתֶּםand-youהָאָבוֹתthe-fathersאַל־תַּכְעִיסוּprovoke-notאֶת־בְּנֵיכֶםyour-childrenוְגַדְּלוּand-bring-them-upאֹתָםthemבְּמוּסַרin-discipline-ofאֲדֹנֵינוּour-Lordוּבְתוֹכַחְתּוֹ׃and-admonition-of-him

    And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

    שִׁמְעוּhearעֲבָדִיםservantsאֶל־אֲדֹנֵיכֶםto-your-mastersמִן־הַבָּשָׂרaccording-to-the-fleshבְּיִרְאָהin-fearוָרֶתֶתand-tremblingוּבְתָם־לְבַבְכֶםand-in-the integrity of-your-heartsכִּשְׁמֹעַas-obeyingלַמָּשִׁיחַ׃unto-the-Messiah

    Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

    לֹאnotבַעֲבֹדָהin-laborשֶׁהִיאthat-it-isלְמַרְאֵהat-the-appearance-ofעֵינַיִםby-the-eyes-ofכִּמְבַקְשִׁיםas-seekלִמְצֹאto-findחֵןfavorבְּעֵינֵיin-the-eyes-ofבְנֵי־אָדָםthe-sons-of-manכִּיbecauseאִם־כְּעַבְדֵיbut-as-servants-ofהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahהָעֹשִׂיםdoingרְצוֹןthe-will-ofהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godבְּכׇל־נַפְשָׁם׃in-all-their-soul

    Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

    לַעֲבֹדservingבְּנֶפֶשׁwith-a-soulחֲפֵצָהwillingאֶת־הָאָדוֹןthe-Lordוְלֹאand-notבְנֵיthe-sons-ofאָדָם׃man

    With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:

    וִידַעְתֶּםand-you-shall-knowכִּיbecauseכׇּל־דָּבָרwhatsoeverטוֹבgoodאֲשֶׁרwhichעָשָׂהdoethהָאָדָםthe-manיְשַׁלְּמֶנּוּshall-repay-himלוֹhimאֲדֹנֵינוּour-Lordבֵּיןamongשֶׁהוּא־עֶבֶדwhether-he-be-bondוּבֵיןand-betweenשֶׁהוּאwhether-he-beבֶן־חוֹרִין׃free

    Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

    וְאַתֶּםand-youהָאֲדֹנִיםthe-lordsכָּכָהthe-sameתַעֲשׂוּdoגַּם־לָהֶםalso-to-themחִדְלוּforbearingמִגְּעָר־בָּםthreatening-themוִידַעְתֶּםand-you-shall-knowכִּיbecauseגַם־עֲלֵיכֶםalso-over-youיֵשׁthereאָדוֹןa-Masterבַּשָּׁמַיִםin-heavenוְאֵיןand-has-noלְפָנָיוbefore-himמַשּׂאrespect-ofפָנִים׃persons

    And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

    סוֹףfinallyדָּבָרthe-matterאֶחָיbrothers-myחִזְקוּbe strongבַאֲדֹנֵינוּin-our-Lordוּבְעֹזand-in-the-strength-ofגְּבוּרָתוֹ׃his-power

    Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

  11. 11

    לִבְשׁוּput-onכְּלֵי־נֶשֶׁקthe-whole-armor-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodלְמַעַןin-order-thatתּוּכְלוּyou-mayעֲמֹדto-standנֶגֶדagainstנִכְלֵיthe-wiles-ofהַשָּׂטָן׃the-devil

    Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

    כִּיbecauseלֹאnotעִם־בָּשָׂרwith-the-fleshוָדָםand-bloodמִלְחָמָהthe-wrestlingלָנוּusכִּיbecauseעִם־שָׂרִיםagainst-principalitiesוְשַׁלִּיטִיםand-powersעִם־הַמּשְׁלִיםagainst-the-rulersבְּחֶשְׁכַּתin-the-darkness-ofהָעוֹלָםthe-worldהַזֶּהthisעִם־הָרוּחוֹתagainst-the-spiritsהָרָעוֹתthe-wickedאֲשֶׁרwhichבַּמְּרוֹמִים׃in-the-heights

    For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

    עַל־כֵּןthereforeאֶחֱזוּtake-upבִּכְלֵי־נֶשֶׁקthe-whole-armor-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodלְמַעַןin-order-thatתּוּכְלוּyou-mayלָקוּםto-withstandבַּיּוֹםin-the-dayהָרָעthat-which-is-evilוּלְמַלֵּאand-to-fillצְבָאֲכֶםyour-warfareוְלַעֲמוֹד׃and-to-stand

    Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

    עִמְדוּ־נָאstand-I-prayחֲגוּרֵיgirded-withהָאֱמֶתthe-truthבְּמׇתְנֵיכֶםin-loins-yourוּלְבוּשִׁיםand-clothedשִׁרְיוֹןthe-breastplate-ofהַצֶּדֶק׃righteousness

    Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

  15. 15

    וְרַגְלֵיכֶםand-your-feetמֻנְעָלוֹתshodלִהְיוֹתto-beמוּכָנִיםpreparedלִבְשׂוֹרַתwith-the-gospel-ofהַשָּׁלוֹם׃the-peace

    And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

  16. 16

    וְעַל־כׇּל־אֵלֶּהand-upon-all-theseתִּפְשׂוּtakingאֶת־מָגֵןthe-shield-ofהָאֱמוּנָהthe-faithאֲשֶׁרwhichתּוּכְלוּyou-mayלְכַבּוֹתto-extinguishבּוֹin-himאֶת־חִצֵּיthe-arrows-ofהָרָשָׁעthe-wickedהַדֹּלְקִים׃fiery

    Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

    וּקְחוּand-takeאֶת־כּוֹבַעthe-helmet-ofהַיְשׁוּעָהthe-salvationוְחֶרֶבand-sword-ofהָרוּחַthe-Spiritשֶׁהִיאthat-it-isדְּבַרthe-word-ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃the-God

    And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

    וְהַתְמִידוּand-continuingבְכׇל־עֵתwith-all-timeבִּתְפִלָּהin-prayerוְתַחֲנוּנִיםand-supplicationבָּרוּחַin-the-Spiritוְשִׁקְדוּand-watchingוְהִתְאַמְּצוּand-perseveringלְהַעְתִּירto-prayיַחַדtogetherבְּעַדthroughכׇּל־הַקְּדוֹשִׁים׃all-the-saints

    Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

    וְגַם־בַּעֲדִיand-also-for-meלְמַעַןin-order-thatיִנָּתֶן־לִיshall-be-given-to-meהַדָּבָרthe-thingבְּפִתְחִיwhen-open-Iפִיmy-mouthלְגַלּוֹתto-make-knownבְּאֹמֶץwith-courageלֵבheartאֶת־סוֹדthe-mystery-ofהַבְּשׂוֹרָהthe-gospelאֲשֶׁרwhichאֲנִיIמְלִיצָהּan-ambassador-for-itבְּמוֹסֵרוֹת׃in-bonds

    And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

  20. 20

    לְמַעַןin-order-thatאֲדַבֵּרI-speakבָּהּin-herכַּאֲשֶׁרasמֻטָּלit-is-incumbentעָלַיI-mustלְדַבֵּרto-speakוְלֹאand-notאֵחָת׃be-dismayed

    For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

  21. 21

    וּלְמַעַןand-thatאֲשֶׁרwhichתֵּדְעוּyou-may-knowגַם־אַתֶּםalso-youאֶת־קֹרֹתַיmy-affairsוְאֶת־מַעֲשָׂיand-works-myהִנֵּהbeholdטוּכִיקוֹסTychicusהָאָחthe-brotherהֶחָבִיבthe-belovedוְהַמְשָׁרֵתand-ministerהַנֶּאֱמָןthe-faithfulבַּאֲדֹנֵינוּin-the-Lordיַגִּידshall-declareלָכֶםto-youהַכֹּל׃all

    But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:

  22. 22

    אֲשֶׁרwhichלָזֹאתto-thisשְׁלַחְתִּיהוּI-sent-himאֲלֵיכֶםunto-youלְהוֹדִיעֲכֶםto-make-known-you(pl)אֶת־קֹרֹתֵינוּour-proceedingsוּלְמַעַןand-thatיְנַחֵםhe-might-comfortאֶת־לְבַבְכֶם׃your-hearts

    Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

  23. 23

    הַשָּׁלוֹםthe-peaceלָאַחִיםto-the-brethrenוְהָאַהֲבָהand-the-loveעִם־הָאֱמוּנָהwith-the-faithמֵאֵתfromהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godהָאָבthe-Fatherוּמֵאֵתand-from-withהָאָדוֹןthe-LordיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃the-Messiah

    Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

  24. 24

    הַחֶסֶדthe-graceעִם־כׇּל־הָאֹהֲבִיםwith-all-them-that-loveאֶת־אֲדֹנֵינוּour-LordיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahבְּאַהֲבָהin-loveאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־תִכְלֶהfaileth-notאָמֵן׃amen

    Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
