   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeמְבַקֵּשׁme/vak/KESHaskאֲנִיa/NIIמִכֶּםmik/KEMyouהָאָסִירha/a/SIRthe prisonerבָּאָדוֹןba/a/DONin the Lordלְהִתְהַלֵּךְle/hit/hal/LEKHto walkכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasיָאֲתָהya/a/TAbefitsלַקְּרִיאָהlak/ke/ri/Ato the callingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERto whichנִקְרֵאתֶם׃nik/re/TEMyou were called

   I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

   בְּכׇל־שִׁפְלוּתbe/KHOL-shif/LUTwith all humilityוַעֲנָוָהva/a/na/VAand meeknessבְּאֹרֶךְbe/O/rekhin length ofאַפַּיִםap/PA/yimangerנֹשְׂאִיםnos/IMforbearingאִישׁisheachאֶת־רֵעֵהוּet-re/E/huhis neighborבְּאַהֲבָה׃be/a/ha/VAin love

   With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

3. 3

   וַחֲרוּצִיםva/cha/ru/TSIMand diligentלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORto keepאֶת־יַחַדet-YA/chadthe unity ofהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritבַּאֲגֻדַּתba/a/gud/DATin the bond ofהַשָּׁלוֹם׃hash/sha/LOMpeace

   Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

   גּוּףgufa bodyאֶחָדe/CHADoneוְרוּחַve/RU/achand Spiritאֶחָדe/CHADoneכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasגַּם־נִקְרֵאתֶםgam-nik/re/TEMyou were also calledבְּתִקְוַתbe/tik/VATin the hope ofקְרִיאַתְכֶםke/ri/at/KHEMyour callingהָאֶחָת׃ha/e/CHATone

   There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

   אָדוֹןa/DONLordאֶחָדe/CHADoneאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAfaithאַחַתa/CHAToneטְבִילָהte/vi/LAbaptismאֶחָת׃e/CHATone

   One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

   אֵלelGodאֶחָדe/CHADoneוְאָבve/AVand Fatherלַכֹּלlak/KOLof allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהוּאhuisעַל־הַכֹּלal-hak/KOLover allוּבְתוֹךְu/ve/TOKHand amongהַכֹּלhak/KOLallוּבְכֻלְּכֶם׃u/ve/khul/le/KHEMand in all of you

   One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

   אֲבָלa/VALbutלְכׇל־אֶחָדle/KHOL-e/CHADto each oneמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof usנִתַּןnit/TANwas givenהֶחָסֶדhe/CHA/sedgraceכְּמִדַּתke/mid/DATaccording to the measure ofמַתְּנַתmat/te/NATthe gift ofהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

   But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

8. 8

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeהוּאhuitאוֹמֵרo/MERsaysעָלָהa/LAhe ascendedלַמָּרוֹםlam/ma/ROMon highשָׁבָהSHA/vahe led captiveשֶׁבִיSHE/vicaptivityוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand he gaveמַתָּנוֹתmat/ta/NOTgiftsלָאָדָם׃la/a/DAMto men

   Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

   וּמַהu/MAand whatהוּאhuis itעָלָהa/LAhe went upאִם־לֹאim-loif notכִּיkithatגַּם־יָרַדgam-ya/RADhe also descendedבָּרִאשֹׁנָהba/ri/sho/NAfirstאֶל־תַּחְתִּיּוֹתel-tach/tiy/YOTto the lower parts ofהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe earth

   (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

    הוּאhuheהַיֹּרֵדhay/yo/REDwho descendedוְהוּאve/HUis heהָעֹלֶהha/o/LEwho ascendedלְמַעְלָהle/MA/lafar aboveמִכׇּל־הַשָּׁמָיִםmik/KOL-hash/sha/MA/yimall the heavensלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיְמַלֵּאye/mal/LEhe might fillאֶת־הַכֹּל׃et-hak/KOLall

    He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

    וְהוּאve/HUand heנָתַןna/TANgaveאֶת־אֵלֶּהet-EL/lesomeשְׁלִיחִיםshe/li/CHIMapostlesוְאֶת־אֵלֶּהve/ET-EL/leand someנְבִיאִיםne/vi/IMprophetsוְאֶת־אֵלֶּהve/ET-EL/leand someמְבַשְּׂרִיםme/vas/se/RIMevangelistsוְאֶת־אֵלֶּהve/ET-EL/leand someרוֹעִיםro/IMshepherdsוּמוֹרִים׃u/mo/RIMand teachers

    And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

    לְהַשְׁלִיםle/hash/LIMto completeאֶת־הַקְּדוֹשִׁיםet-hak/ke/do/SHIMthe saintsלִמְלֶאכֶתlim/LE/khetfor the work ofהַשֵּׁרוּתhash/she/RUTthe ministryלְבִנְיַןle/vin/YANfor the building ofגּוּףgufthe body ofהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13. 13

    עַדaduntilכִּי־נָבוֹאki-na/VOwe comeכֻּלָּנוּkul/LA/nuall of usלְיַחַדle/YA/chadto the unity ofהָאֱמוּנָהha/e/mu/NAthe faithוְדַעַתve/DA/atand the knowledge ofבֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִיםben-Ha/e/lo/HIMthe Son of Godלְאִישׁle/ISHto a manתָּמִיםta/MIMperfectלְמִדַּתle/mid/DATto the measure ofקוֹמַתko/MATthe stature ofמְלֹאme/LOthe fullness ofהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

14. 14

    לְמַעַןle/MA/anthatלֹאlonoנִהְיֶהnih/YEwe beעוֹדodany longerיְלָדִיםye/la/DIMchildrenנִגְרָשִׁיםnig/ra/SHIMtossedוְנִדָּפִיםve/nid/da/FIMand drivenבְּכׇל־רוּחַbe/KHOL-RU/achby every wind ofלֶקַחLE/kachteachingבְּתַרְמִיתbe/tar/MITby the deceit ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenוּבְעׇרְמָהu/ve/or/MAand craftinessאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיֶאֶרְבוּye/er/VUthey lie in waitלְהַתְעוֹת׃le/hat/OTto lead astray

    That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15. 15

    אַךְakhbutדֹּבְרִיםdov/RIMspeakingאֱמֶתe/METthe truthבְּאַהֲבָהbe/a/ha/VAin loveנִגְדַּלnig/DALwe may growאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himבַּכֹּלbak/KOLin all thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהוּאhuisהָרֹאשׁha/ROSHthe headהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

16. 16

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himכׇּל־הַגּוּףkol-hag/GUFall the bodyמְחֻבָּרme/chub/BARjoined togetherוּמְדֻבָּקu/me/dub/BAKand held togetherבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERby whatיִתֵּןyit/TENgivesכׇּל־דֶּבֶקkol-DE/vekevery jointכְּפִיke/FIaccording toהַפְּעֻלָּהhap/pe/ul/LAthe workingבְּמִדַּתbe/mid/DATaccording to the measure ofכׇּל־חֵלֶקkol-CHE/lekevery partיַגְדִּילyag/DILHe increasesאֶת־הַגּוּףet-hag/GUFthe bodyלְבִנְיָנוֹle/vin/ya/NOfor its building upבְּאַהֲבָה׃be/a/ha/VAin love

    From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

17. 17

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowזֹאתzotthisאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayוּמֵעִידu/me/IDand testifyבָּאָדוֹןba/a/DONin the Lordכִּיkithatמֵעַתָּהme/at/TAfrom now onלֹא־תֵלְכוּlo-tel/KHUyou shall not walkעוֹדodany longerכְּיֶתֶרke/YE/teras the rest ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/Go/YIMthe Gentilesהַהֹלְכִיםha/hol/KHIMwho walkבְּהַבְלֵיbe/hav/LEin the vanity ofשִׂכְלָם׃sikh/LAMtheir mind

    This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

18. 18

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isחָשַׁךְcha/SHAKHdarkenedשִׂכְלָםsikh/LAMtheir mindוּמוּזָרִיםu/mu/za/RIMand estrangedמֵחַיֵּיme/chay/YEfrom the life ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodמִבְּלִי־דַעַתmib/be/LI-DA/atwithout knowledgeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבָּהֶםba/HEMin themמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofעִוְּרוֹןiv/ve/RONthe blindness ofלִבָּם׃lib/BAMtheir heart

    Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

19. 19

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהִשְׁמִינוּhish/mi/NUgrew fatוַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUand gaveאֶת־נַפְשָׁםet-naf/SHAMthemselvesלַזִּמָּהlaz/zim/MAto lewdnessלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doכׇּל־טֻמְאָהkol-tum/Aall uncleannessלִבְצֹעַliv/TSO/ato gainבָּצַע׃BA/tsaunjust gain

    Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

20. 20

    וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMbut youלֹאlonotכֵןkhensoלְמַדְתֶּםle/mad/TEMlearnedאֶת־הַמָּשִׁיחַ׃et-Ham/ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    But ye have not so learned Christ;

21. 21

    אִם־אׇמְנָםim-om/NAMif indeedשְׁמַעְתֶּםshe/ma/TEMyou heardאֹתוֹo/TOhimוּבוֹu/VOand in himלֻמַּדְתֶּםlum/mad/TEMwere taughtכְּפִיke/FIaccording toהָאֱמֶתha/e/METthe truthאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבְּיֵשׁוּעַ׃be/Ye/SHU/ain Jesus

    If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

22. 22

    לִפְשֹׁטlif/SHOTto strip offכְּפִיke/FIaccording toדַּרְכְּכֶםdar/ke/KHEMyour wayהָרִאשֹׁנָהha/ri/sho/NAthe firstאֶת־הָאָדָםet-ha/a/DAMthe manהַיָּשָׁןhay/ya/SHANoldהַנִּשְׁחָתhan/nish/CHATthat is corruptכְּתַאֲוֹתke/ta/a/VOTaccording to the desires ofהַמִּרְמָה׃ham/mir/MAthe deceit

    That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23. 23

    וּלְהִתְחַדֵּשׁu/le/hit/chad/DESHand to be renewedבְּרוּחַbe/RU/achin the spirit ofשִׂכְלְכֶם׃sikh/le/KHEMyour mind

    And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24. 24

    וְלִלְבֹּשׁve/lil/BOSHand to put onאֶת־הָאָדָםet-ha/a/DAMthe manהֶחָדָשׁhe/cha/DASHnewהַנִּבְרָאhan/niv/RAthat is createdכִּדְמוּתkid/MUTin the likeness ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבִּצְדָקָהbits/da/KAin righteousnessוּבְקֹדֶשׁu/ve/KO/deshand holinessאֱמֶת׃e/METtrue

    And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

25. 25

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeהָסִירוּha/SI/ruput awayמִכֶּםmik/KEMfrom youאֶת־הַשֶּׁקֶרet-hash/SHE/kerfalsehoodוְדַבְּרוּve/dab/be/RUand speakאֱמֶתe/METtruthאִישׁisheachאֶת־רֵעֵהוּet-re/E/huto his neighborכִּיkiforאֵבָרִיםe/va/RIMmembersאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areאִישׁisheachלְרֵעֵהוּ׃le/re/E/huto his neighbor

    Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

26. 26

    רִגְזוּrig/ZUbe angryוְאַל־תֶּחֱטָאוּve/AL-te/che/TA/uand do not sinאַלaldo notתָבֹאta/VOlet go downהַשֶּׁמֶשׁhash/SHE/meshthe sunעַל־רׇגְזְכֶם׃al-rog/ze/KHEMon your anger

    Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27. 27

    וְאַל־תִּתְּנוּve/AL-tit/te/NUand do not giveמָקוֹםma/KOMplaceלַשָּׂטָן׃las/Sa/TANto Satan

    Neither give place to the devil.

28. 28

    הַגֹּנֵבhag/go/NEVthe one who stoleאַל־יֹסֶףal-YO/seflet him not continueלִגְנֹבlig/NOVto stealכִּיkibutאִם־יִיגַעim-yi/GArather let him laborוּבְיָדָיוu/ve/ya/DAYVand with his handsיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SElet him doאֶת־הַטּוֹבet-hat/TOVwhat is goodלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיִהְיֶה־לּוֹyih/YE-lohe may haveלָתֵתla/TETto giveלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERto the one whoיֶחְסַר׃yech/SARlacks

    Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

29. 29

    וְלֹא־יֵצֵאve/LO-ye/TSEand let not go outמִפִּיכֶםmip/pi/KHEMfrom your mouthכׇּל־דְּבַרkol-de/VARany word ofנְבָלָהne/va/LAobscenityכִּיkibutאִם־הַטּוֹבim-hat/TOVrather the goodלִבְנוֹתliv/NOTto build upלְפִיle/FIaccording toהַצֹּרֶךְhats/TSO/rekhthe needלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיִתֵּןyit/TENit may giveחֵןchengraceלַשֹּׁמְעִים׃lash/shom/IMto the hearers

    Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30. 30

    וְאַל־תְּעַצְּבוּve/AL-te/ats/tse/VUand do not grieveאֶת־רוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁet-RU/ach-hak/KO/deshthe Holy Spiritאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMof Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERby whichבּוֹboby himנֶחְתַּמְתֶּםnech/tam/TEMyou were sealedלְיוֹםle/YOMfor the day ofהַגְּאֻלָּה׃hag/ge/ul/LAredemption

    And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31. 31

    כׇּל־מְרִירוּתkol-me/ri/RUTall bitternessוְחֵמָהve/che/MAand wrathוְאַףve/AFand angerוּצְעָקָהu/tse/a/KAand outcryוְגִדּוּףve/gid/DUFand revilingהָסִירוּha/SI/ruput awayמִכֶּםmik/KEMfrom youעִםimwithכׇּל־רָעָה׃kol-ra/Aall malice

    Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

32. 32

    וִהְיוּvih/YUand beטוֹבִיםto/VIMkindאִישׁisheachלְרֵעֵהוּle/re/E/huto his neighborרַחֲמָנִיםra/cha/ma/NIMmercifulוְנֹשְׂאִיםve/nos/IMand forgivingאִישׁisheachלְרֵעֵהוּle/re/E/huto his neighborכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahנָשָׂאna/SAforgaveלָכֶם׃la/KHEMyou

    And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
