   Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

2. 2

   And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

   But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

   וְלֹאve/LOneitherנַבְלוּתnav/LUTfilthinessוְלֹאve/LOnorדִבְרֵיdiv/REthe words ofסִכְלוּתsikh/LUTfollyוְלֹאve/LOnorלָצוֹןla/TSONscoffingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹאlonotיֵעָשׂוּye/a/SUshould be doneכִּיkibutאִם־תּוֹדָה׃im-to/DArather thanksgiving

   Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

   For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

   אַל־יַשִּׁיאal-yash/SHIlet not deceiveאִישׁishanyoneאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבְּדִבְרֵיbe/div/REwith words ofרִיקrikemptinessכִּיkiforבִגְלַל־אֵלֶּהvig/LAL-EL/lebecause of theseחֲרוֹןcha/RONthe wrath ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodיָבֹאya/VOcomesעַל־בְּנֵיal-be/NEon the sons ofהַמֶּרִי׃ham/ME/rirebellion

   Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeאַל־יְהִיal-ye/HIlet not beחֶלְקְכֶםchel/ke/KHEMyour portionעִמָּהֶם׃im/ma/HEMwith them

   Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

8. 8

   כִּיkiforמִלְּפָנִיםmil/le/fa/NIMformerlyהֱיִיתֶםhe/yi/TEMyou wereחֹשֶׁךְCHO/shekhdarknessוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנְּכֶםhin/ne/KHEMyou areאוֹרorlightבָּאָדוֹןba/a/DONin the Lordהִתְהַלְּכוּ־נָאhit/hal/le/KHU-nawalkכִּבְנֵיkiv/NEas children ofאוֹר׃orlight

   For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

9. 9

   כִּיkiforפְרִיfe/RIfruitהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritבְּכׇל־טוּבbe/KHOL-tuvin all goodnessוְצֶדֶקve/TSE/dekand righteousnessוֶאֱמֶת׃ve/e/METand truth

   (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

10. 10

    בֹּחֲנִיםbo/cha/NIMtestingמֶה־הָרָצוּיme-ha/ra/TSUYwhat is acceptableלָאָדוֹן׃la/a/DONto the Lord

    Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

11. 11

    וְאַל־תִּתְחַבְּרוּve/AL-tit/chab/be/RUand do not joinלְמַעֲשֵׂיle/ma/a/SEto the works ofהַחֹשֶׁךְha/CHO/shekhdarknessאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֵיןennotלָהֶםla/HEMto themפְּרִיpe/RIfruitכִּיkibutאִם־הוֹכֵחַim-ho/KHE/achrather rebukeתּוֹכִיחוּto/khi/CHUrebukeאוֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

    And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

12. 12

    כִּיkiforחֶרְפָּהcher/PAa disgraceהִיאhiit isגַּםgamevenלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakבָּאֵלֶּהba/EL/lein theseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנַעֲשׂוּna/a/SUare doneעַל־יָדָםal-ya/DAMby themבַּסֵּתֶר׃bas/SE/terin secret

    For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

13. 13

    אַךְakhbutכׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםkol-had/de/va/RIMall thingsהַנּוֹכָחִיםhan/no/kha/CHIMthat are exposedיְגֻלּוּye/gul/LUare revealedעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEbyהָאוֹרha/ORthe lightכִּיkiforכׇל־הַמְגַלֶּהkhol-ham/gal/LEall that revealsאוֹרorlightהוּא׃huis

    But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

14. 14

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeהוּאhuitאוֹמֵרo/MERsaysעוּרָהU/raawakeהַיָּשֵׁןhay/ya/SHENO sleeperוְקוּמָהve/KU/maand ariseמִן־הַמֵּתִיםmin-ham/me/TIMfrom the deadוְיָאֵרve/ya/ERand will shineלְךָle/KHAon youהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

15. 15

    רְאוּre/Useeאֵפוֹאe/FOthenכִּיkithatתִּתְהַלְּכוּtit/hal/le/KHUyou may walkבְּהִשָּׁמֵרbe/hish/sha/MERcarefullyלֹאlonotכַּכְּסִילִיםkak/ke/si/LIMas foolsכִּיkibutאִם־כַּחֲכָמִים׃im-ka/cha/kha/MIMrather as the wise

    See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16. 16

    פֹּדִיםpo/DIMredeemingאֶת־הָעֵתet-ha/ETthe timeכִּיkiforהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMthe daysרָעִיםra/IMevilהֵמָּה׃HEM/maare

    Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17. 17

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeאַל־תִּהְיוּal-tih/YUdo not beחַסְרֵיchas/RElackingדָעַתDA/atknowledgeכִּיkibutאִם־מְבִינִיםim-me/vi/NIMrather understandingלָדַעַתla/DA/atto knowמָהmawhat isרְצוֹןre/TSONthe will ofהָאָדוֹן׃ha/a/DONthe Lord

    Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

18. 18

    וְאַל־תִּשְׁתַּכְּרוּve/AL-tish/tak/ke/RUand do not get drunkבַּיַּיִןbay/YA/yinwith wineאֲשֶׁרa/SHERin whichבּוֹboin itהוֹלֵלוּתho/le/LUTis madnessכִּיkibutאִם־הִמָּלְאוּim-him/ma/le/Urather be filledבָרוּחַ׃Va/RU/achwith the Spirit

    And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

19. 19

    מְדַבְּרִיםme/dab/be/RIMspeakingאִישׁisheachאֶל־רֵעֵהוּel-re/E/huto his neighborבְּמִזְמוֹרִיםbe/miz/mo/RIMin psalmsוּתְהִלּוֹתu/te/hil/LOTand hymnsוְשִׁירֵיve/shi/REand songsהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritשָׁרִיםsha/RIMsingingוּמְזַמְּרִיםu/me/zam/me/RIMand singingבִּלְבַבְכֶםbil/vav/KHEMin your heartsלָאָדוֹן׃la/a/DONto the Lord

    Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

20. 20

    מוֹדִיםmo/DIMgive thanksבְּכׇל־עֵתbe/KHOL-etat all timesעַל־הַכֹּלal-hak/KOLfor allלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godוְלָאָבve/La/AVand the Fatherבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

21. 21

    נִכְנָעִיםnikh/na/IMsubmittingאִישׁisheachלְרֵעֵהוּle/re/E/huto his neighborבְּיִרְאַתbe/yir/ATin the fear ofאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

22. 22

    הַנָּשִׁיםhan/na/SHIMwivesהִכָּנַעְנָהhik/ka/na/NAsubmitלְבַעֲלֵיכֶןle/va/a/le/KHENto your husbandsכְּמוֹke/MOasלָאָדוֹן׃la/a/DONto the Lord

    Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23. 23

    כִּיkiforהָאִישׁha/ISHthe husbandהוּא־רֹאשׁhu-roshis the head ofהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe wifeכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahהוּאhuisרֹאשׁroshthe head ofהַקְּהִלָּהhak/ke/hil/LAthe churchוְהוּאve/HUand he isמוֹשִׁיעַmo/SHI/athe savior ofהַגּוּף׃hag/GUFthe body

    For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

24. 24

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהַקְּהִלָּהhak/ke/hil/LAthe churchנִכְנַעַתnikh/NA/atis subjectלַמָּשִׁיחַlam/Ma/SHI/achto the Messiahכֵּןkensoתִּכָּנַעְנָהtik/ka/na/NAlet submitהַנָּשִׁיםhan/na/SHIMthe wivesלְבַעֲלֵיהֶןle/va/a/le/HENto their husbandsבְּכׇל־דָּבָר׃be/KHOL-da/VARin every thing

    Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25. 25

    הָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMhusbandsאֶהֱבוּe/he/VUloveאֶת־נְשֵׁיכֶםet-ne/she/KHEMyour wivesכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasגַּם־הַמָּשִׁיחַgam-Ham/ma/SHI/achthe Messiah alsoאָהַבa/HAVlovedאֶת־הַקְּהִלָּהet-hak/ke/hil/LAthe churchוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹet-naf/SHOhis lifeבַּעֲדָהּ׃ba/a/DAfor her

    Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26. 26

    לְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיְקַדְּשֶׁהָye/kad/de/she/HAhe might sanctifyוִיטַהֲרֶהָvi/ta/ha/re/HAand cleanse itבְּרַחְצַתbe/rach/TSATwith the washing ofהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe waterבַּדָּבָר׃bad/da/VARby the word

    That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27. 27

    לְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיַעֲמִידֶהָya/a/mi/de/HAhe might present itלוֹloto himselfקְהִלָּהke/hil/LAa churchנִכְבָּדָהnikh/ba/DAgloriousאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֵין־בָּהּen-bahas noמוּםmumblemishוָקֶמֶטva/KE/metor wrinkleאוֹoorכׇל־דָּבָרkhol-da/VARany thingכָּאֵלֶּהka/EL/lesuchכִּיkibutאִם־לִהְיוֹתim-lih/YOTrather to beקְדוֹשָׁהke/do/SHAholyוּתְמִימָה׃u/te/mi/MAand blameless

    That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28. 28

    כֵּןkensoעַל־הָאֲנָשִׁיםal-ha/a/na/SHIMon the menלֶאֱהֹבle/e/HOVto loveאֶת־נְשֵׁיהֶםet-ne/she/HEMtheir wivesכְּגוּפוֹתָםke/gu/fo/TAMas their bodiesהָאֹהֵבha/o/HEVthe one who lovesאֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹet-ish/TOhis wifeאֹהֵבo/HEVlovesאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹ׃et-naf/SHOhimself

    So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

29. 29

    כִּיkiforמֵעוֹלָםme/o/LAMeverלֹא־שָׂנֵאlo-sa/NEdid not hateאִישׁishanyoneאֶת־בְּשָׂרוֹet-be/sa/ROhis own fleshכִּיkibutאִם־מְכַלְכֵּלim-me/khal/KELrather nourishesוְזָןve/ZANand cherishesאֹתוֹo/TOitכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordאֶת־הַקְּהִלָּה׃et-hak/ke/hil/LAthe church

    For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

30. 30

    כִּי־אֵבָרֵיki-e/va/REfor the members ofגוּפוֹgu/FOhis bodyאֲנָחְנוּa/NACH/nuare weמִבְּשָׂרוֹmib/be/sa/ROof his fleshוּמֵעֲצָמָיו׃u/me/a/tsa/MAYVand of his bones

    For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31. 31

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeיַעֲזׇב־אִישׁya/a/ZOV-ishshall a man leaveאֶת־אָבִיוet-a/VIVhis fatherוְאֶת־אִמּוֹve/ET-im/MOand his motherוְדָבַקve/da/VAKand shall cleaveבְּאִשְׁתּוֹbe/ish/TOto his wifeוְהָיוּve/ha/YUand shall becomeשְׁנֵיהֶםshe/ne/HEMthe two of themלְבָשָׂרle/va/SARfleshאֶחָד׃e/CHADone

    For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32. 32

    גָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatהַסּוֹדhas/SODthe secretהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspeakעַל־הַמָּשִׁיחַal-Ham/ma/SHI/achabout the Messiahוְעַל־הַקְּהִלָּה׃ve/AL-hak/ke/hil/LAand the church

    This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

33. 33

    וְאוּלָםve/u/LAMbutגַּם־אַתֶּםgam-at/TEMyou alsoכׇּל־אִישׁkol-ishevery manמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youיֶאֱהַבye/e/HAVlet loveאֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹet-ish/TOhis wifeכְּנַפְשׁוֹke/naf/SHOas himselfוְהָאִשָּׁהve/ha/ish/SHAand the wifeהִיאhisheתִזָּהֵרtiz/za/HERlet take careוְתִירָאve/ti/RAto fearאֶת־בַּעְלָהּ׃et-ba/LAher husband

    Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
